How would you describe yourself? "Uh..." Keone is caught off guard, even knowing this is the sort of question most interviews would start with. "I don't... know, really. I guess I'm... nice?" A quote from a show pops into his head: 'nice is what you say when you don't have anything else to say about someone'. Gee, thanks for that brain. "I'm... pretty level-headed, usually, I think. I haven't... been in the best headspace lately, but I like to hope things are gradually getting better?" Arceus he hoped they would. Why are you interested in the class you've chosen? "I've always been interested in raising Pokemon," he tells the interviewer. "I'm not in it to breed the best battlers or contest stars. I just want to be around Pokemon and raise them to be the best and healthiest they can be, and help teach others to take the best care of their Pokemon that they can, too." Why are you interested in training in Arciel? Why not another region? "My dad got transferred here for work, and I'm still finishing my last year of high school. So even though I'm doing my classes online now, and trying to get more independent, I like being able to go home when I need to." He considers it a bit more. "I mean I guess mom's in Kanto, but I've seen more of Kanto growing up, so Arciel is... more of an adventure? And there's a wider variety of Pokemon here. And I guess maybe I get along with dad a little better these days, not that anything's wrong with mom. We just aren't super close." What do you consider your best attributes? They can be physical, mental, social, or anything else. Oh dear. A light blush comes to the boy's face at being asked that. "Um... Am I allowed to say I'm modest?" He laughs nervously. Sure he could say he was 'loyal' or 'hard-working', though recent events had caused him to question both. He genuinely didn't like to think about himself in this kind of light, though. "It's not that I don't think I have positive attributes, it's just... I'd rather hear them from other people than toot my own horn, I guess." What do you consider your worst attributes? Be honest, now! Ah, that's a bit easier. Acknowledge one's weaknesses is just being self-aware after all. "I'm not always good at managing or recognizing my emotions. I can be kind of distant and then wonder why people aren't closer to me. I guess... I can be kind of a jerk to my friends sometimes." That generally wasn't true, but a particular incident recently had Keone being rather down on himself. What was your childhood like? How was school? "Oh, it was fine. Mom and Dad were never married or even dating really, just good friends and co-parents, but they lived together up until I was twelve. By then them separating was kind of sad, but I was old enough to be okay with it, and starting to go back and forth between houses in different regions had its perks. School was fine, too. Nothing special. Still finishing up my last year, like I said before, but while I kinda miss the social aspect of going to sit-down classes, I think traveling and meeting people ought to make up for it, ya know?" How is your relationship with your family? "It's really good all around. I've gotten pretty close to dad the past few years as I've gotten older and learned to understand him more. Mom's great too, just closer to my sister than to me, which is fine. My stepdad's pretty cool. And my sis and I are thick as thieves, even if we haven't seen as much of each other since I started traveling and she started college." What do you like to do for fun? "Hmm... I suppose raising Pokemon is my main pastime. I also like comics and manga, moreso than cartoons or anime. I like building models of things like mechas, and stuff that really engages my attention in a hands-on way like that. I used to have tons of Legos but they're mostly back in Kanto. Uh... Traveling and sight-seeing have become major things the past year too. It's always cool to just experience the world, you know?" What are your feelings on romance? Keone goes quiet for a minute, and when he finally speaks his voice is barely audible. "I don't... know anymore. This um... this guy I liked... I'm not sure if I should call him my 'first love' or if it was really that serious but... He kinda... really hurt me... pretty recently..." Keone wouldn't get into the details, but the ass in question may have gotten really drunk and banged someone else in the bathrooms at Keone's birthday party... "I told him I needed some space to think, and I just wanted a week or two, but... when I tried to get back in touch with him, I couldn't. I honestly... wanted to apologize, too." He's begun tearing up now thinking about it. "I feel like I overreacted, like I hadn't even told him how much I liked him, so expecting him to act like he knew was dumb on my part. But now I can't tell him that, or how I feel, or how much I miss him, or..." He stops, sniffling and full on crying now. "I'm so sorry. Do you need a minute?" Keone nods, and the interviewer goes to get him some tissues. After a few minutes, he's gotten himself under control again, and they continue. What are your goals for the future? Short-term and long-term. Keone nearly tears up again as find Prem jumps to mind as a goal, but he shakes it off and tries to focus on himself. "I just... want to see as much of Arciel as I can, meet new people and Pokemon, and become an established breeder. Like I said before, I'd love to be able to help teach people the most ideal ways to care for their Pokemon. Not that most people don't do a pretty good job, but there's always room for improvement, right?" If you could be a Pokemon, what species or typing would you choose and why? He doesn't have to think too long. "Charjabug. They're soft and squishy and green, and their ability helps their allies. I too want to be cute and loved and helpful to others." He chuckles very softly. "Other than that, I guess... I've been compared to a Fairy-type by a few different people. Maybe someday we'll find a region with a Fairy-type Charjabug variant, huh?" He smiles softly. What do Pokemon mean to you? "Pokemon are life, aren't they? They're friends and partners, but they also make the world run like it does. The being that created us, the embodiments of time and space, truth and ideals, life and death, they'e all Pokemon. Some scientists even think we evolved from Pokemon, and if not, we're incredibly lucky to share a world with them, don't you think?" Anything else you'd like to tell us about before you go? Keone is still dwelling on the romance part a bit, but forces a smile and shakes his head. "Just that I really hope to get better at making friends through this journey." Whether that meant spreading his eggs to more baskets or choosing his baskets better or just... getting luckier, he didn't want to get hurt again. |

Height 5'05" / 165cm Build Scrawny Hair Color Seafoam Eye Color Dark Amber | Keone is pretty small for his age, and borderline underweight. His right eye under his eyepatch is whited out and blind, and his eye socket is a bit warped around it. He's had this defect since birth. His ears are pierced, though he usually just wears black studs. He usually wears tank tops when the weather permits, but isn't picky about cold weather attire. Cargo shorts or pants are more common than jeans or other trousers. He alternates between comfortable sneakers and hiking boots depending on where he'll be traveling. Aura His aura is primarily green and varying shades of teal, from viridian to mint. He has a bit of brown at his core. His aura is soft like an aurora and ripples gently. |
