Ah, now THIS was more like it. A route that went underground. Being a miner, Marley could always appreciate a well formed cave, especially one that, he silently admitted, was as pretty as this. The moss that coated the cave walls provided a soft glow that lit up the caves, without the light being absolutely blinding. Hell, Marley had tested out his other eye, switching his eyepatch around, to tell whether he could handle the light. He could! It was almost like this place was made for him to walk through. The moss' glow enhanced his left eye's already substantial night vision.
He whistled a small tune as he walked, the sound echoing off of the cave walls. He could only wonder what he might find in a place like this, what sort of pokemon he would encounter, and what sort of things he could find in the walls. The thing about caves, they always contained goodies that you could find if you just new where to look.

A Poké Ball with a 50% chance of capturing a wild Pokémon, with a higher, 80% chance of catching any Pokémon that is encountered on Route 3A or Route 3B, or Water-types in the Crystal Lake.
As Marley made his way through the dark tunnels of the caverns, he blinked as he felt something knock against his foot. The Galarian blinked and looked down at the ground, seeing what appeared to be a pokeball on the ground. As he bent down to pick it up, he'd find it was actually a dive ball. Strange. What was one of these doing here? Well, finder's keepers. He tucked the ball into his bag, before continuing on down the tunnel.
As Marley walked through the caverns, a light caught his attention. A glow, separate from the moss that grew in this place. His eyes came upon a floating form, spherical, like a glowing, violet star. A Minior.
"Well, ain'tcha a beauty," Marley said with a smile, looking at the floating rock pokemon. Well, he could be hardly turn down such a pokemon, could he? With a flick of his wrist, the pokeball containing the Panpour Sprits came out to play. "Sprits, hit it with a Watergun!" Now, if he remembered, this little thing being in its core form meant it was on the weaker side, right? About one hit should do the trick. The Panpour wasted no time, firing a small burst of water right at the Minior. The shot knocking the little pokemon out of the air.
As it bounced along the ground, Marley readied a pokeball. "Sorry for the cheap shot mate, but yer too good a sight to pass up," he said, throwing the pokeball at the Minior.
Marley gave a small smile as the pokemon ceased moving, signifying the capture of the Minior. He walked over to the ball, picking it up. "hehe, nice." he said, thinking for a moment, "Welcome to the team Nova." he said, before the pokeball vanished, the Minior going to the box. Humming a small, cheerful tune, Marley continued on down the dark tunnel.
"Oi! You there! Hold it!" Marley paused in place, hearing the voice before slowly looking back behind him. Behind him was what could be best described as your typical thug. Leather jacket, punk hair, torn jeans. The whole attire made him think of the Gym trainers in Spikemouth, back home in Galar. Though this guy didn't seem to have any of the charm as he gave a predatorial smirk. "Now then, why don't you be good and just hand over your stuff, ok? There's nobody down 'ere to save ya, so let's just make this easier, huh?" The thug gave a flick of his wrist, and in a flash of light, the large, fat, black form of an Alolan Raticate appeared before him, hissing at him.
He was being robbed. Or at least, this guy was trying to rob him. Marley couldn't help but chuckle. "You serious mate? You honestly want to try this?" The thug cocked an eyebrow. He had expected some defiance, but the lanky Galarian's laugh seemed to get under his skin. "Yeah, I do. Now hand it over before my Raticate makes a chew toy outta ya." Marley's smirk turned almost vicious. "I have a better idea." Marley pulled out a pokeball, "You stand right there, and I'll bury you into the wall, shall I?" With a flick of his pokeball, and a flash of light, the seething form of Marley's Mankey, Brawly, appeared before him. The pig monkey's eyes immediately locked onto the Raticate in front of him, who was suddenly getting a very bad feeling about all of this.
"Brawly...attack."
The Mankey let out a shriek of glee as he dove at the Raticate, who barely had time to scream before the first blow hit it.
