Age 18 Birthday June 6th, 2002 Gender Female Pronouns She/Her Orientation Homosexual Faction Freelancer Class Coordinator Rank Contest Nobody Occupation Aspiring Coordinator Hometown Canalave City, Sinnoh Current Residence Travelling | Personality Adelaide attempts to come across to others as polite, competent and fancy, often attempting to portray the image of a perfect, polite and loveable star- however that's very, very far from how she actually comes across to people. This ginger girl overthinks every little thing she does, from how she dresses, what she says, the intention of those who she's speaking to, and in most cases of these things her trail of thought ends up becoming irrational and negative. She becomes jealous of those around her for this same reason, jealous of how they look, how they portray themselves, and how she can never reach that same standard. In some cases, she strives so much to become different from herself, to be different that she's become a perfectionist in every sense of the word. However, she also can be very sweet to those she loves or is close to. Being comfortable means she doesn't have to overthinking every little think she does, she adores giving hugs to those she's close to and tends to rely heavily on them. She adores pokemon and what they're capable of, and won't hesitate to spoil them, even if that means they take advantage of her. History You’d think a city that welcomed cargo-ship after cargo-ship through their center would be more bustling- more exciting, something to marvel over, but growing up in the once grand port city of Sinnoh was anything but interesting. With two parents obsessed with raising their children with a 'naturalistic' approach for a long time the young girl had gone without technology. Adelaide, having spent the majority of her life living port-side with her sailor father gone most days and her house-ridden mother who was constantly busying herself with berry gardening, or cooking, often found herself trapped in days upon days of ‘blissful’ nothing. She and her two sisters complained so much to their parents about their boring routine that the pair purchased something to shut them up, something that truly would change their outlook on everything- a television. Shiny, new and a diversion from their usual antics Adelaide and her sisters were instantly enthralled by the contraption, however her oldest sister, Dia, was more-so drawn to the glitz and glamor that was presented beyond the screen, of lives just beyond their town of girls and boys who wore sparkly outfits, and presented their pokemons abilities and moveset together with wonderful style and grace. Dia became obsessed with pokemon contests, and more-so the idea of being in one, hardly twelve but growing more and more infatuated with the idea she always had to be watching them, mimicking them, and her two youngest sisters, being easily swayed, began to copy her. It became a constant in their lives, tuning it nightly to their television to watch whatever contest was on for the day, prancing around with their parents pokemon in weak attempts to have their own miniature contests. Adelaide at that point was just copying her sister, she wasn’t remotely drawn or obsessed with it like her sister Dia was but she was trying her best to impress the older girl. It was when Dia first got her own pokemon and started her Sinnoh journey that things got different. Adelaide and her other sister Tawny were stuck at home while Dia got to have fun- while Dia began going from contest hall to contest hall doing what she’d always wanted. Without Dia, both Adelaide and Tawny’s passion bubbled down to nothing and they went back to their boring routine- until Dia invited them to her first official pokemon contest, one with high stakes and high reward. Their parents reluctantly brought the children along- and suddenly everything changed. Seeing things in real life were much different then on the screen. As Dia danced and presented her pokemon, as she coordinated their moved together Adelaide was instantly drawn to the harmonization of the act, she was drawn to how pretty everything appeared, the shimmering and poise- Adelaide found herself captured in the moment, she wanted to be able to showcase such brilliance, to create a beautiful performance! As soon as she turned twelve she followed in Dia’s footsteps, however instantly she began to waver. She'd been too scared and nervous to get her own pokemon to use, to instead she borrowed her fathers when he was away on work, and they hardly listened to her. She simply wore generic, store bought dresses to contests and crowds often set her into a skittish mindset, she could barely think straight at such a young age with so many people watching her! Comparison, the thief of joy, set in. She didn’t look like the other girls and boys who were a part of the contests, nor could she move or get her pokemon to act like theirs. No matter how hard she tried Adelaide couldn’t get it to work. Her sister, who’d begun rising in stardom left her sisters behind and grew more and more