...Finding a way to... track them, to avoid them... Track them... to avoid them... oh! Ellie was right, that would be smart, that way she didn't have to see Gabe, not that she didn't wan- she didn't wanna see him leave, but anyway! Tracking... what was modern tracking- wait, wasn't that like... kinda... stalkerish? There was always chuubook, but she didn't have either of them, of course she didn't.
...Sparkchat. Sparkchat. Sparkmaps. The maps feature- it was handy when planning events with her friends, it was handy to know if she could go over to their house, or where the coolest parties were! "L-Like... sparkmaps? On, like, sparkchat, with the emojis and the map??" Her voice was uncertain, if they were going to go the sparkmaps route thy first needed them as friends on sparkchat, "Wouldn't... it be classified as, uh, stalking?! Like- not that I don't wanna k-know where they are... so I can avoid them- of course- b-but..." A heaved breath. "...Do... do we h-have any mutuals with them- wait you wouldn't know- but- I... as far as i'm aware Gabe's by himself- and Senara's from... u-uh... Kalos..." Eyes flicked to Elise then, "...and...Gabe lives in Bass...s-still..."
“Yeah??? Maybe like! That!” Elise perked up briefly as Ari took to her idea. She immediately faltered, though, as Ari brought up the possibility of stalking. “Well…. But….” She frowned a little and ruffled her hair as she tried to think over some way to just…. Well. Uh…. “Hmmmm that’s… a lot harder than I thought it was….” she mumbled more to herself than to Ari right then.
“Uh… what about our old classmates???” Elise perked up a little and shifted to grab her phone. Opening the app and then scrolling a few contants, she stopped and stared at a new pic of Tony and then shook her head to clear it. “I’ve still got a lot! Maybe there’s like one or two….” But as she was scrolling, she’d soon enough realize that Gabe had cut those ties long ago. It was almost as though he’d never been at their high school from the looks of it. A slow sigh escaped from Elise. “Mmmmaybe there’s another way…” she mumbled softly.
Arietta just fiddled as Elise went through her phone, drawing her knees to her chest and wrapping her arms around it in an attempt to comfort herself, the girl was still shaking despite her crying having reprieved slightly. "...could...visit his apartment..." A head shake, as soon as the idea came up she squashed it. "U-Uhm... or... if we stay in a group, o-or together, if... if a confontation does occur they can't start anything- and- and you girls can distract me and- I-"
Didn't have to face Gabe again, didn't have to have him yell at her, or scream at her, or have his pokemon almost kill her. She didn't have to face his psycho girlfriend who switched in the click of a button, didn't have to face the small part of her that longed to just be fifteen again, the part of the back of her mind that echoed reasons why he had still loved her despite everything without her wanting them to, little devlish whispers urging her forwards when all she wanted was to go back.
Tears pricked at her eyes again and she groaned, fuck this. "...gabe's...w-work is... travelling, so... going...between routes isn't safe."
Feeling slightly defeated, Elise leaned sideways against Ari again. “Yeah… so long as you’re with us then…. Then it should be ok, right?” she mumbled unassuredly. “I can like… make sure he doesn’t come near or something… Maybe even have Tony around if it’s like… like a super big problem.” As Ari spoke, though, Elise fidgeted a little. “W-what does he do again?” she asked realizing she actually had no idea just what he did if anything.
Arietta just fiddled as Elise went through her phone, drawing her knees to her chest and wrapping her arms around them. "...I... just don't w-wanna be alone... for a while..." Is was said almost under her breath, if Arietta had it her way she'd never be alone, the idea of loneliness haunted her, of being without somebody there. It was both that and the irrational fear ghosting at her, the fear that Gabe could come back, that his Charmeleon would go at her, that her exes were after her- things that she hadn't been afraid of before September.
