Sid enjoyed Birch City. There was quite a lot to see and do in the city, and while they liked Fuji Town well enough, they could see why people chose this as the start of their journey. There was just so much more to see and do and—shop. So much to shop. So so so so so much to shop. Look at these sales? These bargains???? Lord Ho-oh, there was so much! They had to be careful, of course, not to spend too much money too quickly, but … but still! They loved it.
They had bene in a department store debating over buying some very unique fabric when a conversation behind them caught their attention. Apparently, the new ice-skating rink was open just in time for the later fall early winter season! And the first thing that came to Sid’s mind was: I could do a photoshoot there… A cosplay photoshoot. They had to plan it, had to decide what they were going to wear and not wear, but when it was all said and done, they were happy with their choice of a deep blue leotard with long flowy white whips coming off. They’d braided their hair back in a very recognizable way and added blue contacts to make their eyes less red and vaguely more purple in color.
They took their time around the rink setting up some cameras on a push button timer execute and then slowly got out onto the rink. Skating towards a group and explaining what they planned to do, they were immediately recognized as a prince-like Elsa and even got a hug and a photo from it. They did the same for others before coming towards the last. “Ah, hello, I wanted to let you know I’m shooting pictures from the side,” they stated pointing them out. “If you don’t want to be in them, just let me know, and I can delete those.”
The plan had been to ice skate that day to just forget about everything that was bothering him. Koray hadn't been ice skating in a while, but it only took a few laps around the rink to get back into the rhythm. Ice skating might not be one of the dances that he excelled at per say, but it was still an art form that he enjoyed. A few spins here, a leap there... oops, he stumbled on that one. Still, it was better than he had expected to do after being so rusty.
Koray had just managed to get a leap down when someone in what looked to be a remarkably spot on costume of Elsa... well, if Elsa was a prince. It actually sounded pretty cool. Hazel eyes scanned the costume before a small smile appeared on his features, "Hmm, too bad. If I'd have known I would've worn one of my old dance costumes," Koray shrugged. While it sounded like fun, the last time he'd dressed up like Prince Elsa had been the ball and well, that hadn't been near as elegant looking as the attire this man wore.
"Looks like fun though, I don't mind~," Koray mused, almost wishing that he'd had a heads up prior to this. If he had, maybe he would have a chance to join in.
A pause. Sid’s lips parted, closed, and then curled up subtly. “You would make for a decent Jack Frost,” they laughed softly. “But thank you.” And with that, they skated back slowly and started over towards the cameras again. What Koray might have noticed, though, was the subtle shift of their hips and knees as they moved. They weren’t near as graceful as they wanted to appear then, but it was good enough for photos as far as they were concerned.
A flash went off here, there, and they posed a couple of times: once with their arms back out, fingers extended, once with their arms folded and a smooth smile on their features, and once with their arms thrust out like they were raising the ice. A few pictures snapped, and after a moment, they started to skate over towards the exit to go check the photos— only to be immediately bumped into by a few kids of the junior hockey league, that very quickly knocked them over.
Koray had to laugh at the man's return and ran a hand through his hair. "Jack Frost hmm? I think I'd fit Viktor Nikiforov better though~," he quipped back, grinning just a little back before wishing them a fun photoshoot. The prince's stance however made him think that he might be a little newer when it came to ice skating that he pretended to be.
Regardless, Koray would continue to skate, even posing a little when the camera happened to point his way. It was all in good fun, and he enjoyed seeing the different poses the prince came up with. After a few moments, he was able to get back into the zone again and did a few more spins and leaps. With the cameras there, Koray was wishing that he'd thought to wear one of his warmer dance outfits. It would have been a lot easier to move with it on.
After finishing a few more spins and other maneuvers, Koray turned just in time to see the prince get knocked over by a junior hockey league. Using the momentum he'd gained from the last jump, he skated over to the prince and quickly moved to help him up. "Are you alright? That was quite the fall..." Koray asked softly, hoping that the stranger was still ok.
OOOOWWWWWWWW— Yeah, yeah. That was their hip and their back and their arm and their body being totaled. Sid winced as they lay on the ice half up on their elbows and half flat out on said ice. The kids were quick to squeak and blame one another, but Sid wasn’t looking at them now. Their eyes had raised to the person who had claimed himself to be a better Victor than Jack.
