"Okay everyone, are we ready?!"
It would be a bright and sunny morning, just on the outer edges of the boundaries of Plum City, where Ettie and her pack would be gathered today. It was a rather open area, and it was a spot that some trainers seemed to use for quick training sessions on the regular - if the beaten path, the telltale signs of scuffles and sparring, and the tracks in the ground were anything to imply - and it would be here, that Ettie decided that some of her team needed some training, so as to catch up the weaker pack members to their stronger packmates. (Not to mention, Ettie was somewhat tempted to hit the gyms, once everyone got strong enough..!)
As a result, only four of ther six teammates would be here at the moment - Anne, Ruffian, Duchess, and Princess, all lined up at the starting point for a makeshift cross between a running track and obstacle course of sorts, that ran around the outer edge of the area. Filling in for Pierre and Aurien, would be a pair of eggs - Yamper eggs, that Ettie had bought from a breeder, and that she was hoping to hatch today so that they could get in on the training excitement, too...! They'd be hanging out in Ettie's bag - the young girl having temporarily turned it into a nest of sorts by stuffing her blankets around the eggs, so that they both would be warm and safe while she lined up alongside her pokemon; prepared to race alongside them. After all, if her pups were gonna be training, then why not train with herself up alongside them?
As Ettie called out to make sure that everyone was prepared for the race she had in mind, all the pups would - one by one - bark their confirmations that they were ready, with varying degrees of enthusiasm. Duchess and Anne, of course, were both ready for a good run; being that Anne enjoyed running alongside Ettie, and Duchess just loved running in general. Ruffian, meanwhile, was ready to go; although... He wasn't so much in it for the fun of it, like Anne or Duchess or Ettie were. Instead, he was more in it to get stronger, and to win; he wanted to prove that he's plenty tough, despite his comparatively small size...!
And then, there was Princess - who was the least enthusiastic of the four. Ettie was smart enough to let the Snubbull get plenty of sleep ahead of time - so she wasn't itching too much for some sleep, as a result - though Princess was still not a very active pokemon, being content to just spend time with her siblings when she's not dozing off 75% of the time. The only thing keeping the Snubbull invested in this impromptu race, was the fact that Duchess was competing - and so, she wanted to be there to quietly root her sister on, and see if she could keep pace with the hyperactive Electrike.
With everyone confirming that they were ready to go though, Ettie would grin; turning her gaze on ahead, down the road. "Alright then, everyone; on the count of three!" She'd call; hunkering down, and watching out of the corner of her eye as her pups did the same. "One..."
"... Two..."
"... THREE..!"
At the signal, the fivesome would start off at a run - darting ahead on the track...! Duchess, being the speedy electric type that she was, would take the lead with ease - running ahead of the pack with an exciteable bark. Ettie and Anne both right be on her tails though, the two seeming to be keeping pace with each other - whether this was purposeful or not is hard to say, though. Ruffian, despite his best efforts, would come in at fourth - growling a bit in frustration as he realized this - while Princessess, being the slowpoke that she was, would be in last place; lumbering along at her own pace, without any particular worry about winning.
The first portion of this track would be a straight run, nothing fancy or surprising; as a result, the current places would remain more or less the same! While Anne and Ettie were able to keep on Duchess' tail, and Ruffian on the duo's tail as well, Princess' gap between herself and Ruffian would be sizeable; the Snubbull not too worried about keeping pace with everyone else, and instead sauntering along as she pleased.
However, then the track began to curve back and forth, around a few large trees. Duchess, with her fast speed, seemed to lack a bit on the turns; skidding on the first couple of curves when she wasn't able to turn fast enough, and being forced to slow down on the subsequent curves of the track...! Anne and Ettie, however, both would have a comparatively easier time; these curves were just shallow enough that it was no different from the 90 degree turns of the streets of Plum City; and even with Duchess' lead and their somewhat slower speed, they were able to close the gap between themselves and the Electrike...! Ruffian, too, would be able to handle the curves with ease; his claws digging in the ground for traction as they ran.
Princess, leisurely, sauntered along the curves without any trouble whatsoever, with her slow speed.
Before long though, these curves would lead to their first true obstacle; a climbing portion to this track/obstacle course combo! There would be a pair of slopes, steep and rough on either side, that the pokemon would need to both climb over, and descend down. This would end up being another wrench in Duchess' plans of 'go very fast', given that though she was good at going fast... She wasn't exactly all that great at climbing...! She'd be forced to slow down to avoid tripping or falling down as she ascended the slope; allowing for Anne and Ettie to catch up, the duo being great at climbing about with their upbringing - Ettie ascending on all-fours as she did...! Meanwhile Ruffian, while not quite as fast or agile, would still be able to ascend the two slopes at a decent click.
Duchess couldn't help a slight grumble as she fell behind the other three, as a result of not being the best at climbing; even if she wasn't truly angry, one couldn't help being a bit frustrated at falling behind, when she was doing so good before...! Sparks would crackle across her fur as she attempted to leap her way up the slope, jump by jump, to try and catch up to the other three before they got too far ahead..! What she wouldn't expect though, was for - with each pulse of electricity crackling across her fur - the way that she began to feel... Almost lighter, in a way?
In fact, she'd begin to feel so light - electromagnetic energy building in her fur - that she'd proceed to leap partway over the peak of the first slope, which allowed her to - with another leap - float over the second slope! The other three would be bewildered at this; watching as Duchess floated her way back into the running, managing to catch up to the others with an eager and excited bark...! She wasn't sure what exactly she was doing, or how; but it sure worked...!
Princess, meanwhile, was just continuing to vibe as she pleased as she eventually reached and begun ascending the slopes, just as the other four continued on past the obstacles.
Once more, there'd be a couple more curves, which Duchess - by now - had found her balance between speed and handling; allowing her to keep pace with Anne and Ettie, the three of them neck-in-neck, whilst Ruffian was right behind and on the trio's tails. Thankfully though, there weren't as many turns as the last time; the track soon returning to a straight shot that Duchess was able to retake the lead with; running up ahead, now that she was able to reach full speeds once more.
However, then came the next obstacle: a few sets of hurdles, of varying heights! Duchess was able to jump the first set of hurdles - with them being lower down - and even the slightly higher second set...! Even while the second set gave her trouble, it seemed that that floating trick of hers was coming into use; the electricity running across her fur growing more concentrated briefly - especially around her paws - as she got a greater hang on this new move of hers...! This was great..!
Even with this new gift of her's, though... It was simply making her lighter and floatier; it was not true flight. As a result of this, she'd try her hardest to clear the third set of hurdles; yet to no avail, the hurdles being much to high for her. She'd instead impact into them with a yelp; bringing her to a sudden stop that'd allow Anne and Ettie both to take the lead once more...! Ettie was able to more carefully leap over the third sets, awhile Anne - instead of jumping over it - would proceed to squeeze underneath the third set...! Ruffian, upon noticing this, would follow her lead - leaping over the first set. but allowing his smaller to let him easily duck under the next two sets, as he begins to catch up to the others with ease..!
Princess would eyeball the hurdles, and would casually climb over them one by one with little grunts.
They were now reaching the final stretch - Anne and Ettie were, currently, in the lead - though Duchess was catching up once more in another straight portion of the track, and Ruffian was tied with the Electrike for the time being...! Who would win this race was hard to say, with their different advantages and disadvantages; but one thing was safe to say... It was likely that the next - and final - obstacle up ahead would decide who the victor of this race was...!
For this last portion, there would be sets of large poles set up - forcing one to zigzag between them, as quickly as they can, to get to the other side...! This sudden zigzagging would be difficult for Duchess to maintain her speed on, though; whereas Ettie and Anne, who were used to weaving themselves through crowds, would be able to similarly weave past the poles. What no one expected, though, was for Ruffian to catch up and keep pace with the duo so easily; the Lillipup's small size making this obstacle quite easy for him to zigzag through...!
Which then, would bring them on another straight stretch to the finish line. Ruffian would take the lead, but Anne and Ettie were catching up with him - while Duchess was right behind the duo, and picking up speed as she got past the poles. The pack was neck in neck, they were all approaching the finish line, they were almost there....!
... And as a group of four, they would all proceed to practically trip over themselves and each other, as they'd all tumble just shy of the finish line, all at once...! There would be yelping, barking, and laughter as the quartet ended up in a tangled pile of girl and dog alike; the group all panting for breath. Ruffian, seeming to be the only one out of the four who realized that the race had not been won yet, would attempt to squirm out from underneath Anne - yet couldn't quite get himself untangled from the pile. Frustrated at this, he'd bark at them to get off of them...
... And would manage to squeeze himself halfway free, just in time to see Princess catch up to the group - giving them all a neutral look. Raising an eyebrow, the Snubbull would pull a stunned Duchess loose, before casually - and with scarily surprising ease, given their identical sizes - hefting the Electrike with her, across the finish line...! Only about then, would Ruffian be able to get himself free - and would grumble in dismay upon realizing that Duchess and Princess had won. Still... Third place wouldn't be so bad, he guessed; trotting over the finish line, attempting to tilt his nose up in a smug fashion. There. How was that for a race?!
Anne and Ettie, meanwhile, seemed to be sharing a good laugh; the duo getting up, and dusting themselves off as they caught their breaths. "That... T-that was fun, pftahahaha!" Ettie laughed; smiling brightly to the others. Anne and Duchess both would bark their agreements, as Princess simply focused on nuzzling Duchess; clearly happy that she was able to secure the lead for her sister, even though she was taking it all slow and easy. Ruffian was satisfied enough with his third place to not be upset, meanwhile; yet also knew better than to be too smug about it, given the fact that he wasn't in first place.
Instead, he'd simply strut over to one of the water bowls that Ettie had set up for everyone; getting some refreshments. Anne and Princess, too, would follow his lead, getting some drinks of water as well. However... Before Duchess could wander off, Ettie would speak up - commenting "You looked like you learned a new trick there, during the race, Duchess!" The Electrike in question would pause, glancing back to Ettie... Before nodding a bit! She wasn't sure what it was, but it sure was a new trick! Smiling, Ettie would sit down with Duchess; petting her, and not even caring about the jolt that she'd receive in the process from the Electrike's fur. "Mind showing me that again, if you can? It looked pretty cool...!"
Duchess would take a second, before nodding, barking in confirmation as she bounced back a short distance. She'd think back a bit to the two times she had used it - during the climbing and hurdle sections of the track - and focus on the sensations that it came with, the floatiness, the electricity that focused on her paws... And before long, she'd be doing it again - using Magnet Rise - as she managed to make herself float, a few inches off the ground...!
While it wasn't true flight, it was still quite impressive; and Ettie, amazed, would smile brightly. Laughing, she would clap her hands in excitement, praising "That's great, Duchess..! I bet that'll come in handy, in the future...!" The praise would have Duchess' tail wagging, and she'd bark eagerly; taking a second to figure out how to move around while floating like this, so that she could come up to Ettie, and lick her happily..! Ettie would respond with another laugh and a pat on the head - teasing "Go get yourself some water and take a break, you goober!" with a gentle push in the direction of the water bowls. Duchess, a people pleaser as always, would comply with a playful bark; landing on her feet so that she could go and join her packmates in relaxing and refreshing oneself.
Ettie, meanwhile, would go to check on the two Yamper eggs - which, while they still weren't quite hatched, were gently rocking - and grabbed her water bottle as she did, so that she could drink from it. Already, today's training was starting off with plenty of positive vibes; and already, someone had learned an exciting new move from it...! However, Ettie and her pack wouldn't be the only ones gathered here today. Glancing over to Azur and his pokemon, Ettie grinned brightly; waving widely to him and calling "Heyyyy Azuuuurrr~! How's training going for you, Azuuurrr??" with a bright giggle. It seemed that the young girl was already in a great mood, even after working hard as she was..! "Duchess learned a new cool move; did you see it?!"
Maybe, once everyone caught their breaths, she and her pack could train with Azur and his pokemon proper..! OOC: Duchess is taught Magnet Rise via Tutor Move Guide, replacing Leer! Am also going to train Ettie's agility from all of her running about...!

Training, it's been a long time. Azur took out a wooden clip pad from his bag and put on several pieces of papers. The idea is to takes notes while training his Pokemons... this honestly reminds him of the past... but as nostalgic he's feeling, he had to remind himself that he's no longer a trainer... he's... no longer qualified. In the end, he just decided to follow his Pokemon's desires instead. As for the teams for the meantime...
Tristan, Gusios, Zeit, Scathach, Ciela, and the Jigglypuff... He have yet to name her, but the team is quite... problematic. Sans Zeit and Scathach, who are bold and serious, the other four are rash, hasty, or sassy... Ciela is busy momming everyone, Tristan wanted to train on his own, Gusios is playing around, Jigglypuff... alerted at every single movement and apparently trying to heal everyone... Speaking simply, she's a nervous wreck.
....welp.
He need to catch their attention somehow. Azur blew a whistle, stopping all six Pokemon in track (well, Zeit and Scathach doesn't need to be stopped considering Zeit is right beside him, Sca meanwhile is on top of Zeit. Both of them looking at the rest of the Pokemons). "Alright, alright, I understand what you all want to do... Uh... Lizbeth!" he called the Jigglypuff. "Stop healing the rest while they're fully healed! They're not hurt or anything. Please just conserve your energy! Gusios, stop chasing your tail for now, you're getting all dizzy again... Ciela... Ciela, please do not mom Tristan for the meantime and let him say what he want first... Tristan, I'm doing this for your sake, don't just run away like that!"
...It's already a chaos, but... he guess he need to rein all of them in.
"...Alright, let's... return to the beginning. Ciela, please come here for a bit. Lizbeth, you too... Yes, Lizbeth... no, I'm not going to scold you, please don't look at me like that..." it's really amusing to see the sassy mother and the newbie of the group came together. Ciela is slapping Lizbeth's back like telling her "grow some spine! It'll be alright!" while Lizbeth, being the nervous wreck of a newbie is almost in tears thinking she's in trouble. "...Alright, so... Ciela, I'd like you to tell Lizbeth about the team's personalities, preferences, what they're like when in battle and outside of it. Liz, I want you to listen to Ciela carefully. She's the team's caretaker before you. In situation where I need one of you when another is downed, I need to make sure both of you are in sync so there are no difference whether Ciela or you are in duty, so I'll leave you two to your own devices, alright? Ciela, I'll return to you later. I'd like you to learn Heal Bell."
The Blissey nodded in approval. That's a move that she'd like to learn herself, so score! Meanwhile, Azur walked toward Gusios, who now stopped chasing after his tail. "...Gusios... For your training menu, what sort of moves would you like to learn?" Gusios looked at him, not quite getting it. He seem to be interested in learning moves that could help him becomes all rounder it seems. "Hmmm... Well I guess I can teach you dragon pulse later.. also Zen Headbutt perhaps? For the meantime, however, please train with Tristan."
Tristan meanwhile looked at him. After what happened with Zeit, looks like Tristan has mellowed some, although not entirely. He seem to be more receptive of Azur's orders at the very least.
"...Tristan, what do you want to evolve as?" he asked. Tristan readied two sticks, showing his preference. "So you have decided on Gallade. Very well... I'll get back to you later..."
And there's Sca and Zeit. "...Zeit, I think you know what I'll be saying, but... I have promised you to prove it to your old trainer how silly it is to abandon a Pokemon... It was not something I like the slightest. That's why I'm going to give you some more moves pool just in case. I have several ideas, but what came to mind at the moment is Heat Wave. I'm going to teach it now to you.. As for you.. Sca... Sca? Sca?"
Scathach, who was supposed to be on top of Zeit's head wasn't there. If anything... she's completely disappeared! Azur looked around for the sight of the Toxel, but... he wasn't able to find her, until Ettie suddenly approached. "Oh hey," it was uncharacteristically hasty of him. "Um, sorry, but have you seen Sca? I mean, she's not a fast baby Pokemon, but at the same time I can't help but to get worried..."
And where could the baby be? She's actually approaching Duchess! It's seem that she's just... interested in knowing what Princess and Duchess are doing. Immediately after, she plopped about five meters away from the two dog Pokemons. Noticing that Scathach is there, Azur grabbed the baby. If he remembered about it, Toxels have nothing to teach, nothing to learn until they become Toxtricity... Yeah, that going to take a looong while it seems...
"Sorry about that," he told Ettie after dropping Scathach to both Ciela and Lizbeth. "Sca is curious about her surrounding, and well... she really love observing fellow Electric type I guess... There's that Static of Duchess too. I think she just overall attracted with Duchess' ability? Hmmm... I wonder if Duchess would mind playing with Sca... though I have no idea what sort of 'play' would Sca is interested in... As for how we're doing, as you can see, it was chaotic... Everyone wanted to do whatever they want to do, they're not quite... cooperative."
Now at least it's much more organized though. Gusios and Tristan sparred, Ciela still talking miles to Lizbeth about the team's good points and bad points (She seems more to ranting than anything, really), Scathach eyes wandering between the Blissey and Jigglypuff, and Zeit... he just simply waited for his order. Well, enough opening.
"I'm heading to Tristan for the meantime. Zeit, please go with the other canines for the meantime, alright?"
Zeit barked and walked over to Duchess and Princess. He barked at them again, asking if they would like to spar somehow. Sparring is nice way to improve. Now that he's stronger than Anne, he could give the younger canines as much pointer as Anne did to Gusios and Tristan. It's only fair for the oldest of the pack to guide the youngsters, right?
Meanwhile, Tristan... Azur approached him. "Taking a break?" Azur asked, to which Tristan nodded to after a few moment of silence. "...I might not be the best when it comes to fighting with swords, but I do know some tricks, Tristan." and Azur soon straped two sticks on his arms, trying to make it into swords like Gallade.
"I don't have any sword attacks to teach to you at the moment, considering you're still Ralts, but I'll teach you how to fight with swords... especially dual wield."
Azur began his combos, which looked as if he's slashing with arm chop. "Gallade's 'swords' are their arms. It's different from handling swords like you do. The idea is to slash at high speed, or combine it with martial arts..." Azur kicked the air. "So you have to catch your opponent off guard. Your small size means you will have trouble with bigger opponents in direct confrontation. Defending with your arm swords are easier than defending with sword that you hold, but even then you have to remember your sword is also your arm. if you injure yourself trying to defend, you won't be able to attack anymore... That's why... the idea is..."
Azur kicked a dummy present in that place, then rushed in, while slashing at the flank of the dummy. "You do that. Your small size will be an asset.... Tristan?"
