How would you describe yourself? A shrug would be given as Jazz set propped his elbow on the table and placed his chin in his hand. "Hmm~... well, I'm pretty cool, just, chill yunno?" Jazz stated, smirking and winking a bit at the interviewer. Well, that was reasonable enough... maybe rephrasing the question would get more of a response? Fair enough, how would you say others describe you? A more thoughtful expression crossed Jazz's features before smiling again, "Loyal, trustworthy....hmm, hardworking and always down for some fun~," he mused, winking at the bit about fun. Judging by the way he said it, 'fun' could mean anything... Achem, moving on. Why are you interested in the class you've chosen? The silence was deafening as Jazz seemed deep in thought. It seemed that whatever the reason, maybe it was more personal? After a few moments, the interviewer tried again. Why did you become a ranger? More silence. The interviewer fidgets uncomfortably. Finally, Jazz breaks the silence with what appears to be presumably a well thought out answer. "Well, I wanna make a difference yunno? Protect others and well, show that I matter. Show that I'm not just a waste of space." Oh... ok, that was a pretty cool, wasn't it? "Yeah, and being able to travel around the different regions is pretty cool too." That was a decent response, ok fair enough. Why are you interested in training in Arciel? Why not another region? "Well, I was transferred here by the ranger headquarters but I guess it would be cool to explore in my free time. I like the different variants and region specific Pokemon as well." That was pretty straight forward, heh. "I still like Alola a lot and want to see a few other regions but that's mostly because I have family and friends back in those regions." Oh, that was a pretty good point. What do you consider your best attributes? They can be physical, mental, social, or anything else. More silence, oh... and a wink. That was definitely not a blush from the interviewer. "Well~, I'm pretty good looking or so I'm told~," Jazz mused, chuckling a little. A hand would be waved dismissively as if he had never been flirting in the first place, "Other than that~, I'd say I'm pretty loyal and a hard worker. I care about others and that's why I'm good at my job. All work and no play however makes Jack, or Jazz a dull boy. I love parties and just having a good time, I would say I'm the life of a party but you could ask my friends instead~. " Another wink, and the interviewer shifted uncomfortably. Jazz just chuckled and sat back in his chair. What do you consider your worst attributes? Be honest, now! Jazz squinted at the interviewer, wondering what kind of game they were playing. The silence stretched on while the interviewer coughed lightly, trying to break the awkward silence. They were just about to rephrase the question to something more specific and maybe less vague when Jazz cleared his throat. "I have... some skeletons in my closet, you could say. I have bad luck with... some people," Jazz murmured, rubbing the back of his neck uncomfortably. Is that right? The interviewer prompted only to be the target of a death glare. Ehehe... ok, moving on. "Guess I get... fixated and maybe obsessed sometimes, too." The interviewer opened up their mouth to ask for clarification before Jazz cut them off. "Yunno~, I normally don't say any of this stuff until after a first date~. What do you say cutie~?" The interviewer chokes and has to take a short break before trying to delve into the questions again. Jazz just laughs and sits back. What was your childhood like? How was school? Jazz goes quiet and picks at a spot on the table that suddenly became very interesting. Somehow, the interviewer gets a bad feeling about this. Maybe those 'skeletons' Jazz had mentioned earlier were real? "Yunno, normal kid stuff. Some drama, moved a bunch of places, whatever." Well... that was... less than helpful. What about anything specific? It says here you were born in the Era region? What was that like? That was...clearly a mistake judging by the way Jazz glared daggers at the interviewer but then a half laugh escaped him as he sat back and folded his arms behind his head. "What, you want to meet the parents already~. My, my, we're in quite a rush aren't we now. Slow down there, cutie~." The interviewer turned bright red and sputtered something before quickly moving on to the next question. Jazz's childhood was peaceful up to a certain point. School life was average, more details are listed in the history. How is your relationship with your family? The interviewer already dreaded what Jazz's reaction would be to this one. Arceus curse whoever came up with this list of questions. "Dear me~, again with the parents~? At least take me out to dinner first, darling~," Jazz quipped, leaning forward and blowing a kiss at the