There is a time in every star guides life that they're faced with a large, ground breaking discovery, and they have to decide whether or not to persue it at risk of their lives or leave it alone. Now, Eri was no coward. She was a guide to the stars and somebody who took pride in her research skills, so it may come to no shock that, when faced with the disasterous information that a star who she'd seen to a few weeks ago who was destined to be, not just an arsonist, but a possible master criminal with special star powers who hadn't contacted her after her encounter that Eri put her all into finding him.
It started as something as simple as contacting stars who she'd helped before. A small follower of a big boss in the robbery buisness, an accountant for somebody who ran an underground crime ring, an extortionist with too much time on their hands, it didn't matter what they were destined for, what mattered is that she got the help she needed. She gave the description and name of the star, Helios- err- Gabe. Long darkish blue hair, dark-tan complexion, golden eyes, and the information she'd managed to learn?? Was more then Eri usally got to go off when involved in a follow-up session.
Bass. That was a common between things shed been told. He must frequent the area! It was possible he lived there, or that he operated some kind of base there, Eri wasn't sure. She'd attempted to follow up on the visuals she'd seen when in viewing his fates too, but so far she'd only been able to narrow the builing down to 40 different buildings across 12 regions... which... didn't help- but it was a start!
That day, after she was called psychotic after asking somebody one too many times if the visuals of seeing their dead mother disturbed them when they couldn't see the visuals at all she had realized that... it was only Helios who was able to see her visions. Helios, who fled. Helios, who it was her duty to help. She'd had stubbourn stars like him in the past, so... maybe if she entices him into his sworn duty, then that would be all that mattered!
Skip forward a few weeks, and Eri had readied herself to set out. She had a map of Bass and areas where he'd been spotted dotted out, and she'd asked some of the Stars who lived in bass to keep a lookout for her because she aided them in the past. It was just a matter now of searching. She had on a thick red lolita outfit that would hopefully help her not get too cold on the journey over, with a corset and three different petticoats to give her proper form. It had felt...appropriate to doll herself up in red, only fitting to show how dedicated she was to helping Helios!
Of course, she didn't assume she'd come across him today. She was planned to stay in Bass a weak and go scouting there, of course! Adjusting her headband and righting the fabric she had begun on her way with a small egg basket in one hand and a cute, matching suitcase in the other. Cosma sat perched on her shoulder, once again the perfect lookout, and they'd left Birch early that morning, stopping for lunch in Cedar and eventually continuing forth down route 2...
And weren't fates just in her favour?! At First, Eri hadn't spotted him. She'd gotten side-tracked a little ways off the usual path when Cosma had alerted her to some pokemon tracks that fate had obviously wanted her to follow-however, Cosma had changed her mind when, from just beyond the bushes, a familiar head of hair had been spotted! She'd flown off Eri's shoulder and peaked into the horizon beyond the route to be certain... and couldn't believe Eri's luck.
She, of course waited until Gabe was a distance away before flapping over to Eri in a rush, squawking and chittering at her with loud determination. Eri had... at first been confused until Cosma drew her attention to the back of a star she'd become all too familiar with in the last few days. Gabe. She almost gasped, had Cosma not chittered at her to be quiet.
Eri knew the routine, having done this time and time again. She picked up her egg basket and ensured her pkkeballs were with her, as well as her suitcase before nodding at Cosma. Eri had a plan, and though she ahdn't had time to perfect it... A bright light engulfed both Eri and Cosma, the move telepot sending the two stumbling out and appearing- right infront of Gabe.
Eri wasted no time, an excited noise leaving her. She'd spent so long trying to find him, she couldn't let this opportunity go to waste, "Stars, you're one hard Star to find, Helios!"
The last couple of weeks… had been rough on Gabe for a multitude of reasons, but he was finally headed home for a little bit. He’d return to Bass and check in there before either surfing out or flying out to Plum and heading down to Cherry. After that… after that he could rest.
