As Senara stepped forward, Lizbeth’s features twitched. A challenge? It better not have been. Gabe was quick to scramble over to the edge of the bed, ready to put himself between Liz and Senara if need be. “Liz, this is Senara,” he spoke quickly. The Charmeleon stared at the woman in silence.
At the mention of her size, Gabe glanced back at Liz and then forward at Senara. “She didn’t used to be,” he started— only to receive a sideways look from Liz. Gabe smiled a little weirdly. “But she’s projected to be over ten foot tall by the time she reaches Charizard.” Of course that was only a projection then and not absolute, but still. “Possibly even bigger.”
As Baby Girl started to chitter, Liz’s head snapped over to her, and her gaze stared down at her. A low growl reverberated from her maw in turn. Behind them, Rep made a low noise in response but went ignored by Lizbeth. The two fire foxes murmured softly to themselves, and the Litleo sat up and looked a little confused as to why they weren’t all in bed yet.

Oh man, that was a whole lot of lizard to try very hard not to piss off. Senara swallowed the fear that welled up before Gabe practically leaped between the two of them, giving a much needed introduction before--wait, what did he say? "Ten feet tall??" Senara's jaw went slack for a second. That was even taller than Reptar! Tall as Harriet had been! And that was going to be the size of a newly evolved, still highly aggressive Charizard?! "...I don't...even think they make flying harnesses in that size. Hahah. Holy shit, Gabe."
What kind of hell-raiser are you raising.
Baby Girl shrugged her little shoulders in response to whatever Liz said in return, casting her diamond-like eyes over both Senara and Gabe before they returned to her, and she chattered back a response. Polochon snorted, picking up Sphorb with his paws and placing him atop the Snorlax's big (comparatively) belly. He wasn't getting involved in this. Senara looked to the side at her Pokemon and back up again.
A small, forced laugh escaped from Gabe. “Yeah, we’d have to get one custom probably,” he answered. “You’d think she was from the Charicific Valley in Johto or something heh…” He had his suspicions, but that was an awfully far transport if it was the case.
Lizbeth, meanwhile, growled back again at Baby Girl. A soft ‘Char’ came from her after, though as her eyes too flicked to Gabe and Senara again. As Senara caught her eye, Liz glared again. She didn’t trust her regardless of what the Sableye said. She wouldn’t trust any human around Gabe ever again at this rate.
Still, the fact that Gabe was kind of sort of petting her arm reassuringly did keep her from immediately throwing Senara up against a wall like she had another human semi-recently. He clearly didn’t want her to, and for all she was and all se wasn’t, Liz could exercise some restraint here and there.
The Litleo, meanwhile, finally bounded off Gabe’s bed and onto Senara’s before pawing her playfully and trying to get some pets in response. This human had a hand and it wasn’t being used to scritch scratch her ears? A crime! “Atch- Kitty….” Gabe started but dropped off. Kitty wasn’t aggressive in the least, and he knew that.
Senara dared to look at Gabe instead of the six foot something murder lizard as he made a reference to something she didn't know recognize off the top of her head. "Charific Valley? I'm not familiar." From the name alone she could venture a guess as to what it was and what lived there, though. A valley full of Charizards and their kin. Wow. That sounded like the sort of place Gabe would love to visit. Hopefully it was kept well-monitored, given the nature of the line...
A sound between teeth clicking and a mew came from Baby Girl, another untranslatable remark between her and Liz. Senara had told her they were friends now, and friends did not bite one another. Besides, if anyone had been mad about what the purple-haired human had done over that other, lesser human--asides from Liz--it was her trainer! So they had no reason to fight. Why would friends ever fight outside of training, anyway.
She was about to say something when a small fuzzy paw patted at her hand, and all of her attention was swiftly stolen by the shiny Litleo vying for her attention. Senara's eye went wide and round, practically glittering with excitement at the sight of his beautiful golden coat and fluffy white ears. So cute! "Bonjour, Hélionceau~" She lowered her hand to gently scratch at his cheeks to under his chin, "You are the shiniest kitty I've ever seen! Yes you are!~" Baby Girl clicked her teeth in Senara's ear in mild annoyance.
Senara snorted. "Tu n'es pas un chat, tu es un fantôme. Il y a une différence."