interviewer. The interviewer blushed brightly and sputtered some, struggling to find a way to rephrase the question. "My cousin is pretty cool. Closer to him than the others. And no, I won't say why so don't bother, alright sweetie~?" Jazz went on to explain, giving the interviewer a dangerous smile. A chill went down the interviewer's spine as they quickly moved on to the next page. What do you like to do for fun? Oh good... this should be a harmless question. The interviewer says a silent prayer to Arceus that this is the case. "Mmm, if I didn't know better I'd say that this is a date~. I like to do a lot of things sweetheart~," Jazz mused, twirling a couple locks of hair between his fingers, "In fact, I could show you a very good time if you'd like~. After the interview of course." The interviewer sputtered again, trying and failing to hide behind the papers they'd been writing on. Jazz simply laughed, shaking his head before waving a hand dismissively. "I like to work with technology. Put things together, invent things, it's calming I guess. I have a few projects I do in my free time actually including my pet project of perfecting a prosthetic limb. And I like to explore, but I think I already mentioned that~." O-oh, that wasn't so bad. Actually, it seemed like it was a fun hobby. Though the interviewer didn't quite see how inventing was calming. What are your feelings on romance? Hhhh... this wasn't going to end well. The interviewer could already tell judging by how much Jazz had been flirting already. Arceus, they would really need a drink after all this. Jazz hummed and tilted his head, grinning bemusedly at the interviewer as he leaned forward, even taking their hand. "Mmm~? Oh dear me~, have you fallen for me already? And so forward too~. Shall we forget this interview and go somewhere else, love~?" The interviewer sputtered, blushing profusely as they tried to think of something to say to that rather unprofessional behaviour. Nothing came to mind. Thankfully, Jazz just laughed and leaned back again, waving a hand dismissively, "But that would mean love is more than a pretty fairy tale, wouldn't it~. I haven't had much luck so I'm not sure such a beast exists. Much less for me~. Of course, I do like to be spoiled, romance is actually quite a lot of fun~. I do like playing around, and I do love sex. As long as my partner doesn't get too... well, attached I suppose you might say~. Oh dear, I suppose that means I've broken your heart?" The interviewer promptly shook their head, not even attempting to respond to that. They hadn't asked for something like that at all. Arceus, please let the other questions be easier... "Don't worry darling~, you can still get my number~." A wink would be given and the interviewer promptly moved onto the next question, hiding their face behind their notebook. What are your goals for the future? Short-term and long-term. Finally, something normal. This question wouldn't bite them in the butt... hopefully? Jazz grins and the interviewer's heart sinks. "The future? Already? Dear me, you've fallen quite hard haven't you~," Jazz chuckled, rather enjoying watching the interviewer squirm uncomfortably, "Immediate goals however would be exploring the area, getting acquainted with the other rangers... maybe upgrade my gaming computer when it comes~." Well, that seemed pretty harmless. And it allowed the interviewer time to breathe a little easier. And long term? The interviewer prompted, watching as Jazz looked thoughtful for a moment, "Well, I went to school so I could make functioning prosthetic limbs that would connect with working nerve ends. I managed one so far for a friend with a lot of help, but that was also made with a new type of metal and had quite a few personal touches... I’d like to work on making the process easier and allowing for more personal touches just for fun." W-wow, that was... pretty admirable actually. If you could be a Pokemon, what species or typing would you choose and why? A far off look appeared in Jazz's eyes as the question was asked. There wasn't a moment's hesitation this time. "A Luxray. Electric typing. A Shinx was my first Pokémon and I evolved him into a Luxray. So graceful, powerful... They're just super cool." The interviewer couldn't help but smile at the short description. Clearly Jazz's Luxray was important to him. What do Pokemon mean to you? "Friends, companions, partners... They mean a lot to me and well... I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Marshmallow or Kovu for that matter." The interviewer has to take a moment to remember that this Kovu was the aforementioned Luxray and Marshmallow? Well, that was his... Wigglytuff? How odd... Jazz caught the interviewer's expression and narrowed his eyes, "Hey, Marsh has pulled me through a lot of tough scrapes. She's... she's something special." Alright, that was that then. Anything else you'd like to tell us about before you go? "Mmmm, well~... I could give you my number~." The interviewer sputtered and Jazz just laughed, waving farewell. "Maybe next time sweetheart~" |