Sat up over Clopper the Gogoat, Gabe listened to the combination of her soft hooves on the ground and her more melodious thoughts. Clopper was one whom he hadn’t realized had such a deep music within her that it radiated in her head at all times until he’d actually touched her mind. And now hearing it was akin to getting a massage. Nice, comforting, nap worthy.
He trusted her to alert him when there was a problem. Too bad she didn’t know anything about Gabe’s strange stalker and just assumed the human and her Pokemon in the general viscinity were probably harmless. She immediately regretted this assumption when the woman and bird Teleported right in front of them both. A snort of frustration escaped from her as she took a step back and then gave a goatly noise.
Gabe immediately sat up. Stars you’re one hard star to find— Oh Arceus fucking Mew. Gabe sat back, tilted his head, looked one way, then the other, and sure enough it was Eri. “Excuse me?”
Helios was very high up- maybe that's why he said excuse me- because he didn't hear her! A sound of understanding left her and she shifted, still standing in the pokemons path before releasing Celeste, her shiny Ditto. Without missing a beat she was quick to have Celeste use transform and shift into a mirror image of Gabe's own pokemon. She clambered onto the Gogoat replicate with no time to spare while Coma flew up and perched on the transformed Ditto's head, "I said..." She shifted then to face Gabe, a huge grin on her face. "Stars, you're one hard star to find, Helios!"
She shifted then, moving to adjust her egg basket in her lap before shifting through, as if looking for something. "I had to contact sooo many stars- it's not surprising that a bunch know you, you're destined to be special, after all!" Her head tilted and she brought her gaze back to him, "And before you try anything, I know you've been gifted by the stars, nobody else could see my visions! Since you didn't contact me yourself I took it into my own hands..."
She paused then, managing to wriggle out a few sheets of paper. "Do you know.... a Andrew Corsiph? MelPane? Zu Romaf? They;re some of my clients, one let me know you're from Bass while atwo others were aware of your existance and places you frequent, while I didn't predict i'd meet you on my way to finding you...." Her eyes sparkled a little and she grinned, while Cosma squawked. "The fates work in mysterious ways! And I have no doubt now- you're gonna be an arsonist. I analised the flames I saw and they coudn't have been naturaly started, that and you weren't fleeing from it, you were just walking casually maaaybe in an attempt to blend in..." A pause.... she was going too fast, wasnt she?! Right, she had to hook him in before he fled, she knew how stubbourn stars worked and this one didn;t want her help- but it was a neccesary evil. She wanted to see him shine- and if he hadn't figured out how to light stuff on fire...
Well... the paperwork in her hands of some of the most burnable places in Arciel, buildings, forestry, isolated places where rangers never patrol, abandoned apartments... perhaps that would get his interest! Eri was a very stellar star guide, after all! "I have some... information that may be of interest to you, Helios!"
…Oh fuck his actual life. Gabe deadpanned as a mirror of his Pokemon stretched out before him. Of course, a breeder would have a Ditto. Of course. Oh great. His head turned slightly as Eri went on to address him again… and then slowly he leaned down against Clopper again.
<Gabe? Who is this?> Clopper’s soft thoughts came to him like cool water. She was more than a little aware of the weight shift going on on her back.
Gabe took in a breath and held it for a good second and a half before releasing it again. ‘No one important, I promise,’was the answer. No one you need to deal with, anyways… Ugh. Clopper’s ears flicked back on her head. Should she just run away, then? Gabe clearly didn’t want to be talking to this person. Hmmmmm….. She stomped her hoof a couple of times indecisively.
Meanwhile, as tired as he was, Gabe felt that familiar anxiety twitching inside. This girl here had been stalking him, had been planning things for him, had been finding people who knew him. She was insisting he was gifted as if he didn't already know that. Her forceful statements were annoying more than anything.
Ah that was it. Gabe leaned up off the Gogoat and looked straight at Eri drawing every ounce of psychic power he had at his disposal then. “Go. Away. I'm not interested.”
