Set in the original region of Arciel, Legends Rising is a route-inspired, but not strictly route-based, Pokemon roleplay. Pick a faction, pick a class, and strike out into the wild to take on the League, master Contest coordination, research the mysteries of Pokemon and Arciel, and much, much more. Will you be a classic trainer? A criminal? A farmer? Choose your destiny on Legends Rising.
Three optional icebreaker questions are offered: 1. If you could hang out with any cartoon character, who would you choose and why? 2. You're given 100,000 Pen, but you have to use it or lose it within a month. What do you spend it on? 3. What would your dream house look like, and where would you build it?
Feel free to discuss any of these or use your own icebreaker!

So far, the evening had been quite fun. Nadine had a smile on her face as she sat down next to her assigned table, a fresh glass of water in her right hand. Her pale yellow dress hugged her form nicely, and black heels adorned her feet. She enjoyed dressing up like this, even though she didn’t get to do it often. Her profession required her to get down and dirty often, and while she loved what she did, it was a nice change of pace, just for one evening.
Her eyes lit up as she noted a blonde man making his way towards her table. Would this be her next table partner?
So far Touma couldn't really complain about the string of dates he'd had today. He'd gotten to meet a lot of interesting and fun people, after all, and while he didn't really think they would wind up pursuing something after today he had enjoyed himself all the same.
Therefore, when he approached the third? Table of the day he did so with a rather good-natured smile on his face, pulling his chair out and slipping into it without too much fuss when he saw that his next date had already arrived. Was he late? He wasn't too sure, and gave the woman an apologetic smile before speaking, his eyes moving over the name cards set up in the middle of the table.
"Hello there - Nadine, is it? That's a very lovely name. I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long."

“Oh, no worries! I just got here a few moments ago myself.” Nadine eyed the name card placed on the table in front of her before continuing. “It’s nice to meet you, Touma.” She smiled at him good-naturedly before taking a sip of her glass, then placing it down again. “I hope you’ve been having an interesting night; I certainly have,” she chuckled. She’d met some really cool people so far, a trend that she hoped to continue late into the evening.
Touma was quite handsome, which was always a pleasant thing in a companion. “So, what do you do for work?”
"Possibly a more interesting night than the ones I've had so far," He mused, thinking back over the time he'd spent in Arciel so far. He looked over the placard again, then at the woman in front of him, taking in her appearance and how she'd dressed up for the occasion. He felt a little under-dressed, considering he'd just found one of his old button down shirts that wasn't as wrinkled as the others and paired it off with his usual jeans. But she was rather stunning, and his gaze was clearly admiring as he looked to her face - hopefully not in a weird way.
"I actually work as a nurse," He said, lacing his fingers together with a hum. "Currently I work at the pokemon centers when I can, and ideally I'd like to turn it into a career choice. With all the new trainers flooding into this region, it might be a little hard, but there are countless cities and I'm learning a lot, so I can't really complain." Glancing from his hands up at her, he gave her a warm smile. "What about you?"

A nurse? That was a very noble profession, and Nadine appreciated that. Sometimes after a particularly long or difficult journey, her team looked pretty rough. She was grateful to all the medical staff who had helped to get them back in good shape. Those Pokemon were like her family, after all.
Nadine smiled at his next question, excitement in her gaze. “I’m an explorer. My job is to find all the nooks and crannies in the world, and crawl into them,” she chuckled at her own description. “I actually love it, though it can be a messy job at times. I can’t see myself doing anything else.”
Her smile faded slightly as her eyes met his. “Does that make sense?”
"That makes perfect sense," He reassured her, looking actually quite interested in the subject. "Sometimes when you find something you're really sure about, it's hard to envision yourself doing anything else. Why would you, when you've already found your calling? It's like it isn't even a possibility." And she looked rather excited about it, which was actually rather endearing. He liked to think he understood - that was why he'd become a nurse rather than anything else they were offering in this region.
"Are you from around here? I'm new to Arciel myself, so I'm not quite familiar enough with all the nooks and crannies around here to crawl into - though I'm not so sure I'd fit as well as you. I've mostly travelled from Birch to here, and... actually, not much further than that." He admitted, a little sheepish.
Nadine chuckled at his words, her eyes sparking with humor. “I’m actually from Kalos. Couriway Town, to be specific.” She leaned closer to him before continuing. “And I’ll let you in on a secret: I’m not familiar with all the nooks and crannies in this region either. That’s what makes exploring so fun! You never know when you’re going to encounter one, or what you’ll find in it.” It was her favorite part of being an explorer, in fact.
Nadine leaned back against her seat again, her secrets spilled. Touma seemed really sweet, and Nadine was quite enjoying their conversation.
At the mention of Kalos Touma's eyes lit up in recognition, and only seemed even more cognizant when she mentioned Couriway Town. "Ah! I know that place, I love the waterfalls there. It's really amazing, especially being so close to the houses and everything without anything disrupting each other. I've never actually stayed there, but I did pass through a long time ago." He knew there was a large hotel in that area, but most of his travels had been spent just backpacking across regions and sleeping under the stars. Not that it bothered him any; those experiences were ones he wouldn't want to replace.
At her self-confessed "secret" he found himself leaning in conspiratorially, propping a hand on his chin and leaning in as though he were fully intrigued by their conversation and what she had to say. "I guess that's something else we have in common, then. I'll do my best not to spill your secret."
Nadine smiled wider as he mentioned the features of her hometown, back in Kalos. “As a kid, I used to love jumping through those waterfalls.” She laughed at the memory. “It would drive my mother crazy, when I’d walk into the house soaked to the bone, but I loved it.” She took a sip of water, placing the nearly empty glass back down on the wooden table. She missed her mother, her family, sometimes. Her smile faded at the thought.
Touma leaned forward, as if preparing to share a secret of his own. Nadine leaned down slightly, and was unable to hold back a slight chucked when when he spoke his piece. “I do appreciate that. After all, think of my reputation!”
"Of course, I wouldn't want to sully your good name. You must have been quite adventurous as a kid," He commented, going back to their previous topic of conversation for a moment. "I don't think I would have been brave enough to hop around from waterfall to waterfall. I probably would have been afraid of slipping. My siblings, on the other hand..." And it's here he trails off, momentarily entertaining the thought of all those kids splashing about in the water and mud and muck. He imagined his parents wouldn't have been overly fond of that, so he can sympathize a little.
When he spotted her nearly empty glass of water he looked at his own untouched one and nudged it over a little. "If you're still parched, You can have mine if you'd like."
ooc: Nadine Durand SORRY FOR THE DELAY it's been a little crazy but it should be calmed down enough now

