Elizabeth now found herself in the bright and bustling city of Bass. It was a rather nice day too, the sun was shining and though there was still a winter chill she couldn't help feeling energized. She'd checked into the pokemon center and discovered a fresh batch of her pokemon had arrived through customs. Eager to greet them all she first wanted to find the training grounds and get her latest water type surf qualified.
The girl was directed to the Bass training grounds and a lovely indoor pool area that helped a lot against the chill. She greeted the instructor then released her selected student into the water. A massive splash sent waves rolling over the edge of the shallow pool and the large, perpetually angry face, of a gyarados appeared. Drago let out a roar and slammed his tail in the water sending another wave through the pool, disrupting some of the others there training.
"Hey now, settle down big guy." Liz shook her head and reached up toward the great sea serpent. Drago snorted but lowered his head to the ranger's hand. She smiled and stroked the crest on his head. Drago huffed a little but closed his eyes at the girl's touch. Liz then turned and climbed a nearby step so she could swing astride the gyarados's neck.
"Alright steady now fella." She sent soothing thoughts the water snake's way as she slid in behind the plate at the back of his head. She patted the thick scales then motioned to the pool. "Okay buddy, let's see what you got."
Drago surged forward and nearly knocked Liz off from the sudden movement. The girl didn't mind though as she gripped tightly to the sea serpent's fins. Riding Drago was a completely different experience than riding Lavender. Lapras were much more inclined to have riders and were pretty much built for it. A gyarados however were pretty intent on not having a rider. Drago of course wasn't likely to try and throw Liz of but he wasn't exactly overly concerned if she stayed on.
As it was indoors and a moderate temperature, Liz had opted for changing into her swimsuit. This did allow Drago a little more freedom in his movements as Liz getting wet wasn't an issue. Thus the sea serpent swam nearly parallel with the surface of the water and let Liz's feet drag some through the pool. The girl gave him a bit of a thump on the back of the head. Drago grumbled and lifted his head high enough that at least the ranger's feet weren't in the water anymore.
"Remember you've a passenger best act like it okay?" The girl chided though her tone was tempered. Drago sighed as he moved toward one of the hoop jumps provided by the obstacle course. Liz raised a brow but gave him an encouraging squeeze of her legs. "Alright, let's do it." She chuckled as the sea serpent rushed forward and dove through the loop. Liz ducked down close to his head as the great snake submerged a moment then resurfaced.
Liz coughed a little then chuckled and shook her head. "Well I think that did it, looks like we're getting the thumbs up from the instructor." She sighed and gave Drago another pat as he moved to the edge of the pool to let her off.
