Set in the original region of Arciel, Legends Rising is a route-inspired, but not strictly route-based, Pokemon roleplay. Pick a faction, pick a class, and strike out into the wild to take on the League, master Contest coordination, research the mysteries of Pokemon and Arciel, and much, much more. Will you be a classic trainer? A criminal? A farmer? Choose your destiny on Legends Rising.
Having returned from a trying, yet fun, spelunking trip, Shalin and her roster needed a rest. They had spent quite some time in the wilderness, and her supplies had run dreadfully low. It had been several weeks since she had submitted her report about the missing Pokémon, with not a peep from the Rangers' Guild. She had a feeling they were shorthanded, but with how long the investigation was taking, it could very well have been a cold case.
The Pokémon Mart on the north side of town looked very busy, the small parking lot close to capacity, with many Pokémon being used to haul merchandise. Not wanting to make any more of a scene than was needed, Shalin dismounted and withdrew her Stantler as soon as the two had crossed the street to the parking lot. She gently pat the Poké Ball. "I shouldn't be long, Prance." Shouldn't being the key word. The place was more of a large convenience store than a supermarket, which in theory would make finding things easy.
Regular Potion wasn't going to cut it anymore--not with where she planned on heading. There was a smoldering peak beyond the woods, and she was going to scale it, just as she had scaled Mount Chimney during her trip through Hoenn. Super Potion, Burn Heal, Revive...there was a long shopping list. She would also need to purchase some creams and ointments to restock her first aid kit--Arciel's wild Pokémon were very aggressive toward humans, and she was not getting caught injured without supplies.
As she was checking out, she caught an advertisement for the Explorer's League of Arciel. From what she read, it was similar to Explorer's Guilds she had seen in other regions, particularly Hoenn. Their Pine Town branch was only a few blocks down the road. After organizing her newly-purchased supplies, she sent Prance back out, an ominous cloud to their west. Snow was coming. "Change of plans - we're going to check out the Explorer's League," she said to the Stantler as she attached her riding gear again. The Stantler seemed excited as she was, proud of all her Trainer had been through.
Once the two had left the vicinity of the Pokémon Mart, there was a lot less traffic to worry about. Arriving at the building's main entrance, she looked around for signs of the advertised Endre Arthmael or a receptionist that could direct her in the right place.
The novice Explorer blinked a couple of times. "This...is Endre Arthmael's office, right?" she replied, then look across the room to see two logos for...Steinbecker Law? Shalin was in completely the wrong place! "...I'm sorry for bothering you - I have the wrong office." She waved goodbye before heading out the other entrance, finding a large, almost mall-like foyer. Apparently she had found the back door to an office complex.
According to the advertisement she saw, Shalin had the correct address, but the excited girl had forgotten the suite number! There were at least eight offices per floor. She paced around the foyer's walls, looking for a directory of some kind. The only one she was able to see was for the first level, and it had yet to be updated with Steinbecker Law. Perhaps they had just moved in, and that was why they couldn't direct her to the correct office? Perhaps their office was not on the first floor. The now nervous headed upstairs and looked for a floor directory, starting above where she found the one downstairs.
It looks like the office is indeed on this floor according to the directory. It looks like this receptionist is much more alert and greets you with a wave, assuring you you're in the right place.

It was fitting that the Explorer's League was not in in plain sight from the entrance. After all, their entire drive was to get its members to explore the unknown. Shalin entered the fairly large office space, the first thing catching her eye being a row of trophy cases with unique finds, each of them labeled by their discoverer and their location. The find that stood out to her most were four swords in the likeness of the four Unovan legendary Pokémon that shunned humans. She paused in particular at the blade forged in the likeness of Keldeo's horn. "Voiceless Caverns," she said aloud. "I'll have to check them out sometime."
After perusing the rest of that particular trophy case, she turned around to greet the receptionist. "Good morning - sorry I'm a little late. Shalin Nariya," she introduced herself. "I should have an appointment to see Endre Arthmael or their assistant. It's about membership in the Explorer's League. Would you let them know I'm here? I'm sure there's paperwork involved." She rolled her eyes at the thought of paperwork. Shalin understood why it was necessary, but that didn't mean she agreed with it all. "...If there's an application to fill out, I can get to work on it while you let them know."

The receptionist actually says there's no paperwork to fill out. She leads you back to a different .... oh that's not an office that's a set of stairs?? You start climbing up them to the roof where a muscular man stands with his arms folded. He turns and beckons to you asking to hear your stories.
Not much of an office, more of a type of urban wilderness, the rooftop was. Unsurprising, given how little time people in the Explorer's Guild tend to spend in town. "So you're the Explorer's Guild chair, Endre?" Shalin asked. "Glad to share." Shalin started digging through her bag, finding part of her share of some of the treasure she had come across alongside Senara. She pulled out two of the larger coins.
"These are from a treasure trove I found at the bottom of the Glowworm Caverns. Underneath the main tunnel most people travel, there was a large, underground cavern with a wrecked ship and an underground river system. Farther down the river, there were Braille inscriptions not unlike ones found in Hoennite ruins. I wasn't able to read them, but my partner was. I thought they could have been related to Arciel's legendary Pokémon." She also located her pouch of Galar Powder and showed it to the hulking man. "We also found crystals made of this at the bottom of pools formed at the bottom of the river basin. They were crystallized underwater, but immediately lost their shape when we removed them from the water. Never seen anything like it."
Taking a half-minute to collect her thoughts, she started recollecting to Endre her crime-busting story. "I checked out some of the back trails north of Birch with a hiking partner, and stumbled across a...really large, and not in a good way, Pokémon smuggler. Apparently she was a wanted criminal and I didn't know it at the time. We tailed her to her base of operations on a secluded part of the coastline, winning a tough battle against her and bringing her to justice with the help of the local Pokémon rangers." She remotely logged in to her Pokémon storage application from her phone and highlighted the stored Tentacool. "This is Vannifar, one of the Pokémon that horrible person was trying to transport. Though it was more she forced her way into a Poké Ball than I wanted to catch her."
Another half-minute she paused, making sure she didn't forget anything. "And that's...about it. I hear there's a volcano on the northeast end of Arciel - kinda want to check it out when I'm in the area."
It's hard to tell if he is impressed or not, but Endre is listening and finally gives a resounding nod. After that, he tells you that those are very impressive adventures and that he will put in a request to update your rank in the guild.
You receive: 100 Pen, 3 Rare Candies, +10 Reputation, +1 Fame, and the rank of Route Ravager