Celeste struggled for a moment with her new form, hooves shaky but she managed to keep up and keep steady when neccesary, especially with the amount of stuff little miss Eri Novae had. Cosma remained perched on her head, shifting her wait from one leg to the other with every small movement while Eri clutched the paperwork she'd written up with an expectant look on her face, staring at Gabe with bright eyes. And- and then he looked at her! Was he finally going to accept everything she'd put into this?!
...Go Away. I'm not interested. Eri's once bright smile melted in an instant, eyes going wide. Go Away. Go Away. He wanted her to go away. He wasn't interested. She should go away, shouldn't she? If the stars telling her too then it'd be mean and pushy of her... and the last thing she ever wanted to do was upset the stars. Upsetting the stars lead to scorn, and if Eri was scorned she'd end up with so much eternal debt and bad luck that she'd be unable to face the world. Her mummas would yell at her, she wouldn't be able to talk with other stars again- the celestials could take away her powers, they could curse her and her bloodline-
But,... eyes left Gabes as she stared down at the papers. Leave. Leave. She shoud leave. Leave all the work she'd done for the past week, all the effort she'd put in on figuring out where the most isolated buildings were in Arciel, where the fire departments and their allocated rangers were and what places had the most mileage from them- uninhabited places, places where people were not. Safe places, to practice. To make your mark. With no security cameras or fire alarm systems.
And then there were the places some stars had reccomended, they'd been inhabited but they were little forget-me-not places where there were plenty of fire escapes and working fire systems, but it would cause chaos and if plnning would be put into it would be easy to get away from with no death- of course if there was death there was just fate! But obviously he wasn't interested in any of tht. he wasn't interested. He was walking away from a building building looking proud and so happy and fire was in his eyes and his stars would shine so bright when the building burns- but he wasn't interested.
She should go. Leave. Turn Celeste away and go home. She had taken the whole week out to look for the guy besides her, the star who's potential to shine perhaps rivalled that of the fiery sun. She could go home and gook meals stuffed with glitter at all the wasted work, because she wans't needed. Because she should leave- she should leave- she had to leave-
A squawk. Cosma was staring at her scrunched up face in concern. ...Concern. Eri was concerned. Why was she concerned?! Her fingers twitched against the papers in her hand, she stared down at it, straining to think, to understand. Concerned... Potential. Helios had potenital. Potential. Without her, she was scared that potential would be wasted. That he would never burn bright, never experience the happiness he obviously did when he burned the building. The building she was so close to finding. Eri's one true buisness was happiness!
Happiness. Happiness. Smiles, laughing. Being one with the celestials above. He was special. He had... something... something she didnt know. He could see her visions. And as much as she shoud leave, as much as he wanted it, it was Eri's sworn duty to help the stars, even if they didn't see it as helping. To help the stars. To put a smile on their faces. So she could text her friends and make them proud. His reaction was similar to Koray's, to what his had been with the tarot cards. Adverse, ne of the only other stars to not see it through- but if she could still hep Koray, she could still help Gabe! She shfited her hold on her little basket with her egg in it and breathed in, eyes closing.
Breathe. Breathe. She felt her mind being tugged one way while her goal was tugged another. She would never dissapoint the stars. Not after what happened in highschool. Not after the tears and the bruises and the notes. Arciel was different. She could help people here. She could help people. And the fates led her to Gabe for a reason. For a solid, solid reason.
She was going to help the star. She wasn't going to leave. He was going to be happy. Everything was okay.
Eyes opened, her grip on her papers was tight, so tight. She loosened the grip a little and took another breath, eyes moving to Gabe's... and then she smilled softly. "I'm here to help, Helios. The fates sent me here, and I can't betray the fates and what they wish for me to accomplish."
