Set in the original region of Arciel, Legends Rising is a route-inspired, but not strictly route-based, Pokemon roleplay. Pick a faction, pick a class, and strike out into the wild to take on the League, master Contest coordination, research the mysteries of Pokemon and Arciel, and much, much more. Will you be a classic trainer? A criminal? A farmer? Choose your destiny on Legends Rising.
To participate in the Swarm, first post in this thread looking for a Pokemon. A mod will tag you and reply with stats for one Pokemon you find, including color and possibly even evolution depending on the species. Reply again encountering and trying to capture the Pokemon. Once you succeed, do not post in the thread again.
You may only find one per character, no rerolls. This is to prevent spamming to find special Pokemon. If for any IC reason you need to encounter another, use the same stats originally rolled and pretend it's a different individual.
Pokemon in Swarms have a 20% chance of being a special coloration!
Pokemon in swarms have a +20% capture rate with any ball, and will never flee.
This swarm closes at 11:59pm site time on October 7. After that, no new encounters will be spawned. However, anyone who has an ongoing encounter that isn't yet finished has until 11:59pm on the 20th of October to finish trying to catch their encounter. After that, the thread will be locked and archived.

It was a pretty ordinary day on Route 7 - Borzil having decided to take the time to let Gumdrop and Honeybunch run about and get some fresh air. Daisy, Rose, Tulip, and Buddy all would be out and about with him as well; Rose and Daisy taking the time to 'play' by headbutting eachother, as Tulip chased along after Buddy wherever the Diglett pleased to pop up.
Yep, today was a nice day to let his pokemon get some exercise and play - and who knows?
Perhaps a playbuddy, wandered down from the nearby mountains, wouldn't be too far behind as well... Daisy the Bouffalant - Level 6 Tulip the Mudbray - Level 1 Rose the Cranidos - Level 5 Gumdrop the Eevee - Level 6 Honeybunch the Eevee - Level 10 Buddy the Alolan Diglett - Level 5

Sunset had wandered around Birch City and decided to go and have a look on Route 7. She had heared some rumours about a Rockruff swarm that was supposed to be here. And a puppy Pokemon, who didn't want a puppy Pokémon? Well, Sunset did. So, a little early on her planning that she wandered here. But hopefully it would be worth it.
Sunset continued on the route, looking left and right. She heared them before she saw them. She smiled as she walked towards the group of Rockruff, waiting to catch one's attention.

Oh you have no clue how happy I am right now!!
Sunset was surprised to see tjat a strangely coloured Rockruff was heading towards her. She quickly thought it trough, how to aproche it. She wanted it to be her friend. So that was her plan. 'Hey there little girl!' Sunset started. The blue puppy was clearly interested in her. She slowly came towards Sunset. 'You are pretty beautifull! Would you like to join us?' Sunset asked her. Than she continued, more quietly 'Don't tell the others, but you are my favorite Pokemon!' She smiled and picked an Ultra Ball from her bag and offered it to the Rockruff

So far, Catrhyn's time in Arciel had been an interesting one. Then again, she had only been in Birch City so far which, as nice as the city was, did get a bit boring after a few days. Being out and about gave her the chance to see something new. Plus it was an opportunity for Silver and Princess to run about. The two eevees were used to cities, yet as they ran about outside they always seemed more enthusiastic.
Wandering along the route, Cathryn made sure to keep an eye out for the two eevees. When they were playing around they sometimes wandered off too far. But for the moment, they were still within sight.