A small… giggle? escaped from Gabe. “I’ve only ever read about it, but apparently it’s a protected land full of Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard,” he answered. “Notably many of them are massive by Charizard standards, and they supposedly do battle with each other so frequently it’s not very safe for most visitors.” He was… way way way too happy about all of that. “I want to go some day.” As if that wasn’t obvious.
Liz squinted at Baby Girl and tilted her head to one side and then the other. A low noise, something akin to a growl but not quite, escaped from her. She didn’t consider them friends….. but… they weren’t doing battle right then and there, she supposed…. Her eyes flicked to Senara again and then to Gabe questioningly. Gabe’s gaze, though, was on Senara right then. Oh… That face she was making… was cute.
Kitty mewled at Senara leaning in to Senara’s hand happily. She liked this human! Very much! Even if she made funny sounds that she didn’t quite know! Paws raised, and she tried to climb right up into Senara’s arms right after, content. A small puff of air escaped from Gabe thereafter. “Careful, you’ll wake up in the morning and she’ll be sleeping on your face….” he warned with a cheesy smile all the same. It was hardly a threat to have such a soft, happy child resting on you.
After a moment, Liz sat back on Gabe’s bed and folded her arms. Mmmmm.

Senara snorted softly. "Why does that not surprise me? It sounds right up your alley."
Baby Girl seemed mildly pleased that Liz had listened to her, but was less pleased as the shiny little brat was climbing up into Senara's arms. She leaped deftly off her trainer's shoulder and landed on the ground with a faint hiss in the Litleo's direction. Brat. Getting all the attention because it was a shiny and cute and fuzzy. Hmph. She, too, was cute and fuzzy. Senara just always had a soft spot for shiny things. Baby Girl made her way over to Liz's feet to keep chittering at the very, very large lizard.
Senara was too distracted by fuzzy baby to pay too much attention to that. She giggled and happily let Kitty paw her way up into her arms, holding her upside-down like one may an infant rather than a cat. She was so tiny and light compared to what she knew she would evolve into. And so warm, too, but that was to be expected. "That's a risk I'm more than willing to take," Senara giggled, raising Kitty up to nuzzle her nose into her soft warm fur. What a precious little baby. "You're making a pretty good case for all these Fire types though! Even if, phew," she glanced toward the air conditioning unit on the wall, "We might wanna hit that a few times before I over-heat, heheh~"
At Liz's feet, Baby Girl lifted her arms up, letting out a small cackle.
Lizbeth made low tones back at Baby Girl, her head turning from one side to the other as she ‘spoke’. Gabe was at least aware of these transactions and was glad to see Liz wasn’t been as aggressive as she had been but— Uh. He wasn’t going to shift his entire focus to solely Senara and Kitty just yet.
Kitty, meanwhile, rested happily in Senara’s arms making soft trilling noises back at her. She liked this human! Very much! Her front paws moved a little bit to playfully bat Senara before she just outright snuggled her back as her face came down. A deep purr reverberated in her throat in response. Gabe snorted softly and smirked right after. “Better hot than cold,” he answered. His eye flicked over to the thermostat, though, and a shrug was given.
Liz stared down at Baby Girl as she got there. Hmmmmm. Well, she supposed. Standing up again off the bed, she bent down and raised up the Sableye to the top of her head. The motion immediately caught Gabe’s attention, and his head jerked sideways as a soft breath caught in his throat. “Liz???” But Liz wasn’t hurting the Sableye… just…. letting her rest on her head?

"Hah, better hot than cold, but better warm than heat-stroke." Senara, still with Kitty in her arms snug as a bug, strode around Gabe towards the wall with the thermostat and started clicking it much lower than it was already. With the amount of Fire types in the room--and how thick her nightclothes were--they barely needed heat at all despite the harsh cold outside. That was kinda funny. She still had to lower the hood, though, so she could breath a little easier. "There, much less likely to pass out from--"
Senara went dead still at the sight of Liz's enormous clawed hand reaching for her Baby Girl, but there wasn't a trace of fear in the Sableye's face. Her sharp grin only widened as she was picked up and placed right atop Liz's head. She was so tall! She did a little cheer and reached up for the ceiling. Senara could only stare for a moment, unnerved.
But nothing bad had happened. Whatever that was it wasn't...violent. Just...
...huh...
She couldn't help it. The tension dispersed and she let out a louder laugh than she had intended on, squeezing Kitty closer. "Wow, did I get traded out for the tallest in the room, or what? Petite fille, traître!" Baby Girl only clicked her teeth at Senara, still grinning.
