Set in the original region of Arciel, Legends Rising is a route-inspired, but not strictly route-based, Pokemon roleplay. Pick a faction, pick a class, and strike out into the wild to take on the League, master Contest coordination, research the mysteries of Pokemon and Arciel, and much, much more. Will you be a classic trainer? A criminal? A farmer? Choose your destiny on Legends Rising.
Azur's journey so far has been... bunch of eventful events. After staying in Plum for a week or so, he decided that it's time to go on his way to next settlement. He'll repeat this pretty much everywhere. Stay in a city for about a week, go on a journey, dunno how long, then repeat again, and again and again. Well, that was the plan anyway. Speaking of which, he gained quite number of party he didn't expect. He thought that he'll probably get a Chansey Egg from Nurse Joy and that was it. He'll just travel with a Chansey. But the truth was so far from that. He was pulled into a strange... situation.
First, when he arrived to Arciel via airplane, he caught attention of low criminal who breed Pokemons just to trick tourists, calling them "endemic species". It would have worked if he wasn't a graduate of a nursing academy... From the two eggs that he got, he got Tristan the Ralts, and Gusios the Bagon. The two of them are quirky in their own way. Tristan is reckless, and he found out that due to his comment about Tristan's small stature, added with Azur's own distaste of Pokemon Battling causes the Ralts to not obey him. Gusios is much more cooperative meanwhile, being pretty much a dragon puppy.
The two are currently following him. Gusios running around him as he walked, and Tristan walked behind them. Oh right, the Ralts also somehow picked up a long, straight stick. Apparently a makeshift "sword" or sort. Azur tried to mend their relationship by giving him a cape. He accepted it, but he still does not think much of his trainer. Well, he guess they're off to rocky start.
Now, they're also followed by a small Arcanine... smaller than his species that is. Azur named him Zeit. Apparently he was abandoned, probably by someone who wanted to have Arcanine, and was hasty giving it a Fire Stone. The result is a smaller Arcanine that yet to fully mature. From the look of it, Zeit was abandoned for a good half year to a full year. His fur was matted, he was full of fleas, and adding insult to injury, his movesets were compromised quite a lot. It took Azur several days for the Pokemon to warmed up to him, and accepted the idea that now it got a new trainer.
Zeit is now working as his "medical dog" so to say, carrying a barrel of electrolyte in case of there is any need. The fire type Pokemon did not stray far from Azur... or more like, he's very close! He's practically walking near him! It's not that he mind, knowing the history behind him, but... welp.
"And here I am with the egg..."
That's right, Azur is given an egg... A Toxel Egg that is. He have no idea what to do with it, but... well, let's just say he was entrusted to keep it healthy and well. Considering the theme of his teams so far... he would hope that this one grows up without any sort of funny complications. [Toxel Egg 1/3]
Honestly, Azur's current journey was so different from his old one. Back then he only can afford to have one Pokemon, but now here he is with tons of Pokemons on his hand. FOUR, just on his first route too! Talk about a lot! Oh yeah, speaking of which, he's not alone with his team. He's here with Ettie, a street urchin he found when he first came to Arciel. She's quite a strange kid, approaching him outta nowhere despite he doesn't look the friendliest... yet despite that, she doesn't seem to mind the slightest? Any other kids would have cried upon looking at him. He guess that the young lady's attitude managed to warm him a lot.
Ettie voiced an interest to travel around. So for the meantime, Azur decided that he'll tag along with her, rather than her tagging along with him. He want to make sure that she could learn the basics of travelling and whatnot while with him. His Pokemon Champion journey was cut short due to unfortunate situation in the past... but even so, that experience is better than no experience at all. Azur.. was honestly happy in a way that he could have that experience to help the other. No matter how small it is.
"How are you keeping up, Ettie?" Azur asked to the girl. Come to think of it, she also got quite the sizeable amount of Pokemons. Half the normal party. There's Anne the huge Rockruff... honestly, Arciel sort of make him realize just how size variation exists. The shiny Rockruff is the strongest among their combined party. As evolved as Zeit is, he evolved too fast, making him pretty much unfortunately weak. Even so, everyone will be trying hard, won't they? They'll grow more and more... Although honestly he should probably work with Tristan more.
There's also Duchess, a fellow shiny, and one who likes Azur the most among the three. There's something about her that reminds Azur strongly of Ettie herself. Probably at how they're both very carefree and modest... in certain way that is. He just hope their pack will have one another. Also, the third member is... Princess. If he's guessing, she's probably in her Pokeball. Princess... how to say, she's very... Princessy? Prissy, sleepy, the kind that want to go by her own pace. Funnily she's not one one with Own Tempo ability (heh).
They're currently heading toward Cherry Town. He heard it's very sceneric there. It'll be a fun journey, he guess.
"Speaking of which, if you're tired, Ettie, you could just ride Zeit, alright?" he told his younger companion. Zeit in response barked in agreement. Thanks to both Anne and Ettie trying their best in ensuring he felt safe, he developed a rather strong bond with two of them. Zeit is still recovering, but compared to Azur, Ettie is much more lighter, and therefore he could let her ride on him easily.
Azur looked up toward the sky. It's... getting cloudier huh. "...Do you have any hood or raincoat, Ettie?" he asked. Umbrella is very not suggested while travelling. While in the city, sure, it's fine... On the road like this, though? Nope. Toxel Egg: 2/3

Things had been a flurry of activity, in the past week, for a young Ettie. Though she always had been a social butterfly, she didn't expect to meet Azur that fateful day - and in meeting him, she never expected to end up completely changing how she lived..! The past week had been filled with helping Azur out with odd jobs, doing a few odd jobs of her own, as she looked after her growing family - and even added onto it further..!