narcissistic as the years went forward, whenever Adelaide begged her for help Dia complained that she had done it on her own, and Adelaide had to learn herself. Dia was the extraordinary "Diamonde" after all, the new up and coming star coordinator of Sinnoh! The purple haired goddess who's combinations set arenas alight- literally! Adealide found herself only in very novice contests, getting put off by people looking at her, worrying that they were thinking she was just a disastrous echo of her more talented sister, once she made a comment about this to a journalist outside of one of the halls and suddenly rumours began to spiral. Articles about her chasing her sisters shadow, headlines about her being the less attractive sister, somebody who was trying to use her sisters fame to get in with the industry, the media covered it all- eventually her adoration for something she once loved was ripped to shreds by the constant comments. It got to the point where her thoughts mirrored that of what others had said about her, which left her grounded and she eventually dropped contests altogether, retiring from her journey early to the town that she once say as boring and uninspired to work with her father on the ships he sailed, cleaning, polishing- her passion for contests pushed to the back of her mind in favour for doing something worthwhile, something that somebody who looked as plain as her could do well in. But it wasn’t making her happy. Her other sister, Tawny, who instead had opted to work towards becoming a trainer instead of a coordinator saw this. Every time Dia came home from her showstopping spectaculars Adelaide became more and more unnerved by the ribbons, by the fame, by how wonderful she was able to become. Why couldn't she be like Dia? Uncaring to all those who hated her, stellar in her act of performance? Self-hatred has began to set in, but her sister quickly swooped in full force to stop it. Tawny dragged her sister to a contest to remind her just what it was that drew her to them to begin with, trying to reignite her passion in some way, but it just didn’t hit the same. Eventually, Tawny came to Adelaide with a proposition. She introduced the Arciel region to her, a region full of tourists hosting contests, without her sister in the ranks to fall in the shadow of. Tawny explained that there, Adelaide could start anew, and she wouldn’t have to worry about how she compared to the other because there were so many coming in that most would be new, like her! Even then Adelaide was reluctant, but when her sister offered to pay for her travel and for a sparkly new outfit for Adelaide to wear? The young girl decided that it couldn’t hurt to entertain her sisters motion. And so that’s how she found herself standing on the docks of her hometown, surrounded by family: her teary-eyed mother, beaming sister and stoic father- the only missing piece was the star herself Dia, but at this point it was to be expected. Perhaps leaving them and the routine normalcy was what she needed? Despite sob-wretched calls on the ship of panicked worrying, of wanting to go back, and constant convincing on her sisters part, Adelaide eventually found herself in the Arciel region. She was going to try respark her passion for pokemon contests again, and this time she was well prepared for the intensive world of contests and all it had to offer! ...or at least that's what she told herself fifty times before she got off the ship that left her on the new world of Arciel. Goals She wants to become big and famous in Arciel, and have the same fame that her sister had in Sinnoh! She also would love to get over her nerves somehow, as impossible as it may seem, and be able to get better at working with pokemon. She'd also love to make her family proud. |
Appearance
Height 5'3" / 161cm Build Petite Hair Color Ginger Eye Color Brown | Adelaide, for all accounts of things, looks like she should be a coordinator. She has spotless, smooth skin, and a short figure that has a slight hint of curve to it. She wears makeup every other day, and spends hours in the morning curling and styling her hair to give the best impression possible to whoever she stumbles into. Her outfits are always feminine and intricate, lace, flowy skirts, pearl necklaces and pastels- really, it’s all fair game! She also owns glasses that she wears, however she doesn’t actually need them and they’re more of a fashion statement than anything. Aura A plethora of rising and falling grey bubbles that circle and intermix with each other, when they collide or pop sparks of green and blue rain down upon them. |

She's overthought that aspect of her life to the point where she'd probably break down if forced to face Dia again- and she loves her sister Tawny for being there through what she had to go to. > Adelaide has little to no idea on how to care for pokemon, and will probably be learing a lot about that through her journey. > Her stutters are general nerves, and will be less frequent when around somebody she's comfortable with, and more frequent around somebody she's not.
