Hasn’t thought about that/Undecided
Tapu Village, Alola
Tell us a little about yourself. How would you describe yourself?
“You know, being completely honest here, I’ve not been one to do a whole lot of introspection so give me a second here. Erm, I can apparently be rather determined? I’ve been told I have a ‘sleep when you’re dead’ mentality. Not sure I see it myself but they do say you’re your own worst critic. I do try to hear out problems and help where I can, though. Only way we get through hard times is together.”
Why are you interested in the class you've chosen?
“I mean, for what I planned on doing, being able to live off the land was pretty much a necessity. Never know when a freak accident will leave you stranded. Happened to me a few times actually. So the skill set of an explorer was a natural fit. I guess I could’ve also gone the trainer route but....” Alicia shook her head and shrugged. “Battling itself is not exactly a passion of mine. More a means to an end, but useful to be good at regardless.”
Why are you interested in training in Arciel? Why not another region?
“Hehe! Now this is an easy one. One of the biggest goals, either intentionally or as a result of some other plan, an explorer could have. I’m going on a round trip to see the whole world! And Arciel was the next region on the itinerary. It’s a big planet out there and I have quite the wanderlust to satiate.”
What do you consider your best attributes? They can be physical, mental, social, or anything else.
“I like to think I’m fairly quick witted. Not to mention brave when it comes to bailing some one out of trouble. One of those moments is actually how I met Reeshra here.” At the mention of the Pokemon in question, the young woman leaned over and scooped her up. Sitting the sizeable Alolan Vulpix in her lap, Alicia giggled a bit and pet the fox. The fox let out a happy bark and leaned into the hand petting her
What do you consider your worst attributes? Be honest, now!
“… I’m probably going to find myself in an early grave from the very same bravery I mentioned earlier.” Now Reeshra whined softly and nuzzled into Alicia’s chest from the sudden one-eighty in mood. “I don’t exactly have a mental ‘hard cap’ on what kind of situation is ‘too dangerous’ to intrude upon. And I can have a very foul temper once I’m actually mad. Can’t think of anything else off the top of my head.”
What was your childhood like? How was school?
One didn’t have to look hard to notice the haste with which the topic was changed. The soft smile let on that she appreciated it. “Rowdy, to put a not-too-fine point on it. Kind of goes hand in hand with having two older brothers and an… unfortunate birth date. I’ve never looked at a cake the same way again after my fifth birthday...” The tale of the giant Spinarak plush cake explosion would go untold, aside from that vague nod to it, however. “But family is family, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything.”
How is your relationship with your family?
“Pretty good, all told. Mom had had plans to try and make a Coordinator out of me though. Never really shoved me into it, thankfully, but took the time to take me to contest halls and have me sit in on some in the hopes of sparking an interest in it. I wasn’t all too thrilled about being one, and then this scar kind of pulled the plug on any future attempts. But she and Dad were really supportive when they saw my excitement for nature. My brothers, meanwhile, gave me no end of grief over everything. But they meant no harm about it so we all had some good laughs after the fact. I do miss them from time to time, which is why I have this.” Alicia ran a finger over the small locket hanging from her neck and smiled fondly as she regarded it.
What do you like to do for fun?
“Taking a stroll through the wilds with my partner here, reading a particularly interesting book, hanging out with friends I’ve made… You know, simple stuff like that. Not much more to say.” Reeshra looked up and reached a paw to pat her cheek pointedly. Which made Alicia look to the side and roll her eyes. “Oh, right, how could I forget something you find so important?” With a quick pet on the fox’s head, the woman elaborated, “I’ve also begun trying to pick up cooking here and there. I’m not very good yet but its something relaxing when it comes together.”
What are your feelings on romance?
There is silence for a short moment. Alicia’s eyes dilate and her cheeks redden. Reeshra ducked down and covered her ears with her front paws. Then the woman shakes her head and arms furiously.
“NOPE! NOPE! NOT GOING THERE! SKIP! SKIP! SKIIIIIIIIIP!” came the frantic wail regarding the topic she’d pointedly not given any thought about. The fact that she then immediately clammed up upon any further prods regarding the question pretty much forced the issue to move on. While not ignorant about it at all, she’d never actually even entertained the thought of having a romantic partner. So having suddenly been asked about it, her recourse was to forcefully bury it under a metaphorical rug and continue not thinking about it. It wasn’t like she’d ever have time for that anytime soon, right? Romantic relationships usually required settling down in a long-term home, or so she believed, and thus was anathema to her current way of life.
What are your goals for the future? Short-term and long-term.
“Ahem… Well long term at the moment was seeing the sights of every region, and maybe grab a nice souvenir as a memento reminding me of the places I’ve been to. Short term…? Probably try and get Reeshra evolved and flesh out an adventuring party of a team? It’s getting a bit lonely, just the two of us.”
If you could be a Pokemon, what species or typing would you choose and why?
“I… that feels like another odd one to ask. Um, I’m torn between the Flying and Dragon types to be honest… so maybe the best of both worlds and be a Dragonite? Would make round-trips between regions faster so I’d have more time to hang around and appreciate the finer things. Also, dragon, who doesn’t at least momentarily consider what it’d be like to be one?”
What do Pokemon mean to you?
“Partners, friends, family away from home, all that good stuff. You get a good bond going with a Pokemon and you’ve got a faithful companion no matter how grim things get. Who knows when one will be able to help you out of a bad situation, am I right?” Alicia smiled and hugged Reeshra close to her, burying her chin into the soft fur of her partner. “Truly our world would be a darker place without all these vibrant and unique Pokemon around.”
Anything else you'd like to tell us about before you go?
“Eh… nothing else really comes to mind. Oh wait, actually, do you guys need to know if someone’s got abilities beyond human normal? Because I’ve got some Aura under my metaphorical belt after a close, split-second encounter.” What, exactly, that encounter was, she didn’t seem interested in actually elaborating on.
5’7” / 170~cm
Lean and toned
Long days in the sun from traveling all over has left Alicia’s skin a light bronze in coloration from it’s original white. Pink locks hanged down to her shoulders, with a few coming forward to frame her eyes. Her’s was a soft expression, as she rather preferred a brighter outlook. But alas, there was something marring that expression. A shallow scar ran from the bridge of her nose to the far corner of her right cheek, as a reminder of an event in her past. Her attire was simplistic and functional, a black shirt over a pair of loose jeans, finished with a set of brown, sturdy hiking boots. Around her neck, a locket hung high on her chest with a family photo tucked away securely inside. On her back was a hefty backpack, filled with all the little necessities one would need while travelling, with both a light jacket and heavy coat strapped to it to deal with changes in weather.
A two-part display; one part roiling inferno intermixing red and green hues that was tightly woven around her, and another part a silver ‘coating’ with dark brown highlights that moves with her and contained the mentioned fire, appearing almost representative of a proud armor. The coating leaves her face ‘uncovered’, even as the flame whirls fiercely.
