Team -Alley -Smelter -Toll -Chillar -Amp -Hammerhead
Marley looked out at the collection of pokemon before him. Things had been going pretty well for him so far, but he wasn't simply going to stop there. he wanted his team to be the absolute best they can be, and there were several members of that team that needed a bit of a pick me up. that was why they were here today. Marley had found a nice, secluded spot to set up this little training exercise, bringing the more weaker members of his team along.
They stood before him in a line. There was Alley, his first pokemon, the Zoruo. The girl certainly seemed eager to get to work. Little Hammerhead, the young Gible, was the same way, looking at others in wonder and excitement. Next was Smelter, the Slugma. He was just sitting there, chill and relaxed. Marley figured he would have to whip him into shape most of all. The guy was always a little bit on the lazy side. Then there was Chillar, who was looking around, a little nervous. The poor girl always felt a bit shy around the others. Marley had to fix that, and fix it hard. Amp and Toll, the Magnemite and Bronzor simply...floated there. They didn't seem to have any expression on their faces. It was a little creepy to be honest. But he knew the pair of them had real raw potential in them.
"Ok boys, girls, and the genderly impaired," Marley said, walking back and forth along the line, "You all know why you're all here. I want to turn you all into the biggest team of baddasses around. And for that, we've got to whip all of you into fightin' shape." He turned his attention to Amp, "Amp, you're the strongest of this group, so the others are going to be lookin' up to you. you're their role model this day, so don't let them down." The Magnemite blinked, and then there was a steely gaze in its eye. Nothing like a little responsibility to get someone motivated.
He turned his attention to little Hammerhead. The Gible had been born only recently, but the little guy was showing a good deal of promise. "Now Hammerhead here's new to this time...and to life in general. I want him to work hard, but don't push him too hard. He's a wee one after all." The Gible nodded, though he looked really determined to do make his 'papa' proud. Marley couldn't help but smile. He couldn't be prouder of the little guy.
"Ok then, I want you all to split up into pairs. Spar with eachother for a little bit, show eachother what you all can do." he looked at Alley and Hammerhead, "Alley, you and Hammerhead pair up. I think you'd be the best partner for him. the rest of you, find yerself a partner and get ready to rumble!" The others paused, looking at eachother, trying to work out who to pair up with. Eventually, Smelter and Chillar paired up, while Amp and Toll paired up as well.
Marley took a step back, watching the six of them squaring off, getting ready for a match. An excited smile spread across his face. "Alright guys, FIGHT!"
Marley watched the sparring matches unfold in front of him. Though, to be honest, watching pokemon sparring while he was doing push ups, wasn't the easiest viewing experience. After all, if Marley expected his pokemon to train and get stronger, than it was only fair he would do the same thing as well. Marley never subscribed to the belief that a trainer should simply sit back and do all the work. After all, with all the work Marley does in the mines, it would be stupid to not keep his body up and running.
Meanwhile, his pokemon were getting well into it. Alley and Hammerhead were busy sparring it out, though Marley could tell the Zorua was holding back a little. All Hammerhead could do was swing out at a scratch, while Alley could respond with scratches, pursuits, and the occasional sucker punch. But, the little guy seemed to be really getting into it, much to Marley's relief and happiness.
The duel between Smelter and Chillar was interesting. While Chillar was an ice type, weak against fire, she was also a ground type, which balanced everything out. Figuring her powdered snow attack wouldn't work, she settled with straight up tackling the little lava slug, though the result was some of her hair getting singed. Hmm, perhaps he should have picked a better opponent for her.
Granted, the other two choices would have been creamed by Smelter. Amp and Toll were facing off against eachother, their faces blank as they fired blasts of electricity and psychich energy back and forth against eachother. Marley swore he could almost hear epic background music to what was possibly the most intense stare off ever. Though Marley could tell Toll was starting to faulter. Well, Amp was the stronger of the two after all.
Well, this was certainly a good spot of training, but they should probably stop and take a break before they hurt eachother. "Alright boys and girls, let's take a break," he said, climbing to his feet. The pokemon stopped their little battling and made their way over to themselves. He could see the signs of battle over all of them, except for Alley and Hammerhead, who had taken it easy on eachother. He gave a small, proud smile at his pokemon. "Nice work mates. Yer pullin' yer weight nicely. Now then, you lot take a nice rest, while I figure out what we're going to be doin' next."
The pokemon nodded and moved around the area to relax and chill. Marley sat back, thinking for a moment. Now then, what would he do to train his pokemon further. I mean, there's only so much battling pokemon can do before they get sick and tired of it.
