"Yeah?" Watching the younger man as he started to right himself, Lionel couldn't help but wonder if he shouldn't be saving his breath for talking to a nurse, or something. Still, if he felt introductions were particularly necessary, then sure. Why not. Though, he couldn't help but wonder if he was disoriented, given the fact that he'd already given his name prior, and was doing it... again.
Still, he doesn't say anything about it, instead glancing out behind them toward the looming city of Bass. Peering up at all of it's lights and tall buildings, the man laughs a little and says, "No, actually. I just left. I'm making way for Cedar now. I don't have any plans to take on any of the gym challenges right now, so I'm just focusing on training my Pokemon up." Lionel pats Growlithe atop the head, as the area around them seems to burst at the seams with wildlife. A Stantler and Misdreavus cross paths, staring at each other before going their separate ways, and while Samson seems excited - Lionel is a bit worn out, he thinks.
"Alright, Samson. We're not gonna battle right now, okay?" Ruffling his tuft of fur a bit, Lionel looks to Josh, and can't help but to ask after him. "Are you going to be alright?"

"I should be okay to at least make it to the city," Josh answered, still half-groaning. "Just need a place to rest and relax for a bit. Take a couple days off and what not. Thanks again - see you around." He weakly waved good-bye to Lionel before cresting the hill. Far down, by the river, Aslan, Nitro, Blitz, and Illumina had ambushed the school of Gorebyss, who had immediately turned their attention away from Josh and Twilight.
Blitz and Illumina, working together, were able to fry the alpha of the school to a crisp with electric attacks. Aslan used Nitro as cover, the grass-type trying to snare one of them with vines extending from the green fur surrounding his neck...and failing to catch any of them.
The rest of the school saw Blitz as a massive threat. The tiniest one let out an affectionate cry and swam to the south riverbank, leaving itself in a vulnerable position. Its eyes teared up, as if asking to be spared. The moment Blitz let his guard down, the rest of the school followed up the feint with Water Gun attacks fired to the black feline's face.
Furious his offer of peace was declined, Blitz continued to show the school no mercy. He was not afraid to get wet, either, jumping into the river's shallows and ramming into the Gorebyss that tricked him. The pink water-type drifted along the current, unconscious after the Luxio's electric ramming attack connected. Nitro lashed two vines at a third of the wilds, snaring it between them and flinging it downstream. The school's numbers and morale dwindling rapidly, the other two Pokémon retreated downstream. Once the coast was clear, Josh and Twilight slowly descended the hill to catch up with his team. "Good job, all of you," Josh congratulated his team, Blitz stepping out of the shallows and shaking his fur dry.

For a few moments, Lionel watches as the young man makes his way off, curiously watching the fight between his Pokemon and the sudden school of Gorebyss that'd made themselves known. It's almost amusing that Josh, in his injured state, had decided to battle - but far be it form him to say anything about it. For a short while longer he watches, as if making sure he didn't get into any more trouble, before he decides it's time for him to get on his own way. He had somewhere to be, after all, and so there he goes, meandering along with Samson at his side.
Some ways down the road, however, does that small posse of Umbreon make themselves known, prancing out of the bushes and into the pathway to all but block the Trainer's way. Lionel isn't quite sure what it is, but that boss looked rather irritated with him, and all he can think is that, maybe, he'd accidentally crossed their territory at the wrong time? Either way, he gets the feeling he isn't getting out of here without a fight, and so alongside Samson, the man tosses out Missy and Nox. "Alright guys, it's time for a big fight. Let's see what you can do, huh?"
Pointing toward the boss, Lionel says, "Nox, that one's for you, use--" But before he can say, the huge Umbreon starts to glow a purple shade, and quite suddenly, it hisses - and so too does Nox, who wobbles in the air and groans... but does not fall. It must've used Curse... As his two other Pokemon begin their fights against the smaller Umbreons, Lionel points to the largest one, and says, "Nox, use Assurance!" The Koffing, happy to follow the order, barrels forward and slams its body into the Umbreon with such force that it goes flying several feet. "Follow up with Clear Smog!" The haze spreads across the field, causing the Umbreon to cough and fit - before it follows up with a sharp ray of psychic damage that sends Nox dizzy - and then, that purple glow again. Another Assurance, this one without Lionel's intervention, sends the Umbreon falling to the ground, unconscious.
Meanwhile, Missy had put one of the others down as well - leaving only the one Samson fought, the Pokemon seeming to be on its last leg. "Wait!" Lionel calls, reaching into his satchel for one of his Pokeballs, quick to throw it at the Umbreon.

The Luxio shook his fur hard enough to douse Josh and Twilight when the two passed close by. Aslan and Blitz in particular looked tired after the big battle. "Come on, Twilight, let's find their Poké Balls and clean this up," he asked his Absol. Out of the corner of his eye, the last remaining Gorebyss was floating downstream and out of sight. Nitro's and Blitz's Poké Balls were in plain sight, Josh easily able to scoop them up and recall the two.
The two combed the shore for the other Poké Balls, heading upstream a little then back down. He spotted one of them pinned between two rocks sticking out of the river. "Illumina, could you use your Bubble to float that to me?" The Chinchou swam to the other side of the rocks, enveloped the Poké Ball in a bubble, and did as asked. Except there were...two? Josh touched his finger to the floating bubbles, popping them and examining the Poké Balls within. Neither of them were his - they appeared to be specialty ones. Nest Balls, in fact!
A little farther downstream, Illumina had found two more, Josh recognizing the large numbers 2 and 4 on the bottom. Definitely his. "Thanks, Illumina. You're the best," he said to the electric Pokémon, still somewhat groaning. She had even found them a shallow place to cross the river. Recalling all of his Pokémon except Twilight, Josh continued northward, the cityscape of Bass in distant sight. At least he could see the finish line now!
