How would you describe yourself? Mm... I suppose a wanderer is the word I'd use. Never been comfortable with being in one place. Never been really comfy with the idea of people knowing me either- That's weird to say, isn't it. I mean it like... You'd be uncomfortable if strangers knew things about you too, wouldn't you? I just want to live my life in quiet. See the world. Maybe have a pokemon or two. Settle down in some nice creek... Mm. I sidetracked away from describing why I don't want people to know me, didn't I? Sorry I'm just not good with people. Why are you interested in the class you've chosen? I'm a sort of explorer to begin with... Haven't lived in a single place for years. Coming and going as I please. Living in hovels and stuff. You know, right? You know... Ah. I suppose I also want to know more about the world. It's more interesting than having an office job or anything like that. Why are you interested in training in Arciel? Why not another region? Been to most other places already. It was this or Hoenn, and... Hoenn's got too much water. Not fun to travel around with all that. Prefer this. Easier to go around and stuff when you have solid land to walk on and not... Archipelagos and whatever else Hoenn has. Plus the climate's nicer. What do you consider your best attributes? They can be physical, mental, social, or anything else. ... I'm good on my back. Like, good at carrying things. Traveling around. Good survivalist? I've lived through some bad conditions while out there in the wild. Alright chef too. Can make things taste good that you normally wouldn't eat. Ever had roots? Roots are good. I like them. I know directions pretty good... Alright memorization. Don't need a compass lot of the time, really. Um. I can't like, talk to animals or pokemon, but I think I get along better with them than humans... Or so I think. What do you consider your worst attributes? Be honest, now! You've, uh. Probably noticed I'm not that good at talking to folks based on this whole interview process. Sorry, just... Don't like doing it. Haven't had the chances to, and the chances I've had- It's just not been good. Don't like it. No need to explain further. I'm pretty book smart, but uh. Modern technology escapes me sometimes. Smart fridges and stuff like that, not stuff like computers, ah. Picking up new things can be a little difficult too. Hard to teach an old dog new tricks, that's how the saying goes, right? Um. Not that I'm old... ... I guess I just also look a little dour. People keep asking me why I'm sad when I'm not sad. Is looking sad a bad attribute? What was your childhood like? How was school? Um, it was alright? I guess. Don't have a huge metric, since not a lot of people live around where I did. Small town. Little school. Sometimes we had to take the little plane to go elsewhere if we needed some big supplies, um. Like a new fridge. We got that once, it was cool. One of the highlights. That probably says a lot about how boring and dusty things were. I did alright in school, although I had to leave town to go study a little more... No high school or anything like that. I visited home often enough, though. Um. Stopped after mom and dad... Well. Left. How is your relationship with your family? ... Haven't talked to them. Not because I don't want to, but uh. They aren't around. They aren't dead, I mean! They just. I don't know where they are, right? And um, they aren't the type of folks with phones or computers or stuff, so... I've, uh. They just left one day. After I'd left. And no-one knows where they've gone, so I uh. Look for them. Not why I travel, but I figure it's a good side goal, right? What do you like to do for fun? Like reading. I carry around books and then sell them once I'm done so I can buy new ones. Mm... Making things. Random handcrafts, right? Like, uh. Gathering stuff while walking around and then seeing what I can glue and sew together and stuff like that. But besides that, just traveling is fun? I like walking and climbing. Swimming is good too. Enjoying the silence and the sounds of nature while backpacking up a good few hills and down a slope or two is better than sitting in front of a television... Or so I think. Um. No offense if you like that. What are your feelings on romance? ... ... (ﾉ)ｪ(ヾ)... ... it's okay. I... Haven't had a lot of contact with that stuff. I had a girlfriend or two back in high school, but um. I'm pretty sure everyone has, right? Is that real romance or just something, uh. Performative? I haven't had like... A real, long lasting relationship. That sounds like something that's too... Big for me. Maybe. What are your goals for the future? Short-term and long-term. For the short-term... I want to see everything there is to this region. Um, I'm sure that sounds like a long-term goal, but my long-term goal is to see the whole world, so... It's a big piece, but it's relatively small. Small part of a huge whole. Other short-term goals, um... Maybe make some more friends. I don't have a lot, or. Any. I'd like to learn some new skills, um... Maybe see if I could get some better means of travel than just walking. Like a bike. And I want to find mom and dad at some point. I guess that's the ultimate long term. If you could be a Pokemon, what species or typing would you choose and why? I'd like to be... A water or flying type. I don't really care about the species. Those two have such an easy time going around. Water types can just hop into water and probably make their way across without any issues, and flying types... Being able to fly is like being able to cheat in life. I want that. What do Pokemon mean to you? Pokemon means... A lot, but if I had to choose three specific words, it'd be freedom, potential and friendship. Freedom because they let us do so much we couldn't do alone, um... Uh. This is already falling apart, this three word thing, since I think potential basically covers the same stuff freedom does. But friendship is unique! It's... Different being friends with a pokemon than it is with a human person. Easier. Anything else you'd like to tell us about before you go? ... Thanks for having me. Um. Appearance
Height 6'2" / 189cm Build Muscular, but not to the level of a professional athlete. Hair Color Black Eye Color Blue | Ulysses' bears a deep tan complexion, not quite black but definitely brown. His figure is tall and muscular, although he doesn't match a professional athlete in build. He often hunches, making him appear slightly shorter. He has no scars or piercings, but he does bear some tattoos and body paint over his body, mostly in abstract lines of white. His hair is styled into long braids that reach down his back. Usually he dresses rather loosely in open jackets, large pants, sandals with no socks and so on. In the wilds he even prefers to go completely shirtless, but he of course follows the law and dresses appropriately when required. His expression is often dour, but it doesn't reflect his mood. Aura His aura is a little dim and subdued, but definitely noticeable. Mostly a flare of bright greens and yellows mixing together, it crackles like an open flame. It doesn't exceed the "limits" of his body all too much. |