First, there was Anne the Rockruff - her dear sister, the one that she was most closely bonded with. Then there was Duchess the Electrike, one half to a duo, and a rambunctious young pup; though she didn't seem to ever get smug or prideful, and was a huge people pleaser. And thirdly, there was Princess the Snubbull - a sleepy pup who liked to spend most of the time dozing, when possible. And when she wasn't dozing? She'd quietly toddle on after them - sticking to Duchess' side, just like how Duchess tended to stick to hers.
In Ettie's opinion, she found it quite adorable, how quickly the two pups - though newly hatched and complete opposites - had near-instantly bonded with each other. Duchess was surprisingly mild when interacting with Princess, and Princess in turn was quite affectionate and snuggly with Duchess. In fact, even now, the two pups would be walking side-by-side with each other; Princess seemingly having had her fill of naps for the time being. The duo would trade occasional soft yips, as if having a conversation, whilst following Anne closely - looking up to her like a big sister, it seemed.
However, much like with Azur's growing party, those three weren't the only pokemon Ettie had on hand. No, in her arms, there was also a Lillipup egg; an egg she purchased off of a breeder, with a bit of the money she saved up doing odd jobs with Azur. It was hard to say whether or not adding yet another pup to the party was a good idea - given that they already had Princess and Duchess to look after - but... Ettie was confident that she and Anne could both handle it..!
Today, however, was going to be something quite new for Ettie. Today, she was heading out into the route that connected Plum City to Cherry Town; leaving the city for what she was pretty sure was the first time in her life...! A nervous and giddy energy would have her skipping along eagerly, wide and curious eyes staring all around at her new surroundings and all the new sights and sounds that came with it...!
Given that Plum Island overall was heavily forested, there was no surprised that Route 4 would be dominated by forest and woodlands; trees as far as the eye could see. Wind would rustle the foliage about them, as light peeked past the canopy above; casting the area in a dim speckled light that Ettie easily found beautiful. Just beyond their range of sight, wild pokemon could be heard wandering about and communicating to one another in screeches, chirps, and the like.
In a way, all of this would be a little overwhelming for Ettie - diving into such a new experience like this without any prior preparations - but... She wasn't scared! She wasn't alone out here, after all...!

As Azur - her current travel buddy - asked how she was holding up, Ettie would smile up to the older boy with a wide smile. "I'm doing great!! So many new sights, and sounds, and smells - it's almost too much with how different everything is, but it's also so amazing!!" She'd exclaim happily, giggling giddily as she ran ahead a few short paces. What were all these plants??? What were all the pokemon she was hearing??? Could she befriend any of them, perhaps????
Anne, having since grown comfortable with Azur and easily picking up on Ettie's excitement, would chip in with a bark of her own - tail wagging as she kept pace with her sister. Though the new environment did have her admittedly a little nervous - who knew what they might find out here, after all - she was ready to face it head-on, and Ettie's own enthusiasm was a powerful balm against any anxiety the Rockruff might feel.
Then, there was Azur's offer to ride on Zeit's back if Ettie got tired at all. At the mention of the adopted Arcanine, Ettie would glance to the fiery canine - smiling brightly, and letting out a happy "Arf!" back in his direction. She'd then turn her attention to Azur, mentioning "I'm fine now - walking all day is easier than climbing and jumping around all day!" with a brief giggle. "But thank you bunches, I'll keep it in mind!"
Anne, though, would walk alongside Zeit a bit - tail wagging calmly, as she barked up to him. How was he doing, she wanted to ask - curious of how he was faring. Going out into a forest like this must be a big change for him, just like it was for Ettie and herself, if he spent most - if not all - of his life in the city like they did...!
In the midst of the excitement though, Ettie didn't seem to notice the shifting weather - instead continuing to giggle happily as she crouched down, observing a patch of wildflowers that were growing at the edge of the road - pretty...! It was only when Azur would speak up - asking if Ettie had a hood or raincoat - that her attention would be brought to the way that the light would dim even further, before returning to its previous (comparatively brighter) dimness, as the clouds passed in front of the sun. Glancing upwards, she would even note how some of the clouds looked to be a gray, past the gaps in the canopy...!
"Yep, I got a hood...!" She'd finally respond to Azur, though; pulling up the aforementioned hood on her jacket, and grinning brightly to the older trainer. After a moment though, a hue of concern would cross her face - asking "What about you? If it's gonna rain, I don't want you getting wet, either...!"
The mention of rain had Duchess and Princess both looking curious - the first time they'd experience such weather firsthand. Anne, though, was less thrilled; she didn't like the rain...! Perhaps it partially had to do with the fact that she was a rock-type, but she wasn't exactly keen on having to deal with soaked fur...! She'd go up to Ettie - making a soft and disgruntled whine in her throat and pawing at her leg - to which the young girl looked down at Anne, her eyes lighting up in recognition.
Crouching down, Ettie would pet Anne's head reassuringly. "It's okay, Anne; I'll return you to your ball when it starts raining. Okay?" She'd offer; to which Anne, relaxing a bit at knowing that she won't have to put up with the rain, would respond in a soft yip. OOC: Popping an Electric Incense, and Duchess' Static is Active! At last, Shalin was away from the hustle and bustle of Plum City, the weather warming up enough for her to get the Water-types out and give them a chance to play. She stood alongside a content-looking Caprice and Serena, the oversized Ninetales and Persian stretching after the blonde had finished ensuring their tack was properly attached. While she didn't go overboard with the water-types, like she did on the trip here, she did bring Levy as well. While it wasn't quite warm enough for an underwater adventure - that would come in the hot summer - it would be good to have him around in case she hit the beach.
