Gaki Amabie
Age 19 Birthday January 8th, 2001 Gender Female Pronouns She/Her Orientation Homosexual Faction Freelancer Class Farmer Rank Pooper Scooper Occupation LARPer Hometown Saffron City, Kanto Current Residence Farm in Fuji Town, Arciel | Personality Gaki when you first meet her can come off as quiet and blunt, perhaps even a little aggressive if you peer at her closely for too long, however if you're with her for soon enough you'll learn that's not the case. She's a cautious, but caring girl who shows her affection in odd ways- through attempts to give gifts, blunt compliments and dialogue that sounds like it's straight out of a videogame !Gaki tries her best, really, but real life stuff kinda sucks and she has a lot of trouble expressing herself, that and she has a bit of a short fuse. Being raised on video games and LARPing, she finds a thrill in acting out the parts of different characters that she's created, and often can find it makes for easier interactions with others- and it's almost freeing in a way, being somebody with a less problematic life. Typically she's incredibly comfortable when in a game or in character, and is prone to acting sly or cunning- much like a lot of the characters she plays, and often can slip into jests or jokes when with somebody she's incredibly comfortable with. She can go on about her interests quietly for hours if you let her, though will definately recoil back into herself if one negative thing is spoken about them, and will probably switch to insulting you- she'd incredibly defensive of what she loves and adores, and won't hesitate to let you know how she feels if you dislike her likes or hurt people she's close to. She's very easily agitated or upset, though typically this is in regards to either her hobbies or her games- she's very outward with how she acts, often turning to blunt insults and acting cold when she's mad or pissy- and she can very easily misinterpet a joke the wrong way and be salty about it for a hellishly long amount of time. She also can become very defensive or cold when it comes to situations she'd uncomfortable or awkward with, as she has no idea how to act or react- she has a habit of closing up herself. One of her main weaknesses that instantly get her to react like this would be being around something incredibly girly or cute, she adores cute and pretty things, and has no idea what to do in the presence of these things- not that she'd ever tell you, ack! History Aimi and Etsuji Amabie had everything they could ever had wanted in life- they were rich, succesful, going to the biggest parties, and living their lives to the fullest- everyday was a dream, mingling with rich strangers, going to five star resturants, parties that teenagers could only dream of. The two had been teenage sweethearts and had run away from home spur of the moment, and were loving every second of their young, succesful lives, piggybacking off their rich friends, schmoozing around well-dimed strangers- until suddenly it all came crushing down around them in the form of Gaki. Gaki was a tiny terror, who's yells and screams for basic neccesities caused constant arguments, taking care of her was a task neither were up for- they'd much rather go out for parties and live it up then have to give up their lives for some mistake. It had got to the boiling point a measely five months into young Gaki's life- where a annoyed and restless Aimi had stormed out and never returned. Etsuji was incapable of being able to properly care for Gaki. She was trouble, trouble that despite how much he hated her, refused to get rid of- funny how you come to care for these tiny mistakes. With Aimi gone, he had a lot of trouble keeping up with the bills- all his 'friends' had turned their cheek and left him in the dust, and in one way or another he got held up in the wrong crowd, with the wrong people. Up until the age of five, Gaki was convinced that her life was completely normal. She went with her dad on weird buisness trips, watched as he shook hands with shady looking men and was taught to never interupt daddy when he was working. Days were quiet, so she spent a lot of time by herself- luckily for her, Etsuji often brought in toys of all different shapes and sizes as a way to entertain her- gifts to distract her- she adored playing pretend, piting her teddies against each other in a war for the last cookie, saving the princess from the couch cushion, sure, sometimes she was a little lonely, and she wasn't allowed to be loud too often, but it was her life. Until it wasn't. She'd been in the midst of dropping her rabbit plush off the back of a chair to see if she'd survive the bank heist of the century when there came a knock on their front door- she'd been told many times by her daddy never to touch the door so she didn't, like a good Gaki. Her dad had come out of his office like he usually did, looking well kept and ready for more talks with strangers- but these were different strangers. Strangers in blue, who had a warrent for his arrest. Her life changed in a whirlwind of ways, her father had been arrested for money laundering and extortion and her mother was in no-way contactable. It took them weeks to find further family that Gaki had no idea existed- and in turn who had no idea she existed. Amidst the chaos of trials and court hearings she was taken in by her fathers sister, and things have never quite been the same. Adjusting to her new life was incredibly hard- all she had was practically the clothes off her back, since so much of what she owned had been purchased with illegal money. She was incredibly used to staying quiet and not speaking around adults, especially parental