Nadine leaned back against her seat as she listened to her companion speak. “I think in the beginning, we’re all afraid to slip.” She chuckled. “Even as a kid, the thought would cross my mind sometimes.” Briefly. Very briefly. But it was there. “After a while, I just stopped worrying, and jumped in.” And she hadn’t stopped jumping since then. It was kind of poetic, actually.
Smiling at his kind offer, Nadine shook her head. “I’m okay, thank you.” She eyed his full class, before her dark eye met his light ones. “You’re very sweet; that’s a good trait to have.”
ooc: No worries, I know that things can get crazy sometimes Touma Shinjo
He took in her words with an attentive ear and a nod, and the smile on his face didn't seem to falter in the slightest. "That's... actually really good advice. I feel like that's applicable to life too, in a way." He commented, and though she had declined his offer to take his water he left it where it was, an ever-present invitation should she suddenly decide to change his mind.
Touma did look a little bashful at the compliment though; he'd never really considered himself a sweet person, though he'd be lying if she said he hadn't heard that multiple times before. "I try to be a good person, but I don't think it's particularly sweet, just... trying to do the right thing, you know? But thank you for the compliment," He added, and then, with another bright smile in her direction, "You're really sweet, too. It's been nice speaking with you; this is kind of what I was hoping for when I signed up, and I'm glad it's going well."
Nadine’s eyes widened at the compliment. She’d been called many things throughout her life: brave, daring, crazy, stupid…but never sweet. It was such a nice sentiment, though an unexpected one. It was a testament to her earlier statement; he was sweet.
“I agree, It’s been really nice. I’m glad we got paired together.” Though the evening had started off slow, she’d met some wonderful people tonight. Joining this type of event had been something that she normally wouldn’t have done, but she was glad that she’d broken the habit. She’d gotten dressed up and come here, and for that, she was glad.
"I can only hope it continues to be good," He said, his attention drawn by the sight of various groups getting to their feet as the familiar ring of change sounded through the room. Was it that time already? He'd had the good fortune that most of his dates had been pleasant conversation partners, and for that he felt a little fortunate. He thought he could hear some people complaining or arguing among themselves, and there was a girl crying? Somewhere? But he couldn't really tell. At least it wasn't going that route, and for that he was glad.
As the bodies all around them shift and change, moving to their designated spot, Touma waited a little while longer before getting to a stand as well and giving Nadine a sheepish look. It had felt incredibly short, but he also didn't want to hold anyone else up. "It was nice speaking with you," He said, though the reiteration probably wasn't necessary at this point. His overall content demeanor probably spoke volumes by itself. "And I also hope the rest of your dates go well."
ooc; Nadine Durand i'm good for a mod call to wrap it up if you are!!

So much was Nadine enjoying herself, that she was caught off guard when a melodic ring broke through the friendly atmosphere. It looked like their time was up. “Likewise,” she replied at the compliment. Nadine was glad that she’d come tonight; otherwise, she wouldn’t have met such cool people. “See you again sometime!” She waved at him once with her left hand, before standing up from her seat.
Tucking her chair forward, she made her way towards the opposite direction of her companion. She took a deep breath, before releasing it slowly. She always got a bit nervous when it was time to seat herself at a new table.
Still, she had full confidence that the rest of the night would unravel just as wonderfully as the start of it.