A bemused look came to Liz’s face as Baby Girl cheered from atop her head. A low rumble from her throat was given in response. Yes, yes, this was easy for her now. Never mind that she had once been small enough to fit across Gabe’s shoulders herself and had taken pride in being tall as well. She was used to it now. As Gabe spoke her name, though, she looked sideways at him. “Char….?” What?
“Oh…. Nothing, just didn’t know what you were—“ Gabe cut off as Senara suddenly laughed loudly. Looking back at her, though, Gabe snorted. “Seems so…” Rep piped up with loud comment that had Liz’s head shifting over her shoulder in turn, and a loud growl escaped from her in turn. Shut up, you bigger lizard!
Gabe exhaled a little and found himself glancing at the night stand’s clock— “1 a.m. already?” he ask-stated. What? Hadn’t it just been eleven??? “Ugh….” Stretching and then rubbing his face, he looked back towards Senara again. “Better at least try to get some sleep…”

Baby Girl laughed a wicked, joyful little cackle atop her personal mountain. She wobbled a little as Liz looked back and forth between Gabe and Rep but otherwise kept her balance just fine. Senara kept giggling at the sight. She was just so, so relieved that they were getting along...was this getting along? It looked like it was getting along. Yay.
Gabe's exclamation of the time turned her joy into a look of surprise. "Wha--well, crap. Time flies I guess." Shit, and the truck got in at six?? That was hardly three hours to sleep, and after that flight...a pit sunk in her gut like a knot of ice. "...crap, that is...not a lot of time, is it. Here, Kitty, go back to Gabe," she set the Litleo back on the bed and moved towards her own, pausing to look at Liz and Baby Girl, "Allez, petite fille, allons dormir. Vous pouvez être grand le matin." Baby Girl hissed quietly, then chittered to Liz, presumably to ask for help getting down from off her head.
Senara pulled the blankets down from her bed onto to find Polochon was already fast asleep on his side. She snorted. Figures. Sphorb was also curled up and already half-out himself. She sat down next to them and glanced over at Gabe, momentarily wary.
He's not going to hurt me. I...know that. But will I still be able to sleep around him?
Time flies— time flies— Yeah it did. Gabe scowled a little. Was it even worth sleeping at that point? No, any amount of rest is better than nothing… Especially after that … flight. Shaking his head of thoughts, he immediately started petting Kitty who was very distressed at being set down so quickly when she was so comfortable before… and then more slowly and gingerly started to climb into bed resting in the space etched out for him by the Fire Pokemon. “Liz?”
Lizbeth had eased Baby Girl back down to the ground again and stretched a little after. She watched Senara for a moment before looking back towards Gabe. “Char…” came the answer as she sat back on the bed and then immediately stretched out over the sheets becoming Gabe’s secondary blanket.
A small “Ooof…” escaped from Gabe, but as Liz settled, he did as well. Reaching over, he flicked off the one light he had control over and lay still after. He should have felt warm, safe, easy now…. But the switch in his brain might as well have turned on there. Ah…. Great…

Once on the ground Baby Girl scurried over to the bed and up into Senara's lap, turned around several times, and then curled up into a tiny purple ball on her legs. Senara giggled softly and ran her fingers through the soft purple spectral fur. What a cutie. She reached over and clicked the light on her side then laid down, pulling the blankets over herself and her little ghost. The room wasn't as dark as she liked it to be, lit by the faint glows of the Charizard and Charmeleon tails, and the faint glint of Baby Girl's eyes as they reflected the fire light. But it wasn't that bad. She felt so heavy as soon as she was laying down properly. Her timer was set, though, right? On her phone? Yes. She'd set it like five different times. They'd be fine. Just fine...if they were awake enough.
Gabe would not remember falling asleep. The otherwise unbearable heat of being so close to so many Fire types was a comfort to Gabe like no other. Winter nights like that… reminded him of those first nights out in the wilderness with Liz. Alone, starving, and exhausted. Hard to believe they were fond memories now.
“Gabriel, don’t slouch, this photo is important….” Gabe leaned forward a little more and made eye contact with a far too tall man with dark black hair. The man frowned at him and then frowned sideways at another. “Michael, you stop that too. Quit squirming, stand up straight. I did not raise you in a barn.”
