Age 20 Birthday December 14, 1999 Gender Male Pronouns He/Him/His Orientation Closeted Homoflexible Faction Freelancer Class Ranger Rank Coffee Gopher Occupation Ranger Hometown Chrysanthemum City, Arro Current Residence Bass City | Tell us a little about yourself. How would you describe yourself? "I guess I'd describe myself as determined. No matter what I set my mind to, I'm going to go to great lengths to get it done." Michael knew that being conceited usually didn't make any fans and so he decided to forego mention that he was handsome, well-off, and even smart. He felt those were all pretty accurate descriptions, though. Why are you interested in the class you've chosen? "I have to be honest with you here. I almost entirely want to be a ranger because of how closely they have to work with their Pokemon. It's always fascinated me how officials and their Pokemon are so in sync with each other that commands are barely necessary." Okay, maybe there was also a part of him that wanted to be a ranger because if you're the law, less people question if you're breaking it. That definitely wasn't something he was going to tell the interviewer. Why are you interested in training in Arciel? Why not another region? "I love Arciel. I mean, I've already lived here for four years. It was kind of rough moving here at first. I wanted to go back to Arro," he laughed, "but I'm here and it seems logical to stay here. Besides, my family is here. I'd rather stick by them at this time in my life." What do you consider your best attributes? They can be physical, mental, social, or anything else. "Ah, of course... My best attributes would be my strength--I may not necessarily look it, but I can lift quite a bit--and my perserverence. I suppose I'm also pretty fast. I don't think of that quite as often." He was also pretty good at keeping to himself, but that seemed a little suspect to mention. Even mentioning his speed made Michael wonder if the interviewer would question why that was a good attribute, but they didn't. What do you consider your worst attributes? Be honest, now! "My worst attributes would probably be... hmm. I'm not very patient. I can get really frustrated really quickly if things aren't going the way I was hoping. I guess I'd say that's the bad side of my perserverence. I'll keep doing things even when they frustrate me and... well, then I can get kind of angry." And potentially violent. He wasn't going to admit to that, though. What was your childhood like? How was school? "My childhood was fine. Being part of a rich family, you kind of automatically have a good childhood. I mean, school friends can be really fake if they're just trying to get in good with the rich kids. There were plenty of tensions in the family, but... at least I wasn't starving. I made it through school. Maybe not with flying colors, but with decent grades." How is your relationship with your family? "That's kind of a tough question. I love my family, especially my siblings. One of them is... apparently mad at me. I'm trying to figure that out. I get along fine with my parents and my other sibling. I mean, if I'm being honest, I'm not a big fan of Mom, but now that she's not doing so great on the health side of things, I don't think it's fair to hold the past against her." What do you like to do for fun? Drink. Instigate bar fights. Sneak into homes just to get a look around. Yeah, Michael wasn't about to mention any of those things. "I... took up painting recently, if you can believe it. It's kind of soothing, actually. I go to the gym pretty frequently to keep myself in shape. Pokemon training seems like it will be great too. I've never done the whole adventure thing so I'm looking forward to it." What are your feelings on romance? There was a long silence in response to this question and Michael actually looked off to the side toward the wall. Settling his chin into his hand, he took a deep breath as he tried to think of how to answer this one. "I don't... see how this is relevant." Michael wasn't even sure himself how he felt on romance. All he'd ever really had were crushes and they didn't last long. Never the type for relationships, he'd avoided even going on dates. He couldn't outright admit it, but he was rather confused on the whole concept of attraction in general. What are your goals for the future? Short-term and long-term. After a moment of looking thoughtful, Michael shrugged a little. "I guess my biggest goal is to reconnect with the sibling I mentioned before. I have to track down his ass first, though," the boy mumbled, only to look up with some shock that he let that slip. "Ah, sorry about that. Um, I guess I want to traverse all the most difficult parts of Arciel. I hear there's a huge volcano over in the eastern part of the region. That sounds like fun to climb to the top of." There was a pause as Michael gauged the reaction from the interviewer before continuing, "You know? I'd also really like to see a Legendary Pokemon face-to-face. I can't see how they're any more special than any other Pokemon. I'd like to actually see them prove that they deserve to be called legendary." If you could be a Pokemon, what species or typing would you choose and why? Now this was a question Michael hadn't really expected. He hummed thoughtfully, answering, "I think maybe electric-type. They're known for being quick and able to pack a punch. Most can't really take a hit too well, but... Electivire is a good example. They are strong but can usually keep going for a while before needing to rest. Plus, they're fairly speedy given their bulky size." What do Pokemon mean to you? "On the risk of being cliche, what don't they mean? They're partners, friends, helpers, protectors, and best of all: family. In the field I chose, I'm going to be working with them as partners. When we're home, though, they'll always be my family." This was absolutely true, but he also didn't mention that friends and partners and even family could just as easily be tools. He and Gabe often used each other's strengths to their advantage, after all. Michael fully planned on his Pokemon being useful and close to him. Anything else you'd like to tell us about before you go? "I can't really think of anything. Just that I'm planning on being a well-known Ranger. People may even think of me as the face of the Association." He hadn't considered this a goal, exactly, so he hadn't mentioned it then. Rather, it was an expectation. |
Appearance
Height 5'10" / 178cm Build Lean and muscular Hair Color Purple Eye Color Gold | There are remarkably few scars on Michael's body but one of note is one one his left elbow from when he got caught on a fence. He has one hoop in his left ear, placed where most people get their second piercing, higher up on the lobe. Michael likes to keep with the fashion of the time (because you attract less attention when you are wearing the same things everyone else is) but sometimes put a little bit of his own spin on things. He tries to be subtle and stay under the radar. Aura There usually isn't much movement in Michael's aura. It is almost entirely red, a oval around his body. Within the red are spots of green and in those are spots of brown. Littered throughout are small dots of black. |
