Sick and tired of being notified every single time someone replies to a thread -- especially if that thread was a one-and-done situation? Activity checks, for instance. You reply to it once to let staff know that you're still active, and as a result, your "Participated Threads" page keeps refreshing with new posts that Proboards thinks you want to see, merely because you posted in that thread once. Maybe this doesn't bother you, but if it does then I might have a way to help keep those one-and-done threads separate from your roleplays or any other thread that you do want to stay notified about.
In two steps, you can do just that!
In two steps, you can do just that!
Step 1 - Select which threads you want to never be notified about again. You can quickly select a group of threads by clicking on the "Select" option and choosing All Threads, No Threads, Read Threads (those threads without the little "New" notification next to them), or New Threads (those threads with the little "New" notification next to them).
Step 2 - Once the desired threads have been checked, click the "Actions" button then select "Mark As Read Forever." And just like that, those threads will never ever be marked as "New" again! Whenever a new post is added to the thread, it will jump to the top of your "Participated Threads" list, but it will never be marked with the little "New" notification.
Are you having problems? This may be because the thread or threads you are trying to select are already marked as "Read." Threads that do not have that little "New" notice next to them have already been "Read," so Proboards does not understand what you want it to do. Instead, it'll only offer you a single option: to mark those threads as "New."
The easiest and fastest way to fix this is to do exactly as Proboard suggests. Mark the threads as "New."
Then you should be given the opportunity to mark them as "Read Forever."