Appearance
Height 6'00" / 183cm Build Lean/Muscular Hair Color Green Eye Color Green | Standing at 6', Jazz has a well-defined medium muscular build thanks to his active lifestyle. His olive tinged skin ensures that he won't burn despite how long he spends in the sun. Jazz's brilliant green eyes are the focal point of his features, accented only by his long cheekbones and fine features that have just a little bit of dark stubble that he still refuses to shave in case a beard may be in his future. Occasionally, he will be seen wearing glasses, but he doesn't like to advertise that he needs glasses now. Jazz has long since given up on trying to do anything with his hair other than putting it up in the occasional braid. If it's really in his way, he's learned how to put it in a bun, but most of the time it stays down because why bother. Jazz has accumulated numerous scars over the years, most of which stay covered up. One of the most notable scars he has is a nasty gash on his side from when he landed on something sharp during a fight. There are three large X symbols on his forearms, each of which looks like they have been scarred over several times. Jazz likes to joke that it makes him triple X squared but that's mostly to prevent anyone from asking the obvious question. He has a large tattoo that covers the majority of his back (along with more of his scars). The tattoo holds a special meaning to Jazz but most of the time he'll just say it looked cool. Jazz's attire consists of his favorite hoodies with various funny or sarcastic expressions on them. He almost always favors what's considered comfortable and practical over fashionable. His sense of style could be considered street chic or clothes that look flattering and yet are practical and durable for daily use. Depending on the activity for the day, Jazz could wear anything from a casual lazy boy look to something trend setting or, on the other end of the spectrum, gothic and angsty. Lately he’s taken a liking to wearing more feminine attire and when he’s in the mood, likes to play around with skirts, dressy shirts or blouses, and maybe an occasional dress depending on the what he feels like. Aura A veritable flame, Jazz’s aura is rather bright and consists of numerous shades of reds yellows and oranges throughout. There are flickers of green and pink woven throughout the flame but these are less noticeable by far and are seen on rare occasions. Notably, there is a silvery brown center in the flame that can spread throughout depending on Jazz's mood, even making the flame glow brighter. Sometimes, on Jazz's bad days, the flame becomes muted with black but these moments are few and far in between. |

Eventually, he wants to tie it into his ranger assignment. For now, he wants to focus on being the best ranger he can be. Maybe he'll make some new friends, Pokemon or otherwise, along the way as well. Even though Jazz was born in Era, he’s picked up a Verian (England) accent. His zodiac sign is a Capricorn. **While Jazz is a transgender male, he’s currently experimenting with being genderfluid.** Personal History: Jazz's childhood was a tumultuous time to say the least. Things were peaceful for a brief period with her father as her role model. He was Jazz's ally against Mother that wanted to make her only child into the perfect daughter that Jazz would never agree to be. When he wasn't spending time with his father, Jazz was off spending time with his cousins' parents and a close family friend. They seemed to understand where Mother never did, and it was these people that fostered Jazz's love of technology and helped him to understand what his true strengths were. Science and technology were his favorite past times and thus he started to actively avoid his mother and being forced to play dress up in what he considered to be disgusting outfits. He grew to be considered a tomboy according to his mother. During school Jazz constantly hung out with the other boys to the extent that he was called 'one of the guys.' And you know what, it felt good. Maybe there was more to this than just being considered a tomboy. Things started to get bad after an elder cousin was sent to prison, someone Jazz had looked up to like an older brother. To make matters worse, a civil war had broken out and Jazz's father was killed in the crossfire. After that, his life became a living hell with a mother that no longer knew what to do with him. He grew to resent her and started to spend more time with her cousins and other family friends. It became unbearable after a month and burdened with grief and hating life at home, Jazz ran away. Caught in the middle of