figures- that and the increasing confusion about where her dad had gone had rendered her very soft spoken and withdrawn from her aunt and her cousin, who were practical strangers to her- she constantly wanted her daddy back. Her aunt was constantly busy, working a lot to make ends meet, and so that left her with her cousin Suzuki. At first she was incredibly hesitant being around them, but after she was stumbled upon playing one of her many imagination games Suzuki had come up with an idea- introducing her to video games. It was what initially got Gaki to open up to them- and how she discovered an immense love for playing strange, fictional characters. Even if she was only tiny, she adored video games with a passion! She adopted many of Suzuki's gaming habits, since they were the only reference she had to the hobby- which included, but was not limited to lots of tiny human rage. A lot of her preteen time was spent gaming, always at a console, she got really into MMO's and online games, and would play constantly with Suzuki. She had a big habit for going straight for the tanks, even if she sucked terribly with the class choice and was better playing a stealth role- hard hitting is fun! She had a hard time interacting with most people in class, especially when she was often tucked away playing some game and pushing away and insulting the kids who tried to speak to her- she wasn't used to them and could only handle so much interaction, so why bother even letting them in? Isolated by choice, games and coming home everyday to play with Suzuki was how she lived, she didn't need anything else! When she was about twelve, Suzuki got a boyfriend and spent more time doing raids and playing with him than they did with her, and she despised it. She often went about doing little petty things in attempts to get Suzuki to play with her more, like annoy the ever living hell out of their boyfriend, attempt to ruin their raids, give tiny petty little insults- she was just jealous Suzuki was playing with other people more. She'd grown fairly attatched to them and didn't exactly know how to play properly without them. She took to moping around a lot and attempting to find solo games that'd be easy to play without stupid Suzuki, and took a huge liking to the harvest moon series- it was simple, it was sweet- and it... was cute. The characters were super cute- she adored the pretty dresses she could make- the items she could gift everybody...and the girls were kinda super cute, not that she'd say that out loud. It was around this time that Suzuki- now Sidney, named after their character, discovered their identity. Gaki accepted them whole heartedly, and probably threatened to beat a few companies up because of their gender options in game in an attempt to support Sid... but it was fine! When Gaki was around 14 she got a strange letter in the mail from one of the biggest prisons in Kanto- her father had requested to see her. A man she hadn't seen for 8 or so years, and who she'd forgotten about. Curious, and ready to take on her latest side quest, she snuck out without telling anybody to visit the jail- and her father. It was fun- it was nice. There was many half-hearted sentiments from him, attempts to cozy up to Gaki- to get her to trust and like him, and for a while it had actually worked! She'd been missing her parents for years, and to now suddenly have one in her life? It was a strange experience. She visited a few more times during that year, where her dad'll tell her silly prison stories and she'd share the raids she took part in with Sid and how stupid the other players were- he'd always laugh- he always seemed to listen... then one day he'd asked her if she could do a favour for him- if she could find one of his associates and get him some cash smuggled into the jail- because her poor dad was hungry and they were starving him over here! Gaki wasn't an idiot- she may have trouble in social situations, but she'd taken part in enough evil villain quests to know she was being used, to know what her dad was up to. She all but stormed out of the jail and refused to visit him anymore, hurt, and angry- she'd heard from her aunt and uncle how scummy he was, but she hadn't actually believed them- she still saw him as the dad who gave her toys and everything she could have ever wished for, and Gaki was hurt. If her gaming addiction wasn't bad before, it suddenly got much, much worse. She'd refuse to talk to others and play games for hours upon hours at a time, neglecting sleep to do just one more raid, to go through just another in-game day. She was becoming just like her cousin, in a way, because her cousin was the only influence she'd ever properly known. She wasn't sure how to handle how angry and upset she felt- especially at herself for ever believeing she'd be able to get her dad back. Sid had discovered larping at just the right time, having only just gotten into it, and had managed to get Gaki out of a match for long enough to try a new campaign their group was headlining. Though Gaki was angry, and scared of all the strangers she was unfamiliar with, she grew to adore larping, playing characters with histories that she'd made up, getting to wear pretty clothes and slay make believe bad dudes- wave wands- clash swords- it was what she played out online, but in real life- and she treasured every second of it! She may have changed her class a few times when she stumbled upon a pretty elf princess in a campaign in order to be around her as much as possible and protect her as Ama the Elven Knight! As she got older, she became less obsessed with gaming and more obsessed with LARPing, loving being able to physically act out things