“The gravity of the situation became too much to bear….” they answered shifting slightly to one side and swinging a hand up to clasp his before slowly leaning forward and standing abet a little more shakily than before. “I’m ok, I think.” A few extra bumps and bruises than before (and they would most definitely bruise), but they weren’t about to make a stink about it. “Be a little more careful next time, kids,” they called briefly. There was a quick assurance that they would before Sid turned back to Koray again. “Elsa being helped by Victor… a strange fanfiction…” they mumbled to themselves.
The reply he received wasn't at all what Koray expected to hear and he couldn't help the small chuckle that escaped him at that. Regardless, he would help the prince to his feet with ease, looking a little concerned at the vague reply given. "Are you sure?" Koray asked again, not quite convinced that the prince was alright. A quick glance at the kids had them scurrying away after the prince asked them to be more careful. Heh, how fitting to the character the man was portraying right then and there.
Koray opened his mouth to ask if he wanted help leaving the rink when he heard the next comment about the strange fanfiction of Elsa and Viktor. This time he didn't even try hiding the laughter that bubbled up at the thought of it. "Yes, I suppose so~," Koray mused, laughing more, "You caught me, I'm the undercover Viktor but shhh, you musn't reveal my secret identity. Koray's my name... at least for now~," he continued, having more fun with this than he thought. A wink would be given at the 'secret' of sorts before he looked over to the side railing. It.. might be better to talk there out of the way of the other skaters.
"Do you want to get off the ice? Or... at least move to the side and rest for a time." Either option was fine with Koray but he just wanted to make sure that the prince would be alright.
The laughter that escaped from the other person had Sid blinking a few times slowly. Hm. Koray was not as fancy a name as Viktor, but it wasn’t as on the nose about his place in the story either. They wondered what it meant, but their phone along with their other belongings were stashed away in a locker for now. Any bulge would mess up the pictures, after all. “Call me Elsa or Sid,” they answered back.
Their eyes followed his motion to the exterior of the rink, and a small sigh escaped from them. They were ready to get off the rink for a while and maybe ice their hip and knee— not with rink ice, mind you, like actual ice. The question after had them looking back to Koray. “Yes, I’d like to sit down and look through my photos,” they answered. An awkward pause. “Would you mind helping me over there. I can’t afford to fall again.” Not like they had.
Judging by the prince's reactions they had missed the fact that Koray had been teasing earlier but oh well, at least it got him their name. A nod would be given at that and Koray smiled, "Prince Sid it is~," he mused, wishing once again that he had thought to wear one of his fancier outfits. Compared to Sid, he looked so... plain. Ah well, maybe he could ask if the prince had other outfits he could borrow for the time being if they felt up to it later.
As Sid agreed to get off the ice for a while, Koray nodded and took Sid's hands in his, opting to skate backwards for now. It was easy enough for him to do after all. "I'd be delighted to, my prince~. Or should I say king?" Koray mused, grinning at the thought of helping royalty off the ice regardless. "There's an area to the side of the rink where we can sit or the main lobby area. Which do you prefer?" Both areas were just as close after all, but he would move in the direction of whichever Sid would prefer.
A soft laugh escaped from Sid at the question. “I fled my coronation to spend time out among the people,” they answered, their voice lowering into a smoother tone. “So as it stands I am still a prince.” Their eyes flickerd around at the question, though. They’d rather not leave the rink just yet considering all their cameras were still set up, and they needed to retrieve them still so. “On the bleachers at the side is fine,” they answered.
Once they were moving that way, Sid slowly closed their eyes and hummed. Let it go, let it go, “Can’t hold me back anymore”— Their voice came in low tones then their lips began to move with it. “Let it go, let it go, turn away and slam the door… I don’t care what they’re going to say, let the storm rage on, the cold never bothered me anyway…” They laughed a little opening their eyes again and smiling at Koray as they came to the side. Stepping off the ice was a relief, and they easily moved to sit down for a moment carefully unlacing their skates and letting their feet breathe.