Tristan looked at his trainer in awe. Have he been misjudging his trainer this entire time? He thought that his trainer is just a nagging guy who can't appreciate his small size or his spirit. He had no idea what Zeit is doing bowing his head toward this guy either. Zeit is strong... why is he sticking with this guy? Is it just debt? But the loyalty the Arcanine shows wasn't exactly just a debt or something... But now he get it and appreciate him some...
"...Um, Earth to Tristan? Do you copy?"
Ha! The Ralts was so caught up that he finally put on his cool facade again. He nodded after a bit and then with the pointers given to him by Azur, tried to mimic what he's doing. That's good enough. "...Alright, I think I know what to teach you... I did said that your speed is important... I don't think you have any status raising moves at the meantime, so... Wanna try giving debuff a go?"
Tristan tilted his head, as if he doesn't understand. "What I'm going to teach you is this ability called Icy Wind. The idea is that it will cause hypothermia to your opponent so they're sluggish and slow. You know how when you're cold you will be a bit sluggish? That's the idea..."
Speaking of which he had no idea that Zeit is currently watching something... Come to think of it, he does bought a Tutor Machine before coming here, right? But that was Teleport, which was something that he wanted to teach to Tristan as a peace offering or sort... He had no idea why Zeit is so interested in it, but eh well, whatever.
"Returning to the topic... Basically, you're to blow up icy wind from your mouth. We don't have any ice Pokemons at the moment sadly, so I can't ask them to teach you... But do you get it if I say if you pass a wind through a very small opening, it will become colder? You should try exhaling, then slowly make your mouth smaller. Feel your breath becomes cooler inside your lungs, then fire it out."
The first time Tristan tried, it was only a normal wind, but as he tried more and more, there is a speck of cold. Azur nodded in approval. For the first time, it looked like they properly became a Trainer and Pokemon. Tristan practiced it several more times, seem to getting hang of it. It will take him a bit while to master it, but surely, slowly, he's improving. Before long, he tried it out on the dummy.
"Alright, Tristan. I need you to remember this... On the air, there are a lot of moisture... They're similar to water droplets. When you're using the Icy Wind, the more moisture the better for hastening the chill. Anyway, keep on practicing and it should be great enough, alright? For pointer, let's see... Try to aim for the leg or the chest first and foremost. Usually it would immediately work. Good luck, alright?"
...Next... Gusios, eh... "Gusios, what I'm going to teach you is a move called Dragon Pulse. It's a moves well known to most Dragon Pokemons... Dragon Pulse is a bit of like an aura move. Hmmm, how to explain this... You need to feel power of dragon surging within you. It might not be any different from Ember you learned before, but... Compared to ember, this one is a bit more forceful. Just imagine a stream of power coming out from your mouth."
...Gusios only tilted his head. He doesn't seem to get it. "Alright, uh... how to do this... Ember is like this, right?" Azur took seeds from berries he used for his medicines and put it on his mouth. He then spits it out like a machine gun. Admittedly it sounded more like seed gun than actual ember, but... Gusios nodded. He seem to understand it well enough. Azur then took out a water bottle. "...Dragon pulse is more like this." he took a swig from his water bottle and spit it out in stream of water. "...Do... do you get it?"
Gusios was pondering it for a bit, then seem to get it. He tried to do it. At first, it was Embers. Once... twice... it's still embers... at the third attempt, Azur noted there are some purple mixed in the color. "Yeah! You're getting hang of it! Now you just need to unite that power into one!" another attempt, the purple is getting more prominent... until finally he shoot out a purple colored light! But it's seem incomplete as it's currently just a thin stream.
"Keep at it. I think you will eventually get hang to it!"

As Azur brought order back to the chaos that was his ragtag team of pokemon, and as he listed off the different tasks and training that'd be going on today, Ettie's pokemon would be milling about; relaxing, after the good run that they had. They'd be idly drinking water, they'd be sunning themselves, they'd be chitchatting; though Ruffian, being Ruffian, would have started an impromptu wrestle match with Duchess once they both had their fills of water. The two pups would be nipping and tussling each other eagerly, not far from the water bowls, while Princess and Anne both idly watched. The former of the two would be taking slow and casual sips of water, while the latter would be sunning herself near the Yamper eggs; Anne having just finished rolling about in the dust, in an impromptu dust bath.
Meanwhile, Ettie would blink a bit quizzically at Azur's hastiness; seemingly not used to him being quite like this. When he'd ask about Scathach's whereabouts though, she'd hum to herself; tilting her head a bit in thought. "Sca? Thought I saw her over here with you earlier, but..." Quietly trailing off, she'd glance about the area; not seeing her anywhere near any of Azur's other pokemon, though... It didn't take too much longer for her to spot Scathach, when she'd glance back towards her own pups! There was the Toxel; she was going up to the other puppies, to check up on them...! "Oh, I see her; she's over there...!" She'd mention to Azur, pointing in Scathach's direction. After a second of observing Scathach's actions, though.... She couldn't help a giggle of endearment, smiling warmly. "Eheheh; d'awww, she's just saying hi to the pack, I think...!"
Meanwhile, upon noticing that they had a visitor, Ruffian and Duchess would both stop their little wrestling match; Ruffian having to tilt his head back whilst Duchess was perched atop him, so that they could both peer at Scathach quizzically. What was the little Toxel up to, huh...? Just watching them, it appeared; and Duchess, her tail wagging at seeing that a friend was here, would hop off of Ruffian and approach the Toxel. At first, she'd go to lick Scathach - her tongue blepping out - though... She was quick to stop herself, remembering just how badly the poison on Scathach's skin tasted. Her tongue would still blep out the tiniest bit; but instead of using her tongue to lick Scathach, Duchess would reach up a paw to pat the Toxel on the head. Hi there, friend, she'd greet with a bark!
It would be about then that Azur would notice where Scathach had went though, and would come to pick the wayward little Toxel up. Duchess was a little disappointed that Scathach couldn't hang around, if the whine that she'd make was anything to imply, though... That disappointment would soon be forgotten, when Ruffian would tackle into Duchess' side, to start the wrestling match over anew...!
As Azur transported the curious little Toxel over to Ciela and Lizbeth, Ettie would giggle a bit; seemingly untroubled by the baby pokemon's antics. "It's okay, Azur!" She'd respond with a bright smile, skipping along beside him as they walked. "I could see Sca being curious about a lot of electric types and poison types in general; though Duchess does tend to attract a lot of Electric types, with her Static ability..." She'd muse out loud with a giggle; thinking to the varieties of Electric types they had run into, back on Route 4. Though... "... But in any case, I'm sure Duchess would love to play and keep an eye on Scathach, if you ever want to ask her!" Ettie would mention as she brought her train of thought back on track, smiling brightly. "Duchess is always eager to make everyone happy, and she seems to pick up on what other people or pokemon are up to super easily; so I'm super sure that she'd try her best, to be a good big sister for her!"
The mention of how things were going, though, would make Ettie hum a bit; falling into thought. Everyone had been doing their own thing, and not being cooperative as a result... Well... "... If they do end up getting distracted and doing their own thing instead again, well... Maybe you could find a way to let them do that thing, while also doing some training, both at once?" She'd question in suggestion, smiling a bit as she pointed out "It's easier to stay focused on the stuff that you really like to do, than the stuff that you find boring, after all...!" Surely, there were things that'd be interesting to the different pokemon that would also give them an opportunity to get stronger...! Like the race she had done with her pack; some of them were raring for a good run, and Ruffian seemed to enjoy competition, so it was a great way for everyone to get on board for some exercise..!
And speaking of getting everyone on board... Azur would go over to Zeit, and ask him about spending some time with the other canines. As Zeit barked in confirmation and moved towards the others, Ettie would follow after; though she'd glance back to Azur and wave to him, mentioning "I'll have to show you the move Duchess just learned later then, Azur!" with a bright smile. She was a little disappointed that she didn't get a chance to show it off to him, admittedly; though she also wasn't THAT bothered. She knew that they'd be able to show off all sorts of new moves to each other later, after all..! So instead, she'd just focus on keeping the training, well, train going, in the meantime.
And speaking of training... Zeit would approach Duchess and Princess in particular, to ask them about having a spar...! Duchess, parting from Ruffian, would be more than happy to take him up on the suggestion; barking eagerly both in greeting, as well as in agreement, as her tail wagged! Princess, meanwhile, would be a bit more quiet; though the Snubbull would still approach Zeit, before nodding in agreement. Sure, she supposed that if Duchess was down for it, then she could take Zeit up on the offer for a spar or some training... With that, the two sisters would ready themselves for a friendly fight, muscles bunched, as they waited to see just what Zeit had up his sleeve...!
Ruffian, though, would make a dismayed half-growl half-bark at the wrestling match having ended, and at Duchess having been pulled away by Zeit. They were training here, already; if Zeit was gonna muscle his way in to join in on training, then he could at least have the courtesy of including others in on it...!
The protests, thankfully, wouldn't go on much further though; when Ettie would come over, smiling to Ruffian. "I know you're disappointed, buddy; but it's okay!" She'd mention, crouching down to pet the Lillipup on the head. "How about you and Anne come with me, and we can try learning some new moves together?" Ettie would suggest, in hopes of placating the fussy pup; emphasizing this by waving a couple of Tutor manuals that she had picked up with Azur, when they were getting ready for the training session. This seemed to get the little Lillipup's attention; his ears perking up, as he glanced to her. Some new moves, huh...? While he wasn't sure whether she'd have any interesting moves in mind or not, a chance to spar against Anne certainly sounded like it'd be up his alley...!
In fact, maybe Ettie's attempt to placate him with the promise of learning some new moves was a little too effective; because, suddenly, Ruffian would hop up and snatch one of the manuals, running off with it! "H-Hey..!" Ettie would shout in surprise, nearly dropping the other manual...! With Anne in tow, Ettie would chase after Ruffian to try and reclaim the manual - though the young pup was able to stay just ahead of either of them, his ill-gotten manual in tow, dragging along the ground...! At least, until Anne would suddenly dart at him; the Rockruff snatching the manual back with ease...! Anne, satisfied now the manual was in her possession, would turn around and casually strut off; keen on returning the stolen object back to Ettie, where it belonged.
However, what Anne likely didn't expect, was for Ruffian to dart up from behind her; snatching the manual away once more..! Nuh-uh, he had decided in his head; if these manuals had some big special moves in them, that'd make him stronger, then he was going to be the one to learn them! With Anne right on his tail, Ruffian would be attempting to use the poles in the obstacle course from below to lose her - darting between them with ease, with his smaller size, compared to the Rockruff. Hah; he'd like to see her keep up with him, that way...! As he'd dart out from the 'forest' of poles and back into open space, he'd glance over his shoulder to see if Anne was still able to tail him. However, when he'd catch no glimpse of Anne on his tail quite yet, he'd believe that he had made a slick escape, and that she was still trying to weave between the poles...
... Only for him to proceed to run straight into Anne, as he turned his gaze back up ahead...! Startled and dazed, it would be easy for Anne to snatch the manual back from Ruffian, and run right off with the little book! The little Lillipup would take a second to regain his bearings; though when he realized that the manual had been snatched away from him once more, he's growl in frustration. Getting up onto his feet, he'd turn around towards Anne, and begin chasing after her once more; if this was the game they were gonna play, then he was gonna play it to the max, and make sure that book was his to keep..!
Ettie, meanwhile, was growing a bit bewildered by it all; watching her two pups stealing the manual back and forth. It wasn't quite the situation that she had expected, but... As she watched Ruffian chase Anne across this portion of the training grounds, she'd soon decide that it was okay, even if this wasn't what she had planned for. As long as they were getting plenty of exercise, and were able to entertain themselves, then she'd be content letting them just have a little steal-off, over the manual. Although... "... This is going to go on for awhile, isn't it...?" She'd comment to herself, and to the nearby Yamper eggs, with a sigh; scratching her cheek a little bit.
The eggs, in response, would only twitch and rock slightly.
And a steal-off it was, for sure...! Initially, Anne was able to keep the manual away from Ruffian with ease; her slightly higher speed meaning that she was able to keep herself just out of Ruffian's reach, despite his attempts to leap for the book, as long as she stayed on guard..! This, of course, would be a source of frustration for the little Lillipup, though; who felt as though he was always just a step behind Anne. Dammit, just running up and grabbing the book wasn't working; what was he going to do now? If a direct approach wasn't going to get him the book, then well...
... Maybe an indirect approach would?
A sudden whine from Ruffian would prompt Anne to come to a stop; the Rockruff not expecting the sound from the younger packmate, as she'd glance back to him. There he was; Ruffian was making a rather pitiful sound in his throat, brows looking as though they had no clue whether to tilt back, or to furrow forwards. Initially, Anne was going to scold Ruffian for stealing the book; that it was Ettie's manual, not his. However... Anything that Anne could've said would be cut off before they were uttered; her guard having been dropped for just long enough, that Ruffian could leap forward and steal the book once more! Ruffian would run off, leaving Anne briefly dazed with shock at the pup's cleverness; though... She'd have to give him a good scolding later, it seemed; and in running after Ruffian, the chase would start anew...!
Thus, the cycle would begin again; the two canines stealing the manual back and forth, using whatever methods they could to get the jump on the other. Ettie, meanwhile, had taken to sitting with the two Yamper eggs - which were still rocking every so often - as she watched the pups chase each other around. This certainly was one way for them to entertain themselves, huh...? Who knew what they'd learn, from chasing each other around and stealing from each other like this...
... She also couldn't help but wonder, just how Duchess' and Princess' spar with Zeit must be going, right now... OOC: Teaching Ruffian and Anne both Covet, as they repeatedly steal a manual from each other!

Sca, before being carried away by Azur would croak her own greeting at Duchess. In Pokemon talk, if translated to human talk, Sca is actually a Pokemon of a few words, with tendency to only speak 'one word at a time' rather than an entire sentence. Instead of 'hello, friend', she simply only say 'hello', The Toxel raised her hand idly while at it. Seem her way of saying hello... did she mimic Azur? Either way, she croaked once more inquisitively, asking if they're training, or they're fighting? To her there's almost no difference between playing and fighting, but she definitely would like to observe more! Even after pulled away and put near Ciela (Who's sassily trying to get Lizbeth to talks more clearly and to repeat her instructions) and Lizbeth (who is pretty much like a newbie nurse being scolded miles by the head nurse), her eyes is still affixed toward Duchess...
"...Yeah, I think I have to agree there," Azur commented. "Sca definitely sounded like she would just observe everything. It's not that she's the difficult type either... it's just that we can't really predict how she move exactly. She seem to be content observing sometimes, another time she just takes off Arceus knows where and suddenly she's already on top of other Pokemon, just observing her surrounding from different angles..."
Sca made a low clicking sounds, as if she's trying to understand the situation she's in. In a way, this Toxel is quite a mysterious one, definitely.
"I'll definitely think about it, I mean about letting Sca hang around with Duchess. I just need someone who could watch over her really... and I don't want her to be lonely too. While I give the others my attention. I guess I can just put her on my shoulder or cradle her while going around giving instruction and whatnot... but I think it won't be an effective way to let her do whatever it is that she wanted to do.
According to my book, Toxels does not learn anything until they evolve into Toxtricity. When they do, though they start learning a lot of sound based attacks. Thing is, it's a steep road to that... I could just buy Exp Share, but... The exorbitant price made me froze on spot. A thousand Pokedollars is like... absurdly expensive! Granted, it's a permanent item, but... There's also matter of growing Zeit. I wanted to buy some supplements for him, you know what I mean? I don't want him to be permanently small like that..."
Well, that's a way... "But at the same time I can't quite... how to say... I don't quite necessarily fully trust them to do it in... more orderly manner. If there are alignment chart on them all, I'm pretty sure they're all in the "Chaotic" spectrum... well, except Lizbeth probably who just pretty much a nervous nurse assistant... I told her that it's fine and she could do it by her own pace, but... I dunno what happened to her in the nurse association that she treated being assigned to me as if she just jumped to fire..."
Zeit who overheard immediately looked away, as if he know what exactly is going on. It's... exactly that. Apparently Lizbeth wasn't all that nervous wreck in the nursing training (so said Lizbeth herself). She graduated quickly compared to many which hatched at the same time, and was 'recommended' for field active nurses. Her only weakness was she tend to overheal and fusses about injuries that only need a minor patching up, a believer of 'if something hurts, must immediately patch it'.
...As how she becomes nervous wreck was because upon seeing Azur... well, Azur's face isn't exactly the friendliest, although he does smile while he's treating Pokemons, but... when he speaks to other human, he tends to looks like he just swallowed a bug or something with that scowl of his... This leads poor Lizbeth to believe that she's assigned to a military nurse, and in turn made her the nervous wreck she is right now, especially when Azur just sighed... she thought there was a massive admonishing coming to get her. He can't tell this to Azur who genuinely want to be friends with the Jigglypuff... never.
...Also, Ciela's being similar to her supervisor is not making things any better apparently... Ciela is very... frank. She's sassy, she knows where to pokes you at to make you shape up. Her words isn't exactly the kindest. She's the type that would toss her sandal at misbehaving people to silence them down.
"Sorry that I can't really give you my attention while I'm training them, Ettie. It's nothing personal. I just have a difficulty to multitask, and well... I always got criticized by my teacher. 'Schild, you're great in a sense you're open to lot of healing method. You're not afraid of using methods not normally used by other nurses and is very resourceful, but you're really bad at dividing your attention. In a way, you're too focused on your task and it causes you to forgot a lot of different thing'... so she said." Azur scratched the back of his head.
Oh well, for the meantime let's return to task at hand. Next... he would move toward Ciela and Lizbeth.
As for Zeit, he started by putting on some distance between him and the two younger Pokemons. A blitz of electricity crackled on his mouth. Zeit always wanted to test for himself how great these two Pokemons are. His muscles tensed, ready to attack at anytime. For the meantime though, he will give courtesy to the young to do their first moves. He made sure to give a sign to the two that he's not going to take it easy on them though. They're level 6s... around that, right? One is probably level 7. He's level 11. He might be ahead by quite a lot, but he doesn't plan on slacking.
"How's the information trade going?" Azur asked the two pink colored Pokemons. Ciela simply glanced at the Jigglypuff before answering. Lizbeth... looked as if she is in trouble with how much she's sweating over there... It's ridiculous. Azur wondered if she messed it up somehow, but Ciela said something along the line that she's managing, albeit she need a bit more time to adjust. "Sounds like you'll be managing then. alright, Liz... i want you to do something for me. First, how about we gauge how far could your healing pulse reach? According to your certificate, you got Heal Pulse, don't you?"
She shakily bounced on place. Is that her way of nodding? Azur really hope that she could stop being so scared though. For the meantime... let's see... "Ettie! Give me a bit of a hand here! Can you tell Ruffian and Anne to stay where they are for a bit?" he called out the younger girl. "I'm going to test Lizbeth's Heal Pulse!"