"Now just because you have a new hunting ground doesn't mean you can forget about me when you run after something," Shalin chided her prissy-looking Persian, who had her head tilted skyward and her eyes closed. "I mean it." The white cat opened her eyes and tilted her head forward once more as Shalin gently rubbed the top of her Persian's head. "That's a good girl!"
One issue that riding everywhere solved was at this time of year, her vibrant, green shirt and pants camouflaged well with the greens of the spring grasses common in the middle of the island. She had to stand out, or no one would even notice her even if she said something. She gently pat her Persian one more time before swinging her leg over her and mounting up. "Come on, Caprice, Serena, let's go!" The two entered a brisk canter, the rider's eyes shifting side to side.
Directly ahead was a forest that Serena seemed all too eager to want to hunt in, the slightly less excited Caprice still keeping pace. On the far sides were sand dunes, the strong waves washing them clean. "Easy!" Shalin tugged on her Persian to try to keep her from taking off too fast, but Serena didn't have any of it - she started taking long, bouncy strides that made Shalin giggle and whoop from time to time.
"Look out!" the scrawny rider cried, two trainers right in the middle of the road ahead of them, along with an Arcanine that was shorter than its trainer and some other smaller Pokémon. "You're gonna crash!" Shalin yanked back hard on the bounding feline, her mount extending her claws as far as she safely could and digging into the dirt with them. Caprice broke out into a swift Quick Attack, jumping around Shalin and Serena. The fire-type slid to a stop between the strangers and Serena, glowing with Extrasensory power to aid Serena in slowing down in case she couldn't stop fast enough on her own.

Mod note: Bug Incense used; 5/5 encounters remain.
A wild Clauncher has appeared! Biologically speaking, this would be a valid use of your incense, as Crustacea is a subfamily of Arthropoda. Isn't that fascinating!? Unfortunately, while it may be fascinating, it is not a Beedrill, and this box is getting really stretched out. So I bid you aideu!
So many new sights and smell, huh? He sympathized that. "That's how it feel the first time you go out to an open space like this!" Azur replied. "Clean air, smells of nature, pollens, the texture of the ground is also different! It's an entirely different thing from the city, plus you can hear a lot more in here due to no air pollution. For those with sensitive noses, it might be a bit annoying though..."
Just in time for Zeit sneezing. It was the poor Arcanine's first time going out in nature. He shook his head and sniffled. Azur's hand idly reached his head to give him scritches. "Feeling OK there, bud? Do you need some mask or something?" Azur asked. Zeit shook his head and barked at him. "So you think you'll manage eh? If you need anything you should voice it out, alright?" another bark of affirmation. Azur gently rubbed the Arcanine on the side of his cheek.
"I mean it won't be too bad to rest here and there. It's important to pace, alright? As for me... well, I guess I'm used to do crazy things. Back when I first started in my journey as a trainer, I'm alone with a single Pokemon, so... I have to do a lot by myself. I ended up used to it though, so no worries. Instead, if I get too fast for your pace, you should remind me, alright?" their legs length are different too after all. Hearing Ettie's bark, Zeit barked back and licked her cheek gently. Come to think of it, the big boy sure like Ettie huh.
Anne came to him asking how he's holding. Zeit barked back at her. It's funny that Arcanine doesn't quite have 'inside' voice. Their bark would end up like a big, booming 'boof'. Not to mention, apparently they're cross between dog and tiger, thus the specialized vocal cord toward roaring. Either way, it sounded like Zeit answered that he's holding up well. It was his first time, and honestly he's nervous, but he said he have to work hard to give example to the younger ones. Tristan upon hearing this countered with a cry of his own, asking whether Zeit not feel ashamed to admit his weakness just like that. Zeit shook his head. He feels it's natural, as there are a lot things that he should improve. Gusios the Bagon meanwhile stopped dancing and tilted his head. He wondered if there is any fight that going to break out between the two.
Does he have one? "Yeah, I do. Don't worry. I just need to pull it out and wear it. It's in my bag. I think it's best if we try to look for any place to shelter from the rain... If it gets rainy. Sure it's fun to trek in rainy days too especially in forest, but... At the same time, you don't want to get sick. Unless we're in hurry, I think it's good to just wait until it pass you k--"
Before could finish his sentence, suddenly Zeit grabbed him by his collar and pulled him aside.
Azur nearly dropped his Toxel's egg, which thankfully still secure but oh Arceus above, what the hell!? He looked at Zeit who looked apologetic, but isn't overly so. Did something happe--- uoh! So that is what happened! He also managed to stop Gusios from going too forward. Tristan meanwhile quickly take the fore, his wooden stick drawn like a sword. The Ralts eyed the stranger with understandable hostility, but... It doesn't take a smart guy to know that he's not even strong enough to even nip their knee. Zeit meanwhile barked at the rest of the team, asking if they're alright.
An affirmative one came from Gusios, albeit he's still frozen. It didn't take long though for him to also take the front and tried to make his meanest battle ready face. Zeit sighed and patted both lower levels. He hoped they could relax a bit. It doesn't sounds like they're going to attack after all. They're probably just... overexcitedly run their way here. Zeit barked once again at Azur, who still securing the Toxel's egg. "Oh, what? Oh, yeah, I'm fine. Uh... Let's see..." A ninetales and persian? Huge enough to be rideable too! Once again Arciel is such a strange place to have them Pokemons being that big. "...Please be careful next time," is all Azur can say to that. He's also not interested in doing any Pokemon battle, so... "Tristan, Gusios, calm down. We're not under attack or whatever... They're just going too fast, alright?"
