Unlike most Pyroar, Aslan doesn't need to utilize stealth when hunting wild Pokémon; he is fast enough to catch almost any prey. He and Josh share several personality traits, including their tendency to act first and think later. In combat, he favors attacks that utilize his speed, only using his flame attacks against foes he cannot reach with a blistering fast charge. When outside battle, Aslan loves to make his presence known, trying to impress others with his roar. Aslan, unlike the rest of Josh's Pokémon, hasn't undergone a personality shift after evolving. Since then, he has considered himself to be more of Josh's personal bodyguard than racing material. For sentimental reasons, Josh still wishes to train Nitro as a racer, a point the two can never seem to agree on. He is loyal and fearless to the point of folly, and Josh is worried that could lead to him becoming seriously injured. As a racing Pokémon, Nitro can power through many course hazards with ease, and can hold his otherwise meager top speed for a very long time. As such, she avoids battles if at all possible.