Let's see... "Go for it, Lizbeth."
Urged to start, the Jigglypuff released sizeable pulse of healing, Azur checked the range, calling out to Ettie again. "Ettie! Did Anne and Ruffian felt that?" he asked.
Afterward, he turned back to Ciela. "So the idea is I'll have you learn Heal Bell, Ciela. As of how, Lizbeth will show you, won't you, Liz?"
Having such a pressure on her, Lizbeth's face turned pale as she cold sweated. Oh dear. He guess that was a wrong move. "On the second thought, could you just give her a pointer? For example, how does Heal Bell works..." Well, Azur does have a manual, but he feel by letting Lizbeth showing what she could do, she would grow more confident of her own ability. That, and by giving her an incentive to bond more with Ciela, hopefully they could work together as duo of healing Pokemons in Azur's own party.
However, such was a hopeful thoughts. At first Ciela was happy and trying to encourage the Jigglypuff. Eager to learn... but even with gentle nudging and a lot of reassurance... the Jigglypuff... was still a nervous wreck who keeps flubbing her explanations, not clear enough in her words, and most of all, failed to even execute the move properly. If anything, it sounded like a halfassed singing... almost like when you got called by your elementary school teacher to sing and all you can do is to freeze on spot.
...It's at this time that Ciela just grabs the Jigglypuff and shake her several times as if trying to tell her to cut it out already with the nervous wreck act! She's a professional, thus she must be a professional! "W-w-wait, Ciela! Hold on, hold on! Please be patient! Don't be so angry like that! Liz is trying her best! She seriously is trying her best so please, calm down!"
...Well, even a mother's patience have a limit. Ciela huffed and stopped shaking the now tearful Jigglypuff. "Alright alright, I'm really sorry for that, Liz. Ciela isn't usually like that... but I really think you should take a deep breath, alright? Take a deep brea--Liz, we're not doing any procedure for birthing process! Does Pokemon even do Lamaze for that!?"
It was a disaster (Azur himself decided that he should take a bit of a tea break after giving both Ciela and Liz some tea to calm themselves down). Take two.
After managing to let Liz take a deep breather and back to calming herself down, Azur watched as she finally gave instruction to Ciela. It was... not the smoothest, but Ciela was appreciative of her efforts. The proud Ciela would repeat Liz's pointers by doing exactly what she's told to. Upon noticing that Ciela seem to not be as scary as she initially thought, she looked more confident than before, correcting Ciela's mistakes (such as her mistakes of being a bit too fast with her tempo of trying to make a bell chime sounds, and problem with breathing before making the bell sounds. Deep breathe before attempting to do heal bell apparently wasn't necessary. They just have to make a consistent bell-like sound in a soothing tempo, then infuse their power to it). Ciela eventually get hang on it, and made the proper sound. Once she did... she patted Lizbeth, saying something in line of 'you're a good teacher if you try! You should be far more confident than that! Grow a spine!"
...Well, it was a rocky road, but looks like they managed to start walking together now it seems. "Good job, Liz. I'll think what I'd like to train you on later, but for the meantime, please go to Zeit and make sure Princess, Duchess or him wasn't going to hurt themselves too much in their spar, alright? Ummm, I think I'll go to survey the other meanwhile..."
And then Azur lifted Scathach, who croaked idly. That little disaster was quite funny to the Toxel, who was trying to hold her laughter by croaking. If she don't continue croaking she would probably burst out laughing. Yes, it was a disaster, but even so that was a hell of amusing disaster... Oh well. The Toxel is now going down to check on Ettie, who apparently just done trying to teach the two some moves but they ended up stealing from one another... Too bad Sca can't read, otherwise she would probably croak several more times in amusement.
Azur goes back to where he was with Tristan. Tristan has apparently mastered the art of Icy Wind, blowing out icy wind from his mouth. He only need to get hang on doing it by using it on more than just one target. To do this, Azur give him two targets, in which the deal is for him to freeze both. Tristan who grew to appreciate his trainer, and now seeing that he got an expectation to strife for, immediately nodded at Azur and blew more ice on it.
Now, Gusios, he seem to be able to use Dragon Pulse to certain extent. It's still weak, but blasting a purple laser out from his mouth seem to be going well. Gusios now only need to increase the firepower. "...What's up, buddy? You sounds like you got some trouble on it."
Gusios looked at Azur, then voiced his concern animatedly. He sounded like he have a hard time making it more potent than it is now. "Hmmm... then... how about holding it in? I think you're too hasty, so... try to build it up on your mouth as much as you can then shoot it out, how about it?" Azur suggested, to which Gusios seem to be more than willing to try. Azur noted that Gusios' weakness is that he's unable to hold it too much because he wanted to release as fast as he can. He's the hasty type... and being something akin to a dragon puppy, he also have attention span of a dog... He's easily distracted. He wonder how to fix this? ...Maybe he should ask Ettie?

Duchess didn't seem to mind at all, how quiet and short Scathach was. Her tail would still wag eagerly as she was greeted in return, happy to see a new friend in the first place..! Though, the way Toxel raised her hand in a sort of 'wave' did seem to catch the pup's attention; and after thinking for a second... Duchess would smile brightly, and try to mimic the gesture, by lifting her own paw up high...! This was the right way to do it, right? In any case, Scathach would soon ask Duchess what she was up to - about whether they were training, or fighting. The young Electrike would fall quiet for a second, as if pondering how to word this... Before responding that it's a little bit of both! It's technically more like play, the way they're wrestling like this, Duchess admitted - but Ettie told them all that as long as they're moving around and being active like this, it's still training in a way - and it'll still make them stronger..!
And then, there was the conversation that Ettie and Azur were having on Scathach. The young girl would hum a bit as he explained the issue with the little Toxel - namely her unpredictability, and how she is prone to going off and doing her own thing. But, as he mentioned thinking about letting Duchess hang out with Scathach once more, Ettie nodded eagerly. "The pack'll be more than happy to keep an eye on her! And I'm sure Duchess would make a perfect playmate, for Sca!" She'd chirp, a skip to her step. They were sure to treat Scathach like a part of the pack, which was sure to let Azur not need to worry so hard over the baby pokemon, while he trained everyone else...!
Experience Shares certainly sounded like they were expensive, though... "I guess the fact that they're so useful is what makes them so expensive..." Ettie commented idly, glancing down to a rock at her feet, and kicking it along as she walked with Azur. "But I bet giving Scathach a few rare candies every so often will also help, with getting her to grow big and strong..!" Ettie would soon point out, though; smiling brightly. "Yeah, you can't give them to a pokemon all the time; but even just a few every once in awhile should be enough to make a big difference!" After all; the other pups had a huge increase in growth, when they were given some rare candies...!
Though, Azur was also skeptical about letting them do their own thing, given their propensity for being a little more chaotic; save for poor Liz, who was an utter nervous wreck..! Ettie would hum a little, scratching her cheek in a thoughtful fashion, before questioning "I mean... If you can teach them how to do it safely, without hurting or upsetting anyone, what's the harm in a little chaos?" Technically, it was a bit of a rhetorical question; noted by how Ettie was quick to continue, adding "My pack's been pretty okay, doing their own thing - even if they're just taking a break right now - cause I'm not afraid to put my trust in them to know what they need or want, even if I do have an idea of the things I want to teach them!"
"Maybe you should talk to them some, and trust in them some, too?" Ettie would tilt her head as she suggested this, though... After a moment, she'd giggle a bit, adding "And maybe you should relax a bit, yourself. I remember when you mentioned how kids are usually scared of you, cause of your serious face; maybe if you smile and relax more, Liz will relax, too! Some pokemon are sensitive to the mood in the air, after all..!"
Before long though, both trainers would have to return to training their respective pokemon - Ettie with Anne and Ruffian, Zeit with Duchess and Princess, and Azur with Ciela and Lizbeth.
In Zeit's case, things seemed to be going alright, for the time being. Duchess and Princess were both down to spar - even if the young Electrike was more enthusiastic than her Snubbull sister was - and they were both down to learn from their older brother...! As Zeit put some space between the both of them though, to prepare for the fight... It'd turn out that they would be getting the first move, in this fight...! The realization would make the two perk up a little, the gears in their heads turning, as they glanced to each other... Before sharing a nod; a visible plan in mind, for this fight...!
Of the two, Duchess would be the first to act, darting in close towards Zeit. However, even as the electricity that crackled in her fur increased in intensity, it would quickly turn out that she wasn't going for a Tackle or Thunder Fang. In fact... Duchess would be going for a Thunder Wave, of all attacks; the electricity in her fur releasing in a burst of static, that she was hoping to catch Zeit in...! If Zeit wasn't going to be playing around for this fight, then Duchess had figured that she shouldn't play around, either; she wanted to show the Arcanine what she could really do...!
Hopefully, if Duchess was able to land the Thunder Wave and paralyze Zeit, it'd leave him open to an attack from Princess - who was now darting in close, her fangs beginning to crackle and electrify...! Leaping forward, Princess would attempt to latch onto the Arcanine's fur, so that she could bite down on him with her electrified fangs; attacking him with a surprisingly fierce Thunder Fang...! Though Princess knew other attacking moves - Fire Fang and Ice Fang in particular - neither of them would pack the same punch against a fire-type that Thunder Fang would have!
Meanwhile, there was Ettie, Anne, and Ruffian. The two pups were still chasing each other around the training grounds, continuing to snatch the manual back and forth. Ettie, at this point, had accepted that they'd probably continue doing this until they exhausted each other, or until one of them got bored; and so she figured that she could wait until they were done, before she'd continue training them. However, Azur would then call over to her - asking about whether she could get Ruffian and Anne to stop for a second..! This would make the young girl a bit sheepish; scratching her cheek a bit. Were they going to even listen...? Anne might... "Alright, I'll try to call them!" She'd call back to Azur, before glancing back over to Anne and Ruffian. Alright... Let's give this a try...!
Bringing her fingers up to her mouth, Ettie would proceed to whistle, and call "Aaaanne! Ruffiaaan!" Anne, being the loyal Rockruff that she was, would stop immediately upon hearing the whistle - glancing to Ettie, even whilst having the manual in her mouth. Ruffian, too, would briefly glance in Ettie's direction, but... The young Lillipup was still quite rambunctious; and he was still quite dead set on getting the manual...! Using Anne's pause to his advantage, he would dart forward to steal the manual once more, before running off...! Anne, a little startled and frustrated, would growl at Ruffian as he ran off - but was more focused on seeing what Ettie wanted from her, trotting up to the young trainer, and making an inquisitive bark.
Ettie, seeing that Ruffian hadn't stopped at the call, would sigh a bit; but still smiled, even if sheepishly. One out of two wasn't bad...! Now that she had Anne's attention, she'd gently coax the Rockruff onto her lap - explaining "I need you to hold still for a second, while Lizbeth tests her Heal Pulse, okay Anne?" Anne, always happy to help, would bark in agreement; settling her front half down into Ettie's lap, tail wagging. "Atta girl!" Ettie praised, ruffling the top of Anne's head, before glancing over to Azur - calling back "Okay, she's ready to go...!"
And with that, would come Lizbeth's Heal Pulse. It was a little bit faint, given that Anne and Ettie were both a good bit further away; but they could still feel it, like a warmth that washed over them, soothing any aches that they - Anne in particular, given her and Ruffian's tussling and their repeated uses of Covet - might have. The young Rockruff would rest her head down on her front paws with a gentle sigh - relaxed at the sensation of the Heal Pulse - and Ettie giggled; petting Anne with one hand, and glancing to Azur to call "I think she could feel it; I sorta felt it, too!" Smiling brightly, she'd turn her attentions to Lizbeth in particular, adding "It felt really nice; it was all warm and cozy! Thank you, Liz!"
The Jigglypuff was always such a nervous mess and always trying so hard; Ettie would feel bad, if she didn't try to show her appreciation, for Lizbeth's work...! And Anne seemed to agree with this; barking in thanks to Lizbeth as well!
Meanwhile though, there was Ruffian - who was finally able to get away from Anne, with his ill-gotten loot..! Satisfied, the young Lillipup's tail would be wagging confidently, as he trotted off towards one of the quieter parts of the area; nose upturned slightly both out of smugness, and to keep the manual from dragging on the ground too much. Once he was confident that he was far enough away from everyone else, Ruffian would plop down in place; setting the manual down, and glancing down to it so that he could start pawing through it. Surely, if these things were meant to be used for teaching pokemon moves, then he could just learn the moves from these pages himself..! However... A problem would soon arise; in the form of the fact, that the manual was more or less shredded...!
Ruffian, at first, would half-snarl, half-bark in dismay and frustration; how was he going to learn anything from this manual, now, if he couldn't read any of the pages?! The young Lillipup would stomp about angrily briefly, growling and grumbling to himself, but... Then, he'd notice; that there were a small handful of pages, still intact...! Near-immediately, Ruffian's mood would change at this; becoming hopeful, as he moved back over to the manual to flip through it. Most of the pages in the book were uninteresting to Ruffian; being moves that he either couldn't learn, or moves that just seemed pointless to him. Though...
... One page in particular - Hyper Voice - would catch Ruffian's eye.
His attention piqued, Ruffian would read over the page a few more times - just to make sure that he had everything that he needed to know memorized - before taking a few steps back, to give himself some open space. Hyper Voice was a sound based move, one that - as it might sound - involved using one's voice; raising it to a terrible shout, to deal damage...! While Ruffian technically was less of a shouter and more of a barker, this move sounded as though it was right up his alley. Thus, he'd begin to practice the move in question...!
First, was a thing of being able to take in a deep breath; Ruffian inhaling as deeply as he could, puffing his chest out in the process. Once he could breathe in no more, Ruffian would then tense his body; letting it all build up inside him, more and more... Before he'd release it, letting out a single bark - as loud as he could...! In such a small body, the bark wasn't exactly something that'd spook anyone; but it was still impressive for his size nonetheless, if the fact that Anne had glanced in his direction with a surprised look was anything to imply...!
Grinning toothily, Ruffian figured that he had a good start to this - he just needed to keep trying, again and again, harder and harder...! With this in mind, the young Lillipup would take in a deep breath once more, and he would let that same pressure from before build up once more... Before releasing it all once more, in another loud bark, this one tinged with a growl to it! It wasn't quite on the levels of a Hyper Voice quite yet; but the difference was still there, the bark somewhat louder than before. It was an encouraging sign, and it was a sign to keep going that he was more than happy to take up on, alternating between deep breaths, holding, and letting it out in a bark; again and again, until he was sure that he had the Hyper Voice that he wanted...!
Anne, eventually, would wonder just what Ruffian was up to; barking over and over, like that. He seemed as though he was practicing something, but just what it was, exactly, was hard to say... As a result, the Rockruff's curiosity would be piqued; prompting her to get up from Ettie's lap, and trot over to the Lillipup. As she got close, she'd bark to Ruffian - asking just what he was doing, barking like that - though...
... What she didn't expect, was for Ruffian to turn in her direction, and bark almost supernaturally loud now; a true blue Hyper Voice...! The attack would cause her to stumble backwards a few paces as it washed over her; her ears ringing, even if her being a Rock-type meant that it didn't hurt as much as it could've. Ruffian, meanwhile, was utterly enthused; it worked! He did it! He used Hyper Voice...! He'd puff his chest in pride, and hold his head up high; tail wagging eagerly, at this.
... Though, dwelling on his 15 seconds of fame meant that Ruffian wouldn't see it coming when Anne - in revenge - would tackle into him, prompting a sudden wrestling match!
Ettie, watching the two pups and their antics, would be unable to help breaking into laughter; smiling brightly. She supposed that was one way, to practice a new move, huh? At least Ruffian was able to find some use in the manual, even after it got it all torn up, though; even with Ruffian's tendencies to be fighty and uncooperative, Ettie was just happy that things were going productively. The Yamper eggs, meanwhile, were starting to shake with increasing regularity; prompting Ettie to glance at them with a soft and curious "Hm..?"
Were the eggs about to hatch, already..? OOC: Ruffian's learning Hyper Voice, from the manual!

Last Edit: May 26, 2020 20:26:13 GMT by Ettie Carnall: Editing to fix Duchess' actual level
The Electrike's enthusiasm was something that the Toxel finds endearing. When Duchess raised her hand back in greeting, the Toxel croaked positively, as if saying "yes, that's how you do it, good job". Fighting and playing... Sca had no idea how is that middle ground is like, considering she herself is a bit weak in many ways, but... That's valid. She croaked once more as if asking if she could one day ride her to see how this "Training" of hers worked.
"Hmm, playmate, I'm not too sure about that considering Sca is rather... passive. According to the personality assessment, she's a serious Toxel, which will evolve to a Low Key Toxtricity. They're lower energy wise than the Amped form Toxtricity, hence why she's kind of... slow, and more subdued. I guess they can play fetch in where Sca toss them a ball or something? Or maybe avoiding her Toxic? But I guess that is too dangerous, nevermind, hmm..."
Scathach croaked at the talk about poison, saying that she doesn't want it too. "Oh, you don't want it, eh? That's fair. They're your friend so you don't want to poison them accidentally, yeah? That's a good girl, Sca! Hmmm, then I guess the training they can do is doing something like this, I guess?"
Azur takes out three red ball and one golden ball. "...They must avoid the three red balls and catch the golden one. Once they do, they must return the three other balls to Sca at it, and then the process repeats."
Sca croaked positively at this, seem to be more eager to do it than before. "Ooh, I see, so you want to do it, eh? Well, I'll leave you with the rest soon so you can try it, but for the meantime please stay put alright?"
Indeed, few rare candies would definitely help. "I'll probably pass some to her later. Well yeah, rare candies is... how to say... It's like a supplement actually, that only works on Pokemon. It could make the Pokemon stronger immediately. There were studies already about Rare Candies, and so far there are two factions regarding the usage of it. Some said it's allowed, and even suggested to balance off your team's strength. Another says that it's not pure and therefore should be banned, because the Pokemons wouldn't be as experienced compared to when they grew stronger through training. Clinical wise, there haven't been any widely reported cases, though... if the dosage is followed that is. Personally, I'm in the "use it as needed" camp. The maximum dosage is ten a week. Apparently overusage could lead to the Pokemon grew addicted to it or various other side effects such as aggression."
