It was another lovely day in Arciel and despite the winter chill in the air, Elizabeth and her gaggle of pokemon were out and about not ones to shy away from a little cold. This time of year was always a favorite for Liz. That transition from hot summer days to snowy winter hibernation seemed to energize the girl. Though autumn was fading fast and she wanted to enjoy these last few days of colorful leaves, spooky fun and family harvests. Of course one of the absolute best things about fall was the weather was pretty much just perfect for training. It was at this time of year with that slight little nip to it that really charged up her pokemon. One could almost train the entire day away without breaking a sweat but not get too chilled either.
And thus everyone found themselves outside the city of Birch for a bit of training fun. With the recent changes in her life, Liz and her pokemon had started to grow a bit complacent. Plus due to the pokemon importation laws, many of her pokemon had been stuck in extended stasis for longer than she'd like. Of course though the 'experts' claimed that the PC system and pokeballs were just fine for pokemon to spend extended lengths of time in, Liz was a bit skeptical and having been raised on a farm, believed pokemon needed fresh air and plenty of exercise to truly thrive. And if she and her team were going to be helpful rangers to the people of Arciel, they needed to be on top of their game and in peak condition.
Today Liz had donned her blue gray cargo pants, combat boots, a charcoal gray steelix shirt, and a light windbreaker plus a pair of black gloves and a black military style cap. She didn't dress too warmly knowing that they'd be plenty warm with their work out. The girl found the local training grounds which seemed quiet this morning and picked out a wide open spot where they'd have plenty of room to maneuver. For now they'd start off slow and simple. Getting used to a new region, working out those stasis muscles and getting Damara acclimated to the group were the primary goals for today's session.
The girl pulled her shoulder length, light brown hair back into a short ponytail then plucked her pokeballs from her belt. One, two, three, four, five, and out popped all her pokemon. She was a little saddened by the thought that several more were still waiting in stasis to be cleared for import, especially her first starter and closest companion Tansy the venusaur, it was nice to have the few she did have with her now. Growing up as an only child, she'd spent a lot of time on her own. Even with the few ranch pokemon her parents had the relationship was quite different with them than with her own pokemon. She now quite missed having them all underfoot.
However, today was about the five with her now. Raya the lucario, Ayla the tropius, Loki the mismagius, Cecylia the pikachu, and Damara the rowlet, each one different and unique in their own way. Liz released them onto the field, greeting them all with a smile. "Good morning all! So, I know you guys want to get back out on the road some but first I want to get us all back up to speed. We're in a new region, we're not sure what kinds of trainers and pokemon we'll be facing along the way, so I want us all to be at our best before heading on patrol."
Liz grinned at her group, mentally connecting with them all. It was different maintaining the psychic connection on her own, but her skill was growing. It would be easier the more she worked at it and she fully intended to get stronger both mentally and physically. While she'd maintained a daily meditation and martial routine, she hadn't been pushing herself like she should. This training session would be as much for herself as the others. Liz crossed her arms and looked the group over sizing each one up. Working in pairs was always a good starting point. Even though they were an uneven number, Liz wasn't one to sit on the sidelines.
"Okay, Loki, you and Cecylia pair up. I know she won't let you get away with anything. Damara and Ayla, let's have you two work on your grass moves together. Raya we'll work on our fighting form alright?" Liz instructed, trying to lay things out in an orderly fashion. Cecylia chuu'd and flicked an ear in Loki's direction, a small smirk forming on the pikachu's face. Even though Cecylia was blind, she had several means of compensating for it and at times it was quite helpful for ignoring distractions, which was pretty much all Loki was. The mismagius rolled his eyes and made a face. Loki had always been a bit of a nuisance, but he'd been much worse when Liz and he'd first met. Evolving hadn't put any damper on his mischevious antics however.
