It was actually a decent winters day today, not too cold and good enough to just... slip on a jacket and do literally whatever. Pedaling down route two, on her newly spray painted bike Arietta was on her way home, back to Bass. Back to the dance studio where she could just chill. Like a stupid teen, she had her headphones plugged in, listening to some cute pop song about falling in love- because what else would Arietta Ostinato listen to?
She'd only recently learned to tame this strange, metal machine, so she was going slow. Slow enough to get a gauge on what she was doing and so she didn't end up falling off the bike and right into the harsh ground below- hell her elbow still ahces form her nasty fall earlier in the week.
For once, she didn't have any of her pokemon out. She was scared that if she lost balance she'd hurt them, and so they were safely tucked away in her bag. Now that Arietta actually knew what she was doing with the bike the riding could almost be seen as calming, therapeutic. It was good- a good distraction.

Everything was going smoothly, she was pedaling to the music, hair whipping behind her and threatening to slap whoever got in her path. She ddn't know why she was so scared to try this to begin with! Who needed a dad to teach her to ride a bike, or a mum to teach her to brush her hair- she learnt it all herself! Ariettas dislike for her parents was bike, and her willingness to learn things thay were typically supposed to be taught form parent to child was slowly growing. Who needed parents- not Arietta.
She was successful without them! Just look at her ride-
A screech left her lips as pokemon appeared in her path, they were just coloured blurs at that point but it but they weren't moving, and she found herself desperately trying to slam on the breaks and veer off the path, only resulting in her flying right off the bike and into the harsh ground. Arceus fuck- that hurt so bad?! Arietta let out a soft whine, pulling up to rub at her head-
That was... probably going to bruise. Unfortunately, helmets? Nobody ever told her how important they were. Good on you, Arietta. The girl dazedly blinked, glancing around for a moment, only to see the two mons who had blocked her path warily walking over towards the crash sight- tweedle dee, and tweedle dum. A Mudkip and Buizal, who appeared to be friends approached her, the Buizel seemed to be hiding behind the Mudkip slightly.
"You two..." Arietta mumbled, squinting at them for a moment, she attempted to push herself upwards but an aching in her side sent her back to the ground. The pokemon eventually neared her and let out curious cries, blinking at her- who was this stranger who just... went flying?!
Arietta blinked at them for a few seconds, trying to think of what to do. Her body ached from the tumble but... she'd have to get up soon- and the more these pokemon stared at her the more uncomfortable she got- still! The girl forced a smile, pushing a hand through her hair. "You're actually kinda cute when you're not terrorizing me."
They blinked up at her again, and Arietta let out a soft sigh. She moved to rummage through her bag and pulled out her great balls. "...do..you two wanna come for a ride?"

Oh! It seemed the Mudkip was interested! He practically nuzzled the ball when he saw it, letting out an excited cry while looking up at Arietta- while the Buizel just sent him a dirty look and ran off. That was a little disappointing- but she had a Mudkip who seemed eager for a ride now! But now came the problem of... how was she supposed to ride a bike with a 40cm Mudkip. She couldn't just have the cute little dude in her lap, he'd fall right off! She couldn't really... shove him down her hoodie with his head poking out, because as safe as it was Arietta wouldn't be able to see!
But... her bag... Arietta took a deep breath and finally got up, moving to grab her bag and hoping the little dude followed. "Okay! So you're gonna ride in my bag, buddy! Keep your little head poked out and just watch the world around you!" She helped him get in the bag and very gently shrugged it on her back, giggling at the excited cry the Mudkip made.
This would be good- hopefully! She moved to righten her bag and get back on the bike now.

