Set in the original region of Arciel, Legends Rising is a route-inspired, but not strictly route-based, Pokemon roleplay. Pick a faction, pick a class, and strike out into the wild to take on the League, master Contest coordination, research the mysteries of Pokemon and Arciel, and much, much more. Will you be a classic trainer? A criminal? A farmer? Choose your destiny on Legends Rising.
Three optional icebreaker questions are offered: 1. If you could hang out with any cartoon character, who would you choose and why? 2. You're given 100,000 Pen, but you have to use it or lose it within a month. What do you spend it on? 3. What would your dream house look like, and where would you build it?
Feel free to discuss any of these or use your own icebreaker!
Before her next date, Arietta had quickly nicked to the bathroom in order to smoothe down any flyaways, adjust her makeup and take a breather from being in a room with... so many exes?! Like- yeah, she went to school with three of them, but Gabe left, then Shea... uh... she wasn't sure, but none of them really existed while she was dating the other! It was overwhelming, and frankly she was struggling to cope and focus on what she should be focusing on- dating and finding her true love. Lipstick was applied and she smiled at herself in the mirror- it was fine. She could do this, and she would do great!
A card was followed to her next date, who apparently wasn't there yet, and she quickly situated herself in a chair, forcing herself not to look around so not to spot an ex and have her mind go elsewhere before she could start the get-to-know-yous. She ensured she looked the best she could, adjusting her hair, crossing one leg over the other, smoothing out her outfit, ensuring her eyelashes fluttered in just the right way- she had a gameplan, damn it!
As the stranger... Wren... approached and sat down Arietta grinned at them. This was going to go great. Smile painted on her face she waved, "Hi there! I'm Arietta~" her head tilted a little, and her eyes quickly looked them up and down. Gothy, yet chic. She could get behind that, it suited them fairly well, and if she couldn't appreciate fashion thennn just who was she? "And yoooouu look stunning! I love your clip, did you get it from any stores around here? Pikachic? Dragon's den, maybe?"
The last date had gone surprisingly well, and Wren was feeling more hopeful about the decision to join in. Of course it took a little bit to wade through the crowds of people to go where directed. Ah, it seemed their next date had already sat down at the table waiting for them. Judging by the card, this was 'Arietta' which... she promptly told them right after coming up to the table. Heh. Alright then, no problem~. "Nice to meet you, I'm Wren~," they mused, moving to sit down at the table while Arietta scrutinized their outfit.
When Wren heard the compliment, they smiled graciously and dipped their head a little in thanks. But then, Arietta opted to compliment their clip and they couldn't help but laugh a little at that. Of all the things to compliment, Arietta had unknowingly chosen to compliment their ditto. MJ would certainly appreciate it, but Wren wouldn't let on to this as a hand lifted to lightly touch the clip. It was a gesture to tell the ditto to still, there was no need for them to appear quite yet. "It was a gift, actually~," Wren mused, smiling lightly. That wasn't a complete lie, not really. MJ had been a present of sorts.
"Your outfit is quite stunning as well," they conceded, "Are you trying to catch anybody's eye in particular~?" Wren hadn't put much thought into their outfit admittedly. It was just something warm to wear that looked decent enough. Valentine's Day was such a droll holiday to celebrate but for now they didn't mind the cheerful Arietta's demeanor. She seemed nice enough.
Wren! That was a nice name! Like the bird, right? Well it seemed to suit the person before her, at the very least. Hopefully, this would be a fun date! Especially since Wren didn't seem awkward in the slightest, which instantly made her feel more comfortable and less... fidgety. For a brief moment she'd even forgotten she was in a room surrounded by three exes and two of her closet friends- arceus- help. Hair was tucked behind her ear and she kept her smile up.
Oh? A gift! "Well then somebody had a great idea when gifting~" maybe it was hand made by the gifter- oh wouldn't that be like, so cool?! Arietta'd hand made costumes before, she had to, she'd learned from gymnastics due to her parents not being very into it... or... anything she'd done- but still! "It really does look great." She quickly followed up her words to ensure conversation didn't die quickly.
Hands were clasped on the table now, and as Wren spoke Arietta couldn't help but giggle- was she trying to catch anybodies eye in particular? Of course not. "Oh?" But... wouldn't it be... did it look like she'd moved on from her exes? From an outsiders perspective- did she look pretty enough for that to be assumed? Maybe... maybe- probably.
"I'd say i'm trying to catch the eye of a certain dark haired Wren~ they are my current date after all!" A wink, followed by the shaking of her head and a pointed smile, "Technically, this is a dating event- i'm just hoping that those i'm paired with at the very least like my appearance and that i'll find somebody at the end of this all- of course I do adore dressing up, so it's not like i'm just looking cute for the sake of it!" Hair was tucked behind her ear again and she tilted her head at Wren, "Oh! Sorry I forgot! On that note- I know some people come here for friendships rather than relationships, which one of the two are you here for?"
Wren hummed when Arietta said that MJ was a good gift and smirked a little. Yes, if only she knew the truth maybe she wouldn't be so quick to praise. A ditto could take any form after all~. Mmm, oh well. It seemed the question about looking to catch someone's eye gave Arietta pause. How interesting~. What came after however was... well, perplexing. And not exactly what they would call the truth. Arietta hadn't even known they were going to meet and now she was claiming the outfit was to catch their eye? Well, that was rich.
As Arietta went on to explain that she was just hoping to find someone at the end of the speed dating. Ok, that sounded more plausible than what she'd tried to convince Wren of beforehand. The question that was asked of Wren after that little rant of sorts earned a thoughtful hum. "Mmm, never really believed in 'love'. But I namely wanted to meet some new people. It sounded fun enough, and I haven't been disappointed yet~." That was true enough. If there were friendships that became of this, that would be nice, but they weren't going to hold their breath.
Ara's eyebrows raised as Wren spoke once more, mind suddenly whirling- hold the fucking phone. Wren didn't... believe in love? How could you not believe in love?! That's just- that's stupid?! Love was what filled the void of emptiness, love is what made people feel needed, it's what gave meaning, it was something shared between people that made life worthwhile, warm hugs, soft kisses, sultry whispers, secret giggles- it was literally what Arietta lived for. What she wanted, what she needed. Without love- she just- the girl was silent a moment, mouth opened in a small 'o' before returning to a slightly tighter smile than usual.
'...Sorry... i'm curious, how do you not believe in love?" her head tilted ever so slightly, "Is it a personal thing or like- you just reckon people are bullshitting themselves and it doesn't exist just... in the world?" A hand was brought up to her cheek and she gently prodded the skin there, more-so in thought than anything. It was... a weird concept... and she struggled to even get it.
"Uh- but- yeah- making friends is good!" She guessed no flirting for this one but... maybe she could convince them love existed- that would be nice.
Judging by Ara's reaction, she clearly didn't agree with Wren's statement about love. Whatever, they didn't really care what Ara thought. It was their opinion and they would be hard pressed to change it. Nothing in their lives had shown them that love existed, not for them. A shrug would be the initial answer to Ara's question about believing in love. The questions used for clarification thereafter had Wren humming. Alright, fine, they'd bite.
"I've never experienced it. It's never been shown to me, and it's something so easily broken from what I've seen. Why would I believe in something that might as well be a lie or perhaps just another form of manipulation?" Wren mused, giving Ara a half smile. This girl was much too chipper for their taste. Perhaps using one of the icebreakers would be better for conversation than this tasteless one about love. They didn't come to find love on Valentine's Day, regardless of how much of a paradox that might seem.
"What would your dream house look like, and where would you build it?" Safe enough to ask and answer, or so they assumed as much.
