Everything happened quickly. The purchase of the phone, the boarding, Arietta could barely process it, and the minutes between getting there to actually being on the ship. She was jittery, perhaps wth nervous energy, but it was a good jittery! She was excited, and nervous, and a bit fucking petrified because wow okay she was really doing this... Havn't never even left Arciellian waters before the girl was just... doing this.
A breath. A new life. Her hands were gripped at the railing of the deck, eyes wide as she took in the crystilline seas. The little Horsea who went up for air before dissapearing back below the current. She almost didn't register Gabe's words, too caught in staring out into the endless blue. It took her a moment, but after a beat she smiled, moving to lean against his side.
"It does, doesn't it?" Arietta stared up at him for a moment. He looked peacefully... like the weight of his worried had been pushed away. This was good. This was perfect. She could get away from her asshole parents, she had her new phone to contact her friends, and she got the cute ending that people in romantic movies always got! What more is there to it?
A hand moved then to rest at his back, and her head gently butted into his shoulder. "The views really nice too- and i'm not talking about the sea~"
A small chuckle warmed Gabe and finally bubbled out into a bright adoring laugh. Looking back down at Ari with nothing but the uttermost affection, Gabe shifted so that he could rest his cheek comfortably down on her head and wrap his arms around her. “I love you so much; thank you…” he murmured gently, warmly. “Why don’t we go down stairs and celebrate a bit now?” he grinned toothily at her.
Arietta curled into his embrace, a content sigh leaving her. This was more then perfect, this was like, totally right. He was warm and there was nobody she'd rather go through this with, nobody at all! Her eyes momentarily closed, the girl focusing on the hum of his voice as it rung out, a reply of, "It's nothing~ I love you too, Gabe." leaving her without hesitation. For a beat or two she just allowed herself the moment, head tilting to look up at Gabe for a moment as her lips settled in a soft smile. His next works had her giggling and nodding, shifting to tug at his arm. "Ohmyarceus, yessss!?!"
And celebrate they did.

Landing in Alola was exciting, it was fun! Once the boat had docked, a few days later, in the high of it all and taking their feeling of invincibility and newfound freedom in stride the two spent the night in a luxuary hotel, wanting to make their first night there truly worthwhile, and blowing a decent amount of money on it. But it was fine! Things were great! They would just be able to make soooo much money once their got their starters!
There was no time to wait to get their Alolan lives started. Arietta had woken up momentarily feeling out of place, confused- and then it hit her. Everything hit her. She was fifteen, and this was her new life. She was gonna live like a damn princess, a life of luxury, duh! Of hotels and soooo much money, it'd be like a super nice vacation just, forever, with the person she loved the most!
She couldn't get ready quick enough, being the little ball of energy she was. Giddy, excited, a little nervous, and not quite knowing how to process all her emotions at once. Makeup was dabbed on, contacts were gently placed in, hair was adjusted into a cute high pony, it would swing when she walked and oh, it'd give off such a nice trainer feel! The lab person would totally love her and help her out!
Down towards the outskirts of Hau'oli, just out the city, in the best outfit she could dig out of her bag, Arietta was chatting up a storm, excitement practically radiating off her. "I realllllllly can't decide who I want though, seriously!" A dramatic sigh left her her hands animated moving as she spoke, "Like, right, Popplio- that's it's name right- they're super cute, and i'd totally be able to sing with them, but then like, you're obviously getting Litten and they'd be total opposites- what if they fight???" A big head shake, she let her gaze draw across the grasses for a moment, careful to avoid getting too close. "And I just don't know if they;re my type, right- like, I could totally get a cute litten, and we'd match raise like, Littens together- that's so cute."
"Or!" Oh. She wasn't finshed, "What was the other one? Rowlett? They fly! I could do like, I could get back into aerial stuff, arceus knows I haven't practiced in so long, I used to be the highest jumper when I did gymnastics- you'd know you saw like a few of my comps before everything went to total shit- but!!" Hands smashed together in a clap, "It'd totally work. Or- or maybe i'll just see which gets along better with your mon and go with that?"
