Set in the original region of Arciel, Legends Rising is a route-inspired, but not strictly route-based, Pokemon roleplay. Pick a faction, pick a class, and strike out into the wild to take on the League, master Contest coordination, research the mysteries of Pokemon and Arciel, and much, much more. Will you be a classic trainer? A criminal? A farmer? Choose your destiny on Legends Rising.
To participate in the Swarm, first post in this thread looking for a Pokemon. A mod will tag you and reply with stats for one Pokemon you find, including color and possibly even evolution depending on the species. Reply again encountering and trying to capture the Pokemon. Once you succeed, do not post in the thread again.
You may only find one per character, no rerolls. This is to prevent spamming to find special Pokemon. If for any IC reason you need to encounter another, use the same stats originally rolled and pretend it's a different individual.
Pokemon in Swarms have a 20% chance of being a special coloration!
Pokemon in swarms have a +20% capture rate with any ball, and will never flee.
THIS swarm closes at 11:59pm on MARCH 15. After that, no new encounters will be spawned. However, anyone who has an ongoing encounter that isn't yet finished has until 11:59pm on March 31 to finish trying to catch their encounter. After that, the thread will be locked and archived.

What the hell is an Eiscue?
Eliza wasn't sure what to think of the strange little Pokemon that appeared on her screen when she'd Chuugled it, and yet at the same time she wasn't sure what else she could have expected. It was exactly what it sounded like: an ice-cube. Only it had some kind of bird body and a stupid little face and I guess here I am trying to catch the little blight-on-good-taste. Go me. She hadn't really meant to come through here for the Pokemon itself. She wanted to get to Cedar for stuff.
Stuff-stuff.
But they just happened to be around here, so she figured "why not" and had a pokeball all ready to go as she waltzed her way down the cloudy route. On her back, seated comfortably in the hood of her baggy winter coat, Mimichu the Mimikyu was playing something loud and obnoxious on her Tenninedo Swap. It was something she'd spent twenty-something hours in the character creator for and only just started playing the game itself. Eliza wasn't sure what the appeal was to make a character so intensely but, hey, when one was a Pokemon who's whole gimmick was copying the appearance of another, more popular Pokemon, she could see where Mimichu would want to make her game persona as cute as the game allowed it to be. It just made sense. Now if only she didn't have the sound maxed out, that might make finding an Eiscue easier.
And make the migraine it was giving Eliza a bit more palpable.
"Oi, turn down the volume or I'm chucking it into the stream," Eliza pushed into her Pokemon's head. Mimichu's little wooden hammer tonk'd on the back of her skull in response, but, thankfully, the volume began to lower to a sensible level.
Faolan had heard people speaking about an Eiscue swarm as she was passing through the adjacent city, and while she didn't exactly need an ice type at this particular moment, it was still a good idea for the future. In Galar they'd only spawned in specific areas, areas away from her hometown of Circhester, so she hadn't had much reason to encounter them. Knowing she could get there well enough on her own was a good enough incentive, nevermind the fact that as a Galarian she was pretty much meant to catch one. Who knew when they would swarm again, after all?
So now here she was, moving casually through Route 2, Fembra looking this way and that a little warily as her trainer went over the known information on Eiscue. Colors, general sizes, things like that. Since Eiscue was a fire type she'd only brought her fire pokemon, a Charmander and a currently napping Torchic. She prooobably didn't need anything else unless she actually got swarmed, but from what she'd heard the chances of that happening were very slim.

The sun overhead had become completely hidden by clouds, dyeing everything a gloomy sort of grey, and Eliza started to hum gently as they kept walking. There was no way that finding one of these things would be hard. They were a four-foot-tall walking ice cube. All the same it was just a very quiet morning. Maybe she should have come out when it was snowing. That might have been...
Ah, wait. She paused and glanced around. She could hear something.
Somebody...complaining...?
<....n't....ee.......cl....n...>
Hm. Eliza couldn't tell the direction of the thoughts, but she knew something was close enough to try to find it. Carefully she peeked over a few snow mounds around the path, and a couple trees. Nothing yet, but the thoughts continued.