Gusios obeyed immediately, but Tristan still distrusting toward the new trainer. "Tristan," Azur repeated, now firmer. Tristan clicked his tongue, and sheathed his stick. The Ralts returned to Zeit's side. looking moody. Once that's being taken care of, Azur looked at Ettie. "Are you all well?" he asked just in case. "Anyway, uh... do you need us to clear the road or something?" he asked to the other trainer finally.
Right there, though, happened a thing that usually called "fate waits no one". From the woodwork came out a Pichu, this one looks brooding, as brooding as Tristan, and the other is a... Blissey? It's not rare to see Blisseys busying themselves taking care of smaller Pokemons, but it's just funny seeing one acting like how his assertive mother does toward this Pichu who looked like he's having none of it. This Pichu... looked at Tristan. Already, it looked like sparks are flowing between them.
The Blissey meanwhile looked at him, and started to approach him. "Uh, hi?"
...And suddenly patted him? Eh? She's offering him egg? Eh? Azur looked at Zeit, who barked at the Blissey as a greeting. The Blissey returned the greeting, and seem to speak miles at Zeit, who looked confused. Basically, the Blissey noticed how Azur seemed to have a problem deep inside him, and he need a hug. She said that the Pichu is the same, but the boy does not want to be tended at all! How vexing! Zeit have no idea how to say all of this to Azur though...
"...I don't know what you're saying, Miss, but thank you?" Azur eats the offered egg. Yep, it's Blissey egg and it's delicious after all. Honestly, he seriously need a companion in this journey, one that can heal... "...Ettie, I'll try to befriend the Blissey... Here hoping she agrees to come with us!"
OOC notes: I and Tsuki decided to switch encounter.

Ettie would nod to Azur as he emphasized the importance of breaks; smiling brightly and reassuringly (even if she had to briefly cast Zeit a sympathetic glance; poor boy! Allergies were never fun...!) "It's okay!" She'd respond, adding as her smile grew into a grin "I'll let you know if I need anything, Azur; but thank you...!" She was confident that she wouldn't need any breaks and the whatnot, anyways. Though Ettie didn't have as much stamina as Azur did - that boy could probably run two marathons, she swore! - she still was fit enough.
Then Zeit would bark back, approaching to lick her cheek..! Ettie, though surprised, giggled in delight at this - grinning widely, and reaching up to ruffle the Arcanine's mane with one of her hands. (Though she wanted to do both hands, she wanted to keep her egg close by at all times!) "Dawwww, such a good boy!" She'd coo happily, booping their noses together briefly in a playful gesture. "Arf arf!" She absolutely adored Zeit just as much as he liked her - and she figured that he would always be welcome in her pack, even if he was Azur's pokemon in the end...! Family was family, after all!
As Zeit explained his feelings over the journey thus far though, Anne would nod along; mulling over his thoughts. Before long though, she would respond to Zeit with a bark, her tail wagging in a friendly and encouraging fashion. She, admittedly, was a bit antsy as well - given how she had grown up in the city. However, she believed that Zeit was doing quite well so far, even if he was feeling nervous.
Tristan's protesting cry, though, would draw the attention of the other dogs as well - Duchess and Princess both gazing between the Ralts, and Zeit.
The Snubbull would roll her eyes a bit - a disgruntled and lazy look about her, as if she had a hard time taking Tristan seriously. She'd grumble briefly - mostly talking to herself, and not to anyone in particular - over how Tristan seemed to have a bad habit of biting off more than he could chew, and that Zeit was gonna end up KO-ing him before they could even meet a single wild pokemon if they started a fight now.
Duchess, on the other hand, would lightly nip Princess - as if to chide the Snubbull - and yipped; pointing out that that wasn't very nice to say, even if it's to herself. Even that being said, though... Duchess couldn't help but admit - albeit not out loud - that Zeit would indeed have an advantage over Tristan. Even on top of being a little older and stronger in general, she was pretty sure that Zeit was an evolved pokemon as well...! Didn't that mean he'd be stronger than Tristan, even if they were both the same level...?
Princess, either way, shrugged at Duchess chiding her. If Tristan wanted to fight, that's his perogative; though she's still gonna think that he needs to take a serious chill pill. That fight happy nature of his was going to cause trouble one way or another; and just watching him try to challenge anything that so much as breathed in his direction was exhausting. Well, in any case, Azur would suggest that they look for some shelter from the rain, so that they didn't risk getting sick. Though probably a good idea for if they wanted to keep Anne out with them, as opposed to putting her in her pokeball... Ettie also kind of wanted to play out in the rain; she enjoyed doing it, during the warmer seasons like now...! She'd cooperate if Azur was absolutely sure on them finding shelter, but... Would a little rain really hurt that much?
However, she wouldn't exactly have much of a chance to actually voice any of this - Zeit pulling Azur aside, and Anne letting out a bark of alarm, as she tugged Ettie back and away from the massive Persian that was skidding on down the road...! Ettie, surprised, would yelp with a soft "Yipe..!" as she stumbled backwards - though this surprise would quickly fade into awe as a similarly huge Ninetales darted out, helping the Persian come to a complete stop..!
Though Caprice was technically not a dog or wolf - given that Ninetales were foxes - she was close enough to a canine to catch Ettie's attention. The young girl, her interest piqued, would slowly and carefully approach the much larger Ninetales once the Persian was able to stop; smiling widely and in awe. "Wowwww...." She'd softly breathe; looking Caprice up and down. "You're so pretty, and you're really big, too! Definitely way taller than me, ehehehe...! Hi there..!"