gang wars, he was effectively swept up in the middle of this life and started to spend more time with this 'family' than with Mother. Not like she cared anyway. He would spend the next few years of his life, proving his worth to the gang and getting into all sorts of trouble. They helped develop his ability to hack and would start both literal and figurative fires against the people that had taken her father from her. It wasn't until Jazz's aunt called him out on his behavior that he even tried to spend a modicum of time with Mother. Mother, who didn't know what to do with him anymore. Mother, who refused to call him by his chosen name. Mother, who seemed to hate what Jazz had become enough that she had even started seeing Father's replacement. As far as Jazz was concerned, Mother was dead to him. He spent far more time with their close family friend than anyone else. At least until the gang was taken over by a new leader. Jazz knew he was in over his head and hid from the gangs, fearful that they would take it out on his family and friends if they did eventually catch him. Eventually, he was found by a close friend and after a bit of finagling, was effectively rescued by his cousin. They were ushered off to another region, Jazz's family and friends were sent away to Alola, and Jazz along with his cousin left for Veria. Life in Veria was freeing in so many ways. It took some convincing, but they actually settled down somewhere on this giant moving train city. It was a dream for Jazz who managed to get a job working on this massive train. Not only that, but his close friend decided to move to Veria from Alola. It was perhaps this move and the encouragement from those around him that would finally convince Jazz to have transitional surgery. The transition was life changing for Jazz to say the least of things. He absolutely loved feeling right in this new body, never mind the recovery time needed afterwards. It opened the door for him to actually start to heal and find his place in the world. It was great! Everything seemed to finally fall into place....and then the Ultra Beasts came, and his close friend was affected by one of the accursed beasts after Jazz had tried to save them from the thing. He never really fully accepted it. After a sequence of unfortunate events, one of his other friends would lose a limb and after talking back and forth with his friends' dad, Jazz managed to create a fully functioning robotic limb with some extra personal touches. Something clicked after that, it was like he had finally found the one thing that he truly enjoyed. It took some time to chase after this new dream, but it started with actually finishing high school. After that, Jazz would leave for Celadon City in Kanto to attend college and pursue what he thought was his new passion. After living with his cousin for what felt like years, it was weird being on his own. At first, Jazz simply tried to survive college life but ended up getting roped into this forming a gaming club of sorts. Initially, it started as an attempt to form a study group to help classmates that were struggling but ended up ‘practicing’ by playing some pranks or just gaming when studying got to be too much. It was fun, getting to mess with each other through hacking and though Jazz even left a few 'Easter Eggs' on the school's web page among other harmless pranks. Somehow this attempt to tutor everyone managed to become a gaming community that bonded together even in the worst of times. It was nice, having something to look forward to at the end of the day and being labeled a club even got them funding to get some better computers. Of course half the fun was ‘teaching’ everyone else to build the best desktops by using the best parts. This also meant that he could experiment with the new techniques he was constantly learning with the IT Major. His minor however, was a much harder focus on biology and healing specifically. He graduated, barely, and managed to sneak into an internship that was supposed to be one step on the road to becoming a doctor. After a few weeks in the ER however, Jazz dropped out of the program and decided to just get away from everything and everyone. It was too stressful and draining to be around people that constantly needed his help, so, Jazz retreated for close to a month in the wilderness. There, he would reconnect with his love of Pokemon and realized that it wasn't the science behind it that he relished, but rather the act of helping others. Maybe he would never be cut out to be a doctor, it was far too overwhelming, but there was another way he could help and get paid to travel. Without much thought on the matter, Jazz joined the rangers and after attending ranger school, he headed to yet another region. This time, on assignment. This Arciel region could be the next best thing for him, who knew. Pokemon
