Out in the training grounds once again, Aster stood next to her gigantic Gliscor as they surveyed the aerial obstacle course together. Aster looked a bit nervous; she'd never ridden on a Pokemon in the air before, so she figured it might be safest to stay closer to the ground for now. She had decided earlier that she wanted to train at least one of her Pokemon for being ridden in the air just in case there was ever a situation where she couldn't climb out or had to be pulled up from quicksand or mud or something, but now that she was actually thinking about it, she was fearful of the idea of leaving the ground at all.
"Er.. Hey, bud? What d'ya think about this whole thing?" Aster asked nervously. The Gliscor seemed excited to test her mettle against the course, and looked at Aster, motioning to the obstacles and probably asking to go on her own. Aster visibly relaxed. "Yeah, tha's a good idea. You.. run the course wi'out me first an' see if it's doable." Gliscor didn't wait for a moment; she shot off with a cry of glee, floating easily through some of the raised rings, spinning around and around the super tall poles, diving into the safety foam blocks head-first and nearly getting stuck in them, loosing herself carefully so she didn't tear them. She seemed to be having fun, and Aster brightened a bit as she watched her Pokemon having such a good time on her own; she wanted to join in now.

"Hey, Gliscor, come on back over here!" Aster's voice rang out around the area, and the Gliscor came flying back, skidding to a halt on the ground and flinging up all kinds of dust and dirt in a big cloud. She wondered what her trainer wanted, and Aster gestured her closer once the haze cleared up. "Alright, I'm ready t' ride on yer back, if ya don't mind." Gliscor grinned and crouched next to Aster so she could get up on her back, shifting to make sure she was solidly seated. "Okay, let's keep close t' the ground until-" Aster was cut off as, suddenly, Gliscor shot up into the air, angling herself so that her trainer wouldn't easily fall off, and went through one of the hoops in the air. Poor Aster clung on tight with her knees and hands, eyes stinging with the wind and face streaming.
"G-Gliscor!! Slow down!!!" Aster had a hard time making herself heard over the wind flying by the pair in the air, but Gliscor heard and slowed down a bit, concerned. "Gliscor, ya gotta slow down! Ahm not used t' flyin' like you are! Now, take me back down toward th' ground, y'hear me?"
Sadly, Gliscor descended, ending her descent a few feet above the ground and hovering there with Aster still clinging on for dear life. If Gliscor had been any smaller or weaker, the strength of Aster's knees hanging on to her sides for dear life would probably hurt.

"Alright, slowly now, y'gotta let me get used t' bein' in th' air, alright?" Aster's voice shook a bit, but she was still firm and fair with her Pokemon. Gliscor felt scolded without being properly scolded, but she had just went flying off at high speeds with a brand new flyer on her back, so she felt like Aster was right and she needed to slow down a lot for her trainer. So, Gliscor carefully navigated them over to where the safety nets and lower hoops were and pointed up at the hoops that were only about eight feet off the ground.
"Yeah, go ahead n' go through those hoops. Ah can handle that." Grinning again after getting her trainer's blessing, Gliscor sped up a touch and flew up a couple more feet to do a straight dive through a hoop, turning back to check on Aster after she did it. Her trainer seemed okay, so she flew a little higher for the next one, and moved just a little faster when she did it.
"That's right, Gliscor, slow an' steady.." Aster didn't seem to realize they were moving faster, but the way she nervously glanced down at the ground and back up, taking a deep breath while she did so, told Gliscor she knew exactly how high up they were.

After a time of going through the same three hoops over and over, with Gliscor moving a bit faster here and there but not so fast that Aster really noticed the difference, Aster started to get used to the movements and figured out how to lean in to the dives and turns to help her Pokemon move a little better.
"Yer doin' a fine job here, Gliscor. How 'bout I give ya a real name? Instead o' jus' callin' ya Gliscor?" Gliscor blinked in surprise and turned to Aster on her back, tilting her head as if to ask, what did you have in mind? "Hm.. How 'bout Hyacinth? Yer about the right blue fer that."
Hyacinth liked her new name enough to do a joyful loop, forgetting that Aster was on her back, but luckily moving fast enough that by clinging on with her knees and hands Aster didn't fall. The poor trainer was terrified now, though, and was definitely shaking. "Hahh.. Glad y'like it.. ah guess..." Hyacinth felt awful for scaring her trainer again, after she'd been so good! So she took her back to the ground and gently deposited her, trying not to stir up a bunch of dust this time.

Poor Aster sunk to the ground, done with everything for now; shaking, exhausted, a little dehydrated, and very, very glad to be back on solid earth again. "Okay, so now if I need t' ride a flyin' Pokemon, ah can call on you, yeah, Hyacinth?" Aster asked, after she'd drunk her fill from her water bottle and rested for a little while. Hyacinth nodded, smiling sunnily at her trainer and wagging her tail like a happy dog. "Alright, tha's great. I'll know where t'go when I need help bein' carried. Thank ya, Hyacinth, this was... fun.."
Aster thought it might be better to keep out of the air for now, anyway, but the ability to fly was there when she needed it, at least. She returned Hyacinth to her ball after resting a bit longer and headed back to town, so she could sleep for at least ten hours.
