The day of Josh's second appointment at the Ash City Gym had arrived. Early that morning, he dialed the receptionist's phone to confirm he would be showing to his appointment, and would be emailing his completed application instead of filling it out in person. This way, there would be a minimal wait time once he had arrived. Knowing what he was up against, and being able to better prepare for it, was going to make all the difference in the battle. While Resheph wasn't strictly a water-type Pokémon, she could handle virtually all elements except extreme cold and holy light well...and there wouldn't be any of that at Ash's Gym.

The one thing that did have him worried, though, were the trials. Six weeks had passed since Josh's last visit to the gym, and by then the Leader had certainly crafted a new escape room for him to challenge. Though knowing exactly where the kill switch temperature was gave him a much better barometer of how much time remained for him to solve the puzzles, these would be brand new.

At just before eleven in the morning, Resheph landed with Josh just outside the Gym's entrance, the two passing by a dejected trainer who had just lost their challenge. That didn't reassure him at all. He recalled the dragon-type and entered. "Good morning - Josh Devlin, 11 AM appointment with Leader Caelean for today, please," he greeted the Leader's secretary.
