Will you be a classic trainer? A criminal? A farmer? Choose your destiny on Legends Rising.
To participate in the Swarm, first post in this thread looking for a Pokemon. A mod will tag you and reply with stats for one Pokemon you find, including color and possibly even evolution depending on the species. Reply again encountering and trying to capture the Pokemon. Once you succeed, do not post in the thread again.
You may only find one per character, no rerolls. This is to prevent spamming to find special Pokemon. If for any IC reason you need to encounter another, use the same stats originally rolled and pretend it's a different individual.
Pokemon in Swarms have a 20% chance of being a special coloration!
Pokemon in swarms have a +20% capture rate with any ball, and will never flee.
This swarm closes at 11:59pm site time on June 30. After that, no new encounters will be spawned. However, anyone who has an ongoing encounter that isn't yet finished has until 11:59pm on the 15th of the following month to finish trying to catch their encounter. After that, the thread will be locked and archived.
There are things that fancies athletic boys and tomboyish girls, or just bug lovers in general... that are... cool looking bug types. Heracross for example being one, then Pinsir, Scyther, and many more... but among those bug types there are ones that according to Agate very cool. That is... the Bug/Electric type Vikavolt. Its appearance that looks like a railgun with plasma-like scissors... It tickles Agate's boyish dream of something robotic and at the same time organic.
The moment he heard there is a swarm of Grubbin nearby, he knew that HE MUST, AT ALL COST, GET THERE! The boy ran at full speed and attempted to get to the middle of the swarm as best as he could. Any person with insectophobia probably would have fainted on spot from the sight of the swarm, but not Agate. He's ready!
"Riku, let's do our best to capture the oddly colored one!"
Riku cannot help but to sigh in amusement that his partner already thinking of getting the special colored one. But he do understand, and well... he's not sure he can help him, but he'll try. Party: Riku the Riolu lv 21 Promina the Heatmor lv 16 Fang the Luxio lv 18 Flamel the Fennekin lv 10
It wasn't the one that he wanted, but even so... this one is larger than ones he saw... This Grubbin approached him as if saying that it wanted to fight. There's an affinity that Agate felt toward this Grubbin was... quite big actually! He grinned and pulled out one of his Pokeball. The one that he sent out is Flamel the Fennekin. The Fennekin noticed what he have to do already. As if saying 'I'm usually just a magician, but' he made a flair of breathing a bit of a fire before charging straight at the Grubbin!
The Grubbin being the higher level one would attack with a String Shot, trying to first lower down Flamel's speed. But Agate quickly commanded for Ember, which burned the Grubbin. The super effective move would be generally the time for the boy to catch it, but Agate sensed that the Grubbin had some more fight in him. Hmmm, that's strong... The Grubbin immediately followed with Mud Shot! Wait, can a Grubbin use Mud Shot? But that's what it did, and it further decrease Flamel's speed! It being a ground type move also caught the Fennekin off guard and damaged him! But this time without waiting for the order, Flamel immediately shot another Ember, weakening the Grubbin enough for Agate to toss one of his Pokeball!
It had been a while since Gabe had traversed Route 10, but he had some business to get to, and he had heard there was a Grubbin swarm on the way. While they weren’t nearly as beloved as his Fire types, Electric types went quite a ways in Gabe’s books, and he didn’t mind having a couple of them. That didn’t stop him from being prepared to deal with them. While Clopper was resting out on the farm, Gabe had made sure that Gum could copy her perfectly— perfectly enough to be ready to drop an Earthquake when the moment was right. For now, though, he needed to find them.
That day he’d decided to take Puff the Galarian Rapidash out as well as his lesser used Pokemon. It was a good excuse to work with them and keep them up to date with “work”. Meanwhile, Gum rested on his hand in the form of a ring just waiting for the single. <Nothing yet….> Puff sighed softly, not entirely bored but getting there. Gabe hummed a bit and urged them onwards. They’d find at least one, surely.
They wandered on for a while without any luck. Gabe was starting to wonder if there even was a swarm out or not— only to be ambushed by a sudden Spark from behind the brush only seconds after thinking this. Puff yelped and staggered sideways. She’d take the electrical attack better than Gabe who outright fell right off of her and onto the ground with a sharp yelp of pain and a swear. Coming out from the brush was none other than a Charjabug that was making low threatening noises. Gabe groaned before slowly pushing himself up and then… squinting at this aggressive battery.
He wasn’t going to waste any more time. “Puff, return, Gum, to Clopper,” he ordered calling back the Rapidashf or now before releasing the Ditto that would quickly become the most recent copy of the Gogoat. “Earthquake.” The Charjabug had scooched in for a Crunch only for the ground under her to suddenly spike up. The Charjabug yelped and was sent flying up into the air. Gabe wasted no time in tossing up a Great Ball for good measure.
The bike was destroyed. [break][break] With anger in his heart building with each step, Kaisei trudged down Route 10. He didn't want to be here in the first place - it was a smooth easy ride down Cycling Road to Maple City, as opposed to hashing it out in the wilderness toward shudder a Ranger outpost, of all things. These random rural towns had nothing of interest in them. Why not demolish the place and give it back to the wild Pokemon, he thought. [break][break] The irritation fueled him, step by step. Then Kaisei saw something very unexpected in the middle of the road - a giant swarm of Grubbin. This was a terrible idea, he thought, but just as he was about to turn around, he was sure they had noticed him. Could he plow his way through the damn bugs? Only one way to find out. [break][break] Party: Cherubi (Hinata, Lv13, 5/5 Energy), Heracross (Masaki, Lv13, 5/5 Energy), Remoraid (Minami, Lv12, 5/5 Energy), Dottler (Ayumu, Lv11, 5/5 Energy), Togepi Egg (9/10 hatching posts), Bagon Egg (9/15 hatching posts) [break][break] Notes: 144 WC[break]
One of the Grubbin separated from the swarm and walked up to the strange shadow on the ground. It tilted its head up and... oh dear. It was a human. The Grubbin immediately turned and scuttled off into the dry grass at the side of the road. Kaisei gave chase, and threw out a Pokeball. [break][break] "Masaki! Keep an eye on it, then Aerial Ace from above!" He stopped moving through the grass, not wanting to muffle the noise of the Grubbin's movements with the sound of his own footsteps. A cry from the Heracross signaled Kaisei that his quarry had been located. Masaki's horn made a slashing motion across the grass, sending the Grubbin flying. As it flew back down... it somehow managed to Vice Grip onto Masaki's horn. Kaisei watched as his Pokemon ineffectually flailed at the Grubbin with a series of Arm Thrusts, made the worse by the Grubbin somehow spitting mud onto his eyes. [break][break] "Masaki, for Arceus's sake, will you just... stop moving?" the trainer sighed. He threw a Nest Ball at the smaller bug danging off of the Heracross's horn.