Hmmm... He got lectured huh. Azur ruffled Ettie's hair again. "I seriously can't win against you huh? Well, yeah, I guess I'll talk to them more... but at the meantime I don't think they're in moment where they could left to their own device... They're currently lacking an "absolute leader". I think Zeit was supposed to fill this spot, but at the moment, Ciela have yet to acknowledge him, and Zeit cannot fight against Ciela. Meanwhile, Tristan respects Zeit, but dislike it when Ciela is in charge. Gusios respects any of the two. Tristan is a bad pick because Ciela think he's worse than Zeit. Zeit thinks that he's growing though. And there's Sca. She only follows Zeit. Ciela is fine with her, but at the same time, she prefer to do things by herself. So someone with fast acting response would be needed. But yeah... that's my assessment for now.
Meanwhile, your pack have the presence of Anne who's the pack alpha to take care of the rest. Zeit is... admittedly wasn't suited not because he's not strong enough. He's strong, but the problem lies in more the fact that he's softspoken... I guess? Does that makes sense? It's more the fact that he's too used playing the support role, and because he was abandoned, he's too afraid of offending anyone, thus why he decided to stay silent. He don't want to be abandoned or hated by anyone... and well... He could smell your emotions apparently. That's the second reason."
...Smile huh. Azur took out a pocket mirror and looked at his own reflection, and attempted to grin. As expected, it doesn't look sincere, and actually looked... "...Holy Arceus almighty and his seventeen plates, it's like I'm looking at a Grimmsnarl or something..." Azur muttered. That bad? Yes, that bad. He guess he'll try to smile more... but if he smile like that just now... He's pretty sure that any kids would run on sight.
Zeit... was not doing all that well it seems. The moment he wasn't playing around, he learned how fearsome could the two dogs be. First, Duchess approached. At first, thinking that she would use a Lightning Fang, Zeit was ready to clash it with one of his own. But unfortunately, he was wrong... dead wrong. The Electrike released not Thunder Fang or Tackle, but actually going for Thunder Wave! Feck! He have to dodge, dodge, dodge!
2bzNrag9p_
Not good enough! Zeit could feel his muscles spasming. He grunted in pain. He don't want to worry the two that it does feel hurt and tingly. With his muscles locked like this, his speed dropped harshly, and what's worse, he's two against one here... and Princess is coming from the other side! Would he be fast enough for Agility?
p_
Yes! Upon noticing that his body is actually still responding to him, Zeit increases his speed through Agility. He managed to dodge Princess' Thunder Fang, making her bit at empty air! Zeit once again formulated his plan. He probably should attempt to do Flame Wheel at Princess next!
p_
He still did not feel that his muscles are entirely locked, thankfully. Once again, while his muscles still tingly from the Thunder Wave, his body lit into flame. He jumped, and rolled midair, aiming to hit Princess with his Flame Wheel!
Hmmm, hmm, seeing that the Heal Pulse worked makes Azur happy. That means... "Alright, this means Ciela and Lizbeth can now assist me in treating the Pokemons! This is great!" yes, he's happy, he's truly happy. If he's alone who treat the Pokemons he would be a little tired from the labors involved, such as making pastes and such... Come to think of it, maybe he can teach Lizbeth and Ciela how to make the items he uses in his healing...
Lizbeth, looking at her handywork and being appreciated finally exhaled, as if she just hold in so many pressures. Now, with that's done... Azur wondered if he should ask Anne to hang out with Sca for a bit. Eh well... Now, what else? He guess he could train while everyone trains too... But... When he was about to wonder what's going on there was a trill-like sound. Tristan approached him rather than him who approached Tristan.
"Oh? What was it? Can I help you?"
Tristan pulled his hand, guiding him toward the target.. Oh? Then he stood in front of the two targets. There were signs of frost damages on both of them. Proudly, Tristan began to blow on it. The chilly air is unmistakable. Even here, when he's standing right behind Tristan, he could feel the chilly coldness of the technique! Could it be that he mastered it already? True to his thought, Azur saw slight ice shards gathering at the leg of the target. He blinked, that was fast. Then it seeps, and seeps, toward the body, and finally, he saw it entirely enveloped the target! Tristan stucks out his chest as if saying that he did well.
...Remembering about what Ettie said before, Azur crouched down to Tristan. "...Hey, you did great. Great job, Tristan." Hearing this was enough to make the Ralts smile, but he wasn't done. "...We started at wrong foot, we really do. I'm sorry. I know you don't like to be treated like you're weaker than the rest. I know you hate to be treated as if you're a burden... But hey, you're none of that. You worked harder than the rest. Sure there were part that I don't like when you showed it upfront... You picked fight with the rest, you picked fight with anyone who think you're not a threat... It might because my words that you're feeling insecure. I'm supposed to be your closest ally, don't I? I'm... supposed to be someone who's the closest to you. Yet, with my response being 'you're small', you thought I rejected you... But that's not the case. I'm really sorry. I had no idea that it might cause you to have such reaction."
Tristan, noticing that he had proven his point, suddenly teared up slightly. "...Yeah, sorry. I'm really sorry, bud. But it's alright now. You have proven to us that you're strong. That's why... from now on you don't have to force yourself to get acknowledged. Those who strive to get acknowledged tend to not realize they'll get acknowledged as long their action is sincere. You can do it, Tristan, you really can do it."
Tristan wiped his tears and nodded. "Let's get you to be the best Gallade out there, alright?" to prove his point, Azur took out a Dawn Stone from his pocket. A trill of excitement from the Pokemon. That should cool him off a bit. Now, Azur headed to Gusios, who was watching the exchange. He wagged his tail at Azur and gently mouthed his hand.
"Hey, hey, what's this, are you praising me? Well... You're doing great job too, Gusios," Azur gently strokes his head. But Gusios only looked up to him without saying much. "Hmmm? What's wrong?" The dragon let out several sounds, but obviously Azur does not quite understand what is it that he's talking about. At least, until he grabbed his own Pokeball... then presented it to him.
"...What, I won't abandon you. What are you thinking?"
Yes, Gusios pushed his hand on the Pokeball, as if requesting him to treasure him and never let him go. Gusios wagged his tail, happy with that, yet...
"What is it? You're acting strange. Is it because I never called you out all that much? Do you want to walk beside me or something?" an affirmative sound. "I see... so you're lonely, eh... Sorry about that, Gusios... come to think of it, when we first met, I never truly stopped to play with you two huh... I was just worried about Zeit, and... afterward I only called you out for the battle. You must be feeling taht I haven't paid you that much attention, huh."
Gusios, who heard that, immediately walked and plopped himself on Azur's lap. "Heh, what's this, you want to be spoiled? Yeah, I guess that's fair. Let's see... what about a little bit of massage? You did well in mastering Dragon Pulse, so, it's only given right? Good boy should be praised... What do you want me to do?" to answer that, Gusios let out several sounds, mimicking the song that Azur once sung. "...Just so you know, I'm bad at singing... What's that? You don't care?" The small dragon flailed, as if saying that regardless whether it's bad or nice, Azur should just sing!
"Heh, well if you request it like that... Just don't tell me that my singing suck after I said all of that!"
Azur hummed the song as he massaged Gusios. The small dragon also hummed back, enjoying the song. his little feet wiggling back and forth together with the tune. Before long, Tristan suddenly plopped himself down too. Scathach, which interested in what the trio is doing, immediately moved from where she was before and plopped to Azur's right, croaking in tune. Before long it becomes quite the human pokemon ensemble.
Their thought however was broken by Ruffian's loud bark! Gusios pouted, as if saying that his fun time has been bothered! Oh well. He will concede it this one time! Back to training. Tristan also looked disappointed and walked off. That only leaves Scathach who climbed up to Azur. The boy immediately approached Ettie, who seemed to show interest on her eggs! Could it be that there are some new development? ...At first, Azur would imagine that one will be yellow, white and brown, the other replaces the brown with pink... but his eyes widened as he saw a hint of blue.
What on earth...?

Ettie would giggle as her hair was ruffled; hands reaching up to clasp onto Azur's, smiling brightly. She'd squeeze his hand in an affectionate gesture with both of her hands, before letting go; rocking on her heels as she thought over Azur's words. "I mean... Can't both Zeit and Ciela be leaders, or something like that?" She'd ask curiously, tilting her head a bit. "There's nothing stopping them both from working together, I'd think! Besides; Anne might sort of be the 'alpha', but me and her both kinda lead it together, too!" Pausing to giggle a bit, Ettie would then point out "And you lead them too, after all; so what's one more leader alongside you and Zeit?"
Ettie was not quite done talking; though she'd pause once more to think over her words. Thinking hard, it'd take a second before Ettie would continue - mentioning "And I think that having a softer and kinder leader doesn't hurt, either; Zeit's really sensitive, so maybe it does mean that he doesn't want to offend anyone... But it also means that if anyone's ever upset, he's there to listen to them, and be a snuggly best friend for them, too!" Ettie grinned brightly upon adding this; declaring "He's the nice papa that looks after everyone, and makes sure they're happy and safe; and Ciela's the firm mama that makes sure no one's getting into trouble! And meanwhile, you're here to help give everyone direction!"
As far as Ettie could tell, she couldn't see a problem with them both leading alongside Azur! They both had their pros and cons, sure, but that just meant that they would need to cover for each others' weaknesses, right? And in Ettie's opinion, she believed that they both had that in the bag..!
As Azur pulled out a pocket mirror though, and attempted to grin... Ettie would be unable to help a brief wince, even before Azur realized just how intimidating his grin was. "Mmm... Azur, down here!" She'd soon speak up; gently tugging on his shirt, so as to coax him down into a crouched position; leaving them both level with each other. "You don't need to do a big toothy grin; just a simple smile is okay, too!" She'd mention; putting on a gentle smile of her own and pointing to her own face - no teeth showing - as though to show Azur what she meant, and to prove her point. "Don't think about it too hard about making it obvious you're happy," She'd begin; gently nudging the corners of Azur's mouth up a little. "Just smile softly, and do a slight squint at the corner of your eyes; like this!"
Putting on another smile of her own, Ettie would tilt her head to the side in a somewhat endearing fashion, and clasp her hands behind her back. "Showing genuine happiness is better than faking it, of course; but a nice smile and some praise every once in awhile might make Lizbeth less intimidated!" However, that did raise the question, of how Ettie knew about the ins and outs of putting on a smile like that... Was it her upbringing? Regardless, there likely wouldn't be much of a chance to ask; because Ettie would begin to grin widely, as she'd reach out with both hands and - assuming that he was within reach - attempt to ruffle Azur's hair once again! "Heheheheh, gotcha!"
Meanwhile, there was Zeit's spar with the two sisters. As Duchess' Thunder Wave landed without any trouble, the Electrike would bare her fangs in visible excitement; circling around Zeit, so as to put both her and Princess on opposite sides of the larger Arcanine. Sparring was fun; and she was eager to show Zeit that she could still pack a punch, even if she wasn't quite as strong as he was..! (She did hope that Azur had the means to actually fix Zeit back up after this, though; even if she was taking this seriously, she didn't want to hurt her big brother that badly..!)
Princess, meanwhile, wasn't quite able to land her Thunder Fang; her missed lunge sending her tumbling on the ground briefly, caught off-balance. That alone was enough to have the Snubbull grumbling unhappily, her fangs continuing to crackle with electricity as she slowly got up and dusted herself off. However, that wasn't the only thing that she'd have on her plate; judging by the fact that Zeit would, suddenly, come at her with a Flame Wheel...! The blazing rolling canine was much too fast for Princess to dodge; slamming straight into the Snubbull, and sending her tumbling back across the ground! Duchess would bark to Princess, asking if she was alright; though Princess would respond with a nod, and a growl that she was - indeed - alright. The attack hurt - given that Zeit was higher level and an evolved pokemon - but she was still standing.
Even with the reassurance though, it seemed the two pups were ready to bite back; quite literally...! Princess and Duchess both would be on opposite sides of Zeit, and both would charge at the Arcanine at the same time in a pincher attack; working together, to try and make sure that at least one of them lands an attack...! Princess, using Thunder Fang, would attempt to leap at Zeit once more, to grab onto his fur and bite down on him; whereas Duchess, also using Thunder Fang, would attempt to bite down on one of Zeit's hind legs to try and keep him from dodging...! (However, whether Duchess would actually be large and heavy enough to weigh Zeit down would stand to question.)
Meanwhile, Ruffian - seemingly satisfied at having learned a couple of moves today - would waltz on up to watch the fight; the tattered and torn-up manual being dragged alongside him. He'd plop down not too far from the trio's sparring, watching closely; almost as though he was trying to see what he could glean from observation alone. He had the temptation to join in, honestly; but he had a feeling that he'd get scolded if he interrupted the fight, and he was admittedly a little tuckered out and sufficiently satisfied from the chase, and from having learned a couple moves. So, for now, he'd behave; resting his head on his front paws as he watched the three canines spar with each other.
And then, there were the two Yamper eggs. Ettie would pull the makeshift nest just a little closer, so that she and Anne could both look over the eggs as they shook; the shells beginning to show their first cracks, as they began to hatch...! Anne's tail would be wagging with excitement, and Ettie's eyes were lit up - the both of them being curious to see just what the Yampers in these two eggs were like. It seemed as though they weren't the only curious ones, though; Ettie would glance up to see that Azur and Scathach had come over, and she'd smile brightly and wave to them! "Look!" She'd chirp - gesturing to the Yamper eggs. "The Yampers are hatching already..!"
Straight off, the duo could see that these pokemon were likely more chill than say, Ruffian or Duchess; given that it seemed as though both of the Yampers were taking their time in breaking out of their respective eggs! However, whereas one seemed to be cracking in a singular, specific spot - as though the Yamper inside was being careful and methodical about breaking out - the other egg wasn't quite as precise or careful, a spiderwebbing of cracks all over the top of the egg. Before too much longer though, both eggs would crack in unison; as a pair of Yamper heads, simultaneously, poked out of the top of the eggs!
Much as Azur had observed, the first Yamper - the careful one - would look more or less like any normal Yamper, appearing to be a male. He'd quietly gaze about with a calm yet inquisitive gaze - surveying his surroundings, as well as the people and pokemon gathered about him. However, he didn't seem cautious, or standoffish, or even offput, by all the excitement in the air; he just seemed curious, yet calm all the same, was all. Briefly shaking his head to dislodge a couple of egg shards clinging to his fur, he'd proceed to methodically break out of the egg the rest of the way; widening the hole that his head had made, so that he could pull himself out of the egg the rest of the way with minimal mess.
Then, there was his brother - the second Yamper. This one was more or less average sized - perhaps slightly bigger than his brother - and looked to be male as well, however... His pelt - as opposed to being the normal hues of yellow, brown, white, and green - instead came in varying shades of blue and cyan, much like what Azur had spotted! This Yamper's unusual colors would prompt a curious headtilt from Anne and Ettie both - though they'd instead simply watch as the Yamper looked around with a calm enthusiasm, visibly happy to see everyone around him! The young Yamper didn't appear in any hurry to leave the egg like his brother did - instead simply remaining where he was, head poking out, and giving the pokemon and people around him a cheery little yap in greeting! ...
... At least, that was until the egg would proceed to tip over quite suddenly, as the little blue Yamper lost his balance with a yelp...! Upside down on his back - whilst still in the egg - the Yamper would whine somewhat pathetically, squirming in place but seemingly unable to right himself or climb out like his brother did. He was stuck! Ettie and Anne were about to move to help him back upright - but it seemed that the normal colored Yamper was on it, immediately moving to his brother's side, and helping break away the eggshell with his paws and teeth; allowing his blue-colored brother to right himself, and practically tumble right out of the egg...! The blue Yamper's tail would wiggle happily as he rose back up onto his paws - yapping in greeting once more to everyone gathered, now that he was out of the egg!
Ettie didn't seem to really acknowledge the fact that the blue Yamper was, well, blue; simply being happy that she had two new puppies, to add to the pack. "Eheheh; Yip yip!" She'd yap right back to the two Yampers; scooping them up in her arms, so that she could hug them both. Anne, meanwhile, would be sniffing and grooming them both; plucking off any stray pieces of eggshell, her tail wagging still. Both Yampers seemed to accept the attention easily; the blue one in particular being especially happy about receiving affection, if his little yips, wagging tail, and the way he was licking Ettie's face all implied anything.
But, one thing that Ettie did acknowledge, was that they both needed names! "Hmm..." She'd hum in thought, pondering it over, but... "... I think you both should get star names, with how bright you both are! I just dunno what kind of star names..." She'd murmur in thought, flopping backwards across the grass. The two yampers would be snuggled atop her, the careful one seeming to ponder over what their names could be. When neither puppy seemed to be able to come to any conclusions though, Ettie would glance to Azur; asking "Azur! What names do you think they should have?"
Meanwhile, it seemed that Ruffian had come over to investigate the hubbub; noticing that the two eggs had hatched! Though Anne was initially a little wary about how Ruffian approached them - the Rockruff initially being a little afraid that Ruffian might throw his weight around and bully his younger packmates... Much to her surprise, Ruffian was actually quite lax about them; simply observing from afar, with a calm and cool look to his gaze. Even when the two Yampers would come up to slowly and carefully investigate him, he'd remain lax; only growling and gently batting one of them with his paw, as if to say 'knock it off', when the playful blue Yamper lightly nipped and tugged at his ear in play!
When the Yamper would make a soft and pleading whine, though... Ruffian would quietly mull over the request that was being made - which was to play with them - before relenting; making a show of rolling his eyes as he play bowed at the two Yampers. Before long though - despite Ruffian making a show of being begrudging - the three would be play wrestling with one another; cheery yips abound!
Ettie meanwhile, would get up and dust herself off. "I suppose that we need to figure out what sort of moves to teach you next, huh Anne?" She'd remark - to which the Rockruff would eagerly bark in response, Anne always being happy to learn..! The only question now, was just what sort of moves the little Rockruff oughta learn next... Hmm... WC: 2160 TWC: 9357
Both of them, eh? "Well, how to say, but like I said, there is a difference between the team mom and the team leader... Ciela is the team mom, there's no doubt about it. She's firm, she knows everyone, but at the same time, there's a quality of not a leader in her... and that is, her rigidness. She have this view of what someone is good at, and her stubborn view on this makes her imposes too strongly of what she felt the best for the team... without first and foremost consulting them on that. I think the need of her to communicate more should be part of her training. Like... telling her to tone down her bossy attitude even if she's the mom of the team and make her more nurturing you know?
And as much as I want to push the notion of two alphas, at the moment both Zeit and Ciela does not have an intersecting vision. If someone's vision and mission does not align, they tend to clash. In this case, Zeit would follow Ciela generally because that's how he works! But well... If he does, Tristan probably will not follow, thus... the situation is like that. I'm thinking to make two teams later though. As you're aware, my teacher sent me a Galarian Ponyta. With this, my healing team is nearly ready. I just have to think what to add for the rest. Ciela and Lizbeth will definitely become part of that team. Maybe a Cutiefly next? Or Eldegoss? Hmmmhmmm... But indeed, before that I need Ciela to work on her communication skill first. And as you say, in the end I guess I'm the one who's leading everyone."