Ettie would be a bit too distracted to respond to Azur's question as to whether she was okay - but Anne would answer for her, giving an affirmative bark to him that they were all okay. Duchess, too, would yip in confirmation that she and Princess both were okay - the two hatchmates having leaped into a nearby bush for safety, though were now shaking off leaves and the such as they emerged.
However... Duchess, being the friendly and playful Electrike that she was, would soon bound up to Shalin and her pokemon - barking in greeting to the lot of them! She was eager to introduce herself and everyone else to Serena and Caprice, gesturing quite animatedly with her paw as she introduced Duchess, Anne, and Ettie. In addition though, she'd yip in comment over just how big the two were, compared to herself and her family! Certainly, Azur had said that Duchess and Princess both were larger than the average Electrike or Snubbull - but Serana and Caprice were on a whole other level...!
Anne, too, would bark her own greetings - though was far more calm than Duchess was; not wanting to overwhelm anyone by chatting them up while Duchess was already yapping up a storm. Instead, she'd simply keep close to Ettie's side - a protective hue to her behavior, with how big these other pokemon were, but otherwise calm and friendly enough.
Princess, meanwhile, just yawned a bit and plopped down next to Ettie; figuring there was no harm in sitting around and getting a power nap in, while they were all interacting with each other. A rustle in the foliage would soon draw her attention, however; the Snubbull cracking open an eye to see a pair of large fluffy ears, poking up from the grass. Just who was that, over there...?Lillipup Egg - 3/3

Shalin was squinting most of the time Serena's claws dug through the dirt road, as if it allowed her to muster the strength to avoid being flung over her Pokémon's head. Stopping just in front of the two, she inhaled deeply, then exhaled. Accident avoided! The green-dressed blonde waved at the muscled man and young girl traveling together. "Hey, sorry! Serena here just got a little excited," she greeted the two, gently patting the Persian's neck. Caprice sighed, shaking her head at her reckless partner. This was not the first time Serena nearly ran someone over. If Shalin had absolute say, this would be the last...but then other problems would arise - ones she would rather avoid.
Caprice looked irritated with Ettie swooning over her, the speed at which her tails fanned starting to increase. Her eyes rapidly shifted between Duchess and the trainer, the Electrike talking about a mile a minute. "Looks like you have a fan, Caprice! A couple of them!" Shalin said to her Ninetales, the rider's smile growing. The fire-type's facial expression was unchanging - apparently she couldn't take a compliment at all today.
Serena, on the other hand, was happy to brag to the Electrike about herself and her trainer. accepting the offer to bump paws. It was the closest these kind of Pokémon were going to get to a handshake. "May I ask what you two are up to?" the girl asked the two travelers. "I was taking my Milotic to the beaches near the town south of here--" She trailed off, noticing a Clauncher crawling across the forest road. Those were beach Pokémon - why were they so far inland? All it took was one glance to the west to ascertain why. Those were some dark and nasty storm clouds, and they were coming in fast. "The one day I wanted to ride the waves with Levy, and we get weather like this?" she pouted as Serena sounded a friendly purr.
Looks like all is well. Ettie is feeling well enough and that's all that matters. Zeit appreciates the gentle ruffling and returned back the affection with a lick... straight to the front of Ettie's face that is! Azur who looked at that just smiled wryly. That probably felt like your face being dragged by something wet and sloppy... probably. Although he knows that to Pokemon, human's attempt of repeating their words sounded pretty much like a gibberish, or at times same like someone repeating a word of a language they don't know how the syntax or the meaning worked, the emotions is passed on successfully...
...If he recalls it correctly, his teacher in nursing school called it "The Heart Speaks". Pokemon are apparently very familiar with this, and reason why different species of Pokemons seem could talk to each other well. Idly, his hand found Zeit's ear and scratched its behind, earning a relaxed whimpers from the Arcanine. Anne caught his attention next. The admittance that his smaller companion also not sure how to feel about her first outing made Zeit reassured. He barked in encouragement, in style of 'although I'm not quite dependable, I'll cover up for you if you need any help from me'.
There's apparently someone commotion behind him though. Zeit barked as if to inquire his companions if there are anything wrong, specifically toward Duchess and Princess. Princess herself is a lady of a high standard after all. Perhaps there is something that bothered her? Zeit being the evolved Pokemon seem to make him work as Azur team's de facto leader (albeit Tristan most likely did not want to acknowledge it)
Either way, after making sure that Ettie is fine (by bunting her lightly), Zeit returned back to Azur's side. The addition of the guests was quite amusing though... The Ninetales seem not having any of it with her expression being rather... annoyed? Zeit gently poked Duchess with his paw and barked, reminding her to slow down. Azur meanwhile focused himself on the trainer instead.
"Right, that's fine," he answered. "Just be careful next time, specially after switching offroad to onroad." ...lest someone got run over, but that's probably unlikely. She's asking question of what they're doing... Well about that... "We're just heading somewhere is all," Azur answered, not quite... comfortable of sharing where they're going all that much. "Cherry Town apparently, going by this road."
The weather is getting worse huh. "Ettie, ready your raincoat. Most likely it's going to storm."
The mention of 'storm' made Zeit growls in frustration. He hates storm. It's loud, it's wet, he's not all happy about it. If he can, he want to just hunker somewhere indoor, where the sound could not reach and he could feel warm. That would be dang nice. Gusios have no idea what they're talking of, so he instead checked on Princess, asking if she's fine... but then he also saw the ears! He poked Ettie to alert her of the incoming Pokemon! Is it a friend, or is it a foe? But unfortunately, before he could make sure, something happened.