As Elise questioned her once more the girl shifted to rest her face on her knees, sniffling pathetically. "...S-Something to do with going around... I d-don't remember..." She trailed off by squishing her cheek against her knee, mumbling, "B-But, i'd... appreciate you girls being there- o-or- even Tony, I guess... Just until I figure out how to handle this"
Shifting the way she was seated, Elise hugged around Arietta again. “We’ve got you!” she spoke forcefully trying her darndest to be encouraging. “There’s a…. a bunch of us! I’m here now, and the girls’ll be here soon, and Tony too and ….” Elise took in a slow breath. “We can make sure thre’s always someone with you…ok?” The last part was much quieter than the first. Elise didn’t actually know how helpful it was— if at all— but she wanted… she wanted… I never want to see her cry like that again…. Yeah, that was what she wanted. Snuggling Arietta some, she tried to think of something else to say. Instead, what came falling out of her mouth was an awkward “Was that everything?” Because who knew what else there was just under it all…
Arietta just mutely nodded as she was brought into Ellie's arms again, yeah... the girls'd be there for her. And they'd all be here soon, so... so she would have to look like she hasn't been crying so they can rehurse, and stuff, yeah! A soft, "...uhm...o-okay..." left her. And that was supposed to be it, she was supposed to wallow in self pity in her best friends arms and everything was magically supposed to be okay-
And then Ellie asked her another question. Arietta found herself sink, yeah, yeah there was... a bit more. "...N-No..." The girl was limp again Ellie, basically putty in her arms, "....After... r-right after uh- I got- by... Liz- I... Koray..."
“O-oh….” Elise frowned as Arietta explaind that there was still a little more to go. However what came after had… had her brows furrowing together. “Koray?” she asked. There wasn’t enough information there to really… tell her anything aside from the fact that he was involved but… but??? "What did he do?" Because clearly it was time to start accusing more people of things.
Arietta just sniffled once more, he hadn't done anything. Koray was gret. "...n-nothing like... like... w-what you're thinking..." of course, she couldn't tell Elise everything because in her eyes Koray was still... an evil ex. She bit down on the skin of her cheek, arceus save her. Koray. Koray....
"...I... texted him. After the ferry b-but he could tell something was up, and... and I asked if we could m-meet up..." She'd began picking at the hem of her tracksuit with a hand that wasn't clinging to Elise, voice soft. "...a-and... he met up with me before b-bass but I.. uhm... b-broke down before.... bass... a-and- and he was there- and he... he talked- and- it had been... a-after another PR metting- and-" She was bouncing between things now, unable to keep her mind on one thing when a thousand things at once were hitting her, asking to be heard. "h-he... he knows basically everything- a-and he's so warm and s-safe- and- and he cares?"
Eyes flicked up to Elise's, uncertain, confused, and wide. "...Ellie..... E-Ellie.... I.... I don't think... I don't think i've... i've been able to... m-move on from him yet- I don't think I can- I..." Her hand griped Elise a little tighter and she very, very quickly flicked the subject over, "B-But! But we went back to my apartment! A-And, we... he- h-he sung and chose b-between songs for my mini concert b-because I didn't- and- and- everything was fine- it- was fine- and- i'm..." She very, very quickly bursts into what has to be her millionth set of tears.
Elise frowned. She texted Koray before she texted…. Anyone else…. Her. One of the girls. Anyone else aside from one of her evil exes. She texted…. Koray before…. Before… A wealth of emotions was threatening to rush back upon her, and Elise immediately felt her eyes prick. He basically knows everything…. Everything from… everything, everything? Everything, everything. Warm and safe and cares. As an evil ex…..
As Ari’s eyes met hers, Elise found herself glancing away. She forced herself to keep listening but suddenly Ari was crying again. Elise flinched. What, wait, what? What had she missed? “Ari???” she squeaked. “Ari what’s…. what’s….” She couldn’t ask what was wrong, not in pure faith then, because everything seemed wrong.
Arietta almost instinctively moved up to push her hands to her eyes, whimpers leaving her mouth that she couldn't hold back. This was a mess, she was a mess. Her hair was a mess, tangled from excessive rubbing, her eyes were red, upset and puffy, her makeup was all over the fucking place, she couldn't stop to pinpoint her emotions for the life of her and she hasn't even properly had the chance to dwell on anything. "N-Nothing is fine???" it came out between a stuttered sob and she found herself attempting to get up once more, up, to move, because moving helps, because she had no energy and she needed energy and she needed to breathe?
