How would you describe yourself? "Right off the bat, huh? Well, I'd hope that I'm dazzling, given status as a coordinator. I like to control a crowd and get blood pumping! When you have the attention of an audience you feel like you're on fire--in a good way, in a good way!--and I love that more than anything in the world. Except for living things, of course. I'm not so haughty as to believe fame can replace friendships." "I'm, uh, also probably too worried about how others may perceive me? If they have a negative opinion of me I will do almost anything to fix that notion instantly. Because clearly they've got the wrong idea!" "All in all I'm just a people's person. Crowds, friends, Pokemon...I just enjoy them all, and want to see as many of them shine as I can, on the stage or off it!" Why are you interested in the class you've chosen? "Did that last answer not explain it perfectly??" "I live for an audience! When I was younger I watched so many contests both live or on television, and I just wanted to be them so badly...it drove my poor mother up the walls hearing me go on and on about every show and every little detail. Oops? But now that I'm old enough to start my own Pokemon journey I can finally get out here and try my hand at contests myself!!" "I can't wait!!" Why are you interested in training in Arciel? Why not another region? "I grew up here! Of course I'm going to start my long list of contest conquests in my home region! What's the point of growing up in quiet little Cherry Town if I can't be Arciel's first Contest Super Star to come from it?" What do you consider your best attributes? They can be physical, mental, social, or anything else. "My charisma, naturally, is my strongest suit! I can't read people's minds, but I can pick up on social cues with more ease than others. I wouldn't be a good entertainer if I couldn't read a room, right? I'm also in pretty good physical shape. I have to be, what with how many eyes will be on me on the stage." What do you consider your worst attributes? Be honest, now! "I'm not sure I know what you mean...? If there's any trait of mine that I'd consider 'bad', I fix them so they're not 'bad' anymore. That's completely normal, right?" [His worst attribute is his self-esteem. While he has a lot of confidence (and a big ego) all it takes is a chip in the armor to crack him wide open. He's desperate for approval from others to the point of being easily--and stupidly--manipulated should anyone figure him out.] What was your childhood like? How was school? "Cherry Town is very peaceful place, and everyone there knows everyone to some extent. I have a few very close friends there, and since we were always so close with our neighbors everything was very safe and secure and...kind. I would say my childhood was good!" "As for school, oof, I'm not fond of sitting still for so long. I'm so glad I'm old enough to start coordinating." How is your relationship with your family? "My father walked out when I was about...three? I think so. He was a foreigner to Arciel and though my mom doesn't like to talk about him, I've heard the old women in town calling him a lot of rude words for leaving us. With how tight-knit the town is that sort of scandal goes around really fast. Still. She took very good care of us and we weren't ever in so bad a place that we were low on food or the like--it helps that she's a farmer, y'know, growing our own fruits and having our own Miltank for milk. I love her a lot and...I'll miss her on the road." "But she has my number, and I swore I'd call at least once every week. Or she said she'd fly out and drag me back home until I learn my manners! Heheheh." What do you like to do for fun? "I like jogging in my spare time; the adrenaline gives so much release for any stress I've built up during the day. Meditating is also pretty great for stress relief or just relaxing. I also like listening to new languages. Is that weird? Hey, if I'm going to visit other places and keep winning more contests, I'll need to learn Kantonese or Kalosian someday, right? Right!" What are your feelings on romance? "I-I, um, kind of...had a girlfriend? Have a gi...it's really complicated because she's a year and a half younger than me, so she's not old enough to start training, but..." "Her name's Eliza. She moved to Cherry a little into my second year of elementary school and just...scariest girl I'd ever seen, I'll tell you. She's crazy smart and takes nothing from nobody. We started hanging out because she also loved contests and she introduced me to some things I didn't know about...and then a month ago, she asked me out...? I had no idea she even liked me that way. We tried it with this weird clause that once I left, it was on 'pause' until she was old enough to come with me, and if we still wanted to date, we'd...try it for real." [...] "I mean, obviously I really like her, too, so...even though I'm going to be away I'll be keeping in touch. I'll miss her, too. And even if we're not 'together'-together, I'm not going to be looking at anyone else that way." "That'd be real scummy of me." What are your goals for the future? Short-term and long-term. "Long-term is obvious: I want to be Arciel's #1 Super-Star Coordinator! Do I sound like a broken record yet?" "Short-term there's the contests themselves and finding the right Pokemon to suit my style, but there's also a few other things I want to do while I'm out here. I know it's crazy but...Eliza got me into some of these theories about the UB attack, and how there might be more to it than what we know...? I don't know why she was so into it but now I want to learn more about it, too." "...those things, what was seen, though..." "...they're really something, right?" If you could be a Pokemon, what species or typing would you choose and why? "No idea! At all! I've taken a dozen 'what type are you' tests online, too, and none of them are consistent! It's awful! Pfffhahahah. I just want to be something unique and enchanting that captivates the crowd, you know?" What do Pokemon mean to you? "I adore every type of Pokemon for the uniqueness! No two are alike in personality or style or moves, they're all so wonderful! I want to make a team of the best of the best and bring shock and awe to every contest!" "But I want to find something special, you know? Common Pokemon like Rattata or Zubat are...fine, I guess, but there's some absolutely stunning Pokemon out there that few people have seen in person. That's what I want to do: I want to find those Pokemon and I want to bring them to the stage to shine!" Anything else you'd like to tell us about before you go? "I guess not. Height 5'05" /165cm Build Runner's Build; Toned Hair Color Vibrantly Red Eye Color Green | Jamie has a head of shockingly red hair and bright green eyes, a tell-tale sign that he likely has some Galar to him than not. His sense of style is ridiculously flamboyant both in costume and out, favoring eye-catching cuts and plenty of color. If it hurts the eyes to look at for too long he probably has it in his closet back home. On the road he does favor more simple, easier-to-travel-in clothing, but in cities (and ESPECIALLY in contest halls) he's a peacock. Aura You'd think it would be red like his hair, but it's not! His aura coils and curls around him like vines of bright oranges and yellows that bounce and move when he's excited. There's a bit of pink that flickered in and out at times near his chest, particularly when he's feeling, well, his age. |