and interacting with others who loved the same thing and took it seriously. It was a good thing that she found something other than gaming and something that didn't rely so heavily on Sid to enjoy- mainly because Sid started to becoming increasingly focused on their studies for their future, meanwhile Gaki was just... debating which fangs to use for her next vampire character. When Gaki was sixteen Sid began studying full-time at uni, and obviously Gaki moved with them into their dorms! It was a great time, she'd managed to sneak her way and befriend a variety of people in different larping and roleplaying clubs. There was a lot of pressure from Gaki's school around this time of choosing a career, or figuring out who she wanted to be, but she just kinda... didn't care. Her grades were below average, since she spent most of her time focused on games, or her reality outside of school, and so when it came time to graduate she didn't really have any pathways to explore, anywhere to go from there. Basically piggybacking off Sid as she larped through life. Or at least- that was the plan. Her regular larp group had disbanded because the others had real life things that took priority, and Gaki had no idea what to do or how to handle it- so she took to gaming again. She'd begun to visit her father again too, no matter how much she disliked him or how he treated her, she still see too it to see him- call it daughters guilt, or a want for some kind of villain redemption, she didn't know. It also meant he sent more money to her in the long-run from his prison job- money she was saving up. As her life travelled on and it became incredibly obvious that she was being left in the dirt Gaki decided that she... probably should do something about it. A joke about having a permanant hangout years ago in one of the groups she larped in, and it stood out to her- what if she made some sort of safeplace for larpers- a place they could chill, have fun- maybe romance some NPC's in and carry out some make believe raids... As she dwelled on this, another idea struck! She could live out the games she loved further- do something useful! Harvest moon, her top tier favourite game... what if she did some in real life version of it- what if she created a place for larpers to hang out- what if she could profit off of what she loved? To further get her idea off the track, she saw an advertisement in the middle of binging videos on faring about the free farms offered to beginner farmers in Arciel... Boom- pow. Suddenly she was looking to her cousin for help formulating plans on this huge-scale idea she had planned. Gaki could create a farm- but she wasn't going to be a borning NPC farmer- no. She was going to create a magical farm, something that was themed, that drew people in- and where she could live out her Harvest Moon fantasies. She'd used money her dad had been paying through the jail system- a form of child support- to pay for her spur of the moment idea- too stubburn to back down, and set on creating something that would be great. She was going to build something huge- something great. Something worth remembering- like an in real life save point. Maybe she had trouble seeing real life for what it really was- reality. And maybe she struggles to interact socially with most people without pushing them away, but that doesn't change what she wants to achieve through doing what she loves. And opening up her farm, getting a pokemon who can help her run it and be a gatekeeper? Is where it all begins. Goals Her main goal is to have her larp farm be able to help grow the community of larpers in Arciel and work as a sort of second home for them- or at least have it be succesful. Other miniature goals include expanding her relationships with NPC's (other people in Arciel) and learning to not push them away when they speak to her, which will probably involve giving them gifts- that's how upping relationship levels works, right? There's also her goal of redeeming her father and getting him to be a decent guy, though she has fairly low hopes for this. |
Appearance
Height 5'4" / 162cm Build Dainty Hair Color Silvery Blue Eye Color Lime | With long, silve-blue hair and eyes that could intrigue even the most dull of students, for sakes of appearances Gaki looks like the type of girl who could have been super popular in highschool- though if you look closer that's far from the case. Her skin is pale from lack of sunlight and her eyebags and prominent from lack of sleep, her hair is almost constantly messily thrown back into some kind of bun, or angled tendrils are pinned back from her face with large, eccentric hairpins and only every properly brushed when she's going to a LARP event. Often she attempts to hide how tired she looks by temporary face stickers, which draw attention away from how she actually looks- though if they were ever pointed out Gaki'd get upset and defensive. She thinks the stickers are cute, and they get the job done- who cares if they look weird?! Typically when out of her farm Gaki is either in some kind of LARP costume, which can vary from wizarding robes to steampunk fashion, gothic looks and even pastel princess armour, or she might be found doing a quick food run or watering her crops late at night in what she typically wears around where she lives- oversized and comfy slacks that probably haven't been changed for days and cute, pink fuzzy slippers with huge googly eyes on them. Aura Her Aura is sparky, with lime green and soft blue sparks exploading outwards from a cyan core, never settling, never calming down. Every so often there's a few small grey ones that pop forward, and when they do the other colours all die down. |