"H-He doesn't have the right t-to just- to just- walk back into my fucking life- Gabe- Koray- nobody- should have the right- fuck Shea and Soph shouldn't- i-i've worked- i've tried- so hard- i've- i've done- I.. and- and- being friends- i'm- i'm good with that- I can do that- comforting- they're- but- but somehow- and-" She was going on a tangent, literally just going off. She found herself moving to the window, eyes watering, just... staring out of it and shaking. "....I made my choice- I- I ensured that... t-that everything would be fine- t-that I could live life n-not worrying about them- but nooo- nooo- here they are- h-hot, n-nice- stupid- idiotic- a-and i'm just here- i'm just here-"
She moved to tug on her hair, whirling to face Elise, "I hate them??? N-No- No... not- I... I d-did- but- but now I don't- and- I should- and- and- I shouldn't, should I? B-Because- even the reason I hate... is..." At this point, Arietta seemed to have lost what she was talking about and just pushed a hand to her mouth, pushing her lips into the sleeve to muffle herself. She couldn't voice anymore. This was Eliie. This wasn't a blog post where she had to lie constantly, but this was Ellie. Eliie, one of her best friends who shouldn't have to see her like this- Ellie. Ellie. "...Ellie..." She brought her sleeve away and sniffled once more, "....S-Sorry- i-i'm... i'm tired..."
Elise’s eyes pricked again and this time blurred with tears. Ari sounded so hurt…. so upset…. So…. so…. Elise wanted to hold onto her, to keep her tight in place, but Ari moved before Elise could process it. And suddenly she was falling over and quickly scrambling to sit up again. Her eyes flashed one way and then the next following after Ari as she walked. Ari was speaking, but Elise was having trouble keeping up.
Her features only fell some as she just watched her friend go through so much…. distress. Just here… Just here? Just here being herself? Elise had to guess because Ari wasn’t making any kind of sense. The next series of statements, however, were much clearer. Much much much clearer. Oh….
By the time Ari had started speaking again, Elise had slowly shifted off the bed and closed the distance between them again. Hugging around her friend again, Elise took in a breath, unsure of where to begin, unsure of where to end. “You don’t owe them anything,” she blurted out instead. “It doesn’t matter if you hate them or not. You don’t owe them anything!” She hugged Ari a little tighter after. “And I’ll support you! No matter what!” because…. Because what else could she do? What else could she say? She wasn’t good at this, at any of this, but she had to try. She just… had to try.
As Elise spoke Arietta's tearful gaze latched on to her, as if begging for a semblance of understanding- anything at all. She doesn't... owe them anything? It wasn't about oweing them- or- maybe she did, because... of the blog- but- she doesn't hate them, she doesn't understand- what does Ellie mean?! It just confuses her more. As soon as Elise moves to hug her Arietta's wrapping her arms tightly around her friend, fingers clutching, eyes watering. "...I k-know I don't- this issue is- w-when- when they come back into your life you r-realise... w-why you felt things- and- a-and- they're back, Elise."
The look in Ari’s eyes had Elise’s welling. She didn’t know what to do, what to say, how to help! The issue was when these loose ends ended up coming back up out of the woodwork… and …and… Elise… Elise could not relate, not at all. She couldn’t imagine the confusion or the stress. She couldn’t imagine the heartache. She couldn’t even imagine Tony breaking up with her right then. She was at a loss. But then a thought came to her and had her tensing some. “….Do…. you want them back in your life?” she squeaked suddenly. “That’s not good! That’s really not good!”
At Elise's loud squeak Arietta found herself reeling back slightly from the embrace, pushing her lips apart and then together as if to form words, finding none instead. Soft sniffles was the only music she could hear. "I-It's not that..." it... wasn't that, right? No, no maybe it was. A little bit- she'd... she'd even admitted to Koray she regretted leaving him- but not like, she didn't wanna- but- she- Arceus she couldn't even wrangle in her own thoughts! "...Ellie-" oh she couldn't even attempt to word it. A fist moved to furiously scrub at her eye then and she forced air into her lungs.
"K-Korays... he didn't do anything... really bad- so- s-so it's... i-it's not bad with him! A-And, and he's a good friend- a-and- I-" She was defending everything now, Arietta was getting defensive rather than answering Elise's question. "M-Maybe I was rash in b-breaking up with him- or- I mean- I d-don't wanna get back with him, of course n-not that would be bad! Really bad! It's just, being around m-my exes, who- obviously I really l-loved- like- it's resurfacing things that i've spent ages t-trying not to feel for them- and- I d-don't know how to deal with it- a-and..."
