How would you describe yourself? I would call myself “passionate”. I am a very passionate person in everything I set my mind to; be it my research, my gem collecting, raising my baby girl, or anything I’m doing at the moment, I always want to put my one-hundred-and-one percent into it! I’m also totally in love with jewelry and rare stones and gems, so much so that it kinda consumes all of my attention sometimes. I could talk about the stones I’ve found or the jewels in my collection for hours. That said, I’m not a super social butterfree. I used to be back home, but after some, uh...bad interactions, let’s say, I’ve cooled off a little and am focused more on me and my work. I’ve just come to Arciel, too, so I don’t know anybody. I’ll be the first to admit I’m not super warm to strangers at a glance. I wouldn’t be rude to them but I won’t be real with them, you know what I mean? Who knows, though. Maybe somebody around here is the sort of person who gets what I’m doing and will related to me on a level I’m comfortable with, and we can be friends. That might be nice. They just can’t be smarter than I am. That’s the big thing. If they’re too smart they might notice stuff about me I’d rather keep hush-hush. A woman needs to have her secrets, after all...~ Why are you interested in the class you've chosen? AAll my life, I’ve always been drawn to very shiny things. I got called a Murkrow a lot. I’d ask my parents for jewelry and I’d cover everything I owned with stick-on jewels and my outfits always had to have at least three rings at all--...what? Fine, well, you get the picture. Point is that I still love those things well into adulthood, but it’s more than just wanting to have the shiniest things. A lot of jewels and gems have actual properties in the world! Look at evolutionary stones, those things are gorgeous and incredibly useful! And mega stones? Z-crystals? All of them are big, beautiful gems in their own way. I want to dedicate my life to collecting and studying and using (and keeping) all those beautiful gems. I think it will be a life well spent!~ Why are you interested in training in Arciel? Why not another region? Since I grew up in Kalos, I know there are a lot of regions closer to where I grew up that I could be studying in. But that’s the point. I want to get away and see the world for myself, and even if the language is a little different at times Arceil and Kalos share part of a common tongue! So I’m already a foot-in-the-door so to say! There’s also a vast ecosystem here and plenty of caves and caverns that could be filled with who-knows-what. I would love the chance to explore--maybe find something one-of-a-kind!~ That said...I can’t stand touristy bullshit, so it’s not without its flaws. That’s another reason I left Kalos--you can’t go three steps without bumping into a tourist. Ugh. So maybe Arciel isn’t perfect, but there’s always something to be done to fix that, right? Just a little nudge so it doesn’t become as much of a trap as Kalos has. What do you consider your best attributes? They can be physical, mental, social, or anything else. I’m a lot smarter than people think I am based on appearances. Is it because of the hair? I have a real talent for spotting things others might easily miss, especially if that “thing” is something shiny and valuable. I’ve found a lot of people’s missing keys or watches for them growing up. I can identify most any jewel or gem on appearances alone, too, since I’ve put so much time into studying them! What do you consider your worst attributes? Be honest, now! Alas, when it came to physical strength I’m on the shallow end of the gene pool. I’m about as muscular or tough as most fairy-type pokemon. Think Flabébé. It’s not from lack of trying, either, I’m just cursed to never put on any muscle! I also tend to freeze up if a lot of eyes are on me, especially out in public. I like wearing what I wear around my “office” or at work or out at night when there aren’t a lot of people, but the rest of the time? I’ll stick to far simpler clothes to blend in. I don't like crowds. What was your childhood like? How was school? Look, when you’re from Laverre, everyone wants to be Valerie. She’s the queen. The clothes, the hair, the heels, everything about her makes everyone else look like garbage next to her. So a lot of kids--mostly us girls--were all little fashionista clones of her. I blended in as well as the others because my family had enough money to spoil me when holidays came around. It was definitely easier to get by when you’re pretty and popular and your family has money, but it was boring as hell, and as I got older and grew out-of-love with that scene I found I was stuck. Nobody would want me around except those I merged into when I was young and stupid. So I just needed ways to get out my kind of fun. So I started collecting jewels!