Gilbert had heard of these... toxels around the towns. However it was a pokemon he'd never encountered before let alone heard of. So of course the breeder had to go out and see what it was all about! Route 2 was still a very unfamiliar place to him so he proceeded with caution. Gilbert looked around until he could see them, the swarm was sticking close to each other. The little toxel tugging at each other even with a few toxtricity around seemingly protecting the weaker ones.
"Wow." they all looked amazing! A brand new pokemon that he knew nothing about! Gilbert needed to catch one, though he was still unsure if he wanted to go the fighting route with Birb who was in her pokeball or to try and befriend one of them. For now he got as close as he could, crouching to see if any of the Toxel would possibly get curious of him.
It wouldn't take long to find the Toxel thanks to Lórien who came back to Koray right away as soon as she saw something lurking in the bushes. "Good job~, now, how about we go and say hello, hmm~?" Koray encouraged even as Lórien looked a little uncertain to say the least of things. With some more prompting, the Yamask did finally agree and went to say hi to the Toxel. He looked a little curious, but not unfriendly. That was good. At least the Toxel wasn't one of those pokemon that attacked first and asked questions never.
"Hey there~," Koray greeted, smiling lightly as the Toxel gave an awkward wave, "You're such a cool looking guy, did you know that?" The Toxel seemed to be aware and puffed up with pride, even posing a little at which Koray laughed quite a bit. He seemed to be quite a character. "Do you want to come with us? I think we could have a lot of fun, don't you?" Even Lórien agreed, making a happy sound while Koray held out a Nest Ball to the Toxel. For a moment, the Toxel seemed to hesitate but pressed the ball anyway. Well then~. Now to see if the Toxel actually stayed in the ball.

As she searched, she started to hum softly to herself, a random little tune which was a mix of nothing and some old nursery rhymes and then some of the more well-known classical pieces tacked on. At times, it was kind of catchy, at others it was cringe-worthy. All the same, it caused a Toxel to peek his head out from behind a rock. He nibbled faintly on what was left of some of his lunch and then crawled out, peering carefully at this strange human.
In her detailed search, somehow Greer managed to entirely miss the baby that had made himself known until Rabbie let out a noise, staring at the wild Pokemon. She looked up at the Cherubi and then the direction he was looking and perked up. "Baby! Oooh, look at you! You are the cutest thing," she cooed and approached a little. "Would you pretty please join me and my buddies? Look, look, I even have another baby on the way!" She shifted, showing off the egg on her side. Then she looked hopeful and wide-eyed at the Toxel, hands held together in a begging pose in front of her. Rabbie shook his head a little and moved to get a Pokeball for the Toxel, offering it out upon his leaf.

Oh, she hoped she wasn't too late! Riley had heard about a Swarm of Toxel some time back, but kept getting distracted what with all the holidays, saying she'd do it tomorrow, this weekend, next week, until news that the swarm was starting to disperse came to her. Hopefully there were still a few stragglers here and there. "Keep your eyes and ears peeled, guys."
At her side were her trusty partner Eevee, Hunter, and her dear Shiny Sylveon, Chase. Both helped her look around. Riley almost wished someone would trim all this tall grass out on the route, but knew that meant the Pokemon just wouldn't hide there anymore versus being easier to spot, heh. So she and her Pokemon waded through it, eyes peeled for any signs of movement.

The egg obviously didn't respond to her when she spoke to it- but- something else did. From the rees of the route Adelaide heard a strange noise, and against her best judgment the girl ventured forward towards it, clutching the egg to her with equal parts love and fear for the soon to be baby- she didn't want to injure it at ll! She just hoped whatever was making the noise wasn't... too... dangerous.
Taking one hand off the egg she gently moved the branch to the side to reveal... a small, purple, Toxel?! Adelaide blined once, twice, thrive before letting out a squeak, the pokemon mirroring her and letting out one of her own. She wasn't in any position to battle right now- maybe.. maybe...
Adelaide moved and used her free hand to fish out poketreats from her pocket, before nudging them towards the Toxel- which they were distracted she then moved to bop their head lightly with a pokeball.

After a few minutes of searching, there was a rustling in the grass. Could it be? Riley moved closer at a powerwalk while Hunter let out a bright "Vee!" and hurried ahead. Sure enough, they stumbled right upon a Toxel! "Awesome!"
The Toxel looked up to Riley, a little startled, but not too urgent about trying to move. "Hey there~" she greeted the Pokemon. "Could I interest you in a spar with my partner?" she asked her. The Toxel looked between the Sylveon and the Eevee, then back to Riley curiously. "C'mere, come out of the grass," she coaxed. The Toxel hesitated, but ultimately followed Riley's request and moved out into a clearing. "Awesome. Hunter?"
"Vee!" she cried enthusiastically. She zoomed in with a Quick Attack, causing the Toxel to sputter in shock. What? Oh! Was 'battle' what 'spar' meant? They wanted to battle? Okay, fine! The Toxel first aimed to guilt Hunter by giving her a Tearful Look. It worked, and the Eevee hesitated a bit.
"Don't let her get to you, Hunt. Swift!" The Eevee nodded and shot out a ray of energy stars. The Toxel winced and tried to Belch... but seeing as she didn't have a berry, it came out as an anticlimactic little burp. Whoops. "Try a Bouncy Bubble!" Riley ordered. Hunter summoned the power in her flower crown and conjured an orb of water to fire at the Toxel. "That should be good," Riley decided, bringing out a PokeBall and tossing it at the Toxel.
Gilbert almost couldn't believe it, all the toxtricity and toxel here looked to be in perfect shape. He grinned, placing down his pack and trying to get a little closer. Though the older pokemon seemed to be watching him very carefully. Gilbert didn't know this route very well so if he wanted to escape from an angry hoard he wasn't sure where he'd be going. It was then that he noticed a rather lonely looking toxel in the corner. He went to look closer and could see that the toxel looked rather distressed. Maybe it lost its parents? On closer inspection too it was sporting some shiny colors! His joy shot up past his anxiety. Trying to get closer to the poor toxel.
"Hey there little one." Gilbert began, grabbing the pokemons attention as she looked over at him. The Toxel seemed a bit scared but with the other pokemon not paying her too much mind he knew it was his chance. "I won't hurt you don't worry. Where'd your parents go?" he asked her. The Toxel looked around, still a bit lost as Gilbert pulled out a small plushie from his pack that he had set down earlier. It was green looking much like a subsitute. The toxel noticed it raising her arms and grabbing at it as Gilbert set it down. Making the Toxel come forward and grab a hold of the plushie.
"There, how about I take care of you?" he pulled out a great ball from his pocket. While the gentle Toxel was cuddling with the plushie she allowed Gilbert to gently press the button on the pokeball against her as she was sucked inside. Gilbert watched the ball rock back and forth, only hoping that luck was upon him today. She looked so lonely and he could guess it was because she had been born a shiny. Well he'd appreciate her!