There's a third one actually, Kuuhaku the Ditto, who he... somehow accidentally get by... ending up on his Pokeball slots? Well, Kuuhaku could be a good mount now that he think of it, but at the same time... it feels a bit odd?
Hmmm? Ettie is trying to get him crouch it seems. What's up anyway? He regardless did what she asked of him and suddenly... she tried to make him smile physically? Somehow, there's part of him that is amused at this attempt, and well, it's endearing! He really don't mind this the slightest. He let Ettie do whatever with his face for the meantime... But seriously he can't believe he's getting a smile lesson from a kid nearly five years his junior. He can't help but to wryly smile inside. The ridiculousness of the situation does made him smile a bit wider though. "Geez, I was wondering what your'e going to do but you're going to teach me how to smile? I'm not sure what I feel about that... but I do say you have a cute smile... although you're dang cheeky."
And look, she did it! Azur sighed as Ettie attempted to ruffle his hair. He grabbed her hand just as it touched the tip of his hair. "I know you well enough, young lady. And as I said, ruffling hair is a privillege of someone older!" and so he ruffled her hair as counter. Now, whether Ettie would use her other hand to ruffle his hair or not though he have no idea, but hey, that way they could do double ruffling. In the end he looked as if he got a massive bed hair... Not that he mind!
Faking happiness though... He wonder if he's faking it. Just how much does Ettie know about him now that he think of it? They have been together for weeks, and soon it will be close to a month. In this place, somehow when he thought he doesn't have any family, he gained one that he could treat like one. He wondered if Ettie also feels the same... or is he just being a nagging stranger that inserted himself in that role of a big brother and guardian for her? Whatever, he guess. Maybe he should try to keep whatever she said close to heart, about faking happiness, and smile more sincerely...
...Then again, come to think of it, does he smile a lot? And is he even used to smile even as a lip service? Now that he think about it, ever since Gawain died, he never smiled all that much...
"Hmmm, I guess I'm going to check how Zeit is doing for the meantime. He's still sparring I think?"
Indeed, Zeit is still sparring. He glanced at the two younger Pokemons, trying to predict their next action. His attack hits Princess, and Duchess immediately asked if she's alright. The Snubbull is probably much more tougher than he thought... Then again she was the one that pulled Duchess nonchalantly out from the dogpile after all!
Either way... as expected, now that the paralysis has landed, they're going to go in for pincer attack, huh. That's not a bad strategy at all, and definitely one that would work the best with a Pokemon as big as he is... Just in case, he will check whether he could do any sort of action!
hlgt2nyYp_
His muscles still aren't locked that much. Zeit increases his speed for the second time, using another agility! This would bring his speed to two more stages higher than before. While still being cautious, the Arcanine looked at the two Pokemons like challenging them to come at him. However, the moment they about to strike him, the Arcanine immediately readied to dodge once more!
p_
But... instead of just simply dodging, suddenly...
byuu
It was different sound from before, as if something was displaced, or perhaps beamed up. The sound made Azur glance at Zeit. The Arcanine... vanished? and immediately appeared on another spot about fifteen meters away! Sure that Arcanine are amazingly fast, and without doubt, he's sure that Zeit is also very fast, but.. that was too fast. What on earth did he learned?
"...Could it be?" ...He remembered that Zeit does play that Tutor Machine once... does that mean it taught him the move... Teleport?
"...Arcanines can use teleport?" Azur questioned, rather flabbergasted with this revelation.
Zeit too was confused why on earth that he's there rather than somewhere he thought were his target... Looks like the teleport is yet completely mastered. But even so, the fact that he can teleport... The Arcanine seem to be eager to test his newfound technique! He immediately teleported for the second time, this time to spot beside Ettie and give her a rather slobbery lick! Another teleport, to beside Anne, and licks her too! Then another... whoops, he's back to where Princess and Duchess are... just enough for the paralysis to take effect. Crap. Next attack going to hit, definitely.
As for Azur, he watched as the two eggs started hatching. The first one... was a normal one, it seemed. It doesn't have the perkiness of the Yamper of his family, but instead looking calm and levelheaded. This one is interestingly also very methodical in how he cracked his own egg... quite the interesting fellow. He thought that he would be more like Duchess, but looks like not all pups are born to be THAT playful... even if this one is a Yamper that is. Azur checked on him to make sure that he's not sick or anything.
"It's a male," he explained. "And looks like not any different than other Yamper I met in Galar. He's just very... how to say, he's a calm one, this little one? This one though..." the other one is indeed a different colored than the one he's used to. The blue was so striking that he have no idea what he's staring at... But, this one, this one is more like most Yamper he met. Azur, being quite the dog lover he is, immediately booped the Yamper's nose.
"Aren't you a cute? Welcome to the world, little one," Azur greeted. "Still, you're one chipper of a Yamper aren't you?" ...somehow it's at this moment that Azur sort of understood why Ettie love to bark at the Pokemons even though for them it sounded gibberish. The excitement behind them definitely conveyed and it feels like they have connected... to a certain degree that is.
Whoops, but looks like the blue Yamper is a bit too leaning forward! The egg that is not meant to be able to support him like some Daruma doll! Immediately his brother came to the rescue... Hmmm? That reminds him....
"...Ettie, where did you find these two anyway? I forgot to ask somehow..." Now that the blue one is out, Azur decided to check on him too! Let's see, there are no injuries, the shell did not pierce his skin or anything... all good. He's also a male. "Heh, eager to greet everyone aren't you? You're cute."
Hmmm... names... "...There's a constellation in the sky, I forgot what it was named, but there are a dog constellation. Their brightest stars would be Sirius and Adhara. They're the first and second brightest start apparently. And well... these two does fit the bill don't they? The blue one could be named Sirius, and the yellow one Adhara. Or so I think, heh heh.
Though, Azur can't help but to muse something...
"You know, you got so many Blue Pokemons, don't you? Are you collecting blue dogs for your pack?" Azur commented in amusement. "If you change Pierre's haircut, I think he could be white and blue too... and if you go to saloon, I guess you can change your hair from black to blue too, heh heh."
...Would they match? Would they look like brother and sister that way? Eh well. They said bond is stronger than any blood ties, so regardless of whether they looked physically similar or not, Ettie has pretty much endeared herself into something like a little sister figure to him. But while he was distracted, suddenly Scathach would climb down and crawled over to the blue yamper! She would then climb on him and croaked, as if saying that she just found something really amusing.
...Could it be that she's trying to ride the Yamper like a steed? Or is it perhaps some sort of bonding between two babies?

"Well, if you're gonna smile like a Grimmsnarl like you said, then someone has to teach you!" Ettie teased with a cheeky giggle; grinning widely. Though she always seemed to have been quite comfortable with Azur from the start, it seemed that that comfort was only increasing; Ettie being unafraid to tease and joke around with Azur like this. She'd give his cheeks an idle squeeze together - making his lips purse like a fish - before reaching up with her hand, to ruffle Azur's hair...! However...
... It'd seem that he'd catch her redhanded, snatching her hand before she could ruffle his head proper! As Azur chided Ettie and ruffled her hair, the young girl would simply laugh in response; immediately reaching out with her free hand, to ruffle his hair! "That hasn't stopped me, yet!" She'd chirp quite cheekily, with quite the mischievous grin to match; adding "If you ruffle my hair, then I'll ruffle your hair back sooner or later!"
Nothing was gonna stop her from that quest, no sirree!
Meanwhile, there was Zeit and the spar. Duchess and Princess were both confident that they'd be able to catch to Zeit now, no matter how fast he got, thanks to the paralysis that Duchess inflicted before; and with a pincer maneuver like their own, it'd surely hurt to get struck by two Thunder Fangs at once...! However... As they both were about to leap and strike at him, Zeit would - all of the sudden - disappear...!
Both sisters would crash into each other, yelping as they collided and hit the ground in a bewildered heap. Where did Zeit go? As both pups untangled themselves from each other, they'd glance around - becoming especially confused when they realized that there wasn't even a scent trail for them to follow! It would only be when Princess spotted Zeit, a way's away, that she'd bark in notification - running off to try and chase after the Arcanine! Duchess, her gaze snapping in the direction that Princess ran off to, would follow after - the both of them eager to try and hit him with a combo Thunder Fang, again...!
... Only for him to, again, disappear; this time reappearing in front of Ettie, to give her a biiiiig lick on the face! Ettie would yelp in surprise, before laughing; reaching out to ruffle Zeit's fur for the brief moment before he disappeared once more. "I guess so!" She'd respond to Azur all the while; casting him a cheery smile. Even if she was pretty surprised by this revelation as well, it seemed that Ettie was taking it all in stride; compared to Azur's rather flabbergasted reaction. "Seems he's making full use of his new ability, too!" Ettie added; watching Zeit as he teleported around the grounds.
Which, the next teleport would lead to Zeit appearing before Anne, and licking her, too! The Rockruff would bark a bit in surprise, backing up a pace and wiping her face with her paw; blinking quite owlishly. What in the world was that..?? Before she could even react to Zeit's lick though, or even reciprocate, he'd then disappear once more...!
Meanwhile, there was Duchess and Princess - the both of them who were still trying to chase after Zeit. Duchess, for the most part, was just taking the wild goose chase (Or would it be wild Arcanine chase?) in stride, playfully barking and tail wagging as she happily ran along! Princess, however, was less amused; growling in frustration, as the second attempt to attack missed! She thought they were supposed to be fighting and sparring; not chasing Zeit every which way...! In fact, that frustration seemed to be affecting even how she attacked; by the third time that she tried to lunge and bite at Zeit to no avail, there wasn't even any electricity crackling along her fangs anymore. Instead, there would be an almost audible gnash in the way that her fangs came together; paired with another frustrated growl from Princess. It seemed that she wasn't using Thunder Fang, but a new move completely!
What this move exactly was was hard to say; but as her anger built, she could feel the strength in her already-strong jaws growing with it - to the point that as she lunged for the fourth time, after Zeit teleported to Anne... Though she'd (once again) miss Zeit as he teleported away, her fangs would still bite down on a large rock as she crashed into it. One would think this would hurt; but the rock would, instead, split completely in half from the sheer frustration the fueled her bite!
Princess, completely untroubled, would simply straighten up and crush a couple of the remaining shards of stone in her jaws with a growl; spitting out the dust and shards afterwards, and returning to chasing Zeit down once more...! One way or another, she was going to land a hit on Zeit proper, and finish this spar so that she could get some rest.
As the rock crumbled under Princess' frustration though, Zeit would soon run into a problem: his paralysis has set in, and he couldn't move! Duchess, of course, would capitalize on this; darting in with a Thunder Fang, and lunging once more for Zeit! Like before, she would attempt to bite down onto Zeit's leg to weigh him down, (regardless of whether that'd actually impede him, with his newfound teleportation ability) and to hopefully leave him open to an attack from Princess!
And an attack it was; much like before, the building frustration seemed to fill Princess and fuel the strength of her bites! As a result of this, the move that Princess would be coming in with was indeed not a Thunder Fang; but, instead, it was a Super Fang...! Lunging forward, Princess would bite at Zeit with the anger-fueled attack; chomping down on him with all of her might...! It was safe to say; this move was going to hurt, if Zeit was unable to move out of the way in time...!
Ettie and Anne, meanwhile, would both be wiping the slobber off of their faces; watching as the two sisters chased after Zeit, before ultimately catching up to him as the teleport-fest ended. "... I'm not sure what move Princess is using there... But why do I have a feeling it's going to hurt?" Ettie would ask; scratching her chin a little bit with a reflexive wince. Anne, too, seemed a bit concerned; hoping that the pups weren't going to go too hard on poor Zeit.
Then, though, there would be the Yampers. As Azur examined the calm and collected one, the Yamper in question would be quite passive; simply watching to see what Azur was doing, as he remained still and cooperative. He, indeed, was very calm; and perfectly healthy, from the looks of things. He just looked to be the type to take things at his own pace, and to approach new experiences carefully and methodically. He still appeared friendly, however; once the calm Yamper was able to gauge Azur for a minute, he'd decide to greet Azur with a gentle lick on the hand - tail slowly and idly wagging.
The lackadaisical brother would be far more cheery over the attention, though; responding to Azur's cooing and nose boop with a happy little yip! He'd try to lean forward, to chase after the finger that Azur booped him with - though... When he realized that he was tipping forwards in his egg, he would try to compensate by leaning backwards; only to overcompensate, and end up falling over straight over onto his back..!
As the brother came to the rescue though, Azur would ask Ettie about where she got the eggs; prompting the young girl to perk up, glancing in Azur's direction. "Oh! Uhm..." She'd briefly pause - appearing to be thinking back to when she got the eggs. "I bought them from a breeder; shortly after we arrived here in Plum City!" Ettie would soon respond with a chirp, smiling brightly at the two Yampers. Sure, the eggs might've cost a pretty penny, but... "I was kinda sad that we couldn't find any Yampers on Route 4; so when I saw a breeder selling some eggs, I got them then and there, eheh..."
She would've ended up buying more eggs; but Anne, thankfully, was there to stop her from spending all the money that she had on eggs. Not to mention, that having even more puppies to take care of would probably become a handful realy quick!
Then, there was the suggestion of names. Azur would suggest two stars from a dog-based constellation; Sirius and Adhara, both names seeming to catch Ettie's attention. Smiling brightly, she would nod eagerly; mentioning "I like them! They're really cute names!" with a happy giggle. "What do you two think?" The two Yampers - now Sirius and Adhara - would bark their agreements; seeming to like their new names as well.
As Sirius and Adhara went to play with Ruffian though, Azur would once more ask Ettie something - this time about all the blue pokemon in her pack - and commented about being able to make Pierre blue, on top of Ettie even dying her hair blue! The thought would make Ettie giggle a bit, but she'd shake her head. "I like my black hair!" She'd chirp; patting on her own head, as if to emphasize this. "I feel like it'd be hard - or expensive - to dye my hair from black to blue, anyways...."
Before long though, she would continue; mentioning "But yeaaaah, I do got a lot of blue pokemon, don't I...?" with an amused hue; glancing over at the other pups. Anne, Duchess, Aurien, and Sirius were all blue; and if one stretched the definition a little, even Princess could count as being blue, with her markings! "... I wonder if there are other blue canines, out there, that I could get..." Ettie would proceed to wonder out loud, thinking to herself. If she was going to have a predominately blue pack, might as well (jokingly) commit to it!
In any case though, as Adhara and Sirius played with Ruffian, it seemed that they'd have a guest; namely Scathach, who crawled on over to them...! The play would briefly pause at this - the trio of puppies peering at the little baby lizard as she approached. Sirius, as friendly as ever, would bark in greeting to her; though was surprised, when she would suddenly try to climb up and onto his back! It was awkward - with Scathach being more or less the same size as Sirius - but the blue Yamper seemed to take it in stride, simply laying down on his belly (or splooting, for the cultured-) and wagging his tail. Hello friend, he'd yip! What are you up to, up there?
Adhara, meanwhile, wasn't entirely sure if it was okay for the Toxel to be sitting on Sirius' back like that - worried that Sirius might get hurt from the added weight - but... For now, he was simply content to just sit nearby, watching to make sure that Sirius was okay with this all the while.
Meanwhile, there was Anne and Ettie; who would walk a short distance away to do some training, to sit with each other. Ettie would pull out the remaining manual that she had - the one that wasn't dragged into Ruffian's and Anne's covet-fest - and begin to flip through it. "Let's see...."
There were a variety of moves that Anne could learn, really; plenty of moves that could be useful, all for different reasons! Though, one that did catch Ettie's attention, was the move Iron Head. "Hm... How does this move sound, Anne?" Ettie would question; showing the page that the move in question was on to the Rockruff. Anne, briefly reading it over, would look visibly interested; and soon, would nod in confirmation with a little bark...! She was down to learn this! Ettie, in turn, would grin eagerly; nodding. "Alright! Let's go for it, then...!"
Ettie would take the time to set up one of the makeshift training dummies that the grounds had; looking as though it was a cylinder of concrete, with worn-out padding all around the outside of it. It was somewhat crudely made, but it seemed as though it'd do the trick; Anne already looking eager, to headbutt this thing to smithereens! However, first, she'd have to actually learn to use Iron Head proper.
From what Anne could glean by reading it, it was essentially making your head as hard as steel - and then slamming into your target with a harsh headbutt! So, to start, Anne would take up a stance before the training dummy; head lowered, and eyebrows furrowed, as she began to try and focus. She'd try to picture it in her mind; the fur on her body becoming hard as steel, so that she could hit all the harder once she charged forward, and slammed into the dummy! Hard, solid, harder than even rock; she'd focus on this almost like a mantra in her head, her muscles bunching and tensing in preparation...
... before she'd release all that building energy, in a headbutt into the training dummy! Though it'd shift the tiniest bit, the training dummy would not tip over, and it didn't seem that Anne had used Iron Head; at least, not quite yet. Determined though, Anne would back up a short distance to once more try and focus, and prepare herself. Tough like steel, harder than rock... Sooner or later, she'd be able to get this move down; and when she did, she'd put it to its fullest use, for everyone here!
Ettie, meanwhile, would be watching as Anne tried to practice this move; providing praise, and little suggestions here and there. She didn't dare speak now, though; not wanting to break Anne's concentration. It seemed that the Rockruff had an idea of what she had to do to learn this new move, thanks to the manual, anyhow!
Thus, Anne would continue to practice; focusing hard on steeling herself, before charging into a headbutt at the dummy once she thought she had it! It took a few times, for any visible changes or progress to be made; though before long, Ettie could spot the shimmer that washed over Anne's fur - particularly the head - with each charge forward! In addition to this, the training dummy was beginning to shift and wobble with each strike; a testament to how hard Anne was now striking it!
It would be with one last strike, the fur along Anne's head taking on a bright silvery sheen, that the training dummy would - suddenly - topple over from the force, the young Rockruff making a valiant snarl as she charged forwards! Ettie's eyes would light up at this; and she's clap her hands together, eager to praise Anne. "Great job, Anne; you did it! Look at you go!" In response to all the praise, Anne's tail would wag, as she eagerly barked; running over to Ettie's side to receive plenty of petting. That was another new move, under Anne's belt! OOC: Teaching Super Fang to Princess, and Iron Head to Anne!