At the response about fleeing from his coronation, Koray chuckled in response and nodded, "I see~, I suppose that's noble of you to consider the masses before making such a big decision," he mused, gracefully skating backwards as Sid began to sing. He was admittedly a little surprised, but began singing along as he realized how fitting the song was at the moment.
"Let it go~, let it go~.." Koray chimed in, letting his back hit the wall as they finally reached the bleachers. It took a little bit of fumbling to open the latch, but it was easy enough to do so without looking at it. He'd done this several times before after all, even if it had been a fair amount of time. "Here we are, nice and easy~," Koray mused softly, sitting next to Sid after a bit.
A glance to the main area reassured Koray that his pokemon and eggs seemed to be alright. Rowan could always come over in case one of the eggs were in distress but Elanor was certainly enjoying spending her time taking care of the eggs. That was good~.
A soft smile pulled across Sid’s face as Koray chimed in. Viktor would make an interesting sate routine out of Let It Go, I’d imagine…. Maybe even have Yuri or Yurio present it. Too bad there wasn’t another around to fill the role. Another time, perhaps.
Once they had eased out of their skates, Sid let out a soft breath. “I hope one of those pictures is good at least…” they murmured to themselves. They wanted to get back up immediately and go check them, but now having sat down that was a little hard. Their eyes flicked sideways to the Viktor of the hour. “Viktor, would you do me a favor?” they asked. “I have three cameras over there that I need to take a look at… and my gym bag is over there,” they made hand gestures to where each was before pointing out where the gym bag had been stowed away under the lockers rather than inside of them. Even from there Koray might have seen how large it was. “I would… but sitting down is rather comfortable right now…” A small laugh escaped from them.
Singing the well known song was pretty fun actually, or at least it seemed that Prince Sid was having just as much fun as Koray was. That was good. Sitting for a short time was actually a bit of a relief considering the level of activity he'd been doing before rescuing the prince. Hehehe, how ironic that he'd been the one to rescue a prince. It was usually the other way around, wasn't it? The initial comment had Koray smiling easily, nodding, "From what I saw, it looked like you had some decent ones. Looked like a lot of fun, actually~," he stated, hoping it would be at least a little reassuring.
Koray didn't respond right away to the use of 'Viktor,' at least not until he remembered that was the role he'd sort of slipped into. Right. He was being asked to get the cameras from the gym bag. Seemed easy enough, but the bag was certainly pretty big.... Might be a little difficult to carry across the ice. Oh well, he'd try and make it work. It would give him a chance to check on Elanor and the eggs as well. Rowan was staying near her to make sure she didn't get too lonely, but with how motherly the Litwick was, he doubted it would be a problem.
"Sure~, do you want to see a few tricks before I head over? I'm a bit rusty, admittedly, but it's still fun~," Koray mused, standing up and stretching a bit before stepping out onto the ice.
A small laugh came and went from Sid. “It’s the camera’s decision at the end of the day,” they answered reaching back and feeling through their hair slowly. “Any amount of prep or prop will be weakened by the overall quality of the shot.” Granted that was why they had spent so much money on cameras, but they digressed.
The question, had them blinking briefly before smiling. “Of course I’d love to see what Viktor Nikiforov can do…” they answered with a slightly lighter voice. “Though… do be careful. That ice is hard.” As they themselves knew at that point. They had kind of expected him to go around the long way to get the stuff, but if he wanted to skate, who were they to stop him? Sitting back, they reached for their phone and then sighed on remembering it wasn’t there. Any budge in their clothing wasn’t to be tolerated during a camera shoot, after all.
Koray smirked a little at the return laugh and nodded at the comments. Yeah, that was true enough he supposed, he didn't know much about photography, but he was able to appreciate the art for what it was. It was impressive what anyone could do with a camera and a good eye after all. He was actually pretty eager to see what the pictures looked like too, but decided to extend the offer to show off first.