Elizabeth ventured out of the weeping forest traveling from her secret base within the forest. Her Rotom Phone had alerted her to the recent swarm of Rockruff in the area and the ranger figured it wouldn't hurt to find her another of the rockruff line. With three different evolution forms, it made sense to have one of each.
Her team traveled with her per usual, Tansy and Raya ever by her side. Joining the staple pair was Naqiy the infernape, Kiah the arcielian arcanine, Rajani the shiny mightyena and Ildri the centiskorch. Naqiy and Rajina were from her home region just like Tansy and Raya. The infernape wasn't at all happy about all these changes to his life. He followed closely behind Liz whilst meticulously picking at his fur in a bit of a nervous manner. The ranger felt sorry for the fiery fighter hoping he'd be able to cope with the move in time.
Rajani however had no qualms about having a new place to explore. The skilled tracker had stalked ahead sniffing out for signs of the rockruff in the area. While she missed her mate Adesh, Liz had promised to try and get him through customs soon. She wasn't exactly the clingy sort anyway.
Kiah and Ildri were some of the newer additions and were still getting a feel for the team's dynamic. Ildri didn't seem too fussed with her new found family and was happy to creep along behind everyone at a relaxed pace. Kiah was happy to lope ahead and sniff everything before bounding back to Liz and giving the young woman a big, wet kiss. The gentle giant was nothing but a big sweetie despite her intimidating size.
The group spread out a bit as they continued their search through the rough terrain for one of these swarming rockruffs. Perhaps they'd even get lucky and find one of an unusual color or even with the ability Own Tempo. Whatever they found it should certainly be interesting.
"Rutile, I know you're excited, but I don't think this is a proper time to act like you own the place!" Agate scolded the Rockruff who seem to just looked away as if saying 'what are you saying? It's at time like this that the princess should show her dignity!'... well, she's a self proclaimed alpha after all... but... well, how to say, even he felt a bit complicated. Jasper let her leads him because he felt as the bigger one he should be generous and let her do whatever... but looks like it makes her bigheaded...
......Eh well.
"Anyway, uh... I guess I'll leave the picking to you. Please go on ahead."
Rutile barked as if saying to leave it to her. After all, she'll make sure to find a great follower! A pack leader will only the best of the best! And now, she's off to scout! She'll be back! Back with hopefully a strangely colored fellas!

After a while, Cathryn noticed Silver and Princess acting strangely. Almost like they were looking at something. “Hm? What’s this…” Cathryn muttered as she headed over to the two eevees.
Walking up to the two, she saw what they were looking at. It was a Rockruff, standing only a few metres away, looking back at the eevees. But one of a color she had not seen before. Bright blue. Admittedly, one of her favourite colors. Plus, a pokemon with an unnatural color would definitely be perfect for a contest. Less than a second later, her mind was set. She would try to get this Rockruff to come with her.
“Hey little one.” she said to the Rockruff, crouching down to be more or less eye to eye with it. She took some of the treats she had originally taken along for the eevees and offered them to the Pokemon. “You know, the color of your fur really reminds me of the sky. It’s beautiful.” Cathryn said in a soothing tone. “Do you want to come with us? I’m sure Princess and Silver would like to be friends with you too.”

Rajani was of course the first to encounter the lycanroc. The rock canine sat almost perfectly still alongside a large boulder along the side of the route. She sat quietly watching the ranger and her troop with a steady gaze, presumably stalking them. Rajani's keen nose however picked up the other lupine's scent and the mightyena slipped around behind the lycanroc and let out a low growl. Lycanroc jumped back and turned to face the dark type who'd cornered her. She narrowed her eyes but Elizabeth hurried up to the pair.
"Hey, hey, easy now. We're not looking to fight Lycanroc." The ranger called out cautiously. Rajani flicked her gaze between her trainer and the lupine warily. She relaxed her stance a little but still kept a sharp eye on the rock type. Behind Liz, Raya, Tansy, Naqiy and Ildri moved in to watch the commotion. Kiah however bounded forward and greeted the lycanroc with a happy 'wuff'.
"Oh! A new friend!? Hi!" She pranced over to her fellow rock type and promptly gave the red lupine a sloppy kiss. Lycanroc sputtered and stepped back as she tried wiping slobber off her face. Liz gasped a little in surprise then covered her mouth to stifle a laugh. Even Raya cracked a grin though she watch to see if the lycanroc would retaliate. Rajani tilted her head to the side then sighed and sat down and began cleaning her paws as it seemed there was no longer much of a threat.
Lycanroc blinked at Kiah a bit stunned by the canine's affection but she too seemed amused by the arcanine's actions and was inclined to forgive her fellow rock type the accosting. Her red hued eyes took in the ranger and she inclined her head in a hesitant greeting. Liz sighed and approached slowly as she reached out to place a hand on Kiah's shoulder, the arcanine still dancing in place and looking quite proud of herself.
"Er, sorry about that Lycanroc. Kiah's just excited. We were hoping to meet one of your line out here. We're seeking new members for our team to travel the region and help protect the people and pokemon throughout. Do you think that might be something you'd be interested in?" The brunette inquired telepathically as she offered up a bluk berry and a pokeball, watching to see if the lycanroc would accept.