When Gabe awoke that morning in a strange hotel in a foreign land, he felt a strange sense of satisfaction. His plans had worked. He had made it this far with his beautiful and wonderful girlfriend, and they were starting fresh here. There was so much to look forward to, but right then, getting Pokemon was paramount.
He got up just a little after Ari had already started getting ready and was scrambling right after to do the same. He pulled his hair back into two long low pig tails and did a bit of makeup and eyebrow work. This was a special occasion, and he just had to look perfect. After that, though, he went with a t-shirt and jeans… and sandals. The real height of fashion.
Now Gabe was listening to Arietta as they made their way to the lab, and really he couldn’t stop smiling? Ari was cute. Her concerns were cute. Everything about this was cute. “Another Litten would be cute,” he agreed with a small laugh before she went on. A Rowlet did in fact fly and could be a useful scout if they needed something like that. But then she spoke, and Gabe couldn’t agree more. “Definitely gotta get one that matches you, in whatever way shape or form that is…” Looking up, he watched a few Wingull and Pikipek fly over. He definitely wanted a bird as well. “We should look for Oricorio after. They’re very special and take different forms on different islands.” Or something like that.
But soon the lab was in sight, and Gabe couldn’t contain the sudden rush of exhilaration. Grasping Arietta’s hand, he grinned wildly at her. “Let’s run!” And with that, he made a quick sprint the rest of the way, perhaps carting her along too fast after. As they reached the doors of the lab, Gabe took in a breath. His hand never did leave Ari’s. “We’re doing this…” he grinned sideways at her…
Before finally stepping inwards. The lab was cool but well lit. There were a lot of tanks of swimming Pokemon around. Gabe paused to glance sideways as an Alomomola side-eyed him before swimming onwards. “Oh… oh wow… omg…” Gabe breathed. He wouldn’t even fully register the sounds of steps until they were loud, and as he turned to find Professor Kukui there, Gabe took a quick step back. “Oh! S-hi!” he grinned.
The professor smiled a little and tilted his head to one side. “You’re the kiddos who called yesterday yeah?” he asked. Gabe gave a nod back. He had squeezed in some time just to make sure that they actually had Pokemon to get now. “Awesome! Well I’ve got three Pokemon here!” he said before releasing them. Out popped the signature three: Litten, Popplio, and Rowlet. Only one of each though, it seemed.
Arietta was so super excited! Her heart was pounding with anticipation for the new friend she was eventually going to have and help raise with the guy of her dreams! Or- friends?! Yessss. Yes that sounded better. But yeah! It was important she got a pokemon that matched her, whatever that meant, she'd totally figure it out once they got there, she was sure of it. Her head bobbed up and down more as he spoke, only for her to let out a curious hum as he mentioned.... and oricorio? She'd never heard of them before! "Oricori-"
Run?! R- oh fuck she was being dragged. A squeak left the girl, who quickly used her athletic background to keep pace with Gabe, hair fluffing up in the breeze until all at once she found herself in a place she'd never dared to dream she'd be before. A labratory- for pokemon! It... was such a strange environment, and Arietta found herself struggling to adapt, pokemon watching her, lab equiptment, clean places...
They were really doing this. Aaaaaah!!! She bounced on the spot, very ready to squeal to Gabe about her emotions, at least until she followed his gaze to the professor. Arietta managed to beam as bright as she could at them, oh she was hype, way too hype.
Oh! Oh three pokemon? Her eyes widened as the three pokemon were released and she squeezed Gabe's hand perhaps a little too tightly in eagerness. Sure, this meant no matching Littens but- aaaah?! AaaaaAAAAH! "Gabe! Gabe go meet the Litten! And- uh- uhm... what were the other twos names...?"
A head tild, and she pushed her lips together... uh.... Rowlett and Popplio! "...I'll.. uhm... make a decision after you do! Yeah!"