"...Well yeah but you playing with my face like this made me have complicated feelings," Azur commented. Yet he doesn't seem to mind. The moment Ettie tried to squeeze his cheeks together, Azur instead puffed his cheeks so he ended up blowing air at Ettie's face. Never let his guard down, not against this cheeky little girl. When Azur stopped her hand from ruffling his hair, Ettie acted fast and instead ruffled his hair too. Two of them ended up with rather fantastic looking bed hairs!
"Pft... ahahaha! What on earth, have you looked on the mirror? You looked fabulous!" Azur teased. He handed the compact mirror to Ettie, still laughing as he stood up. Well, it's not like it's hard to get their hair back to its neat and tidy shape. Azur patted the younger girl's head afterward, smiling better. "Thanks Ettie."
But their fun was joined in by Zeit who keeps teleporting! Is this some sort of new movie plot? Just dog who keeps teleporting out of random? Azur was at first flabbergasted, but at the same time he's amused as the Arcanine keep teleporting around, seem to trying to get hang of his own ability. Admittedly, Azur would also do that if he have new power. Testing what he can do, getting hang of that ability. It's fun. Part of him was jealous of this development, but hey, Pokemon and human are essentially different... So he guess he should instead find things that he can do.
Zeit himself looked so happy with the reaction given by the people that he "pranked". Ettie does not seem to mind, but later he thought that he should play bow at her, just to teleport near her again and lick her cheek! Yeah, it would be really fun! Anne did not even have the time to register what's going on and spluttered, which made Zeit laugh. The two other canines, Princess and Duchess... well, it was a pity for them, he's having fun! Perhaps it's the puppy in him, but his focus tends to get broken when he's having fun! And now he's having fun! Too bad it seems that princess does not feel the same however. It seems that she just want her nap and want to get this over with. It ended up with her... munching on a rock?
No, that's not it. That's... that's a Super Fang, isn't it. Azur winced at the sight of her crushing the rock between her jaws. Snubbulls are known for their bite strength, especially once they evolve to Granbull. Those two fang protrusions... yeah, it was scary enough. Either way, Zeit is in big danger. That attack would probably deal enough damage to shave huge amount of Zeit's health. Such a powerful attack that was...
But at any rate, the first attack that hit was Duchess'! She being the faster of the two perhaps was a blessing. Gritting his teeth from pain, Zeit would once again tensed his body in anticipation to use teleport for the next attack.
06Q9Lxw7p_
Looks like he managed to Teleport! But thanks to Duchess' intervention, Princess managed to bite a bit on Zeit, dealing quite the damage, albeit not at full power! Zeit landed not too far away, but the sting from the attack caused him to mis-time his landing, and instead was about ten meters high from his desired position! The sting on his leg would made him messed up his landing, and forced to roll to dampen the damage of the fall... with Duchess on his feet that is if she did not let go. The spot that Princess managed to bit now a bit bleeding, but it was light. Zeit stood back up, albeit is a bit shaky due to his wound.
At first, he looked hurt, but even so, he grinned at Princess, as if saying that she did well. Now that Zeit is back in his fight mode, looks like it'll be a serious fight for real now.
"...I wonder if I should tell them to stop..." Azur muttered. But for the meantime he's more concentrated on the pups. The calm one, Adhara, might be calm, but at the same time he's friendly. It warms Azur to see that this puppy gently licks his hand. Azur gave him a bit of a headpat and cheek rub before returning him to Ettie
As for the other, this one was funny. He barked at him happily and although he's not as hyper as Duchess, this hyperness endears him to Azur who decided to boop him once more once he's out of his egg shell! It's really cute! Azur gently rubbed his stomach as a little act of affection. Hope that he likes it! Honestly, it reminds him a bit of the Yamper back home, this action. He wanted to poke their back a bit on the rear... It must be soft. Will it float slightly? Putting them on water though is a bit dangerous, so it's rare to see their butt floats on the water... Oops, he's distracted. Corgi butts are quite the topic after all!
"Oh, so that's why... Hmmm, come to think of it, Yampers does often found there huh..." Azur mused. "But I guess it's unfortunate that you cannot find them... It's interesting that I got quite a lot of Pokemons there too! Although... a lot of it wasn't intentional," Azur chuckled remembering poor Cheeks that got chased by Zeit. Why is it that Leona doesn't seem to be chased by the Arcanine, yet for some reasons, the poor Cheeks somehow triggered his desire to chase? Is there something about a squirrel that made a dog want to capture it? But what with cats?
Ettie's response thankfully break him out of his silly internal thought. "Well, that's fine if you like your black hair. I think it's a good color too~" Azur admitted. "I don't think there are other blue colored dogs out there, but... this is Arciel. There bound to be some dogs with some odd coloration, the same way as Sirius, I think," Azur admitted. "Really, I never seen any sort of Yamper with that sort of coloration before. Shiny Yampers are sort of.... pink?"
When it comes to shiny, there are theories that it might be recessive gene, a very rare one. Although there has yet to be a proven studies that says whether this recessive gene could cause genetic defects, there are already some people who are slightly leery about the practice of breeding for the eggs to be Shiny. As for Azur himself? He's not quite worried about it. He's more about proper love and care given to Pokemons. As long as they're given proper care and love, to him this is more than enough.
As for Scathach, upon asked question of what she's doing would simply croak, as if saying "Asking for a lift". She however gently run her hand on the fur of the Yamper, trying to emulate Ettie and Azur perhaps in what they're doing to Zeit and other puppies. Considering they're both Electric type, surely the Toxel's electric toxin does not quite affect the Yamper like if she touch other Pokemon. Azur quickly approached, looking amused at Sirius splooting like that. He can't help but to poke Sirius on his hind gently. Ah, he got zapped a bit, but even so this felt nostalgic!
"Is she heavy?" he would ask. After seemingly satisfied riding on Sirius, she walked toward Adhara and began patting his head. Such a mysterious Toxel. There's part of her that wondered what on earth should she do to train, but... Greeting around new friends like this felt quite fun in itself. She continues patting Adhara for a bit before turning her attention to Ruffian... but immediately looked away.
That one is a meanie, is what Scathach registered inside her lizardy mind.
She instead moved back to where Ettie is before croaking, like trying to ask what are the wild child and Pokemon duo are doing. She got her answer soon though. Looks like Anne is training for the meantime. She looked curious as of why Anne attacking dummy with her head. is her head that special? Scathach curiously patted her own head, feeling the vague lightning shape on it. But even then, she don't think that it's anything special, at least, not like the way Anne used it.
"..." She's seem to be really interested, and watched as Anne keep hitting the dummy.
As for Azur, he walked around once again to check the rest of his team. Both Tristan and Gusios has now decided to spar. Tristan would use his Icy Wind attack, while Gusios attempted to dodge. Gusios would attempt to shoot dragon pulse, but at times he would switch it around with Ember to keep the slower Tristan on his toes. The two continued this sort of training for a while, seem to be unbothered.
Ciela and Lizbeth now in less chaotic term. Lizbeth is teaching Ciela of how to tie bandage on a dummy. Ciela seem to pick up the technique fast enough, while Lizbeth seem to gain more and more confidence (although Azur cannot help but to notice that she froze and twitch the moment he approached. Ouch. That hurts his feeling). Ciela cannot be taught more technique at this point apparently, so Lizbeth decided that all she could teach is how to apply human treatments such as tying bandages, applying bandaid... Such things. Well, Ciela does not mind the slightest. She also is taught simple techniques such as how to detect pain, which definitely would be useful.
After making his rounds, Azur returned to Ettie's side. "How goes on your side?" he asked.

As Azur teased her, Ettie would be giggling as well; undoing her ponytail, so that she could straighten out her hair and fix it with a wide grin. "What about you?" She'd retort in her own teasing tone, her expression looking quite cheeky. "I could see a bird pokemon making a nest up there!" She'd tease right back, as she fixed her ponytail and tied it back up. As Azur reached down to pat her head though, she'd gently take hold of his wrist - pulling his hand a little closer, so that she could rub her cheek against the back of his hand affectionately. Affection like this was always so nice; and Ettie felt comfortable and close to Azur! "Eheh, of course, Azur!" She'd chirp in response to his thanks, her smile warm and caring.
As Duchess managed to bite down onto Zeit's leg with Thunder Fang, she'd attempt to keep a grip on the Arcanine; pulling on his leg just a little, to make it harder for him to bolt out of the way, and leave him open for Princess' attack! That, of course, relied on Zeit not using Teleport, though; which he was more than happy to use, to try and dodge Princess' attack! He wouldn't be quite fast enough, however; just as he was about to Teleport away, Princess would manage to land her Super Fang in a glancing blow! Ettie, at this, would be unable to help wincing; oof, that looked like that hurt, even if it wasn't a full-on bite...!
And then, there was the teleport actually firing off. Zeit, it seemed, ended up way up in the air; higher than he had intended! Duchess, upon realizing this, would let out a bit of a muffled yelp - biting down harder on Zeit unintentionally, as she simply tried to hang onto the Arcanine! As Zeit descended, he would go into a roll to avoid hurting himself too badly - and while Duchess would be spared from the initial brunt of the fall as a result... She'd still end up being flung off of Zeit's leg as he rolled - yelping loudly, as she went flying a short distance, and tumbled across the ground!
Princess, immediately, would rush over to Duchess' side - checking to see if her sister was alright. Duchess, though, seemed to be mostly unhurt; slowly getting up to her paws, and shaking herself off! The two sisters would briefly nuzzle and groom at each other, before turning their attention back to Zeit. As he stood, the Arcanine would grin to Princess; prompting the Snubbull to stand up a little taller, visibly readied to perfect her Super Fang, just as Zeit was ready to fight seriously! With this in mind, both canines would charge at Zeit; circling around him in opposite directions, and going in for another pair of bites - Princess with her Super Fang, and Duchess with her Thunder Fang!
Meanwhile, there was Azur and Ettie, and the Yampers they were looking after. As Azur commented on whether to call the fight off, Ettie would scratch her cheek a little; remarking "It seems like Zeit knows what he's doing, even if he got a bit carried away with using Teleport before," in a musing tone. "And I'm sure all three of them know better than to hurt anyone too badly." She trusted in her pokemon enough, for them to not go too far or fight too hard!
The nose boop and belly rub seemed to win over Sirius near-instantly, though; the little Yamper yipping and happily wiggling on his back, as he got attention from Azur! Yes! This felt great! He wanted more; gently whining pleadingly at Azur, when the young man inevitably stopped giving him belly rubs. Ettie, though, would happily take up satisfying Sirius' need for love and attention; ruffling his stomach with a happy giggle. "Such a needy puppy, aren't you?" She'd gently tease, though Sirius didn't respond; it seemed that he was more occupied with being on cloud nine, with all the attention he was receiving! Such an adorable pup, Ettie thought to herself as she giggled.
Ettie, meanwhile, would nod in understanding when he mentioned how it was interesting that he had gotten a good handful of pokemon; giggling as she remembered the chaos, with Cheeks. "Even if I never found any Yampers out on Route 4, I did meet Aurien and Pierre out there!" Ettie mentioned with a bright smile; adding "And in the end, not finding any yampers did mean that I was able to adopt Sirius and Adhara!" as she wrapped her arms around both canines; hugging Adhara and Sirius close. The mention of shiny Yampers being 'sort of pink', though, would make her head tilt curiously; the young girl trying to visualize it. "Pink?" She'd question, visibly intrigued.
Once the two pups were playing with Ruffian though, and Scathach approached them, well... Sirius would be unable to help his tail wagging, as Sca clarified that she was asking for a lift. Well, he could do that! Standing up and yipping in understanding, Sirius would run a few laps around Adhara and Ruffian both; carrying Scathach on his back, all the while! Meanwhile, his tail would be wagging from the little Toxel running her hand over his fur; the fact that he was electric type indeed meaning that he didn't mind the toxin all that much, honestly!
As Azur came along to poke him on his hindquarters though, Sirius would softly yelp in surprise; stumbling a bit, and glancing over to Azur with a quizzical gaze. What was that poke for, Sirius wondered? Well, nonetheless, he would shake his head when Azur asked if Scathach was heavy. She might be a little hefty, but he didn't mind ferrying her around for a little bit! Once Scathach began climbing off of his back though, Sirius would run up to Azur, and flop over at his feet - displaying his belly, and making a pleading whine; he wanted belly rubs again!
Meanwhile, Scathach would approach Adhara - gently patting his head. Adhara, for the most part, was unsure what to make of Scathach; but accepted the pats with a calm wag of his tail. Attention was always nice, even if he wasn't as crazy over it as Sirius was; and he did want to return the favor, at least. He, initially, went to lick her - but he'd pause mid-blep for a second, noting the scent of the toxins on her skin. Maaaaybe licking her would be a bad idea, he concluded; deciding to, instead, pat her on the head with a single stubby-legged paw. A tongueful of whatever concoctions were on Scathach's skin probably wouldn't be pleasant!
And finally, there was Ruffian; who, while he appeared as though he were indifferent to Scathach, would be casting the lizard occasional glances with a slight headtilt in her direction - as if he expected her to come up to him and headpat him, too. When Scathach would look away from Ruffian though, and instead wandered off in Ettie's and Anne's direction, the Lillipup couldn't help an indignant bark-like squawk! How dare! Briefly, Ruffian would puff up, looking as though he was going to confront Scathach over the slight; though he would, instead, make a show of loudly huffing. Fine, if she wasn't going to pet him, then he'd just get pets from Azur!
Walking up to Azur and Sirius, Ruffian would plop down in a seated position next to the happy Yamper; insistently presenting the top of his head to Azur, with a rather intense look in his eyes! He really wanted attention, too, didn't he? If Azur didn't immediately give attention, Ruffian would tap on his leg with a paw in a somewhat impatient and needy fashion; clearly insisting on getting attention one way or another.
What he likely didn't expect though, was for Sirius to roll back over onto his paws once Azur was done rubbing his belly, and for the azure Yamper to give him a big slobbery lick up the side of his face..! Ruffian, yelping a bit in surprise, would glance over to Sirius - before tackling the Yamper in revenge, and starting another impromptu playwrestle session!
Meanwhile, there was Ettie and Anne; the young girl glancing over to Scathach, as the Toxel came up to her. "Hi there, Scathach!" She would chirp happily; reaching down to headpat the Toxel, not caring about the tingling sensation the toxins on her skin would inevitably cause. Though she didn't understand the little lizard's questioning croak, Ettie would still mention what they were up to - wiping her palm on her pant leg and chirping "I was just teaching Anne how to use a new move - Iron Head!" Glancing over to the Rockruff in question, Ettie would smile brightly; calling "Can you show Scathach your Iron Head, Anne?"
Anne, glancing over to Scathach and Ettie, would nod; turning her attention back to the dummy, hunkering down low, and focusing. Once more, the silver-white glow would come over her fur, particularly her head, as she charged forward with a valiant snarl; slamming her now steel-tough head into the dummy, and nearly tipping it over! Ettie, giggling happy, would applaud for Anne; glancing down to Scathach. "Teaching Anne some new moves is pretty fun; maybe once you get a bit bigger, we could teach you a bunch of cool moves, too!" Ettie suggested to the little lizard; smiling brightly and warmly. "I bet you could learn a few tricks from Duchess, or the Yamper brothers, once you get a bit older!"
Before long though, Azur would come along - asking Ettie how things were going. Smiling brightly, she'd glance up to Azur - mentioning "I just taught Anne how to use Iron Head!" with a hint of pride, grinning widely. "I'm just thinking of what other moves I might wanna teach her, now..." She'd hum; flipping through the manual a bit. Maybe... Iron Defense, and Stealth Rock? They both seemed like neato moves, for sure! And going off of Iron Head to do Iron Defense seemed like it'd be easy - they both appeared to have pretty similar concepts to them!
With this in mind, Ettie would glance over to Azur - asking "Is there anyone you wanna practice a move on with Anne? I wanna see if I can teach her Iron Defense next, and then maybe Stealth Rock, too!" The notion of this move would, seemingly, catch Anne's attention - the young Rockruff glancing in their direction. Iron Defense, huh...? Briefly, she'd move over to Ettie's side; hopping onto the log that she was seated on, to take a peek at the manual! WC: 1773 TWC: 13635
"Pssh, this is normal. Don't you know that I ever got a Rufflet on top of my head once? Apparently he seriously mistaken my hair like some sort of nest, so no, this is not the first time this happened. Too bad I don't have the photo with me at the moment.... I think one of my colleague have it though."
Hmmm? Azur just noticed that Ettie lately developed this habit of getting his hand closer to place she want him to stroke. Azur smiled and gently strokes the spot she wanted him to stroke. Honestly, what should he do with this little sister... Quite the spoiled one she is... But it's not like he don't understand her. Her gang is probably her world before they broke up and now she's alone and all that... There's something that tugged his heart and before he noticed it, he hugged her, just like big brother on their little sister. He stayed like that for a good ten seconds before letting go. There are times where he wondered if Ettie would answer positively if he ask if she want to be formally adopted by him. The society will not look kindly on a seventeen years old caring for a thirteen years old without blood ties unless it's by adoption anyway...
...Here, perhaps, he have found another family member.
Azur shook his head to clear the melancholic feeling. It's not like he's in bad terms with his parents or anything, but there are times where he felt like he can't really talk with them. Perhaps... because they're the closest to him, and knew him the best... that expectation that he have to tell them something and... the possibility of him disappointed them tortured him. But perhaps, if it's Ettie... one day, he might be able to tell her what's plaguing his mind and what caused him to dislike a lot of people... the origin of his misanthropy.
But before long, he once again ruffled her hair. "...Hey, want me to teach you some self defense technique?"
As for Zeit, he let out a sharp yelp when Duchess pulled his leg down harder. Drats, the kid sure knows how to fight off him, huh... The Arcanine growled, both in pain and in amusement at the challenge. The moment the teleport fired, she latched even harder! Geez! That hurts, that hurts a lot! He was surprised to see that after he descended and rolled away from the impact, Duchess also happened to fall the same way, probably from his initial roll. Ouch. But at least that should teach her to not latch on a Pokemon capable of teleporting next time, especially not their leg!
Looks like Duchess is alright, but at the moment, the one who's most dangerous is princess. In response to her coming closer to him, Zeit would time his teleport. Paralysis still on his body, so it's impossible for him to dodge, especially with his back leg and his front leg hurt like this...