Of the assembled group, it would be Gumdrop and Honeybunch who'd notice the approach of the Rockruff first - a way's down the road, towards the mountains. With the similar coloration and distance, they'd both almost think the Rockruff to be a fellow Eevee, and would bound up towards the puppy pokemon - eager to make a new friend - drawing Borzil's attention as the duo passed. "Hm?"
As the trio approached the rock-type though, the siblings would soon notice that this other pokemon wasn't an Eevee; prompting a curious tilt from the both of them, that the wild Rockruff would respond to with a tilt of her own head. "Huhm... Aren't you a cute lil Rockruff..." Borzil would muse and gently coo; kneeling down to make himself more approachable, and extending a hand in her direction. The rockruff, in response, would sniff it - tail tentatively wagging... Before licking the back of his fingers in an affectionate gesture; something that brought a bright smile to Borzil's face!
"Hahaha; cute indeed!" He'd hum, scritching the pup behind the ear, to which she'd happily bark...
... Or, at least, attempt to. Instead, the sound would come out as more of a barely-audible wheeze; to which Borzil blinked, wondering. Was the Rockruff okay? Or... was she mute? In fact, now that he noticed it, it seemed as though this pup was completely lone - which seemed odd, for a normally social species.
Though he initially was unsure about taking in a Rockruff to his already growing party, he'd take a second to think, before pulling out a pokeball. "Hey... Do you wanna come with us, for a bit?" Borzil questioned. "You seem a little lonely, being all by yourself, and I wouldn't mind having you hang around." Pokeball w Ranger Bonus, go!

Her next swarm venture took her to route 7, where she'd seen and heard reports of a grouping of Rockruff making their homes amongst the rocks and rugged terrain. Truthfully, there had been a part of her that had hoped she'd see the hulking giant of a man that she'd come to bond with over her first few months in Arciel, but when she arrived and saw nothing save for the occasional pup bounding across the plains, she tried not to feel too letdown. Rather, she instead focused on her current goal of looking for a Rockruff, any Rockruff, with the notion of adding it to her team - and her dex - to give her menagerie of pokemon an additional type variety.
While she didn't seem to be hurting for rock or ground-types, she had to admit there were some advantages to the species that were lacking in others. Their mobility and speed, for one, the four-legged puppy pokemon having more range of movement than, say, a Geodude or even a Roggenrola. For this excursion she'd decided to bring with her some water types, again leaving Fembra and Reddy behind in favor of giving the other pokemon in her collection time to stretch their legs. Another egg was swaddled at her side, this one glinting like steel, and she adjusted it carefully before continuing up the road, looking this way and that for any Rockruff that might choose to jump out at her.
She hadn't been long on the path when a small pup ended up bounding onto the bath in front of her, tail wagging happily. It seemed a little slighter than the norm, and when she looked at the groups of Rockruffs clumping here and there along the path her suspicions were only confirmed. While not the runt of the litter, it was still rather below-average, but the little pup didn't seem to much mind and instead looked at her with a curious gaze, standing boldly in the middle of her path and preventing her from escaping. Perhaps this was an encounter that didn't need a battle? The Rockruff seemed complacent enough, not attacking quite yet, and she knew she had a few pokeballs which were well suited to its level discrepancy, she expected.
Still, a chance to test out her skills was not something she was going to pass up, and after mulling it over she removed Froakie's pokeball from her belt and let the frog fly. As soon as Rockruff saw what was happening it assumed a defensive stance, ready to either attack or defend at a moment's notice. Froakie shook itself free, looking from her master to the Rockruff and then back again, and the battle soon began.
Type advantages were something Faolan took advantage of, utilizing a combination of Water Pulse with Bubbles to lay waste to Rockruff's natural weakness. The pup, in turn, Bit at Froakie whenever they clashed against each other, remaining on the defensive with a combination of Sand Attack that had Froakie struggling to aim correctly, and Double Teams to throw the water-type off its game. Froakie continue, per her master's commands, and when the was a second-long lull in between the battles, the Rockruff gearing up to charge the water-type again, Faolan removed the Nest Ball from her satchel, minding the metallic-gleaming egg within, and tossed it at the Rockruffmid-charge.