Sid agreed that he'd like to see what 'Viktor' could do and Koray couldn't help but grin, chuckling at the comment about ice being hard. "I'll keep that in mind~," he mused, skating backwards for a bit before turning to pick up speed. Weaving in and out between the kids made picking up speed just a little more difficult than it should have been, but Koray managed well enough. After gaining enough speed, he was able to perform a few jumps and spins with even a few of the skaters applauding him. What they wouldn't know was how clumsy his footing had been. Koray had felt his foot slip a few times and was only able to just barely keep from sliding too much on the ice. He recovered quickly enough and managed to mask it rather well, but couldn't be sure if it was the skates or the rink at this time.
It didn't take too much time to do a few tricks around the rink before going to the main lobby area. Stepping off the ice was always a little harder, especially given the blades on mats, but Koray was able to make his way over to Rowan and Elanor. The two ghosts were happy to see him and after checking the eggs, went to retrieve the gym bag. Oof, it was heavier than he thought it would be but it was doable. He'd just have to skate over to Sid pretty slowly. Well, between that and making sure none of the kids ran into him, it felt like Koray was running an obstacle course with who knew how many expensive things in the gym bag.
When he finally did make it to the bleachers, Koray was more than a little relieved that he'd made it. "Geez, those kids really don't watch where they're going..." Koray grumbled, sitting down and placing the gym bag on the bleacher by Sid. At least he'd made it though, that was something.
Watching as Koray moved onto the ice again, Sid leaned forward and set their elbows on their knees and their head on their fists. He certainly made all those motions look easy even though Sid was well aware they were not. The first job, though, had their lips parting in awe. The second had them sitting back. The spin that came after had them sitting up and smiling wide. He was skilled, very skilled. As he exited the rink, they sat back slowly. How interesting… Too bad he wasn’t dressed for the occasion.
As Koray returned with the bag in hand, Sid shifted and let it be sat next to them. “Thanks,” they murmured before looking out towards where the cameras were positioned. They assumed he was going out to get them again, but for now they were fishing through their bag for their phone. Ah, here we go. Twenty missed texts? Ah no that was just someone blowing up their Distortion. Fair enough. “Smile…” they stated raising the phone suddenly to snap a picture of Koray with it.
Koray smiled when Sid thanked him and nodded easily, it hadn't been that much of a problem after all and it was nice to be able to show off a bit. "Sure, no problem~," the gym bag had been a bit more bulky than the cameras so he thought it would be easier to bring that over first then grab the cameras next. Unless...
The sudden request to smile had Koray blinking again, "Huh?" And suddenly there was a flash in their face and he...probably looked terrible in that shot. "C'mon man, give a guy some warning," Koray laughed, getting ready to stand up to maybe grab a camera or two. "Hey, you don't happen to have a spare outfit in there, do you? It might be fun to do some shots together. You know, as Prince Sid and Viktor. Could even give you some lessons if you're up to it?" It sounded like it'd be something fun, certainly.
Meanwhile, Elanor squeaked in alarm as one of the eggs started to glow bright. Rowan shot off like a bullet towards Koray who immediately looked over when he felt the Phantump's alarm before he saw him. "...seems one of the eggs I have might be hatching. Rowan, it's alright. Just, go back and help Elanor keep the little one calm, ok? I'll be there as soon as I can." Maybe he should've brought his things back with him. Elanor would've been happier being closer to him after all. Turning to Sid, he smiled, "Do you want to come with? I can carry your bag for you if you want me to."
A soft chuckle escaped from Sid at the sudden rebuke. “Now, now, Viktor, you look nice from any angle,” they chided softly back. The question, though, had Sid looking thoughtful. Hm. Their eyes raised and flicked over Koray and then to their bag. “You’re a bit too tall to fit my clothes,” they commented briefly before turning to shuffle through their belongings anyways.
Their attention was pulled up, however, at the mention of eggs. Oh? “Trainers these days, always caring eggs everywhere….” Sid murmured under their breath before slowly starting to get up. Even into cold places unfit for hatching…. Then again, depending on its Typing if the egg, it could be just as happy to hatch there than anywhere else. Slowly standing up, Sid stretched stiffly. “I’ll come with if you can carry my bag…” they answered with a small hum. “Outside of character, I’m a Pokemon nurse, so seeing to young Pokemon is always a treat.” They offered a small smile at that before heading towards the ice. They’d be alright, they’d just go slow.