Cosma squawked then, a soft warning, eyes moving to Eri, unsure. But Eri stayed smiling. Kept her eyes on Gabe. "It's free. There's no money involved. And it'll be something that helps you." She needed a hook. A better hook. Head tilted, she giggled. "Don't you want to see things you hate up in flames? Before you get to that point, tyou need to be able to get away with things you have no association with. Plan escapes, in places far from possible ranger involvment, where error doesn't mean incarciration."
She shifted again to stare forward, away from Gabe. Leave. She wasnt going to leave. Eri wouldn't leave. Not if the celestials had anything to do with it. They were watching. Waiting for her to slip up again so they could ruin her. They sent her to Gabe for a reason. She wasn't going to let this down. "...I won't bother you again after, but if you send me away now I can't promise that. After all, I know some of your associates, I know your home city, places you frequent..." Oh! Oh that sounded threateneing! She didn't mean that! "I'd just leave the information there instead! And imagine if they found all these arsonist plans written to Gabe? It'd ruin both our stars! And you could claim I was crazy but..."
She shook her head once more and let her smile loosen. She had stars everywhere, they'd vouch for her! Surely! Or the celestials would send help her way! Or... if she went to jail... she would help the stars there! "...I... was sent to help. I won't leave until I help."
Good, she got the point. Gabe felt a vague satisfaction in watching that smile melt off Eri’s face. Even the sudden onslaught of sad thoughts that exploded from her mind were weirdly satisfying. Now if only she would turn around and go away.
Instead, Eri’s thoughts kept going. And going. And going. Gabe was growing impatient as he stared the woman down. Go. Just go. Just leave. Stop bothering him. Why could she just not— Gabe’s eyes grew, and his lips pressed together. She was doing all of this because he’d reacted… because he had seen those visions with her. She had done all of this because of….
And then a second thought hit him harder than a baseball bat could. Had he just heard… Koray? Koray. She couldn’t mean that Koray. She couldn’t. She just… That feeling of wanting to run was suddenly alive in Gabe again. He’d been so tired, and now he was so awake. His hands clung into Clopper’s fur. She couldn’t mean the Koray he knew. She couldn’t. There had to be more. But what are the odds. Why are we so damn similar…
And then Eri spoke, defying Gabe’s psychic words with that sheer force of will brought on by her own delusions. Gabe felt his lips press together hard in silence. Fate sent her to him. Didn’t he want to see something go up in flames? And then she was threatening him. Because she’d done research on him, because she wanted to be helpful. This woman before him was a human disaster gifted psychic power.
Gabe’s lips pressed together, and he shifted slightly in the saddle. “I’m not interested in fate,” he finally said bluntly. “You may want to be used by the world and whatever else, but I have no intention of being strung along by some unseen string. Your celestials don’t control me. What you saw— and what I saw, was only a possibility. If I never burn anything, what then?” His arms folded in front of himself. “I never asked for your help.”
Cosma was on edge. Very on edge. Eri esd riding a pokemon she hadn't ridden before, talking to a guy who obviously didn't want her there and kept pressing the same point over and ovr and over- and her smile died for a second! She knew her trainer was all about stars, and compassion, and helping, but she also knew Eri was unaware of when to quit, or stop. That she didn't care if she got hurt- and if Cosma went to teleport her away right now Eri would be probably super upset.
Gabe's following words had Eri curious, and perplexed. He didn't have to be interested in fate! It just mattered that it existed, that everything happened for a purpose, that everything is predestined, like her mummas told her! And then he spoke about her being used by the world... and Eri was determined to also clear that up! What she was was not a possibility, it was obviously what was going to happen, she was certain! Especially after his reaction! Her hands fiddled with her bags, thinking over exactly what she could say.
He didn't wanna hear about fate, that was fine. But she had done so much work... She had things to clear up. Because he had gotten everything wrong! "Helios, i'm not being used by the world! It's my celestial duty to help as many stars as possible so when they pass on into the afterlife they can complete their fates and shine as brightly as possible. It's the role I was given, it's why I can see the fates!" There was a pause then, "I do admit I have been shown the wrong fates before, however that was in Johto. I can assure you most of what I have seen in Arciel has come true, i've watched it. Do you sincerly not want to burn anything?"