<.....man......s......gu.....ing...>
Finally peering over a particularly thick pine tree, she spotted none other than the ridiculous looking bird Pokemon, with its tell-tale black feathers, big orange feet, and small round hea--wait. Small round head? Eliza frowned and took her phone out to quickly look up more on that. When Eiscue were hurt, the ice around their heads had a tendency to break open, revealing their actual face that they hid inside. It didn't do very much, but they needed to perform a specific attack in order to build the ice back up. Maybe it was too low a level to learn it? And what on earth was it doing? Eliza looked closer. Around the Eiscue were a few pieces of...trash? Some bags, a discarded bottle...huh. What was it doing?
<Humans are disgusting.>
Ah, that thought was loud and clear. Eliza blinked. Hmm. She'd bet what little pocket money she had that a person had come through here and tossed that trash out, hitting the Eiscue in the process. It must have broken its little ice head.
How cruel.
"Is that what you really feel?" The Eiscue jumped and turned to look at her, as she peered out from behind the tree. Its worried little face was furrowed with confusion, or maybe even anger, but that only served to make it...cuter. Was it cute? Maybe in an ugly way. Eliza smiled--in that the corners of her mouth turned just a little upwards--and she pointed at the trash. "That's really awful of them. I can bring it back with me to the city to properly dispose of it, if you'd like."
The Eiscue looked her over. It didn't seem to know what to make of her, and it hadn't thought anything else loud enough for her to hear. Maybe it was guarded.
"Mimi," she thought to her Mimikyu only, "Prepare to use Grass Hammer."
Mimichu hit the little plus button on her gaming device to pause the game, and slid it into her trainer's backpack before jumping down to the snow. She didn't make a single noise as she scooted around the far side of the tree. Eliza kept her smile in place. "You look very sad like that. Do you need a blizzard to come so your ice can grow back? Until then, you're quite weak aren't you. That's sad. Why don't you come with me and I can keep you safe until a storm, then we can grow your ice face back, and you'll be alright again? How does that sound?"
The Eiscue looked her up, looked her down, and a very clear thought hit her.
<No. Humans are disgusting. Never.>
Eliza's lips returned to a thin line. This time, she spoke aloud: "Too bad. Mimi?"
TONK.
From above the Eiscue's head the wooden mallet of the Mimikyu suddenly swung down on top of it, smashing the poor bird right in the forehead. It might not have been weak to Grass-type moves, but that move was strong. It knocked the poor bird to the side and sent it reeling. Alas, the recoil left Mimichu with quite a bit of pain as well, leaving her black, tendril-like arms shaking. Eliza was quick to react and tossed out the pokeball at the Eiscue before it could come to its senses. It better work--she didn't have a second chance at this today...
Sure enough, before she had travelled very far down the path she heard the telltale cry of the pokemon she was looking for. Glancing over, Faolan saw the ridiculous-looking Eiscue peeking out at them from behind a bush, who upon realizing that it had been noticed ducked its head back down with a squeak. That got her smiling, just a little, and she looked down to Fembra beside her who was staring at where the creature had been in confusion.
"It's nothing we haven't seen before, Fembra; you've got this." That seemed to perk the fire-type up, and she made her way towards the bush with more confidence than she'd had before. The Eiscue poked its head out again at Fembra's approach, and when the Charmander stood just a few feet away she began to talk to it, pointing a finger at it in an attempt to, presumably, get it to leave the bushes. But the creature would not have it and, after squeaking out again, turned tail and began to flee as fast as it could waddle which, actually, wasn't all that much.
"Thaw it out with an Ember attack," Faolan commanded swiftly. Fembra quickly scampered after it, waddling in mimicry as though that would help her go faster, and once she'd reached within range she blew out a steady charge of flames after the Eiscue - who tripped in fright and landed flat on its face with a shattering sound, sending chunks of ice scattering everywhere. Horrified, the Charmander stopped and looked to Faolan with her mouth hanging open in shock in what she'd done - but her attention was drawn back to the now sad-faced Eiscue who was trembling in shame and embarrassment and struggling to get to its feet.
This actually tugged at Faolan heartstrings a little and she held off on attacking it further, waiting until the bird got fully upright before lobbing a pokeball at its back.
Having reached the next Route, she was both surprised, and slightly disappointed to see that Route two was quite the same as Route one. She frowned, her hand finding it's way to the shoulder of the large Vaporeon that walked beside her. The girl had decided it would likely be best to keep one of her Pokemon with her. Both for company, and for protection. She'd been told as she was leaving that there was a Pokemon swarm in the area and that she should be careful.
