A trainer wearing totally inappropriate clothing for journeying had begun journeying along Route 2. Her outfit consisted of a beautiful purple-gray gown reaching down to her ankles, a pair of white pumps on her feet, a white fur coat, and a large fancy hat, white with feathers to match her dress. She walked with purpose and as though she'd been walking in heels her entire life, but she wrinkled her nose at every leaf that deigned to be in her path and tried to step over or around all of them.
The sparkling blue Pokemon walking beside her was carrying a purse containing her traveling supplies, since Magnolia herself didn't want to carry it right now. She seemed content; other than when they were journeying, Khione the shiny Snorunt was extremely spoiled, and was happy to assist her trainer with whatever she wanted her to do.
"Khione, please get me my mirror." The Snorunt rotated the bag's strap so that the bag's opening was in front and dug in to find a small, fancy folding mirror, and handed it to Magnolia, who only bent down just enough to reach the item. She flipped the mirror open and examined her face, looking this way and that to search for flaws; finding nothing out of place, Magnolia handed the mirror back, said, "Thank you, Khione," and the pair continued walking. Khione grinned as she went. She was happy to be out and about with her trainer, even if her trainer didn't much care for journeying. It was fun!

A tiny blue slug slithered across the path in front of Magnolia, leaving a slime trail behind it. She gave an involuntary sneer, not wanting to step into the goo, and grabbed the Pokemon with her telekinesis, lifting it from the ground with a pop before it covered the whole path across. She stepped around it, then gently placed it back down on the other side of the path.
The confused Pokemon wiggled while in the air, but once it was on the grass it high-tailed it out of there. Meanwhile, Khione carefully gave a hop over the slime trail left behind, trying to follow her dear trainer's example of not getting dirty. There was still quite a lot of traveling to do, but at least they would try to stay clean for a while.

Another wild Pokemon appeared almost right after the Shellos had disappeared into the brush. This one was far cuter and more appealing to Magnolia; a little pink Snubbull, with visible underbite and cute pink and blue body. Adorable!
"Khione, please fight this Snubbull. I wish to capture it." Magnolia directed her Pokemon forward, taking her purse from the Snorunt in her hands before she went too far forward. The Snorunt excitedly rushed forward, ready to fight! "Begin with a Powder Snow, try to freeze it in place, dear." The Snubbull had been oblivious until Khione was upon her and sending a flurry of icy snow right into the wild Pokemon's face.

The Snubbull fought back after being struck with the cold attack, hitting Khione with the old Charm. Khione didn't seem to care, and attacked once again with a Powder Snow.

Still hanging on stubbornly, the Snubbull lashed out with a Tackle attack, striking Khione hard and knocking her away. She was still able to use Powder Snow once more, however.

After the third Powder Snow attack, Magnolia ordered Khione to stop and threw a Poke Ball, hoping to capture the captivating Fairy-type Pokemon for her own.

Magnolia levitated the Poke Ball containing her newly captured Snubbull and placed it into her bag, right next to her Feebas. Khione danced back over to her trainer, hopping up and down and expecting praise. Magnolia gave a rare smile and crouched to pat her Pokemon on the head. "You did well, darling. Now, let's keep moving, shall we?"
It was still damp and chilly, but Magnolia was quite enjoying being outside anyway. The fresh air was good for her, after all, right? As they continued on, a horrible, chilling sound rang out, shaking Magnolia to her core. "What was that?" She edged closer to Khione and they both stopped to look around, fearful of whatever that awful noise had been. Suddenly, a weirdly elongated shape came from within a copse of trees and approached the trainer and her Pokemon, making that horrible wailing noise again.
"It's a Pokemon.. Khione? Do you think you might.. scare it away?" Magnolia was trying to keep it together, when what she wanted to do was flee; it would be difficult enough to run in these heels, anyway. Khione bravely stepped forward, giving a tiny war cry, and attacked the waiting Gourgeist with a Powder Snow.

The attack seemed to barely touch the wild Pokemon as it leaned forward, angry at having been attacked. The Gourgeist used its Astonish attack to make Khione flinch, then sent a Confuse Ray at her, intending to make her hurt herself.

Khione was hit, but did not flinch. She was able to use Powder Snow again before the Confuse Ray struck.

Still unable to freeze the wild Pokemon, Khione was uncertain of what to do next. She was Confused as well, and cast around trying to attack the wild Pokemon. "Use Hex, darling!"