Everything was going great! Arietta was pedalling down the route, wind in her hair while the Mudkip let out excited whoops and squeaks the more she rode- at one point he whined, wanting her to pick up speed... and how could Arietta refuse such a simple request?! She took a deep breath and moved to pedal faster, and instant felt uncomfortable. She wasn't good at controlling this! The balance was wonky, and she breeze hitting her face really quick felt like it would blow her off the bike at any given second.
Still, she kept riding. The Mudkip was practically cheering from the bag and she couldn't dare stop now, forwards- forwards- and a kid seemed to be attempted to cross the path, and he was coming closer and closer at an alarming rate- holy fuck- no no no- "MOVE KID!" Arietta's voice was loud, and the kid, instead of continuing to walk, stood still at her voice, startled, right in the center of the path.
Arietta yanked her handlebars left just in time to avoid the kid, however said kid had dived right into the dirt to avoid her, letting out a loud cry- shit he was crying! Arietta attempted to slam harshly on the breaks, veering to a stop and almost very well falling over again- thank arceus she didn't. Quickly pulling her bike up at a tree and rushing over to the kid she went to check if he was okay.
"U-Uhm, i'm so sorry! Are you okay- is there anything I can do?!" The kid coughed, moving to sit up, staring at her. "...You're not really sorry- who rides that fast down a route like this anyway?" As he spoke, the mudkip in her bag let out an excited cry, as if to demonstrate that it was because of him! The boy though, didn't care. "If you're really sorry, show me in a battle."
A... battle. Arceus, Arietta was terrible at battling! She was meant to dazzle crowds, not throw down with little kids who she could have very well put in a hospital, but... fine. This would make everything okay and then she could carry on, right? Arietta nodded her head then, "I'll prove it then! Get your mons, and i'll grab mine."
She shifted her bag off her back and gently Aiding Mudkip out of the bag, sending him to rest and watch over the bike before choosing three of her pokeballs- right... now for the hard bit. The kid first sent out a Maractus, looking determined to show Arietta his stuff, which Arietta sent out her Rowlett, Adagio. Said bird seemed confused as to why she was released, at least until she noticed the kids battle stance- oh- okay! An excited chirp left her lips and she flapped her wings, ready for this!
"Ada, growl!" lowering attack stat first was the way to go, right? A soft, yet low growl left Adagio's beak as she stared straight at the Maractus, who let out a soft whine, glancing from their trainer back to Adagio uncertainly. "Mega Drain, Mara!" the trainer called back, and the Maractus practically threw himself at Adagio, draining her. Adagio let out a startled choking noise and flapped her wings frantically, as if trying to make the Maractus stop. Shit- okay. That was a bad move. "Ada, astonish now!" Adagio moved forward, throwing out a wing slightly- and hit Maractus without touching him, and-
i5n5PcJ0p_
"Maractus, peck!" the Maracus didn't flinch, and dove forward with a peck. Arietta had hope for Adagio though, who was hanging in there! Surely it wouldn't take much longer, the opponents attacks were weak because of the growl, after all. "Daggie, leafage! And make it big!"Adagio let out a soft coo, moving her wings outwards and staring right at the Maractus, before a barrage of sharp leaves were directed right at the Maracus, who stumbled back with a cry, eyes wide. He was looking back between Arietta and his trainer now- a turn tops, maybe? Arietta wasn't very good at this... what even was Maractus weak to!?
It took a few more rounds, but after throwing down another astonish, making Maractus flinch and finishing it off with a tackle the Maractus was down for the count. The boy was hesitant to send in any more mons, though, staring at Arietta with wide eyes. "Y...You've proved your point- I don't feel the pain anymore anyway..." and, with a huff, he bolted off.
A loud sigh left Arietta's lips as she moved to gently pat Adagio, who nuzzled into her palm with a soft coo. Ada was really, really cute, and her feathers were so soft! "You did good, Daggie, you can rest now~" Arietta moved to return her to the pokeball, moving back towards Mudkip, who was letting out excited cheers by where her bike and bag were waiting. His eyes were practically sparkling, and as Arietta moved to return her pokeballs he excitedly hopped right back into the bag. "...Aren't you cute, Mudkip?"
Shifting the bike back into position, and heaving the bag back onto her shoulders, the girl was on her way.