94XdZOUDp_
It was a slim chance, but Zeit was able to dodge the attack with teleport, forcing both sisters to once again misses their mark. However, this time Zeit would appear behind Princess, his fangs bared in an attempt to attack her.
p_
It was even slimmer than the previous turn, but he would try to grab her by the scruff, and if he managed to do it, he would teleport above, before piledriving the Snubbul to the ground in an attempt to knock her out! But he noticed that he's probably about to be out of teleport power soon. His head is starting to hurt... most likely he'll only have about three or four more shots, that is if Arceus is being generous... But he really should keep that four shots only for danger. Whether he'll go down before he beat these two, or whether these two going to beat him before that, only time will tell. He growled more at the two.
Hmmm, well that's fair, but seeing Zeit like this, he wondered if he's not going too far... Well, the Arcanine is growing too, so there's that... Lately, he can sense it, that the Arcanine has grown from his measly 133 centimeters size, to whooping 170 centimeters. Before long, he's ready to be ridden on. Arcanine's normal height is 190 centimeters, which is just a little bit under a foot left to grow left. Once he get to 190 centimeters like all other Arcanines... whoa, come to think of it, that's still size of a war horse...
"...Don't you think Zeit is getting really huge?" Azur asked, wincing. He know he was the one who said that Zeit should grow really huge to get back at his old trainer, but come ON. Look at this absolute unit... And he's still UNDER the true normal sized Arcanines!
Awwww, look at Sirius though! Look at that little cutie! The way he flops on his bellies like that and just like that asking for more just made Azur smile! Awwww! What a cutie... "What, you want more? Double trouble tiiiimeeee~~" Azur singsonged. He followed Ettie's lead and scratched the belly of the oddly colored Yamper. Heh heh, how does he like that? "Liking it? Liking it~? Who's the good boy, huh? Who's the good boy? You are~ You are~" Azur gently gave him one last boop before letting him go play with the other.
"Heheh, well, that's true. You met Pierre and Aurien there. It's such a nice name too, Aurien... Do you know that you can change Pierre's haircut? You can do that in saloon, but if you're dexterous enough you can actually do it yourself! Well, I'm not though. I'm good at grooming, but stylizing the Furfrous aren't my specialty. It's not part of my nursing curriculum... although admittedly, none of my 'traditional healing methods' are part of any curriculum either. It's however a sanctified extracurricular healing techniques with clear result, so there you go, heh heh."
Hmm, so Ettie had no idea about the shiny colored Yampers? Azur took out his phone and checked the entry for the shiny Yampers. Aha, he found one! He showed it at her, showing the pink colored Pokemon that is a Shiny Yamper. "See? Aren't they cute? My mother often called them 'strawberry shortcake'. I think she said that our house's Yamper got few clutches of eggs and told me to pray that one of them would be shiny. She like them... shiny I guess, heh."
Scathach's expression might be locked to the usual Toxel's unamused face, but who says that a Toxel can't let out a happy sounding cry now and then? Although Sirius aren't as fast as Zeit, the fact that the Yamper is happily doing this for her made the Toxel croaks out happily. She let out several series of clicks that sounded like a glee laughter.... probably. It's hard to tell with the serious Toxel. But she definitely is having fun with this gesture. Eventually when Sirius plopped when Azur poked his butt, Scathach also rolled down from him, giving him a gentle pat on the head as a thank for the ride.
Azur meanwhile looked even more amused at the oddly colored puppy's desire for another bellyrubs. Seriously? "Awright, I'll give it to ya. Who's the good boy, who's the good boy huuuuh~?" Azur scratched the Yamper's belly. He wonder if the build up static going to be fine with this pup, or will he use it for something. Then again, he have a Joltik egg that he need to hatch sooner or later. He probably can offer their service to Ettie, just to tell her that she can put them on Sirius or Adhara's butt. They're quite symbiotic, unlike some ticks.
Scathach was about to stop Adhara from licking her, because she remembered what happened to poor Duchess when she did, but thankfully, looks like Adhara noticed that himself. This pleases the serious Toxel who proceeded to pat him back for the pat on her head. Yes, yes, Adhara is a good boy, and Scathach too likes this new friend. Strange as it is, he's younger than her, so she should be a good big sister, right? ...But being a big sister is a pain too so she guess she'll just be whatever it is...
Ruffian's reaction... Azur cannot help but to see it and internally laughing. He's so obvious that he want attention, but Scathach isn't giving him any, and it's just... humorous. Scathach looked around, like asking "what are you so worked up for?" she doesn't get it. Isn't he like... always want to be the boss or something? Wouldn't he thought that headpats are rather childish? What a complicated Pokemon, she really doesn't get him... but whatever. They said 'let the barking dog barks'. She eventually just plopped herself beside Ettie. Azur who saw that tried hard to contain his laughter, especially when Ruffian instead came up at him and stared at him with quite the intense look! And what with that "Excuse me mister, you better give me your attention right now" look!? That's just the cutest. Oh boy, if only he's more honest... ah well, there's no harm in giving it to Ruffian too. Azur gave the pup a scratching on back of his ear, his head, his chest, and finally, if he want to, his stomach. Talk about a tsun.
Too bad their little spoiling session were to be interrupted by Sirius and the two dogs ended up playwrestling again. Azur meanwhile holds up a finger like saying he needed to go to the toilet... well, when he was there, too bad, he's LAUGHING OUT LOUD instead.
Scathach croaked, seem to be interested in seeing this Iron Head... sounds pretty strong too! Upon seeing Anne practicing it, Scathach clapped, as if showing her amazement to the Rockruff. Azur returned just then, and he seem to be pensive before answering...
"Well, I don't think I have anyone I want to train right at the moment... Gusios and Tristan already set I think with their Icy Wind and Dragon Pulse. Ciela too with her Heal Bell, but... I think she can learn Stealth Rock too now that I think of it... Lizbeth is assigned nurse Pokemon, so I don't think I necessarily need to teach her any fighting moves. As for Zeit, I'm actually going to teach him Heat Wave or also Dragon Pulse to make it easier for him to fight against Dragon Types. But Heat Wave isn't bad either considering I could just use it for his Area of Effect ability... Don't you think so? But he's still in sparring so I think I'll refrain for the meantime or something... ahahaha..."
It's pretty intense too. Azur doesn't want to get between that.

As Azur stroked her cheek, Ettie would let out a content sigh; tilting her head against his hand, resting her hand against the back of his, and closing her eyes gently. This felt nice; just a moment of quiet with family, sharing a gentle touch like this. Briefly though, after a short period of just this, she couldn't help but feel a hair melancholic; her eyes opening a hair, as she peered up to Azur's face. Even though she technically hadn't known Azur for very long, and had only initially intended to stay with him for as long as they were going the same way, she was already growing attached to him. He already was starting to feel like family, all over again; and yet...
Would this family - them and their pokemon - remain together? Or will there come a day when they disband and fall apart, just like her old gang? Will there come a time, when she won't see Azur again, or be able to spend time with him like this...?
As Azur pulled her into a hug, Ettie would - initially - squeak a little in surprise, but... Before long, she'd wholeheartedly return the embrace; her hands knotting into the back of his shirt, as she buried her face against him. She was quiet even then, mulling over these melancholic thoughts that drifted about in her head; and she remained quiet, and simply continued to hug him, even when he let go. She, in fact, would only tighten her grip on him for a little longer - and only then would she speak, softly murmuring "You... Won't drift away from me, will you...?" in a gentle and almost fragile tone. She didn't want to lose her family again; not ever. She could only hope, that she'd still have Azur to look up to, even after a long time from now...
As Zeit teleported out of the way of the duo's pincer attack though, they would - once more - be sent sprawling across the soil; although they were able to quickly adjust this time, the duo rolling back up and onto their feet as they shook themselves off. Though, as they glanced about to try and figure out just where Zeit had gone...
... Duchess would bark in warning, as the teleporting Arcanine appeared right behind Princess! In response, the Snubbull would whirl around and leap back a short pace; narrowly avoiding the Arcanine's fangs, as she bared her own in response. She was wisening up to his antics; and this time, she wasn't keen on letting Zeit get away..! Retaliating to the attempted grab, both sisters would leap forward at Zeit; Super Fang and Thunder Fang alike both prepared, the duo hoping to use this close proximity as a chance to strike at him!
As Azur commented on Zeit's size though, Ettie would pause for a second, thinking hard. "He is getting big, but... Aren't most Arcanine meant to be huge, anyways?" She'd soon respond in question, glancing in Azur's direction. "I'm really excited to see just how big Zeit gets, myself; eheheheh!" Ettie would soon giggle; smiling brightly. "If he ends up big enough, then he could carry a whole bunch of people at once, right???" She'd add in question; eyes lit up brightly. It'd be fun, she was sure, for her and Azur to ride on Zeit together...!
... In fact, how big are her own pack mates gonna end up getting...? Glancing in the direction of the other pups, she'd particularly look over Duchess, Princess, and Anne; all three being noticeably bigger than more average members of their respective species... Would this mean that they're going to be huge, too, when they evolve...? "... How big do you think Anne will get, when she evolves?" She'd soon ask Azur, glancing back over to him. "If she gets big enough, like bigger than Pierre, I wouldn't mind letting you ride with me, too!"
Meanwhile, Sirius was proceeding to completely eat up all of the attention that Azur and Ettie were giving him; wiggling in glee, his tongue lolling out and panting, and his little tail thumping against the ground in joy! Yes! He was the good boy! He was the good boy, and he was enjoying being the center of attention like this...! Ettie couldn't help a giggle at this; smiling brightly as she continued to pet Sirius' head, before giving his rump a gentle pat as the Yamper rolled back up onto his feet. "Go have fun, Sirius!" She'd chirp; to which the Yamper yipped in confirmation, briefly licked Azur's and Ettie's hand's, before running off..!
As Ettie watched Sirius go play, Azur's voice would catch her attention; the young girl glancing in his direction, as he mentioned how you can style Furfrou like Pierre. The notion would prompt her to raise her eyebrows curiously, though she'd hum a little; mentioning "I don't think that I could style Pierre; I wouldn't even know where to start!" with a soft laugh, scratching the back of her head. She knew the basics of grooming her pokemon, but not so much making them look fancy! "But maybe I'll go to a saloon with Pierre..?" She'd muse out loud; tapping her chin thoughtfully. "I bet that it'd be fun, to see how fancy we can make him look, ehehehe...!"
And then, there was the question of shiny Yampers. As Azur pulled out his phone, she'd stand up and peek over the older trainer's shoulder, eyes wide with curiosity. Indeed, the shiny Yamper on the screen had a pink hue to its fur - and Ettie's eyes lit up a bit, giggling happily. "Yampers are so cute!" She'd happily chirp; wrapping her arms around Azur's shoulders. "And pink Yampers are really cute, too...!" Maybe she could try looking for a shiny Yamper, at some point? It'd be great, to have a pink Yamper to make for a trio of siblings!
Eventually though, Azur would soon have two attention-hungry pups to contend with - Sirius and Ruffian both..! Sirius seemed to be an utter glutton for bellyrubs; even after getting a bunch of attention from Ettie and Azur both before, here he was asking for even more! Azur was more than happy to give Sirius all the attention he wanted though, scritching at his belly; prompting one of his hind legs to shake and kick at the air, as his tail thumped on the ground! Ah yesssss, that was the spot... Even if electricity seemed to be building a little bit from all the excitement of the attention given, the heart-shaped marking on his hindquarters sparking, Sirius seemed to pay it no mind; instead enjoying the bliss of a good bellyscratch!
And Ruffian, meanwhile, wouldn't be left without attention for long; Azur soon leaning down to scritch him as well. The little Lillipup would press into the other's fingers quite insistently, clearly being keen on getting as much attention out of Azur as he could for this little session. Were he able to speak, it was likely he'd make it clear that he'd let Azur know when it's time to stop! Although... With Sirius soon licking him out of nowhere, and him prompting a playwrestle in retaliation, it would soon be interrupted; the pups playing once more, as Azur slipped away to laugh!
Meanwhile, Scathach would be patting Adhara on the head; the calmer brother accepting the touch with a gentle wag of his tail. This Toxel didn't seem so bad, he decided; though he'd soon glance off to the side, hearing his sibling getting into another wrestling match with Ruffian! Glancing back to Scathach, Adhara would give her one last brief nuzzle with his cheek, before running off - deciding to join in the playwrestlefest, and to try and gang up on Ruffian alongside Sirius!
Which left Scathach to soon come over to Ettie's side; seeing what they were up to. When the Toxel began to applaud, Ettie giggled and clapped along as well; giggling brightly. Anne, too, would seem to glow a bit under the Toxel's praise; holding her head up high proudly, tail wagging.
At Azur's mention of not really having anyone who could spar with Anne, though... Ettie would frown a little in disappointment, but nodded in understanding. "It's okay!" She'd mention with a gentle smile; mentioning "I could probably teach Anne these moves on her own - or even ask Ruffian to come spar with her, instead!" In fact, Anne seemed to already be pouring over the manual on her own; visibly curious about the two moves that Ettie had mentioned before. Stealth Rock and Iron Defense both seemed to have their uses, after all...!
Amused, Ettie would pat Anne on the head - mentioning with a hint of humor "If you wanna learn them on your own, go ahead; I trust you to not tear the manual up, like Ruffian did." The Rockruff, in turn, would bark in understanding; briefly licking Ettie's hand before returning to her studies. Iron Defense, for one, seemed like the easiest one to start with; given that it and Iron Head both had very similar methods, but with different applications.
But, in the meantime... It seemed that Azur wanted to teach her a bit about self defense! This caught the young girl's attention, as she glanced in the young man's direction. Self defense... like with her switchblade...? That seemed a bit dangerous, given that it was a sharp weapon, but... "... Okay!" She'd soon decide with a chirp; pulling out the switchblade, and flipping up the blade!
... Perhaps there had been a misunderstanding here, somewhere along the line. Hopefully Azur would be able to clarify what, exactly, he meant here...!
Anne, though, would have since moved a short distance away; ready to practice learning this new move on her own. Starting with Iron Defense, the young Rockruff would briefly focus and center herself the same way that she did with Iron Head; focusing on the concept of hard tough steel, focusing on the concept of even her head becoming hard as iron itself! Having already learned to use Iron Head to a decent extent, it wouldn't be hard for Anne to once more focus that energy along her head; as though she were ready to bash into an enemy with Iron Head. However, instead of actually charging forward at some enemy or target, Anne would simply hold this focus; instead trying to spread that energy down across her entire body..!
It wasn't quite as easy as it sounded - being something akin to trying to learn to use a brand new muscle, or to otherwise learn to extend just how much she could use a given muscle. Yet, she'd still attempt to focus as hard as she could; eyes clenched closed, and eyebrows focused. Not just her head had to be hard and tough - her whole body, every strand of fur, had to be able to stand up to whatever any given pokemon could throw at her...!
Ruffian, seeing that Anne was up to something, would soon part from the two Yamper brothers - having to squirm himself out from under the duo - to glance over in the Rockruff's direction. His curiosity piqued, he'd trot over to her - barking and questioning just what the heck she was doing, focusing and glowing like that! This would break Anne from her thoughts for a brief moment - the glow fading, now that she was no longer maintaining it! Blinking owlishly, she would take a second to gather her wits and respond; though when she did, she'd turn towards Ruffian, and bark in frustration! She almost had it - though he had distracted her!
Ruffian, initially, was about to retort - though before he could speak up, Anne would simply huff and shake her head. Never mind, she'd remark; in fact, Ruffian could help her figure out this new move. Hunkering down to prepare herself, Anne would bark at Ruffian - telling him to tackle her, as hard as he could..! This seemed to catch him a bit off-guard; the Lillipup tilting his head a little. So he was just supposed to... Attack her, and nothing else? No fight? It didn't seem so; though Anne was once more focusing, once more taking on that silvery white glow across the fur on her head, she wasn't charging forward. She was, instead, bracing herself; ready to try and hold up against whatever Ruffian threw at her...!
And indeed, Ruffian would soon begin to throw himself at her; taking a couple of steps back, before charging forward with a Tackle! As their heads collided together, Anne would grunt a little; but she was, unsurprisingly, not very hurt. Ruffian was quite dazed, however; backing up a few paces, before shaking his head to try and get rid of any dizziness. What the hell was that, he'd wonder; that was like bashing his head into a metal wall..! Before long though, the Lillipup would recover; getting the idea to circle around, and try to attack Anne from a different angle...! Anne, in response, would attempt to focus that energy across those portions of her body; bracing herself against Ruffian's repeated blows...!
With each attack, Anne would be forced to focus on bracing a different portion of herself; protecting more and more of her body, until it was - eventually - entirely wreathed in that silvery white glow..! In fact, even as the glow began to fade, her fur would have a certain shine to it now; as if it was now metallic, much like iron itself...! Shaking her body out, Anne would briefly take the time to look herself over; clearly satisfied with the progress she had made. That was one move down; which meant there was one more to go, then...!
Ruffian, meanwhile, would be panting a little; feeling tuckered out, between all the wrestling, all the running around, and Anne having him use her like a training dummy! It seemed that he'd had enough; for, with a wide yawn, the Lillipup would begin to trot off to get some water. Anne learned her fancy new move or whatever, so his work here was done, he decided. Once he had his fill of hydration, he was going to conk right out... OOC: Teaching Iron Defense to Anne!
Azur was happy with just giving this little girl who he pretty much took as a little sister affectionate cheekrubs, headpats and hugs... but at the same time, imagine his surprise when Ettie did not let go when he does. At first he was wondering if she wanted more hug or something, but at the words, he... was shocked. It felt like an arrow to his heart, and it... it made him realize once more that Ettie isn't just someone journeying with him because she's out to journey, no... she's actually pretty much under his care, as an orphan. Where is her family at the moment? No idea. She only said that she belonged to a gang or something, and they've broken up... leaving her alone. The idea that her family broke up like that is probably similar to what someone feels when their parents broke up... or even worse because she probably had no idea where they are anymore.
...Can he sympathize? Yes he can. Does he understand how it felt? Technically no. He doesn't. He just don't want her to be alone is all. Azur sighed and took out his phone. It'll still be months away before he can formally register her as someone that he want to officially adopts. But even then... she's asking now. He can't just delay the answer. Azur knelt in front of her as she let go, and gently pat her head.
"...I promise you, no matter what, no matter where... you're always my little sister. We don't know what the future will bring, but... I promise you I'll always come back to you, and as long as I'm close to you, I'll stay by your side. I won't drift away or reject you. Sure there might be times where I have to go home to Galar, but I'll always ask you if you want to come... And well, I want to ask if you want to be formally adopted too, heh... I'm still a bit too young at the moment for that, but if I become your formal guardian, it's easier for me to support you if you need anything taken care off legal wise, like if you want to join any associations and such."