Unfortunately, poor Khione hurt herself, rather than managing to strike her foe. She wasn't looking great out there at this point, and Magnolia withdrew her, unable to watch her poor Pokemon struggle in this fight anymore. She attempted to flee from the wild Gourgeist, knowing that her newly-caught Snubbull would be too weak after capture to fight yet, and that her Feebas was still very weak as well.

Yet another Pokemon crossed paths with the walking pair; the cutest little blue mouse creature Magnolia had ever seen in person, an Azurill. It looked around warily, spotting the trainer and Snorunt, and tried to make a snap judgement of whether it was safe to be out anymore. While it stood watching, Khione looked up at her trainer with the question of 'do I fight it?' in her face.
"Hm.." Magnolia thought about it, but she wanted to train her current Pokemon up a bit more before catching anything else this weak, she thought. That Gourgeist had shaken her up a bit, too, but she refused to admit to that. "We can fight it, Khione, if you like, but I don't think I'll capture it." Khione hopped a little with excitement and planted herself in front of the wild Pokemon.
Instantly, the Azurill judged that yes, this Pokemon was a danger, and it started out the fight with a Water Sport, splashing water all over the place to dampen things up. Khione was unaffected, and used Powder Snow on the wild Azurill.

The wild Pokemon shivered from the impact of the cold snowy air, and fought back with a Water Gun attack, spitting a stream of water at Khione, who took the hit but seemed no worse for wear. "Khione, again, use Powder Snow." Khione obeyed, hitting the wild Pokemon with the stream of cold again.

The Azurill looked scared, but bravely attempted another Water Gun on Khione. Seeing that it did little damage, the Azurill quaked as Khione tried a Hex attack and nearly knocked out the wild Pokemon in that hit. The baby fled, hiding back in the grass until a less powerful Pokemon possibly came by later, it hoped.
"Excellent job, Khione." Magnolia patted the Pokemon on the top of its cone-shaped head with her psychic powers, earning a happy noise.

Magnolia's nose wrinkled up in distaste as she spotted a Grubbin chugging along through the grass, slowly inching forward bit by bit and occasionally chewing a grassy stalk. She wasn't a fan of most bug Pokemon, though she was inclined to like some of them, now and then. She caught Khione's attention and told her, through nods and hand movements, to keep moving quickly, lest the bug see them and want to interact, but Khione tipped her.. body, unsure of what her trainer meant.
In that amount of time, with Magnolia waving Khione furiously forward and Khione standing confused in front of her, both of them at a complete stop, the Grubbin noticed them and came inching slowly over towards them. Khione finally realized what her trainer meant, and turned to keep walking down the path, but bumped straight into the Grubbin as it finally reached them. The poor bug got bumped back a few inches, and looked mildly exasperated, then upset, then mad.
It started off the fight it decided to pick with Khione by using String Shot, which Khione responded to quickly with an Astonish.

The Grubbin didn't flinch, but did attack with Vice Grip, snapping at Khione and grabbing on to her, squeezing some health right out of her. She cried out and used Powder Snow, causing the Grubbin to let go as it combated the strong winter wind.
p_
The Grubbin was frozen solid after a few seconds of the cold wind blasting him. With that, Khione and Magnolia decided to move on, hoping to get far away before it thawed out. While they walked, Magnolia checked on her phone to find that her new egg had been delivered to her PC, and she plunked it into her party to hopefully hatch soon.

A small crowd of Munchlax was coming down the path towards Magnolia and Khione, making quite a bit of noise for such small Pokemon. The one in the lead seemed to be larger than the others, and a little one was lagging behind, giving the group a tallest to shortest look. Magnolia smiled at the approaching Pokemon, a rare event.
"Hello," she said warmly, "Where are you all going?" Khione was delighted to see friendly Pokemon, and she danced around one of them, regarding it with a huge grin. The Munchlax decided to dance back, twirling around with the Snorunt with an equally large smile.
The crowd of Munchlax seemed to regard the trainer well, as they surrounded her legs, all but the one dancing with Khione. They seemed to be asking for something with their little hands outstretched up at her, but she shook her head. "I'm sorry, I don't have any food with me." The Munchlax horde seemed disappointed, but not mad as they shuffled around Magnolia, and all but the one were gone before she could see where they went.
The lone Munchlax seemed to be happy dancing with Khione, and Magnolia took a Great Ball from her bag in her hand, offering it to the Pokemon. "Would you like to come along with us? We can get you food at the next town, once we make it there." The Munchlax regarded the ball, appearing to be lost in thought. Khione seemed to be waiting with bated breath, having quickly befriended the wild Munchlax and wanting her to stay.
