Tell us a little about yourself. How would you describe yourself?

If I could describe myself in one word, it would probably be adventurous. I love the thrill of exploration and discovery; it’s a feeling that compares to nothing else in the world for me. Ever since I was a child, I’ve always had a knack for getting into things, of exploring every nook and cranny that I could find. It seems that the years have done little to change that!

Why are you interested in the class you've chosen?

Why did I choose to become an explorer? Because it gives me the opportunity to do the things that I love! I get to become a bit of a nomad, going from place to place, and seeing everything that there is to be seen. I couldn’t ask for anything more than that in a profession, now could I?

Why are you interested in training in Arciel? Why not another region?

I knew that I wanted to explore a new region, but I wasn’t sure where to start. This is probably going to sound silly, but before starting my journey, I closed my eyes and threw a small dart at a map that I had hanging on the wall back home. When I opened my eyes, I saw that it had landed right in the center of Arciel. So here I am!

What do you consider your best attributes? They can be physical, mental, social, or anything else.

If you asked that question to any of my friends back home, they would probably say that I’m fearless. I’m willing to do whatever I need to in order to make that next discovery, to see what’s hidden inside that shady looking cave. And in that respect, they would be right. I don’t let fear cloud my mind when I have a goal that I’m trying to achieve. I’ve also been complimented for my honesty, though I’ve been scolded for it too.

What do you consider your worst attributes? Be honest, now!

Probably my inability to sit still. I get restless very easily, and a lot of the time, people perceive it as rude. It’s not that I’m trying to be rude, but life is meant to be lived! Small talk and pleasantries make for a boring time, and I have very little interest in it.

What was your childhood like? How was school?

I was the youngest of two, and as a child, I used to love following my big brother around. Sometimes we would hike in the forest near our hometown, and other times, we would find ourselves crawling inside caves that we’d discover near the beach. He helped me discover my sense of adventure, I think. I miss him. He passed away four years ago; a hiking accident. As for school…I never really liked school, though I held on long enough to graduate, much to my parents’ relief.

How is your relationship with your family?

We’re fairly close. I think my parents sometimes worry about me, but I try to keep good contact with them, so they won’t have to worry so much. No matter how far I travel, I always make an effort to stop by and see them once in a while, just so they don’t forget what I look like.

What do you like to do for fun?

If I had to narrow it down to just a few things, I’d say hiking or swimming. I enjoy spending time in the water, even though I don’t get a chance to do it very often anymore. As for hiking…I love the adrenaline rush when you’re finally reaching the top, and your goal is within sight. I do it every chance that I get.

What are your feelings on romance?

Romance? I’m not really sure, to be honest with you. It’s not a topic that I really think about often. I know that I would be a lot to deal with in a partner, but I do believe that maybe there’s someone out there for me. Who knows? Maybe that’s another adventure that I’ll get to experience one day.

What are your goals for the future? Short-term and long-term.

I want to explore every region that I can, while I’m still young and able to do so. So far, I’ve done most of Kalos, but I was itching to go somewhere new, so I came here. I want to see what there is to see, discover what there is to be found. Just…explore, I guess. No solid goals beyond that.

If you could be a Pokemon, what species or typing would you choose and why?

If I could choose to be any Pokemon, I would want to be a Barboach. I know, weird choice, right? But think of all the little nooks that I could slip into! I wouldn’t have to hold my breath underwater, or worry about the pressure, which would open up a whole new world of exploration!

What do Pokemon mean to you?

I consider them to be my partners. They help me when I’m in a tough spot where I’m struggling to move forward in my journey, and I help them when they’re struggling with their own lack of strength or progression. We help each other to better ourselves. That’s how it’s always been.

Anything else you'd like to tell us about before you go?

What would be a good place to hike here in Arciel? I lost my map, but I’m ready to get moving.

Nadine is tall, with tanned skin and a swirly blue tattoo that covers her upper right arm, as well as the spot right below her collarbone. She has short purple hair that she keeps held back with a red ribbon headband, and dark green eyes that look almost gray in color. Style wise, she prioritizes comfort over fashion, preferring tank tops and pants to dresses or skirts.