Man, he picked up two dogs with separation anxiety doesn't he. Well, at least Zeit is better now that he doesn't seem to be as anxious after he grew bigger but still... If he were to say that he's going back to Galar, he probably would think that he's left behind again... well, nevermind... Speaking of which, the Arcanine...
Zeit was failed in his attack it seems, but he also wised up with his response. The moment both sisters attempted to bite at him, his body lit on flame. It's a warning that if they dare to bite him, he'll burn them. But his priority is to dodge the Super Fang however, as that one is too strong for his taste, and he prefer to dodge as fast as possible...
Fk8yV3PPp_
Zeit managed to dodge the Super Fang, but as for the thunder fang? Yeah that's still coming. He wanted the two of them to get as far as possible from him, and the only way he can thought of how to achieve that? is to make his flame as big as possible. Before he knew it, wind started blowing, or more like the change in temperature, the way it suddenly changes like that releases a great amount of heat that forced the air to expand, and carry forth the heat of Zeit's flame toward the two combatants. While it doesn't seem to be as dangerous as close contact flame, it's actually as dangerous, considering that the heat wave not only could singe furs, it could create a reactive chain of fire too. Azur noted that this is not exactly just a fluke either.
"...Gosh, I think he's learning the technique before I even about to try to teach it to him, but that is actually Heat Wave"
...Yes, that was a heat wave. If Duchess still going to attack him head on, she'll probably get burnt or worse have her liquid level dropping to quite the dangerous amount. As for Zeit, being fire type, he's not as affected even with this sort of heat. Now for the other two? He wondered how much they would fight... most likely if Duchess still wanted to go, through this wave of heat, he'll concede the match to the two younger pups.
Hmmm, Arcanines, huge... yeah, Arcanines are huge. "They're actually taller than me now that I think of it," Azur answered. "But at the same time I guess that's why they're trusted to carry humans in emergency... I can't say they're the smoothest ride, but truthfully Arcanines are your best bet for land based emergencies. They can lit themselves on fire to pass through cold or snowy area, they could cut through routes in such speed that you can cut travel time very significantly... Each Pokemon centers have their own method of transportation and in case of Galar it was special Corviknight Taxi, but even then... if you need any land based carriers... Arcanines, not gonna lie. They're fast, reliable, and good partners.
Yeah, I think a big Arcanine could give ride to two adults with sizable luggage? A huge one could probably do a lot... Speaking of which, Arciel and their huge Pokemons sort of surprises the hell outta me... A Pokemon with max height of twice their usual size is... sort of interesting to see... I have never seen these sort of phenomenon before... granted, I don't think that people over here have seen Dynamax or Gigantamax either but heh..."
Anne... Anne is... Azur looked toward Anne and made a mental calculation. "...Her size is twice of a normal Rockruff... She's a big pup. A Lycanroc is about 80 centimeters in height, so she probably going to end about 1.6 meters in height. So slightly under Pierre, but then again Pierre is also bigger than average... So while Anne would be big, I don't think she'll be as big as the natural big... Zeit that is."
Awwww, look at Sirius. He's really happy with all the attention. Such a cute doggo. Look at his happy face looking at both of them like saying "yes, I'm the big happy!" Azur giggled at the sight of this Yamper and gently smooshed his cheeks. "I could just do this forever to you heh! What she said, have fun!"
Hmmm, styling Furfrou... Azur took out his smartphone and browsed the internet for several ideas of styling Furfrou. Some styles came to mind, but he wondered if any of it are necessarily better than the Furfrou's natural shaggy look. He felt that wild Furfrou are the best, but he have no idea what would Ettie think about it... Regardless... He showed his phone at the younger girl, pointing at the different styles and looks. Does any of that interests her?
"I think there are also perms that different from region to region. These are what available in Arciel... I think because it's Arciel the perm are kind of similar to Kalosian perms... Now that I think of it, some Arcielan does speak Kalosian with Arcielan dialects, right? I wonder if it's because some of them are migrated here before..."
Heh, finding a saloon to style the Furfrou would be nice. "...I wonder if he would like it, considering how... jumpy he is, especially with ghosts. I need to train my other Pokemons too now that I think of it. Willow, yeah, the Misdreavus."
Yampers are cute huh. "Heh, yeah, Yampers are cute. Strawberry Shortcakes, eheh! If the normal one is a Cheesecake then the shiny one are Strawberry Shortcake---at least that was what my mother said."
What happened next after Azur gave attention to Ruffian was a bunch of playwrestling, whoops! Dogs will always be dogs. Or pups actually? Pups seem more like it... But either way, both Sirius and Adhara now teaming up on Ruffian. Poor Ruffian. He just wanted more attention but somehow his two little brothers decided that it's time to play instead. Well, Azur is sure that he can handle it. He's a big boy after all. Scathach meanwhile looked at the three dogs playwrestling and just tilted her head. She wonder what's so good about that? It felt so chaotic... Does these dogs really have unlimited supply of energy? What mysterious beings...
...On subject of self defense, Azur looked alarmed the moment Ettie pulled her switchblade. "Oi oi, hold down a sec, girl! We're not using any of that at the moment! Those are dangerous and I don't want to stitch any of us right now!" ...not to mention, self stitching is absurdly hard to do. He would if only he's more talented on the dexterous side, but nope, he's not. On the flipside, he could decently stitch someone's wound if it's not on him though.
Should Ettie stash back her knife, Azur would bring her to a vaguely human shaped dummy of various size. "Alright, these are the dummies that will be your training target. First is someone on your size, the second is about half a head taller than you, then a head taller, and finally one that towers over you, like my size. This trick is only for when they cornered you, like pinning you near the wall."
Azur walked toward the shortest one. "For one on your size, if you don't like them, strike them on the armpit. The strike is like a stab," Azur would then show her how to with his hand . "Like that. Hand opened, fingers as close as possible to the next fingers, then just like that... JAB. For the one slightly taller than you hit them on their solar plexus. They're this area," Azur pointed at the chest area. "This gonna bring them down easily for you to escape. For someone taller than you, and your fist could reach their chin, just do uppercut. And finally if your arm can't reach them and it's too long, just jump and headbutt their chin. Those are for advances."
Now... "Finally, what happened if they're approaching and you don't want them to approach you? First, face them, don't run. yell at them to step back or to freeze. If they're still coming, then you should do a palm strike at their jaw, as strong as possible. Once they're reeling from pain... this one hurts no matter what your biological gender is... kick to the groin! With men these are very effective." Azur of course demonstrated all the actions while he did that. "And finally when they're reeling from pain, finally knee their head by pulling their head down while getting your knee to their face. That's the step four."
Whew... talk about scary now that he think of it. "...The other one is more to basic, so I'm not sure if anyone ever taught you how to, but have they taught you of how to let yourself free after being caught? For example how to twist your arm free if someone caught it?" Azur asked. Yeah, that one is much easier... and there are of course tricks of freeing self from ropes and other sort of bind...
Wait a sec, what is he exactly teaching Ettie here? ...Somehow did he forgot that all of these are self defense tricks and not some tricks to free yourself from the police? Azur winced. He... he might have missed the point somewhere and just thinking 'how for Ettie to save herself if she got caught by police... darn, is he now an accomplice in this? As Ettie let go of Azur, and he knelt before her, the young girl would gaze down at her feet; twiddling her thumbs nervously, wondering and briefly worrying over how Azur might respond. Had she asked too much, considering that they haven't known each other for all that long? The answer, it seemed, was no; Ettie would relax a little as Azur stroked her head - her thumbs no longer twiddling, as she glanced up to meet Azur's gaze. Being told that she would always be his little sister, though, seemed to have an effect; her eyes growing wet as she once more came in to hug him.
Burying her face against the crook of his neck, a few tears would well up and drip down, and her breath would hitch; though she seemed to be able to calm herself back down, sniffling a little quietly nodding in response to his promises. She didn't mind, if she ever had to go to Galar with Azur - even if she didn't totally get all the big complicated legal things that came with being adopted and the like - just as long as she could stay by his side... "... Thank you..." She'd manage to whisper softly, her hug slowly loosening as she instead simply leaned into him with a gentle and grateful smile; enjoying this proximity, and gradually relaxing against him. She felt safe, being close to Azur like this; she felt at ease...
Neither canine seemed to balk or hesitate at Zeit's flames, meanwhile; both of them being equally keen on proving themselves against the larger Arcanine, from the looks of things. What would it take, for them to back down, short of ending this sparring session early...? Well, a good hit with a strong move might do the trick; Zeit was able to dodge Princess' Super Fang once more - prompting a sharp growl of frustration from her - but before she could attempt to follow up with another attack, let alone before Duchess could land her own Thunder Fang... A sudden wave of heat and flames would wash over the duo!
Both pups would yelp and tumble - knocked back from the force of the comparatively stronger Arcanine's attack - and be sent back a short distance, fur and trampled grass alike being scorched from the flames! Both pups would slowly rise to their feet, gazes sharp and at the ready, but... Princess, it seemed, would stagger slightly; having overall taken more damage out of the both of them, between Zeit's Flame Wheel and this Heat Wave, and showing the signs of being inflicted with a burn! Duchess, noting this, would whine a little to Princess and lick at one of her burns - showing clear concern...
It seemed that the Snubbull had had enough, though; flopping back into a seated position, and breathing heavily. Duchess, meanwhile, would be glancing between Princess and Zeit - wondering whether she should continue sparring against Zeit solo, or if she should call this good, too.
Meanwhile, Azur would be commenting on Zeit having seemingly learned Heat Wave; something that had Ettie giggling a little. "Seems like it!" She'd chirp to Azur; smiling brightly. "A lot of the pups are learning things on their own, it kinda looks like; did Duchess ever show you that trick she learned while we were racing?" Ettie then asked, glancing in the older man's direction. "She was able to make her paws all sparky, and became all floaty whenever she did!"
And then came the talk of how Arcanines were, indeed, big - and how they were, all in all, reliable pokemon for riding across the land! "Ooooh..." Ettie would coo in awe; glancing back to Zeit, and trying to imagine what it must be like to ride on his back... It must be pretty amazing, right? Being able to zip across the land so quickly, with plenty of warm soft fur to simply lay and relax on top of as you ride! "... Can we ride on Zeit's back, together, sometime? I really wanna know what it feels like, to ride on an Arcanine's back!" She'd suddenly ask, smiling brightly to Azur. "I bet he'll get big enough for both of us sometime, if he isn't already big enough..!"
The subject of just how big pokemon here could get, though... Ettie would become curious, tilting her head a little. "Pokemon outside of Arciel aren't like this?" She'd ask, glancing up to Azur. She's heard of Dynamaxing and Gigantamaxing, but she's never realized that pokemon outside of Arciel weren't so varied in size... The fact that she's been in Arciel her whole life probably didn't help in matters, either! "Are they all just... Sort of around average size, outside Arciel, then?"
As the subject of Furfrous came up though, and Azur showed her different styles that some people groom their own Furfrous in... Ettie, quietly, would look over the different photos and pictures; a thoughtful look to her face. Some of these were really cute, in her opinion, even if they didn't seem practical - although... "... Yeah, I'd definitely need to go to a saloon for these; pftahahaha..!" She'd soon admit with a laugh, sitting back. "These styles are all too complicated for me to do myself, I think." Grinning a bit goofily, Ettie would soon add "I'm pretty sure that I'd make Pierre scared of his own reflection, if I ever tried to style his fur at all!"
Yeahhh, probably better to trust a professional on this. Maybe she could learn to style Pierre's fur herself sometime, or even ask Azur if he could, but she definitely didn't know enough about it to do it now. Speaking of Azur training his other pokemon though, well... "Maybe we could both train with different pokemon, sometime? I'd love to give Aurien and Pierre some attention, to teach them some moves, later...!" She'd suggest, smiling brightly to him.
The mention of Yampers being shortcakes and cheesecakes, though... Ettie couldn't help but furrow her brows a little; visibly thoughtful as she wondered out loud... "... If normal Yampers are Cheesecakes, and shiny Yampers are Strawberry Shortcakes... Then what does that make blue Yampers like Sirius?" Tilting her head and thinking hard for a few seconds, Ettie would soon muse out loud "Maybe a blueberry shortcake...?"
As the duo soon ended up on the subject of training self defense, though... It seemed that Azur was quite alarmed when Ettie pulled her switchblade - this was likely not what he expected, when he suggested that they learn self defense...! Upon being told to stand down, Ettie blinked a little - briefly confused, but also somewhat relieved they weren't using knives - before pocketing her switchblade once more. At least this meant noone would get cut - but it raised the question of what Ettie was going to learn, if it wasn't to do with her switchblade!
The answer appeared to be something that was more hand-to-hand; Ettie curiously tilting her head a little, as Azur brought her over to a set of training dummies. She was certainly interested in learning, although... "... I'm not really the strongest," Ettie admitted with a brief frown, glancing down at herself. "I'm strong enough to climb around! But I don't think I could really throw a punch..." She'd murmur; idly trying to flex.
Nonetheless though, regardless of her physical strength, Ettie was more than eager to learn what she could from Azur. For the first dummy, which was closer to Ettie's size, was a strike towards the armpit - something that made Ettie a little curious, as she positioned her hand just as Azur indicated. "Why the armpit?" She'd question; still paying close attention to Azur's teachings and jabbing at the dummy as indicated, but wanting to understand more. Was it a sensitive spot...?
In any case, it seemed that Ettie would practice this jab in particular for a short while - first jabbing at the dummy a few times with her right hand, and then jabbing with her left hand, and repeat for a few cycles before she felt as though she had the jab down pat. It did make her hand feel a little sore, due to being unused to striking at people like this - but the dummy, thankfully, was padded well enough to avoid any actual hurt.
Next, was a slightly larger dummy - one that Azur would direct her to strike at the solar plexus, in the center of the chest, instead of the armpit! This made more sense to her - getting hit in the chest hurt, and if the solar plexus was an especially sensitive spot, it'd REALLY hurt to get hit in the chest! Much like before, Ettie would practice this strike a few times; focusing jabs with either hand into the indicated spot, trying to memorize what she was supposed to do the best she could. Right in the center, just like Azur showed her...
Once she was finished practicing with this set of jabs though, it seemed that Ettie would briefly have to take a break; shaking her hands out as Azur explained the next steps - which are to uppercut those taller, or to straight up leap and headbutt into their chin! The latter of which seemed like it'd be fun to try - going to one of the taller dummies, and proceeding to practically TACKLE the training dummy in the process of headbutting it in the 'jaw'...! She'd proceed to lose her balance on the landing due to her reckless leap, falling onto her back - but she couldn't help but laugh loudly and happily, visibly unbothered by the spill she just took! "Whoops...!"
Getting back up and dusting herself off, it didn't take long for Ettie to return to practicing her strikes; following Azur's lead in punching (and headbutting) the training dummies in the chin. She seemed to, once more, be alternating between which hands she was using, as well as alternating between whether she was punching, or headbutting; giving her hands a break when they were starting to feel sore from lack of use, and giving her head a break when it, too, was starting to feel sore...! "Like this, right?" This was hard work, for sure; but she was going to try her best, to get strong and make Azur proud!
Finally though, were a series of strikes that Azur would give Ettie a rundown of - a palm strike to the jaw, a kick to the groin, and then a knee to the face...! Ettie couldn't help a blink at this - wondering if this wasn't a bit too brutal, (on top of the fact that it seemed like it'd be hard for her to knee a dummy in the face,) but.... Nonetheless, she'd practice these as well - palm striking the dummy in the jaw, kicking it in the closest approximation to its groin, and then her pulling and kneeing at the 'air' when she wasn't able to quite pull down the dummy. Strike the jaw, kick the groin, knee the air, strike, kick, knee....
Eventually, Ettie would decide that it was time to take a break, huffing as she plopped down on the grass; smiling up to Azur. "How'd I do...?" She'd ask softly and breathily; grinning wide and goofily. It seemed that next on the agenda would be to teach her how to free her arm from a grip if she was grabbed - and Ettie would eagerly nod at the suggestion, mentioning "Yeah! I wanna learn everything you've got to teach me, Azur!"
Meanwhile, there would be Anne - who still wanted to learn one more move, before she'd call things good. Though she was satisfied with having recently learned Iron Defense, on top of Iron Head and Covet, she still had a little bit of energy left in her - which she would begin looking over the manual that Ettie had left her, to try and figure out what move she wanted to learn next. Initially, her intentions were to learn Stealth Rock - which would make an interesting utility move - but...
In looking over the pages, she'd soon come onto the entry for a move called Endeavor, which caught her eye. A move that, essentially, put both you and your opponent on the same playing field; something that could come to wonderful use, she had a feeling.
Deciding that she knew the move that she wanted to learn, Anne took the time to pour over the pages describing what Endeavor was - a daredevil move, from the sounds of things. Lashing out, taking a risk while in a weakened state, to leave the opponent just as weakened as you are - Anne was definitely a little beaten up by having Ruffian help her learn Iron Defense, which she hoped was - indeed - the perfect conditions that she'd need to learn the move itself.
Approaching a makeshift training dummy, Anne hunkered down in place; feeling the way that her muscles ached from all the hard work and exercise that she's been doing across the day. Focusing briefly on that feeling, on the idea of the desperate need to even the odds, Anne would tense her muscles; trying to get herself into the zone, to start learning Endeavor. And once she thought that she had the focus and mindset that she needed... She would, suddenly, lash out! Striking out with the claws on her paws and her fangs, Anne began to try and rip into the training dummy - calling on every bit of strength she could...!
The first strike, though, would of course not be the perfect one. As Anne panted and backed away a bit, she could already see that the dummy didn't quite look as beaten up as she'd expected it to be; still standing firmly before her, despite the blows she wailed upon it with. Deciding that her best action was to simply try again, Anne would hunker down a second time; muscles tensing yet again, her breathing coming out in a low and threatening growl... Before she, once again, leaped forward to lash out at the training dummy..!
Another flurry of blows, of clawing and biting and tearing - though Anne's muscles were starting to hurt, she fought against the inanimate object nonetheless with every bit of ferocity that a growing Rockruff could muster! And as Anne landed strike after strike, she could see the way the training dummy was beginning to wobble and shake, the way that wear and tear began to show on it. With one last strike - a backwards kick at the dummy to kick off of it - she'd land a short distance away from it, glancing behind her to see as it was pushed back to eventually topple over...!
Baring her fangs and grinning victoriously, Anne felt pleased with herself; satisfied that she was able to muster a beating like this one on the training dummy. However, an ache that shot through her muscles would soon remind her that she was getting exhausted - that she, perhaps, might have overdone it a little. Panting softly, Anne decided to join Ruffian at the water bowls; taking a drink from her own bowl, before curling up underneath some shade to take a break.