Tristan and the Pichu has squared off. The reason? No reason, really. The Ralts is just aggressive, and there's something about this Pichu that just crosses him. The moment their eyes met, sparks already flying. Before long, the Ralts just approached the Pichu. They glared at one another... while Azur was talking with the Blissey. Azur meanwhile? He was worried, but the Blissey simply waved it off as if it's just kids playing. So... he decided that he'll impose on her.
"I'm sorry Miss, but may I have a bit of your time?" he have no idea why he's this polite to a Pokemon, but either way, he caught the attention of Blissey who seem to approvingly turned her attention at him. "I'm a Pokemon Nurse, you see. Yes, it's like a healer. I'm a healer who are travelling to perfect my craft and to heal as many Pokemon as possible..." yet somehow, the Blissey wagged her "hand". Eh? "Um, did you not trust me?" a shook of her body. "Um... then you trust me?" a nod. "Then what is the problem?" a gentle pat to his leg was the answer. What? The Blissey suddenly opened her arms. "...Eh? Um, I'm fine, don't worry..."
But yet the Blissey insisted on that position. Azur just smiled again. "No, no, I really am fine, don't worry..." yet again, she shook her body and stayed in that position. Ummmm... he's not quite sure what does she want. Does she want to hug him? But... Right... could this Pokemon sensed his sadness?
"...Alright, I guess you win. As expected, I'm still a green nurse after all, huh." She shook her body again. "Hmmm? That wasn't it?" Azur doesn't quite get what does she means but... "...Are you trying to say that... if I'm not 'healthy', I can't take care of anyone like that?" a nod, and an approving smile. So that was it. Azur approached the Pokemon and hugged her. There's a soft warmth that feels motherly. The Blissey somehow reminds him of his own mother. They're both the kind of women who will not take a 'no' or 'I'm fine'. To them, saying 'I'm fine' is simply words meant to be spoken to yourself rather than to those who knows who how much you're suffering.
"...Thank you... well, would you like to listen to my request then?" Azur asked. "...As you know, I'm traveling around, hoping to heal as many as I can... and well... I think it would be nice if you could join me in my journey. I don't want to rob you of your freedom of course. You're free to reject this request. But if you like to come with me, I'll be happy. I admit I'm bad at understanding people at times, so... I think I could learn more from you. So if you're fine with it, would you come with me... no, with us?"
Just at that moment, the egg on Azur's hand suddenly hatched! A purple Pokemon came out from the egg. It lifted the top of the egg, then poked a head out. Toxel, as expected. Azur chuckled. "...I think this little one would be happy if you join us too."
Azur puts a Pokeball on the ground. It's an Ultra Ball. "Here's your invitation."

Returning back to Tristan and Pichu, Tristan was the one who started it first. He attacked with Disarming Voice! While Gusios wanted to help his hatchmate, Zeit quickly stopped him, shaking his head. Tristan would probably take it as an insult if he get helped. Not to mention, it's against the normally known one versus one rule of Pokemon Battling. Tristan would not accept that sort of situation. The Pichu could feel his head rattled from the voice, but quickly shook his head. In turn, it sprinted all four to attack Tristan! The Ralts attempted to shook off the attacker with his wooden stick... but thing is, the wooden stick is just an accessory. Tristan was simply equipping it because it makes him "looks tougher". The Pichu instead used that stick as a leverage to jump and use Thunder Shock at him! Tristan let out cry of pain, his body convulsed slightly. The moment it settled, he immediately tossed the stick away. No more playing games.
For a while, both Pokemon repeated their tactics. Both of them are special attackers. The Ralts with its Disarming Voice, and the Pichu with its Thunder Shock. Tristan have an advantage that his attack will always hit, but the Pichu have advantage of higher level and the fact that if Tristan drops his guard, even for a bit, the Pichu will end up paralyzing him. Both Pokemon's other moves such as Tail Whip, Charm and Growl will not affect battle the slightest. That's why both of them just repeating their only known attacks. A fatal mistake happened though. Ralts' gown are long, and sometimes it ends up tripping the Ralts. Tristan unfortunately fell, and the Thunder Shock hits him squarely! Tristan cried out in pain, his nerves once again assaulted by tingling feeling. Unlike the previous time though... Tristan felt that he's having trouble to even stand up straight.
Paralysis.
The Pichu grinned, putting his arms on his hips. Not so brave anymore, is he? Tristan glared back at his opponent in distaste.
"Tri--" before an order to switch out called out, the Blissey from before shook her body and stopped the trainer. She want Azur to understand that Tristan does not want to switch out, even if he's paralyzed. Another Thunder Shock came at him, and Tristan was helpless to defend against it. He only can voice out his pain, without actually able to attack. In a protest, Gusios wanted to step in to switch his hatchmate, but immediately, Tristan cried out to stop him. In a "this is my fight" way, Tristan stood back up again.
Shaking his head, the Pichu wiggled his tail in taunting manner. Looks like there's hint of arrogance in his personality. Tristan, feeling that his body finally responding rather than assaulted with the prickly sensation, immediately cried out a frustration-filled Disarming Voice. The Pichu had not expected it, and was hit. His head rattled. Tristan probably no longer strong enough to fight, but... He cried at Azur, as if saying "What are you doing, get it already!"