As frustrated as the man sounded, Gabe was snickering. He stepped out one pace and then another. “Gabriel, come back here and stand still—” Nope! He was free! A hand reached for him and couldn’t reach him! Out passed the camera man, out the door into a bright light.
Where was he? Somewhere warm and toasty like a— burning building. Oh…. That one…. He was in that burning building again grinning viciously now for having it all come to fruition. Finally, finally finally fi—
Something was beeping and there was a claw in his cheek. Gabe groaned. “Ugh….” Gabe opened one eye and then the other. Lizbeth was staring at him and growling low, irritated by the noise that was echoing in the hotel room. His other Pokemon were in various states of perturbed with Reptar not seeming to even wake up in this case. “Ugh…” Gabe sat up rubbing his face. Lizbeth finally sat back.
Senara was asleep before she really realized it, but that was a good thing. She felt so tired that when she closed her eyes and opened them again three hours had passed. It had felt like a blink. Fuck. She hadn't even dreamed, but sure enough, Baby Girl had wound up sprawled on her chest and Sphorb was squished up against her shoulder and it was almost four in the morning--mere seconds before her alarm was set to go off. She pulled her phone off the bedside table and flicked to dismiss it, then sat up, finding Gabe was already doing the same. Hah, good timing. But...was it really?
They don't look like they got a much better rest than I did. But we need to prep, we can't sleep any more, not unless...we...
She drew in a slow, even breath and pushed a floppy black Umbreon ear out of her face. "Hey. I don't know about you," she said softly into the unbroken silence, "But I don't feel awake enough to rob a bank, do you?" Senara forced a chuckle, and it sounded like exactly that. "We have another shot in two weeks. We fucked up the ride over."
I don't like to do things half-assed. That leads to screw ups, that leads to mistakes.
It was one thing to be sloppy at the ball but here? We mess up, we'll get arrested. Or...
"The bank isn't going anywhere, right? Or the bank box. Let's try again next time."
Grumbling a little, Gabe slapped the nightstand a couple of times before finally snagging the phone and turning off the alarm. Rolling over, he sat up over Lizbeth’s sprawled form and then collapsed right over her. She growled in response but didn’t move. Ugh…. His face turned slowly as he stared in the darkness towards Senara. Don’t feel awake enough to rob a bank… Yeah, yeah neither did he but…. We have another shot in two weeks— Wait. Wait— “But—“ Gabe sat upright now biting his lower lip.
The had fucked the ride over. It was partially if not totally his fault. Their room situation had been compromised, and everything had just…. not worked. But…. The risks were too high not to have full control over the situation. But… And he was tired which meant…. There was no way that he could… even try and access that power then… But… And he’d been hearing thoughts… But… Gabe found his eyes slowly turning forward only to meet Lizbeth’s concerned ones.
“….Ok…” Gabe sighed and immediately flopped back on the bed. “Hotel offers free breakfast at seven.”Arceus damn it…
He looked--well, sounded and vaguely looked, since the low glow of the Charizard and Charmeleon tails didn't help her see his face much better--like he wanted to argue her on her points, but didn't. Senara held her breath. She didn't want to wait either, but that was because she was already here and it was what they'd planned for. All the same, it was for the best if they weren't at the top of their game to wait until they were, and it wasn't like this was their only shot. They had another one in two weeks. It was a good thing. It wasn't great that they'd need to wait that long--and she didn't know what she was going to do with herself in that time--but it was something.
Gabe conceited, though, and laid back down audibly. She chuckled and fiddled with her phone to reset an alarm. At seven...okay, I'll set it for seven, not earlier. That's three hours more of sleep. "We'll still get it done," she reassured, though why she wasn't quite sure of herself, "And, hey, we've got two weeks to make sure our plan is perfect. Stake the place out. Count guards. Set up alibis. You know, heist things, like in the movies."
She giggled, still half-asleep, and put her phone back down and nestled once more into her mound of blankets and pillow-esque Pokemon (and one pointy girl), closed her eyes, and was out again before she even finished her next train of thought. It'll be okay...
Stake out the place, make alibies… the likes… Gabe snorted softly as he blinked slowly at the ceiling trying to process this information. It sounded like it made sense, but he really didn’t know why. Lizbeth gingerly laid back down on Gabe again snuggling up on his chest and breathing deeply. It was enough to lull Gabe back to sleep almost immediately.