She was going through sand now! The grains were a little hard to get through, but in the long run it helped slowed her down and kept her completely aware of her surroundings. Mudkip wasn't too happy with the pace she was riding her bike, but he wasn't gonna say anything, especially not when Arietta looked sorta peaceful riding at this pace! Everything, really was fine.
Pedaling and looking around, the route actually was really pretty! It was cold, but the water still sparkled, signs of life, especially pokemon, were all around her, and she adored the tranquility of it all. Well- that was until she passed a Gothita that seemed to be stuck in a hole in the sand, probably scooped out by some kid attempting to make a sandcastle. Arietta slowed her bike down, blinking, eyes wide. "O-Oh no!"
The Mudkip in her bag let out a confused cry, why was she slowing down?! But Arietta was having none of it. The girl quickly hopped off the bike, careful to keep her bag steady so she didn't jostle the Mudkip in it, and rushed over to the small Gohita. "Ahhh, buddy stay still- stay still!"
She moved quickly, using her hands (and unfortunately her newly manicured nails) to dig the poor little guy out, who was crying the whole time, staring at her almost terrified. Arceus, this poor little guy. After checking to make sure he was able to get out she carefully lifted him, settling him on the sand. "There you go! You can breathe easy now!"
She'd moved to get away and back to her bike, but a confused cry drew her back. Blinking at the Gothita Arietta pouted. "...Huh? Whats up?" he seemed to reach for her, and confused the girl moved to guide the little dude into her lap. "Yooooou... wanna join me, maybe?"
She moved to grab a great ball, offering it to the Gothita.
Lucky! The Gothita looks dubious, not entirely certain he trusts this person that nearly ran him over. After a few moments of contemplation, he decides to go and finally presses the button. He... didn't just make a mistake, right?
The Gothita was caught/! One Great Ball has been removed from your inventory.

The pokemon seemed hesitant, and Arietta held her breath, however a smile lit up her face as the little guy pressed the center of the pokeball, joining her team! Now if that wasn't the cutest thing ever, she didn't know what was. With a satisfied hum she moved to put the ball in her bag, stopped for a moment to pat the giddy Mudkip who'd been wriggled around in the bag the whole time. He let out a soft 'kiiiip!" in response the the pat, and Arietta let out a laugh.
"Yeah bud, I know- let's keep goin'!" swinging herself back onto the big, and ensuring her bag was strapped on tightly, she moved to begin riding again, giggling to herself as she pushed forward. This bike was good! Maybe she didn't have the hang of it at first, but it was some sort of thrill- maybe she should incorporate it into a dance some time?

The sand was getting coarser, but it was no match for Arietta's bike! Forward now, through the terrain with an excited Mudkip cheering constantly from her bag. At one point he'd attempted to get his hands around the edge of it to peer out and see the area around him better but instead he almost doubled out of the bag- so he opted to hold on tighter with a soft squeak. "Hang in there bud, we're almost home!"
Almost being the key word. As she kept going on her bike there was a meow from infront of her, thank arceus she was going slow- almost immediately the girl veered to a stop, only to find a curious Glameow who'd been just chilling in the middle of the path. Almost immediately Arietta climbed off her bike- oh she was cute.
Mudkip again was confused, there was too many stops- please get back on the bike! But Arietta didn't really listen. Instead, she moved to her knees and began gently patting the cat, smiling at it's gentle purrs- oh- oh this kitten was cute. She'd already caught a fair few pokemon but...
It was too cute not to try get. Without much thought the girl moved to fish out a great ball and offer it to the cat, "...You'll get more pats?"
Post by Arietta Ostinato on Dec 6, 2019 3:10:30 GMT
Her attempt to get the cat in her team was naught, as she reached out to scratch Arietta before umping up and running away, a hiss lashing off her tongue... right. A soft sigh left Arietta's lips and she adjusted her bag once more, the jostling making the little thrill-seeker Mudkip let out an excited cry. More bike, please Ari! He really loved it! Arietta grinned softly to herself and slid right back onto her bike.
Picking up the pace as the residential areas came into view, Mudkip was letting out a series of huge cheers and cries, absolutely adoring the ride. Thankfully, nothing else was in Arietta's way, and she could travel freely, taking in the sights, the sounds, her hair flying behind her. This was good, this was decent- and a much quicker way to get home.
"See that up ahead- Kip?" She hadn't thought of a name yet, but she will come up with one eventually! They neared Bass now, the cities silhouette standing out now. Mudkip let out a curious coo, peering up and around him. "This. This is your new home."