Looks like Tristan sensed that the Pichu might become an asset...? Either way, Azur immediately tossed a Pokeball toward the weakened Pichu! OOC Note: Azur tried to befriend the Blissey and tried to catch the Pichu! Used items: Ultra Ball (Blissey) Pokeball (Pichu)

Duchess and Princess both would perk up at Zeit's inquiring bark - though both canines would yip back, reassuring the larger Arcanine that they were okay, just talking. Duchess decided it'd be for the best to avoid a fight, if they didn't mention that Princess was dissing Tristan a little bit here... If the Ralts figured it out, a brawl would brew for sure; and Duchess had a feeling that Princess wouldn't back down from that...!
Then, there was Shalin and co; poor Caprice looking agitated, with all the attention that she was getting...! Ettie, blinking a bit, seemed to get the idea - smiling a bit sheepishly. "Was I too loud?" She'd ask Caprice softly, sitting down on the ground so as to make herself appear smaller (as if she wasn't small enough, being almost 2 feet shorter than Caprice) and less threatening. "Sorry, I'll calm down for you, friend!" Ettie would murmur - her volume dropping a bit. "I've never seen a Ninetales as big as you before is all..."
Even that being said though, she would fidget a bit at place - still clearly awed and excited over the new trainer, and the new big pokemon...! Going on journeys like this really did bring a bunch of new experiences with them, huh?
Duchess, meanwhile, would make a surprised yip at being poked - before glancing to Zeit, listening to the other's gentle reminder. This would prompt a hint of bashfulness in the Electrike - though she would nod in understanding, whining in apology to Caprice as well. She didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable, after all...!
Serena, though, seemed to be enough to cheer Duchess back up; yipping in response, as she happily and eagerly listened to the Persian's bragging..! It certainly raised a question in the young Electrike's mind, as to whether she and Princess would both get to be as big as they were, once the two sisters evolved...!
As Azur warned about the weather getting worse, Ettie would blink - her head snapping in the older trainer's direction - before nodding in response. "Got it..!" She'd pull up the hood to her jacket, and zip it up - smiling sympathetically to Zeit, as the Arcanine made a frustrated growl. "Zeit and Anne don't really like this sort of weather; it's probably because they're a rock type and a fire type, if you ask me. Anne tends to like to stick to her ball, whenever it does start raining." She'd comment to Caprice idly, before tilting her head; asking the Ninetales "Do you like rain at all? Or nah?"
Speaking of which... She'd glance over to Anne; the Rockruff casting uncertain glances upwards. "Do you want to go back in your ball now, Anne?" Ettie would ask - to which the Rockruff mulled it over... Before shaking her head no. She could get away with waiting a little longer, she imagined...
... especially given the fact that Azur and Shalin weren't the only ones being visited by wild pokemon...! At Gusios' poking, Ettie would glance over - and she, too, would spot the ears poking out of the grass..! Ettie's eyebrows raised in visible curiosity, and she'd glance to the other canines - "Keep a close eye on the egg, okay guys?" - and set her Lillipup egg down with them once they gave their barks of affirmation in response. With both hands free, Ettie would slowly creep towards the grass - low to the ground - to investigate just what was over there...
"Arf..!"
... and - perhaps strangely enough - proceed to let off a bark at the grass, once she got near..!
For a few long moments, the pokemon in the grass was quiet - only taking a surprised step back, if the backwards motion of the ears was to imply anything. However, before long... Ettie would hear a soft, almost inquiring, yip in response from this mystery pokemon.
Ettie's eyes lit up at this, and she'd smile brightly; hunkering down in a stance that resembled a play bow - even stranger, than her barking tendencies. She was acting less like a person, and more like a pokemon...! "Aroof!" She'd bark again, bright and playful and eager, as she tried to initiate play with the mystery wild pokemon..! She was eager to make friends with whoever it was hiding in the grass - eager to befriend another pokemon who they could add to the pack...!
Once more, things would initially be quiet in response - the pokemon didn't back away this time, though Ettie could see how the probably-canine's head tilted to one side by the motion of their ears. Soon enough, however... A wild Lillipup would spring forward from the grass, with another yip of her own...! This little pup was rather calm - similar to Anne - though still had a wagging tail, willing to take up on this strange human's invitation to play.

Cherry Town, south of here, hmm? Better than having to throw together a makeshift shelter on short notice. Anything to get her out of the way of this weather - those dark clouds did not look friendly in the slightest. "The name's Shalin, not 'Miss', by the way," the girl introduced herself when prompted. "Shalin Nariya, wildest rider this side of--" She stopped when she realized Azur was speaking to the Blissey. Wait, Blissey in the wild, here? They were one of the most timid of all Pokémon in the wild, usually hiding at even signs of a human nearby.
The rider nudged Serena to start walking toward Ettie and give the two some space, Caprice quickly following. Shalin rolled her eyes and started explaining to the young trainer, "She's just wary around people is all. Back in Johto, larger Pokémon like her go for a lot of money. I wouldn't be surprised if she was illegally trafficked before I ran into her." The Ninetales turned toward Shalin and scowled with red, menacing eyes, completely ignoring Ettie's question. "...As long as it's not too heavy, she doesn't mind rain," the lithe female answered, awkwardly changing the subject.
Once Ettie dropped to the ground and barked like a canine would, Shalin squinted toward her quizzically. What was the young one doing, trying to call on a specific kind of Pokémon by pretending to be a Pokémon? The more she thought about it, the more she relaxed and realized it wasn't too far off from her quirk of being a so-called "wild rider"; given the opportunity, she wouldn't be beyond sneaking up on a wild Pokémon and holding on for dear life! She was half lost in thought, half paying attention to Ettie as she played with the Lillipup that seemed far too affectionate for a wild Pokémon. "Perhaps she has an affinity for dogs?" she mumbled, Serena growing more defensive after hearing her trainer's thoughts aloud.