Marley sat on a rock, pondering for a moment as his pokemon rested and recovered from their training. He wanted them to do more, to grow stronger, but fighting wasn't going to do it. They could only do so much. Have them run laps? Eh, too plain. He wanted to make it interesting. Something that they had a goal to work for. Maybe some job he could have them do, something physical and exerting.
And then the idea occurred to him, causing him to slap his forehead. Duh! Why didn't he think of that before? "Ok guys, gather round. I've got an idea for our next step of trainin'." The pokemon broke away from their individual activities to gather around him. It seemed the little rest had done them all good. They were all raring to go. He could only imagine their reaction to his little plan."Now then, yer all goin' to be doin' some mining!"The pokemon paused and blinked. They weren't near Pine Town, so there weren't exactly any mines for them to work at. Granted, pokemon mining wasn't something unusual. Ironton always helped Marley with his work. The question was just, where?
Marley seemed to sense their question, giving a small chuckle. "Relax, I ain't sendin' you all to Pine Town to work. You guys are diggin' up yer own mine. You all just pick a spot, and start diggin'. I know you all can do it."
The pokemon were quiet for a moment, looking around before slowly moving, as a group, to a spot to start digging. Alley and Chillar started digging, their paws digging at the ground. Little Hammerhead got in on it as well, using his little claws to start clawing at the ground. Smelter was quiet for a moment, before starting to pick up rocks with his mouth, slowly moving them out of the way. They, well, left Amp and Toll. None of them had arms, which made digging a little bit of a problem. They hovered in the air, thinking for a moment about what they could possibly do. Then, an idea occured to Amp. Charging up power, the Magnemite launched an electrical blast right at the ground. The other pokemon jumped back as the burst caused dust and rocks to fly up into the air. They stared at him, wishing the Magnemite had given them some warning first. But, well, at least it blasted a small bit out of the ground. Getting an idea of its own, Toll starting using its flat body to push the dirt and debris out of the way, almost like a living, floating bulldozer.
Marley sat back to the side, watching the pokemon getting to work. It had to admit, it was nice to see them so quickly getting together and working. It all looked simple now, but Marley was pretty sure that before long, they would start feeling the burn.
And who knows, they might end up finding something valuable while they're at it.

Marley sat back, watching as his pokemon worked and dug. After a few hiccups in the beginning, the team had started to develop a rather nice rythem when it came to the digging. Alley, Hammerhead and Chillar were the main diggers. Smelter was using his intense heat to almost melt the walls of the hole they were digging, at the very least providing a smoother, more sturdy surface. Marley had to admit, it was kind of creative of the otherwise lazy magma slug. Now and again. Amp would fire off a Thundershock, blasting a small hole to kick up some dirt and rocks. The Magnamite had fallen into a rythem, after almost wearing itself out by blasting repeatedly. Toll, finally, was taking the more tedious job of scooping up the dirt and the rocks and lifting them out of the hole, dumping them to the side. He felt a little bad that it had been regulated to such a job, but then again it did seem best suited for it.
Marley got up from the rock he was sitting on, and strode over to the hole, peering down into it. His pokemon had dug down pretty deep. He couldn't help but be a bit proud of them. Sure, Ironton could dig down much deeper, much faster, but he was a massive Steelix. These were a bunch of pokemon that normally don't dig, so seeing them working like this was really heartening to him. "Nice job mates!" Marley called down to his pokemon, "How are you all feelin'?"His pokemon paused, looking up at him and giving him a small cheer. He could tell they were getting a little tired from their workout, but he was still proud at what they had accomplished. They hadn't managed to find anything in their digging, but at least it was something.
Marley thought now was a good time to call an end to the mining for today. But it was at that point a small idea occured to him, causing him to smile. "Now then, let's get you all out of there and let's head home, shall we?" The pokemon paused, as a realization hit them. They had dug straight down, and as a result, there wasn't an obvious way out. Marley gave a small chuckle. "Alright, I'll wait here, while you all try to think of a way out for you."He sat on the edge of the hole, watching them.
In terms of Amp and Toll, it would be easy. They can float. But the others, well, it wouldn't be so easy. There weren't many handholds, and none of them were built for climbing. Marley sat and watched them as they tried to figure something out. Honestly, the solution came a lot quicker than Marley had expected. Latching onto Amp and Toll, the two floating pokemon would try to carry them and lift them up. Marley chuckled, as he watched the two pokemon straining to carry their partners out of the hole, but they managed to do it. Marley sat back, clapping. "Good job guys, very good job. Especially you two Amp and Toll. Good work, the both of you."
If they were capable of it, the two pokemon would look bashful. Marley chuckled, pulling out their pokeballs."Ok guys, you all earned a good rest. Good job guys."His pokemon gave him a warm smile, before going back into their balls. Well, that was some nice training. Hopefully they all got a good boost from it.