~ How is your relationship with your family? It's there, I guess. My mother and father are fine, well-to-do, and still send me a few emails now and then checking up on me. I don’t have any super fond memories of them though. They were always busy and tried to make up for lost time with gifts. It worked, sure, but once I grew up and wanted a life of my own all I can look back on and recall is the stuff they bought for me. That’s doesn’t exactly score well on their parenting test. But at least they weren’t neglectful. What do you like to do for fun? You mean aside from work? Because I find my work very fun! Beyond that I like to read and watch films indoors, make bracelets or earrings either for me or to sell online--it’s nothing big, but some of my designs net me enough for a fancy treat!~ And of course there’s spending time with my baby girl; polishing her jewels, getting her opinion on some of my new “findings”, so on and so forth. I’m also an avid music lover, but I will not sing or dance anywhere I can be seen!! What are your feelings on romance? I don’t. It’s part of the reason I grew out of the “in crowd”. Everyone who was pretty and looked the part was expected to date and score with somebody else in the same social circle, and I just get that glassy glazed-over look whenever a guy or girl starts hitting on me...I like people fine, and I'm still a great cuddler, but anything sexual or romantic makes me want to puke. So my feeling is “no”. Not interested. What are your goals for the future? Short-term and long-term. Short-term I’d like to keep doing as I’m doing. I love my craft and very much would like to expand it into a proper profession! Maybe do something with my jewelry hobby. Ah, but my long-term plans involve some secrets I won’t be sharing with anybody. Nope! Not even for all the shiny stones in the world!...okay, well, not the world, but still, a whole lot of “no”! If you could be a Pokemon, what species or typing would you choose and why? The Laverre City brat in me says “Fairy”, but in truth? Steel. Stainless steel is a blank canvas for beautiful jewels, and is incredibly useful in general! And it cuts through the fairy covered bullcrap I slogged through growing up like a hot knife through butter. Is that too vindictive to say aloud? What do Pokemon mean to you? Huh, this is a tough one. What don’t they mean? Pokemon are tools and pets and friends and partners, sometimes all at once. It’s the purest love in the world; the kind you share with your pokemon. I love my baby girl and cherish her more than anything in the whole wide world. Sure I don’t show every wild or other person’s pokemon that same kind of compassion, but I’m not going to go around kicking random Poochyena or anything like that. Anything else you'd like to tell us about before you go? That necklace you’re wearing is to die for, where did you get it? Is it one-of-a-kind? Ooh, lucky you! Appearance
Height 5’02" / 157cm Build Short and very thin. She prefers being called “lithe”. Hair Color Blonde Eye Color L: Sky Blue / R: Cobalt (Glass) | Senara is a small woman in both stature and size, with enough color to her that she might be mistaken for a Vivillon at a distance. Her hair is mid-back in length and a mass of bright pink and light purple waves, kept occasionally in a ponytail when she’s doing a particularly messy job. She prefers simple but colorful clothes, airing on the side of "cute" rather than professional even when she's working. Never, ever, is she without at least three pieces of jewelry at a time--oftentimes she'll have more--unless she's getting ready for bed. She was born without an eye on the right side of her head--something she is occasionally self-conscious about. She wears a professionally-made glass eye in its place, but has found that accessorizing with an eye-patch suits her general aesthetic better. When she does forego the patch the eye beneath looks close to real her real one in shape, but is slightly the wrong shade of blue. Aura Senara's aura is mostly a brilliant, billowing red--full of all the passion she claims to have--but along her throat and wrists sheen bands of gray, black, and blue, mimicking the jewelry she loves so much. The red flows behind her and around her like a royal mantle, moving with the wind. Although the "mantle" is large, though, it is dimmer than the bands, which glow strong bright--especially when in crowds--enough to "light" the area around her. |