Just what exactly was a swarm though? Sonia was curious which is why she had even come here to begin with. It was a chance to experience something she hadn't experienced before, and she was still learning about Pokemon. She was definitely curious as to what an Eiscue was, which is why she was looking it up as Mana guided her about in their search.
Sonia tilted her head as she stared at her phone, right hand firmly wrapped around her device and thumb manipulating the screen while her left remained on Mana. This was an interesting little Pokemon, that's for sure. But now that she knew what the Pokemon looked like she could keep an eye out. Which as expected, happened a lot quicker thanks to how many of them wre in the area. As the electronic was slid into her pocket, she felt the Vaporeon's shoulder tense, a low hiss coming from her maw as he frills began to flare threateningly.
Blue eyes lifted from the process of pocketing the phone I favor of seeing just what was riling up Mana. Admittedly the Vaporeon was quite easy to rouse, typically hissing at the first glance of any human or Pokemon. So Sonia wasn't surprised to see the cause of it being one of the many Eiscue. Only, this wasn't the expected colors of black and white. Eyebrows lifted in surprise as the penguin Pokemon stared quite calmly towards the aggressive Vaporeon. Was this one of those Arciel only colors she'd heard vaguely about? It must be since it was reddish pink and yellow instead. And if her knowledge was right, this was an ice type. And while water types resisted ice attacks, ice types didn't resist water.
Meaning she had the advantage with Mana right?
"I hope you don't mind, but I'd like to battle you if you're partial to it." Sonia smiled, growing more confident in herself now that she had a few battles under her belt.
The wild Pokemon blinked, giving a slow nod of it's head.
So Sonia lifted her hand from the Vaporeon's shoulder, a slight smile coming to her face as she pointed. "Mana, Water Gun!". Inhaling deeply, the Vaporeon let out a fierce torment of water was shot at the ice type.
Perhaps it wasn't expecting an attack so quickly, but the blast of water hit the Eiscue and sent it stumbling backwards. After a quick recovery period it too inhaled deeply before it was shooting out snow. Sonia covered her face to protect herself, thankful that she didn't need to see as she could put her trust in Mana. And she had the advantage of forethought. "Tail whip, after that a tackle." Sonia directed, already brushing the powder snow from her jacket.
Mana also quickly shook it off and charged forward to smack the Eiscue's body with her tail. Another stagger before the wild Pokemon was breathing out mist instead. Sonia wasn't totally sure what that attack was, but Mana still had tackle in the mental queue. So that attack came next, which surprisingly shattered the gold cube of ice that was the Pokemon's face. Sonia gasped, having read it but still not expecting it to happen quite like that. And now Mana was getting tackled in turn, the Eiscue actually managing to make the huge Vaporeon stagger backwards as she shook off the hit.
Sonia gave Mana the chance to finish shaking herself off before calling for another attack. "Water Gun." Sonia directed again. Both Pokemon inhaled at the same time, and snow met water. However, there was definitely more force behind the water, cutting through the ice attack only to hit the red penguin instead. Mana charged forward, throwing her weight behind another tackle. Sonia watched the Pokemon stagger again, mouth open slightly as if to pant.
It was I that moment of weakness that she threw the pokeball.
Eiscue. Now that was a pokemon Marley hadn't heard of in a long time. An ice pokemon from his native land of Galar, guess it made perfect sense for the little pokemon to be around this area. The frozen, chilling strip of water between Bass and Plum. Sitting atop of Malony, Marley looked around, his eyes scanning for any sign of the penguin pokemon. There had even been reports of different coloured ones around the place. He remembered finding a different coloured Snom in the past. Maybe he'd find another one around here somewhere.
As Marley and Melony floated over the water, looking out for any sight of the penguin pokemon, the one eyed Galarian couldn't help but notice something bobbing in the water. Something...orange? That was odd. As they came close, Marley reached out, trying to grab whatever it was to pull it out.
Much to his surprise, it was an Eiscue. With an orange, icey head and a red body. The penguin floundered in Marley grasp as he looked at the pokemon curiously. He...certainly hadn't expected that. "Well...ain't this an interestin' find." He moved to place the penguin down next to him on Melony. The ice pokemon looked around, taking in the lapras and her trainer curiously.