A hand pushed through her hair, Cosma squawked softly at her but Eri just continued. "Nobody asks for my help. But that doesn't mean it's not my job to give it. And, by the fates, you're a special star. A star with mass potential. It was the least I could do to just print out documents that you could just take and be on your way with."
Gabe deadpanned at Eri’s words. She was so brainwashed and stupid that he kind of wanted to bash her head in. Her celestial duty? “Give be a break,” he snapped back right as she was talking. “At least have the decency to believe in something that has any amount of substantial evidence. Legendary Pokemon? Fine. Celestials sounds stupid.” He had no interest in getting into the logistics of an afterlife with her if they couldn’t even get that straight.
“Do you sincerely think I want to be treated like I don’t have a choice in my own future and that you who probably has some weird psychic ability or are very good at illusions have full right to intrude on it?” Calm down. Calm down. Calm down. This was doing him no favors. This was not being in control of the situation. If he didn’t calm down… if he didn’t calm down…. “Your self-proclaimed job is a delusion of grandeur, and irritating me to listen to.”
Clopper’s ears folded at the back of her head. She felt… entirely uneasy with the situation. Should she run? Get Gabe as far away from this woman as possible? Should she fight? Maybe knock out her Pokemon fi— The ground??? Clopper’s eyes grew as she stared at the ground. There was a thin layer of golden film around each little grass bud…. And around every little rock and pebble in their area… and they were shaking… rocking… threatening to rip up from their space and do something…. Oh… oh no.
Eri for a mere second thought she'd finally gotten through to him- and then he spoke. Her lips pressed together in a tight smile. He still didn't understand. He didn't get it at all, and in the process was trashing the very thing Eri's whole life had been built around. The celestials. The stars. The starry nights. The prayers. There was so much backing her belief, things her mothers had gone through, the stars and what the told her each night- they literally sparkled and watched over everybody as they went about day-to-day life- and yet...
She took a breath. "There's evidence. A lot of evidence. I wouldn't believe in the celestials if there wasn't. I wouldn't devote my whole life to aiding them." Her voice wasn't as bubbly as ebfore, but Eri tried to keep a strong resolve. "We all have choices- but i'm just saying it's probably resolute that you're going to end up in the position I viewed- i'm not delusinal. I'm..."
She's not delusional. She's not crazy. She's not what the kids thought of her in school. She's Eri Noave. She was going to change lives, make the stars pleased, make people happy, help them shine so the world didnt crumble in on itself. Lest she, and her family be scorned.
She had moved, as if going to say more... only to stop. A blink. Something was off. Cosma didn't like this. The Psychic type let out another warning chirp, hopping up and down on Celeste's head. Was... there an earthquake? No.. it didn't look right. Eri blinked.
She blinked again.
Her gaze drew over to Gabe. So this is why the stars led her here. He was incredibly special. Dangerous, perhaps. Eri was familiar with criminals. For people who wouldn't hesitate to swing at her, throw things at her- she was familiar with stars who had peculiar moral compasses... and yet...
She smiled. What a day fate had planned. She was going to have to do more research to comprehend everything. It was obvious the star was stubbourn, and as a result... this was occuring. Perhaps this was a sign from the stars? Or a warning. Eri was naive, naive and oblivious. But she had to do what the stars said. And the stars said for her to stop. Stop. Cosma was on the verge of teleporting Eri and company away the minute things went haywire, chirping loudly once more. "...Helios..." it was said quietly. "I'll stop speaking. But don't try and... deny things you do not understand. You may anger the wrong beings one day."
He was given a gift. A gift. It was not a curse, like she knew her friend had. Unless this was a sign... Eri wasn't sure. But this was a star who was going to shine brightly. And going t do great things. There was a reason this star was shown to Eri. And she was going to find out exactly why one way or another.
