After hours of anxious research, Ilma had settled to try  to get through Route 7 on her own. She had been alone this entire time, but each new step was frightening. Part of her knew it was because she felt her team was lacking, especially since Little Bear doesn't fight. Sunshine was left on her own to defend the two of them, and Ilma didn't like that one bit. So she had formed a plan. The first step was easy enough, to get far enough away from Birch and just a teensy bit off the path. It was still midday by time that happened. The second step was to set up the fire incense she had purchased, which was also easy enough. She had prepared her backpack for this journey, and came ready for her plan. The third step was to wait for pokemon to show themselves. Little Bear was in her arms, comforting her human. And Sunshine was ready to make a new friend, as soon as she battled it some. And so here they were. Ilma was pre-frightened from all of this, but Little Bear was keeping her calm enough to stay coherent. But it had to be done. The fire incense must work quickly, because it wasn't long before a Vulpix showed up. Ilma smiled with hope as Sunshine quickly got to work with the attack Fake Out. The wild vulpix seemed confused and flinched quite hard, not giving it time to attack back before Sunshine used Sing to lull the wild fire type into a tired daze. It got in a solid Ember attack before falling asleep. Once the vulpix was asleep, Sunshine meowed contently at Ilma. While she couldn't keep track of what exactly happened, Ilma took Sunshines cue and tossed an empty pokeball at the sleeping vulpix with hopes that it works. Little Bear watched the battle carefully the entire time, impressed at Sunshine's ability to always defend them. Once she saw her pokemon friend was out of battle for now, Little Bear growled thankfully at her feline friend. Summary: capture attempt on sleeping vulpix with regular pokeball, and a random journey spawn. Fire incense: 2/5

Oh no, oh no no no. This wasn't good at all. Ilma had mistaken the vulpix as awake and sneaking in the grass, when in reality it was sleeping soundly. She realized too late as Sunshine battled the startled pokemon, and decided to commit to it by throwing a pokeball... only for the now angry vulpix to wake up, escape from it, and cry out in frustration. Sunshine kicked the thrown pokeball back in Ilma's direction and a moved in for a Double Slap attack. the wild pokemon evaded it, returning a Disable. Unable to use her next move, the vulpix then Tackled Sunshine. The two went rolling away from Ilma, who went running to follow them. "Please be careful!" She called out telepathically, clutching Little Bear in one hand and tossing a pokeball with the other. Capture attempt using regular pokeball Fire incense: 3/5

They weren't careful, the pokeball broke after a sad attempt at catching the vulpix, and the battle continued on. Sunshine was no longer easily in the lead, as the wild vulpix was grumpy and motivated to prove a point. The two were neck in neck as far as exhaustion goes, and soon the battle started slowing down. Ilma saw this and started to worry more intensely. Little Bear called out to her loudly, which brought the panicked mess back into the real world. She carefully chose another pokeball, and cautiously threw it at the vulpix again. "Please don't fight, I just want to pet you!" She tried to call out mentally as loud as she could. This vulpix was strong and determined, and looked elegant and proud. Ilma was sure that if it decided to join them, it'd get along well with the others. But it wasn't looking likely, not with how long this whole situation was taking. Attempting to catch the vulpix with a regular pokeball Fire incense: 4/5

It... It wasn't meant to be, and the vulpix fled before much more damage could be done. Ilma visibly frowned and plopped to the ground. Sunshine came running over to make sure she was okay, and when she knew her owner was fine, she sat protectively her feet. The tired delcatty kept an eye out for other pokemon, while cleaning the mess of battle off her fur. Little Bear sat comfortably on Ilma's lab, and hugged her stomach gently. She knew how much her human wanted that vulpix, and was saddened that it didn't feel the same way. After resting for a little while for Sunshine to catch a breath, Ilma got back to the present moment and thanked her pokemon for their support. Fire incense 5/5