"Crossed cables," Azur told Shalin. "Sorry about that."
Well, as much as Azur is polite, he wouldn't exactly call Shalin a "miss"... young miss probably. Unfortunately, during Tristan and the Pichu's battle, Azur's Ultra Ball have unfortunately destroyed before the Blissey could decide. She was... definitely not amused. She tapped her foot on the ground. Something tells Azur that he only have one last chance... Drats. For the meantime, he looked at the Toxel on his arm. He should probably put... Azur checked for any gender markings, and found out that this one is a her. "Right so... Your name is Scathach."
With that matter put aside, Azur put Sca on Zeit's back. The Toxel just looked around in half a daze, half watching manner. It's a big world that's for sure, and she began to register different sounds around her... It might take a bit while for her to get used to it, but at least for the meantime she's looking at Ettie with Toxel's usual unimpressed gaze. It's not that she's unimpressed. Her face is naturally like that.
"I'm sorry about that, Miss... Can we try again?" Azur asked, to which the Blissey just sighed and nodded. She seem to be skeptical of Azur's ability to control his team... and well, she's not wrong. For the meantime, it was a blessing that Tristan is tired and need a bit of a rest before he could go again. Gusios scolded him for destroying the ball, but Tristan seem to take offense to it. He looked aside, muttering something along the line it's thanks to him that they got new ally.
Azur sighed. He pretty much can guess what they're talking about, but either way... "...I'm sorry about that. I'm admittedly very new in this you see... And well, I'm not good at controlling some of my Pokemon do. We started in wrong foot, and in turn he doesn't quite appreciate me. But I really can't just like that abandon him. It's just not right. He was bred by an illegal breeder. In turn it made him smaller. I was worried, but he took that worry as an offense toward his small stature. He wanted to prove it to many that he's strong... With how we started in wrong foot, I think it will take a long time for me to guide him. That's why, I'd like to get Pokemons who could cover up my weakness. I understand this might sound very weak... but even so, I want to change. And I want to improve."
Azur put down another Ultra Ball once again. It might sounded like he's desperate, but what can he do? He really want to recruit this one. Her sassy nature might be a bad combination with many of his team, but... It's the needed bitter pill. He's sure if he could recruit her to his team, he somehow can make it work... With Tristan especially, and most likely with that Pichu. Speaking of that Pichu, it looked like he's quite fast, isn't he?
He noted that Ettie herself has... decided to look at the bushes?
"Ettie, what's up there?" he asked. BEFRIENDING ATTEMPT 2! ULTRA BALL, GO!
Current Party: Tristan (Ralts lv2) (4/5) Zeit (Arcanine lv2) (5/5) Gusios (Bagon lv1) (5/5) Scathach (Toxel lv1) (5/5)
Ettie's expression would be quite sympathetic as Shalin explained Caprice's wariness; nodding along quietly. "... That must've been scary..." She'd whisper softly and briefly, though wouldn't go further into that subject - especially considering the large Ninetales' scowl. Was it an uncomfortable subject, for the fox...? She wouldn't blame Caprice - being stolen away from your home, by unfamiliar people, sounded terrifying... It was a good thing, in Ettie's opinion, that Caprice seemed to be with such a friendly trainer now...!
Either way, Shalin was quick to change the subject - answering about how Caprice didn't mind the rain, as long as it wasn't heavy. Ettie, a smile returning to her face, would giggle as she nodded. "This is gonna be the first time that Duchess or Princess experience rain." Ettie would explain - gesturing to the Electrike and Snubbull in question. "They're still really young, so I'm excited to see how they react to this new weather, myself...!"
As if to answer the not-question for Ettie, Duchess would pipe up with a bark; her tail wagging. She was ready to face this new experience, whatever it was, head on; there was just something in the air with this encroaching storm, that she really liked..! With the storm coming closer, her fur had even begun to visibly spark - something that's perfectly normal for Electrikes like herself, but still was quite eye catching - and Princess looked rather curious about the phenomenon! (Even if she still had a lazy and sleepy look to her, that is.)
But then, there was the Lillipup in the grass, that Ettie had drawn out with her invitation to play...! Certainly, perhaps it's odd for a wild pokemon to approach a human so easily - but any pokemon would have their curiousity at least a little piqued, if a human approached them pretending to be like them! And this Lillipup was no different; briefly sniffing the air, her gaze casting over the other trainers and pokemon present, before glancing back to Ettie.
Ettie, meanwhile, didn't seem to be paying any mind over Shalin's and Scathach's gazes on her - simply giggling happily and playfully to the Lillipup. "Hi there!" She'd chirp to the small canine - still hunched down on her hands and toes in a playbow-like position as she bounced back a couple paces. "Do you wanna play with us? I bet my pack would love to meet another puppy like you!"
As if to prove Ettie's point, Duchess and Anne would both bark their greetings; tails wagging. The wild Lillipup would blink in their directions, tilting her head a bit thoughtfully as she considered Ettie's offer... Before turning towards the grass, and barking at it..!
Ettie was initially a little curious of just what the Lillipup was up to; relaxing down into a knelt position, as she glanced towards the grass. Hearing Azur call out to her, she'd glance towards the older trainer, smiling brightly. "I'm making a friend!" She'd declare to him in response, giggling happily. However - glancing back towards the grass as it began to rustle - of the things that she might have expected to be hiding in there...