Evidence, a lot of evidence. A sharp laugh escaped from Gabe. Arceus, he’d believe in Legendary Pokemon before some unknown entity. At least Pokemon made their powers obvious. Celestials? The hell were Celestials. Maybe, just maybe, Gabe was laughing to cool his own worries, though, his anxiety, his fear, that maybe his fate was entirely sealed. And that he had no choice in who he was at all.
It slipped through the cracks. It bled into his powers. It twisted the small blades of grass and shifted the ground under them. What if there was now choice? What if he was destined to have suffered like this? What if he was destined to go through more of it? The more Gabe laughed, the more the blades of grass trembled and crackled.
Eri’s quiet insistences had Gabe grinning now. “You’re messing with the wrong person,” he answered back. And like that, one of the golden leaves caught fire bursting into a tiny flame that earned a shriek from Clopper. The Gogoat was quick to stomp it out, but still more fire broke up like sparks all around eating at the grass this way and that. Gabe’s eyes shined brightly, dangerously. “My fate belongs to me!” Suddenly the area was ablaze now.
...Cosma was really on edge. This whole situation felt completly off, the grass, the guy, her gaze stared at him, trying to understand, or even comprehend what was going on in his head. She struggled though, a soft sqawk leaving her. She wanted out, Eri shouldn't be lingering here, something bad was going to happen, Cosma could just feel it. Eri on the other hand was quite oblivious to the change in atmosphere, her curious gaze travelling to the grass, the rumbling, the small sparkes. A blink. A head tilt.
A sign. A sign from the stars? Had she been scorned, not able to help somebody? Was this where she perished? Would a stellar fist come down and squash her? Eri really didn't know how the whole process worked, but if this was what the celestials wante-
His voice sounded on edge. She wasn't messing with anybody! He was the right person, that stars had sent her t- A confused squeak left the girl as suddenly the ground Celeste had been standing on burst into flames, tickling at the grass. Celeste was debating transforming to another pokemon, this wasn't good, this wasn't good at all! Uneasily she looked around, truly debating sprinting away.
Eri stared at Gabe. A blink, another blink. He... he was really special- was he... could he be a celestial himself? No! That was stupid! His fate belongs to the celestials, it was crafted by them and this... this proved it. This proved what Eri had seen- and it proved that perhaps he didn't need as much help in his arson, and getting away with it, as the purple haired girl thought! But- but she was sent here. Sent here for a reason.
Eri didn't know the reason. But while holding her egg tightly to herself and her bags, and trying desperately to hang on to the fidgiting Celeste she knew damn well she was going to figure it out. Cosma had had the fuck enough. her wings were flapping wildly and the psychic type let out a loud chirp, as if asking Gabe to stop, another shift and a purple light encompassed Eri, Celeste and her. There was a moment where they had dissapeared, before reappearing a few paces back, still by the fire, still close. Cosma looked drained.
Water?! Was her job to stop the fire from wrecking the forest? Or was it to help it spread? He- was he trying to kill her? Eri was unsure. Cosma worked once more on getting her energy up, and Eri seemed about to speak- only Celeste had decided she had had enough. A loud cry left her. "See?! Fire!"
Eri was yelling a little louder. Fear danced through her veins, but she was here for the stars! This was great, this was right! "How could I have known, Helios? You're special, you're going to do stellar things- and burn so brightly!" A shift, oh- oh- Eri was sliding off of Celeste. Was she going to?? Walk??? Into the burning grass?? "I'm not messing with you, I promi-"
...That was her plan, at least... until her egg started cracking, and a light started to radiate from it. A pause, a shift. Oh. Oh. This- yeah- not a great moment for a pokemon egg hatching, was it the flames that set it off? What if that made it sick?! A very, very tiny kantonian curse left her.
