tag solo words 535 | There's few genres like heavy metal that can really get the gym mood going. Amell entered his basement, which he's turned into a professional-grade workout room. He named it the Iron Paradise, inspired from a celebrity he had the honors of meeting more then once. With a flick of a switch, the lights came on and shown on the gym equipment neatly organized in his finished basement. A few flicks from his phone, and a deep electric guitar started to aggressively ring out from the surround sound speakers. After a sharp 'oof' from the lead singer, and a quiet one from Amell stubbing his toe, the large man finally got in place to begin working out. Drum and backup guitar supported the main guitar shortly after, and Amell began focusing on his shoulder muscles. Angry vocals kicked in, reverberating around his personal gym, as he watched his form in the mirror as he lifted weights. When his warm up lift was finished, he increased the weight considerably and went right back into the motions. When his muscles couldn't bear the weight any longer, he decreased the amount and continued the reps until his muscles once again threatened to fail. He repeated this method until he was at a measly 20 lbs (9 kg). There's something comforting about feeling the pain of progress in his shoulders. Shock the muscle, reap the rewards. It was it's own kind of therapy -- one he chooses not to function without. With heavy metal flooding the air, Amell moved onto focusing on his chest muscles. Again, he started at a weight just under his maximum strength. Once the warm up rep was done, he then pushed the bar higher. He increased the weight, and felt the heat of the workout start to soak his training clothes. Once his chest couldn't handle his maximum weight, he decreased the amount in small intervals. It takes time to exhaust the muscles, but it was time well spent. He repeated this process for every muscle he could physically work out. Shoulders, chest, back, core, arms, legs, glutes, and even calves. During this time, his mind was focused purely on his form and his goals. If his muscles started burning from exhaustion, he'd start to motivate himself mentally. "One more rep, one more rep," He'd think to himself, "Focus, I'm makin progress." Between workouts, he'd bob his head to the music and time his rests. Breathers between reps lasted no longer then 30 seconds, if he took breaks at all. He'd carry a water bottle with him, but rarely drink from it. Too much water can easily upset a stomach, especially when he's in the middle of trying to make his abs burn as hot as a stovetop. Thanks to the luxury of being in his own home, in his own personal gym, noise isn't a worry with his training. Whenever he reached a new record, whether it be more lifted, longer consecutive reps, or anything else, he'd grunt or scream in a deep, adrenaline filled voice to celebrate his progress.