The next three hours were a blink of the eyes. When the alarm went off again, all Gabe could do was groan back to consciousness. Really? He still felt dead tired, but the prospect of “free” food reminded him why he was actually conscious then. “Arceus there better be bacon….” he growled low as he forced himself to sit up and Liz to sit back.
The Vulpix and Ninetales that hadn’t even woken up for the alarm three hours prior actually stirred now and sat up. Kitty mewled pathetically wanting to sleep more, but she was being ambushed by friendly fox noses now. Gabe snorted before looking sideways over to Reptar, perhaps the only one of his Pokemon still asleep, and fished his ball off the nightstand to return him before he woke. That lowered the temperature a good half degree.

Senara almost slept through the alarm this time. Whoops. Her years of university should have made her better at not doing that. It wasn't until Sphorb in all his grace and wisdom rolled over her face to bark at the loud little rectangle that she properly woke up, groaning, and swatting at her phone until it stopped shrieking those happy little morning bells. Gabe was already grumbling and puttering about and the room was colder, so she assumed his herd of Pokemon had been returned. "Hit the heat before it get too cold in here," she spoke, half-awake, and sat up. She had to quite literally peel Baby Girl from her chest. "Je vais prendre une...I'm going to take a shower first..."
She slipped out of the bed, rubbing her eye, and grabbed clean clothes and a little white baggy of other things before heading towards the bathroom, "You can go on ahead if you want, monsieur le matin." Senara snickered at his face, slipped into the bathroom, and cranked the water to hotter than sensibly acceptable while she took out her soap, shampoo + conditioner, brush...toiletries. Some time would pass before she was done.
Baby Girl, not ready to wake up, hid herself back under the covers near Polochon's ever unmoved sleeping form. Sphorb was bouncing on the headrest, barking happily.
Gabe rubbed the side of his face slowly meeting Liz’s exhausted expression with his own. The least he could do was return her for now and hope she got more shut eye, so he fished her ball off the nightstand as well and held it forward. She frowned at it but given the option to rest for a little longer or be up right then, she took the prior. Disappearing in a beam of red light, she’d nap for a little longer in of herself.
That left Kitty and two fire foxes. Kitty was looking kind of distraught at being nosed and prodded so much, so he returned her too for now. The Vulpix and small Ninetales looked at him and immediately frowned. “There are plenty of other play things in here…” he muttered at them briefly before raising a hand to pet one then the other.
Yellow eyes flicked over to Senara thereafter. Ah she was up. Hit the— Oh, yeah he guessed. Grumbling, he got up and walked over to the thermostat to raise it up again. The foxes bounced off the bed and were at his heels all the way— or at least until they noticed the Spheal and immediately hopped onto Senara’s bed instead to try and prod this equally round creature with their noses.
Gabe half nodded half-grunted at her shower comment. “Ok.” Did he want to go out just yet and eat? Kind of but… actually didn’t this have a coffee maker here somewhere…. Opening a few drawers and cabinets under the TV, he found it. Maybe one cup before food. As he got that started and looked over, though, Gabe immediately snorted. Ignis had just tried to balance Sphorb on his nose only to be assisted by Ifrit. “What’re you two doing…”
Post by Senara Spargo on Dec 30, 2019 15:30:28 GMT
Sphorb didn't seem remotely bothered by the attention the Vulpix and Ninetails decided to lavish upon him. Instead he acted the perfect ball and let them bounce and balance him atop their noses to their hearts content! He was, after all, very spherical.
After probably taking off a layer of skin from the hot water Senara emerged, hair up in one of the hotel towels and a comfortable black turtleneck over her more form-fitting jeans. She'd meant to wear this for the heist, at least until they had something more appropriate to wear, but it would do for now. Was he already making coffee? "If you've got a second cup of that, I'll take back what I said about you wearing Amell's shirt." Her hands unwrapped the towel and placed it unceremoniously on the end of her bed. She picked up her hairbrush and moved to sit down again only to spot--
...circus act practice?
Senara burst into little giggles, holding her mouth with her hand. "Aww, comme c'est mignon! Regardez-vous trois!" Sphorb didn't move, lest he make the foxes lose their balance and drop him, but he barked happily in response. Baby Girl peeked her head out for just long enough to see their ridiculous poses before burrowing back into the bed.