That's when Celeste decided, if Eri was going t just stand there, she might as well try put out the fire! A loud cry left her as she turned from her prior form, shrinking down, the bags ontop of her falling to the ground, the papers Eri had neatly stacking flying out and being licked at by the flames. The pokemon transformed into a wingull, into the form of one of Eri's babies. And almost immediately attempted to water-gun the fire around a stunned Eri, who was really doing what nobody should be doing in this situation.
Gabe wished he could stop. He wished he could regain composure. As the small Natu implored him, he mentally wished for the same. But he couldn’t. As if some flood gate he hadn’t realized was in his brain to begin with had been opened, Gabe could not stop. But did he really? Didn’t he always feel like he had to be nice to people? To keep them at a safe respectable distance so that they couldn’t come back to fuck him over? Didn’t he want to go apeshit at least once. The fire spreading certainly seemed to think so.
Poor Clopper whined and stomped clearly distressed by the flames as much as anyone else there. She didn’t know what to do and could only look over her shoulder at Gabe imploring him to stop! Gabe wouldn’t see her, though, his eyes were focused on Eri and her Pokemon.
As the girl disappeared for a moment, Gabe tensed. As she reappeared, he scowled. Was she running from him now? Now that he’d committed to whatever this was? Whatever this feeling was? No, she was black and throwing his words back in her face. Hah, yeah fire. Fine. Fine then. She’d pay for it then. How could she have known he was special? Apparently via her psychic intuition. It sucked. It sucked. It sucked.
Clopper shifted around biting Gabe’s leg rather hard. The latter yelped and swore shifting and grabbing at the pain. “Clopper!” he snarled. She whined back and then started bucking— managing to throw him right off her back and onto the ground where the fire was growing. He landed with a sharp swear right onto his elbow, but it was now his bag that Clopper was grabbing at, ripping up with her teeth as she searched for perhaps the only one who could be reasonable with him right now: Lizbeth.
Gabe Alim Frillish + Juno + Cosma + Aries + Celeste
Eri was very much not focused on the chaos happening, her eyes taking in the form of the egg that every so gradually formed into a baby pink frillish. The pokemon seemed confused, and concerned... and... A soft cry left it. Eri didn't know what to do, especially not in this situation. She had half the idea to perhaps attempt to return the Frillish? Deal with the newborn when she actually could get the chance... but the Frilish had other plans. Almost immediatly it saw the fire, gaze furrowing. Eyes flicked from Eri, to Gabe, to the expanding fire... and the baby Frillish zipped out of Eri's grasp, a loud cry leaving her as she sent a water gun, with very minimal power behind it, into the nearby flames.
She had no time for messing around! A choked noise left Eri- uh- uhm!? "S-Star guide?" She was stunned, for all of a second. Cosma had moved herself up into a tree, away from the danger so she could work up enough energy to get Eri out of this situation, and Celeste?
Celeste wasn't having it. A cry of the Ditto's own left them as their form began changing once more, Eri's best water type, somebody who'd be great with dealing with this sort of thing. Celeste was sure it'd be of help! Neutron the huge wailmer. 12 feet of... massive... potential. Unfortunately for Celeste, the wailmer only knew splash. The huge whale type just stumbled around, their fins trying for water and finding nothing but air... ah... this was a bad idea.
Eri, meanwhile, had shfiter to her bag, releasing her other baby pokemon who she'd brought with her. Aries the large Cyndaquil. The bean-like pokemon was at fire confused- fire?! Chaos? He wanted in- but before he could rush in to bathe in the delights of the flames Eri stopped him. "Hey- hey- Aries..." Eyes flicked around, uhm- oh! Clopper, Helios' pokemon was... looking for something. "You'll, uhm, get a treat if you help the Gogoat over there!"
That was enough for Aries, who sprinted right into the fray on his little legs towards the bag, trying to worm his way in and help however he can! Pokeballs? Let's just nudge those a little, he wanted his treat soon! After all that was sorted... Eri stared at the flames... she had no water types but the Frillish with her, which meant....