The beatdown on the Ratticate was amusing, to say the very least. At least for Marley it was. Tad couldn't withdraw his pokemon fast enough, and then had to climb up the walls of the cave to try and get away from the raging Mankey. He couldn't help but laugh at the once tough punk clinging for his life. "Now then, you were sayin' mate?" he said teasingly.
Tad was getting desperate. He needed to get rid of that Mankey. He grabbed two balls and threw them, one of them being a Mareanie, and the other being a Wimpod. The Wimpod took one look at the angry fighting type and did what any other member of its species would do, and booked it down the tunnel. Brawly, seeing the sight of prey running away, took off after it. "Hey! Brawly!" Marley yelled out as his pokemon took off down the tunnel.
Tad, now seeing that the Mankey was gone, smirked as he hopped down, his Mareanie between him and Marley. "I was saying, hand over yer s%$#!" he said, confident that Marley was now defenseless. Oh, the poor man.
Marley took one look at the water type and smirked. With the flick of a pokeball, the floating form of Amp appeared before him. "And here's my response," Marley said with a smirk.
The tunnels were lit up by the charge of a thunderbolt, and the screaming of poor, unfortunate Tad.
When Brawly finally came back, after having hunted down the Wimpod, Marley was by himself, smirked. "Well, good to see you had fun." he said with a chuckle, Let's get goin' shall we?"
In a cave where moss glowed and provided light, you tended to expected to see certain things. What you didn't expect to see was an Arrokuda, seemingly floating through the air as it swam around. Marley had to stop and stare at it for a moment. That...was something you didn't see every day.
Of course, he snapped out of it when the floating fish spotted him, and shot towards him. Marley remembered how these things were normally used by projectiles by a certain bird pokemon, so he had to act fast. "Amp!" Marley yelped out, throwing out the ball. The Magnemite appeared, and in almost an instant, blasted the floating fish with many volts of electricity. The Arrokuda slumped to the ground, unconscious.
Marley looked down at the fish, feeling a little silly. "Erm, sorry about that. Got a little spooked," he said, before bouncing a pokeball off of the little fish.
Good, he managed to catch it. Mainly because it would be REALLY awkward if it broke out and was pissed. Marley picked up the curious fish in its new ball, tucking it away in his coat before continuing onwards.
Marley blinked, before his gaze fell downwards. At his feet, flopping around on the ground, was yet, ANOTHER fish pokemon. This one being the goldfish pokemon Goldeen. And unlike Arrokuda earlier, this one wasn't floating around, but flopping around like a helpless little fish should. Marley just gave a small sigh. Where were all these fish coming from?
"Alright, 'ere." He bent down, scooping up the fish in his arms before looking around. A little bit away, he found a small body of water. "Here." he said, dumping the Goldeen into the water, where he can swim away, as nature intended.
As Marley walked down through the tunnels of the caverns, he noticed something alongside the wall. Something that was curled up in a ball. Something furry. Marley blinked, curious about what was sleeping there, and why they would pick such a spot.
As he approached, the mass of fur shifted and began to unfurl itself. A Lycanroc. And a massive one by the looks of it. Marley's mind went through what he knew about this pokemon. Wasn't this one that had multiple forms? If he remembered correctly, this one was...Midday form, correct?
"Oh, sorry about that," Marley said quietly, "Didn't mean to wake ya." Fortunately, the Lycanroc didn't seem too bothered by it. Marley looked around the dimly lit tunnel they were in. "Strange. Didn't expect to see something like you down here. Thought you'd be more in place up on the surface." If it was a midnight form or even a dusk form, that would make sense. He moved over to sit down beside the Lycanroc. "Hey, how'd you like to come join me?" he asked, pulling out a Luxury Ball and holding it to the Lycanroc.
Marley gave a small smile as the Lycanroc vanished into the pokeball. Well, that was easier than expected. He looked at the pokeball in his hand, before smiling and tucking the ball into his jacket, before getting up and continuing on his way.