Koray rolled his eyes at the mildly scolding words that were returned but smiled regardless. He was curious what Sid had to say about dressing up but only sighed when the prince stated that he was probably too big to fit in whatever clothes they had. "Too bad I don't live closer..." Koray mumbled, wondering absently if there were any stores that had some sort of ready made costumes in his size. But the best costumes are always handmade... Hhh, that was too bad.
At the comment about the eggs, Koray chuckled sheepishly, "I guess? I mean, my Litwick's with them..." he stated weakly, already shouldering Sid's bag for them. "Yeah, no problem. Do you want to hold onto my arm? I could escort you to the eggs~," he continued, holding out an arm while adjusting the gym bag. The news that Sid was actually a pokemon nurse was a surprise, but given the situation and Elanor's escalating panic, it was probably a good thing he ran into Sid.
"That's really neat~, I'm a chef but... one of my friends happens to be a breeder and... well, you'll see," Koray stated, offering an arm to Sid once they were on the ice. He would cross slowly, making sure that the prince didn't fall again but it was clear where the commotion was coming from as Rowan was practically screaming in Koray's head by that time. Nevermind the quiet cries coming from a pile of blankets as a panicked Solosis tried to break free from them. Poor Elanor was trying to remain calm but some of the other eggs were shaking pretty badly now too which wasn't helping.
"O-oh... dear, it looks like one of the eggs hatched after all..." Koray stated, dropping Sid's arm once they were off the ice. It was a little harder to walk off the ice, but for Elanor's sake he was trying to get to her as fast as he could, trying not to let his Pokemons' panic affect his attitude towards the hatchling too. "Shh, shh, it's alright, hey little one... I got you, I got you, there you are~, see, there's nothing to worry about little one~," The Solosis was quickly freed from the blankets and held to Koray's chest which stilled the sobbing long enough for Elanor to calm down while Rowan patted her back, it was ok, Koray was back and everything would be just fine.
A small laugh escaped from Sid, and a shake of head was given. “I’ll be alright,” they answered. Balancing on someone else always ran the risk of taking them down with you when you fell or them falling and taking you down with them— neither of which Sid wanted right then and there. And touching people wasn’t exactly their thing without gloves. “Thanks, though.” They laced up their skates again and then stood once more. They weren’t keen on getting back on the ice just yet, but that was fine.
Sid moved very carefully on the ice, that shift in their hips and legs being just subtle enough to get them going and moving. Getting back over was easy enough. At the mention of occupation and then friend’s occupation, it clicked in Sid’s mind. “I see,” they answered. As they got to the other side, they were already unlacing their skates again and walking over to the Pokemon. As their bag was set down, they bent over and opened it fishing around for their things and pulling out a medical kit. A pair of said gloves were pulled on in the meantime, and they moved to assess the other eggs in this clutch. Mmmmmmm….

In hindsight, Koray probably should have taken their skates off once they got off the ice, but he was more concerned about Elanor's rising panic than he was his own comfort right then and there. The Solosis was calmed relatively quickly but then she was just as quick to start trying to get out of Koray's arms too. It was all he could do to hold onto the slippery little one as she struggled, wanting to see what all the commotion was about. "Hey, hey there little Maia, yes, that's your name. Look, your friends are about to hatch~," Koray cooed, thankful that had calmed the Solosis down somewhat.
Seeing Sid pull out a medical kit, Koray eyed the eggs that suddenly glowed very bright and... weren't eggs any longer. Elanor let out a startled squeak and slid closer to the now solitary egg surrounded by a small Litten and tiny adorable Eevee. The Solosis seemed to enjoy seeing a couple new hatchlings and cheered, jumping out of Koray's arms to greet them. But there was still one left that hadn't hatched yet... was there something wrong with that one? Hopefully not.
The Litten and Eevee immediately buried themselves in the blankets, surprised by the amount of Pokemon and people around them after hatching. They knew Koray and were looking to him now but... there were so many other people around... Koray held out a hand to them, offering both pets in turn. "Hey there little ones, it's ok, it's just the ice rink..." At least that seemed to calm them down, maybe? "How about... Cadi and Morwen hmm? You like those names?" The two cooed in unison, still shaking a little from fear but... well, what more could he do?