A step towards the fire, cautious. Eri wasn't scared of fire, no way! The stars were all made of fire! This was her destiny, to help this... star? Celestial? Eri wasn't certain. "Frillish!" Her loud words seemed to cuase the baby pokemons attention to snap to her, blinking. "I predict you'll direct the water gun at the flames infront of me! I'm going in!"
...Frillish had no idea what that meant and stared at Eri. Eri stared back. "...use...water gun... on the flames?" Better! Frillish did just that, attempting to douse the flames infront of Eri. Helios was on the ground, so she had to make sure he was okay!
Gabe was irritated. He wanted every damn thing (including himself) to be reduced to ash and be done with. He grabbed at Clopper a couple of times, but the Gogoat shifted away each time searching for the right Pokeball. She wished she knew what form it took. She wished she could see colors on the human spectrum in general, actually. As a Cyndaquill came to help, she quickly explained what she was trying to do, and between the two of them, they did find a Pokeball to open up.
Fortunately and unfortunately, what was released was not Lizbeth but Leonardo the Blastoise. Immediately upon seeing the fire around him, he scowled and searched about. Clopper's ears fell back on her head, and she took a step back giving him some room. The Blastoise could already tell, though: this was somehow Gabe’s fault. He didn’t know how, but he was sure it was. Raising his cannons to the sky, Leonardo released a slew of water and Water energy that quickly formed clouds and dropped down in the form of heavy rain: Rain Dance. Slowly, the fires started going down, and perhaps the new Frillish would even feel a power up from the rain.
As the rain came down, Gabe’s hand dropped away from Clopper, and he flopped down onto the ground entirely. “Leonardo you goddamn….. ninja turtle….” he muttered not really wanting to get up immediately.
Gabe Alim Frillish + Juno + Cosma + Aries + Celeste
Thankfully, the chaos that was this situation didn't last too much longer. The baby Frillish was working super hard! And Aries was proud of themselves for managing to help find and release a pokemon that could help! He looks to Eri, eyes sparkling with a sense of pride, only to tilt his head and squeak upon realising what was about to happen- rain. Lots of it. Dodging through the flames her returned to Eri's side just as the Blastoise used rain dance. And... Celeste as Wailmer was really just struggling to figure out what to do, uselessly flapping her massive fins and letting out a bellowing cry.
This was fine! This was okay! This was in fates plan! There was so much going on at once, Eri could barely keep up. Eyes flicked to helios, to the Blastoise, to her own pokemon, before quickly returning Aries and Celeste so nothing happened to them.
A pause. A baited breath as the rain poured down. Cosma's concerned squawks were in the back of the girls mind as she stared... Helios collapsed, flopping to the ground and... the star needed help! Right! Frillish kept trying their best with the water gun as Eri, who really couldn't care that she was being pelted with the water, rushed forward once more towards Gabe.
She didn't say anything. Eri was pushy, but... Gabe just exerted himself. He was obviously a special star- who Eri would research more in-depth and keep an eye on- oh! She could help from the sidelines- er- but he disliked her... but... uh- no! He couldn't run for the life the celestials had planned for him. She'd just have to ensure there was a little nudge now and again, a civillian who... pushed him too hard, gets him to exert his fire powers, test them out.
Whatever it takes to get that building fire. A little nudge towards his fate. She'd have to locate the building. She had so much work to do! And she'd have to figure out this huge stellar plan... her mind was already filled with stardust. "Probably shouldn't go to a pokecentre if your stars have been pushed. They could link it to... those fire abilities and then you'd be on some sort of register- when your- sorry- if your fates occur, then, they'll be able to trace you back to criminal activity- and that wouldn't be stellar at all."
What happened to being quiet, Eri?! The girl giggled then, pushing herself up and for all of once moment spinning in the rain, turning to look back at a concerned, and slightly annoyed Cosma. A squawk was directed at the girl, who could only grin back. What a stellar day- better then she could have hoped for- and maybe it had the constellations sparkling a little too much, but...