She went quiet then, the only sound leaving her being soft sobs and sniffles, and the rough ruffling of fabric as she pushed her sleeve against her nose to stop it from running too and wipe away snot. "...M-My heart hurts. I j-just wanna find a nice partner a-and be in love again- p-proper love, not- not this bullshit cycle- I- I don't wanna be hurt again- n-not by Gabe, or Koray- or- or anybody- but- when they act- act so..." She was mumbling now, Koray didn't hurt her, she hurt him but she was scared- she didn't want to get pregnant, and- and he always- and then Gabe... Gabe broke her heart abandoned her and- and- "...Nice? I...Forget... t-these things... a-and just- follow what my emotions t-tell me- you know me, Ellie!"
Ari was saying things that Elise… doubted. The latter’s lips pressed together into a fine line. She reached a hand up and wiped her eyes a couple of times as she listened in silence now. You still love them…. Or liked the feelings associated with them enough to…. to keep Koray around?
I don’t get it… Of course she didn’t. Of course, Elise couldn’t. She’d only ever really fallen in love with Tony, and that was like… a fairy tale? A perfect exciting happily ever after??? It was in that moment Elise realized she couldn’t even imagine dating again after any kind of heartbreak. She just…. wow she could not. It just…. sounds terrible…
It was only after an extended silence that Elise realized she had been expected to say something. Her lips parted and then just…. “I don’t know what to say….” escaped from her instead.
Elise's words had Arietta deflating slightly and she pushed her sleeve further into her face. Of course Ellie didn't, Ellie, bless her heart, hadn't gone through a breakup. A bad one. Arceus, Arietta wouldn't know what to say in her situation either. Arietta moved to yank some nearby blankets, not caring about ruining the neatly made bed as she draped them over herself and drew them closer, moving once more back to the bed. "I-It's okay... That's... t-that's about it... uhm..." there's a pause, "We're... down a few PR team staff, I d-don't think they like me very well- uhm..." Random topics, just... just... it was obvious at the very least this was making Elise emotional, Arietta had said what was needed to be said, so now can't she just- stop?
She sniffled, and tried her best, heartstopping smile... which was just a small twitch up of her lips. "...I... h-have to... tell the other girls right- I... I d-don't wanna be balling my eyes out- uhm- and if I have to tell everything again..." What... was the best way to tell them- arceus knew Elise would if Arietta didnt try.
Elise deflated some. She wished she knew what to say, but words failed her. She leaned against Arietta as she sat down next to her again draped in blankets and listened as her friend went on talking about different things now. “Callie’s gonna have to deal with them mostly now..... I think….” she mentioned reminding them both that Callie was technically their manager after all. But… from the sounds of it Ari was going around that anyways with all of this. Because there’s so much….
As Ari went on, though, Elise frowned. Yeah, she probably needed to tell the others. Goodness graces. Elise might have offered to help, but to be perfectly honest, she could barely remember all the details herself now. “M-maybe try writing it down? Like…. Blog style but like… just for us?” she asked. That would give them all a chance to read and then ask questions???
A pout rested on her lips as Callie was mentioned, right... right yeah she was gonna have to deal with everything as a manager, and all at once guilt hit her like a brick being thrown into a crowd from the rooftops, assaulting her senses. The blanket was pulled closer around herself as an act of comfort, the girl blinking away and stray tears that might decide to make their presence known.
Elise spoke again, an idea leaving her and Ara's eyes widened. "...w-what about I text the group chat?!" She launched sideways, blanket falling as she clasped her phone, abandoned on the other side of the bed and held it up, "I could get everything down and stuff and I w-wouldn't need to tell t-them in person!"
Without waiting, she was texting. Fingers dancing on the keyboard as she spoke. "U-Uhm... I.. sorry- Ellie..." She spoke absently, not looking up, "Uh- do they h-have... channel 6 on the TV in here? I know they have say yes t-to the dress runruns on a-all the time, I... uh... m-might... be a while and I... uh- let's just... t-take a breather, yeah?"
“Y-yeah!” Elise squeaked right as Arietta dove for her phone. “And… and then that way it’s… easier to think about?” she ask-stated back. At least having a clear concise timeline would help on reflection later?? Ari was already texting, though, and Elise found herself shifting to check her own phone for whatever message inevitably came.
The apology briefly caught Elise off guard until Ari explained why. “Oh uh…. ok yeah…” she shifted around to the night stand and grabbed a remote before turning on the TV. It took a moment to figure out which way the channels were organized, but after that, she sure enough found Say Yes to the Dress. “Oh it’s the season finale… er… last season’s finale,” she recognized as she sat down next to Ari again. Slowly focusing on that, she cooled again.
