"Alright boys, time to work!" Marley called out to his pokemon, his pickaxe resting on his shoulder as he looked at the wall of earth and rock in front of him. Marley found himself at home in the mines, even as far back as when he did odd jobs at Galar mine. Yeah, he was branching out to other professions, but the tunnels were pretty much his home. Gripping his pickaxe tightly, he drove the blade into the wall, starting to chip away at the stone wall, trying to break it away.
Meanwhile, his other pokemon were getting to work as well. Naturally, there was Ironton. The massive Steelix was a common site in the mines. Normally, he could just bore his way through the rock, but this time, he was taking his time, using his massive jaws to chomp away at the Earth. Spritz was helping out too, using her Water Gun to soften the earth and rock, allowing Brawly and Furnace to dig away at it easier. Finally, there was Ally, and the newest addition to Marley's team, the little Yamper Shep. Marley had been so delighted when his mother had given the little guy to him. Apparently his grandmother's Boltund back in Galar had puppies, and she had sent one of them over to him as a gift. A gift that Marley was certainly grateful for.
Marley focused on the wall in front of him. Each hard swing caused the wall to crack, chunks of rock to fall away. Kicking the smaller pieces aside, He continued to hammer away at the wall before seizing a large, loose chunk and pulling it aside, letting it crash to the floor before he lifted it up in his arms and carried it over to the mine cart. No sense in digging if you were just going to let the dirt clutter up the rest of the tunnel. It was repetitive work, but it was certainly a good workout. As he picked up his pickaxe to continue working, he looked over at his pokemon working, and couldn't help but smile. These guys were like a well oiled machine! Hell, they could probably start their own mine, if they could find a good spot to dig. But then again, getting the supplies would certainly cost a mint. How much did champion pokemon trainers make?
He turned back and swung hard at the wall, causing a loud crack as the rock broke away, and something glittered in the lamp light. He let the pickaxe drop as he reached to pull the rock aside, revealing a glittering gem in the light. He used his pickaxe to pry the stones away further, before he was finally able to dislodge it from the wall. Ah, the first find of the day! And not a bad one by the look of it. He looked over it carefully, before setting it down into a bucket nearby, something to separate the dirt from the jewels. "Keep it up boys!" Marley laughed, "I think we're gonna hit a bit loud today!"
