How would you describe yourself? "Isn't that such a cliche place to start?" The interviewer doesn't look impressed, just raises their brows at Greer. They give a nervous chuckle in response and clears their throat. "Okay, fine, fine. Uh, lessee... I'd describe myself as..." Lifting a hand, they tap their chin and then nod as if someone else told them the answer, "Great! I'm a pretty... er, y'know!" The interviewer shakes their head. No, they don't know. That's the whole purpose of the interview. Greer lets out a sigh, humming. "I'm a person. Describing oneself is kind of conceited, isn't it? Let people make their own opinions! I'm... Gah! Since you're forcing this, I guess I'd describe myself as interesting. I try to avoid being... uh, what's the word? Predictable! Knowing how a person's going to react to everything is so boring, don't you think?" Why are you interested in the class you've chosen? Greer perks up at this question. "Oh, man! I just love seeing things grow, y'know? It's so fun to give something attention and then see it... To see something you've taken care of improve! To see things that you'd never expected, to do things you never expected! Making things and learning things is just... the stuff, y'know?" The interviewer squints a little. Wait... what was this person doing? They look at the paper. A nurse...? Looking back to Greer, they're greeted with a bright, exaggerated and stupid grin. Sighing, they continue... Why are you interested in training in Arciel? Why not another region? "Well, I mean... aren't you guys trying to get more tourists and stuff? Why question it when people come to your call?" Now the interviewer is already getting tired and just stares at Greer until they continue, "I guess I chose here because... I... I'm used to islands, you know? Really warm, all the time, rainy and wet islands. So I wanted to go to a more land-bound region, for sure, and this place has pretty impressive mountains! There's like... no mountains back in Mutiga... I mean, I guess that makes sense since they're coral islands but still... hm!" The interviewer considers questioning if it was just the mountains, why not choose Johto or Kalos, or better yet, Orre... but another weird rant is not on their preferred list. What do you consider your best attributes? They can be physical, mental, social, or anything else. "Yeesh, you guys are really looking for some conceited people, aren't you?" Greer ignores the glare from the interviewer. "My hair, duh! Look at the color and the volume! Touch it, go on, touch it!" Greer had bunched it up exuberantly, showing off the locks. Now with a handful, they extend their arm to the interviewer who leans away and tries to be polite in their no. "Really?" Greer withdraws their hand and looks at their hair questioningly, wondering how this person could resist. With a shrug, they add, "Other than my hair, I'm very stubborn. Dedicated! That's a good way to put it... I keep to my goals like butter on bread. Heh..." What do you consider your worst attributes? Be honest, now! The silly grin that had been plastered on Greer's face falls at this question. "Oh," they say softly. Tapping their lip, they look down at the table and take a deep breath. "Uh, that's... that's a tough one, sorta. I mean, well..." There's a lot they'd consider bad attributes. "I guess... my worst is... uh, my inability to let people close. I can... sort of connect to people, but letting them much farther than acquaintences is..." They shrug helplessly and then gulp. "Then there's... not being able to focus unless I'm really invested. I guess that's... fairly normal, but I consider it bad because I hate not being able to... to do any particular thing. Like..." The interviewer stops them there. Jots down something about lack of self-esteem and continues on. What was your childhood like? How was school? "Oh, er... It was... predictable? High expectations, not enough time to just be a kid... Work, work, work." Greer pauses, looking thoughtful and shrugging. "My childhood was real boring in my opinion. School was... well, it was school. Also boring. I didn't really feel challenged, so I made it challenging. By messing with my teachers. I guess I sort of became the class clown. My parents weren't impressed, you can probably imagine." Greer doesn't like to think about the expectations put on them if they don't have to. The fact of the matter is, those expectations are still there no matter how hard they try to get out of them. How is your relationship with your family? This question causes a long pause and Greer takes a deep breath, inhaling for about six seconds before exhaling and putting their hands in their hands. "Not... bad, exactly. I have a big family. Like... so much extended family I get dizzy remembering names. My parents want me to succeed so... they don't really support me unless they think it will further a career or... something something, whatever... I have a cousin, though! She's pretty awesome. A lot like you, actually. Sick of my craziness, but deals with it. Er... I guess her reason for dealing with it probably isn't the same, though." The interviewer is not impressed, but is a little surprised and just gives Greer a look, jots something down and continues. What do you like to do for fun? A goofy grin plasters itself on Greer's face for this question. "What won't I do for fun is the real question. I am all for trying new things. What about diving into caves? Doesn't that sound exciting?" Dangerous. That's what it sounds like to the interviewer. "No? Well, what about running with wild herds of Pokemon? Climbing a mountain and living up there for a week with the Pokemon up there? No? Uh... I... I guess for more... mundane things," Greer says with some disdain, "movies. I like romance and the weirdest sci-fi movies I can find. You know, the kind that ends and makes you sit there staring at the screen like 'what the %!*# just happened??'. Those. I like to enjoy the weather... although I suppose that may not be as true here as back home..." This pause allows the interviewer to continue. What are your feelings on romance? "Didn't I just say I loved them?" Gosh, this interviewer isn't even paying atte--oh... Greer stares at the interviewer long enough to make them look up and give a questioning look. The redhead fidgets and offers a noncommital shrug. "I, uh... I mean, I've... I've had some interests. Some people that... er." Pausing to close their eyes, Greer refocuses themselves and offers, "I'm not looking. In fact, I've... I've never gone looking. People find me. I mean, I don't... I don't think they purposely seek me out. I'm not conceited! This dang interview makes me out to be so self-centered." With a whine, Greer puts their face in their hands. The interviewer decides to be nice enough to just move on. What are your goals for the future? Short-term and long-term. "Goals?" That sounds a lot like 'expectations' and Greer doesn't like the sound of it, but... they have to come up with something. "Let's... see. I guess I want to find a group of people that I'd like to spend a lot of time around. Friends! Right, yes. Friends. I definitely want to raise some great Pokemon. On the islands, there's only... water-types and some birds, really. I guess some Rattata too but yeah, there isn't much variety where I'm from so here, where there are so many, I'm just really excited." If you could be a Pokemon, what species or typing would you choose and why? "Salazzle," Greer blurts. The interviewer looks a little interested, wondering if this person was more female than they'd let on. Then the redhead realizes their mistake, though, and gets flustered. "Oh! No, no, no, I meant... I definitely mean Salandit. I mean, Salazzle is gorgeous and all and there's nothing wrong with it, but Salandit... It's... I guess it is kind of weird, honestly. I think it matches me because males don't have evolution to look forward to. They have to deal with who they are, they have to make do with whatever power they have in that form. Y'know? I feel like... that's me. Everyone has these big expectations of me, think I can do such great things, but... I'm me. What I have now is what I have and I do what I can with that." What do Pokemon mean to you? This question makes Greer pause. What a... great question. A difficult question! "Pokemon are... helpers, companions. Like I said before, the variety is just amazing in Arciel. There are so many kinds and I am such a curious person that I want to find out all I can about them. They're... sort of like kids too, I guess. Can be kind of independent, difficult, but you always want what's best for them. You want to care for them... Help them. I really... can't wait to get a Pokemon and find out everything they'll mean to me." Anything else you'd like to tell us about before you go? "Uh, nope. Not really, can't think of anything. I'm just a laid back person looking to have some fun! Can't wait to get out there!" |
Appearance
Height 5'06" / 167.64cm Build Wiry Hair Color Red Eye Color Green | This is an individual of strange but simple tastes. They nearly always wear a shirt that reveals their midrift which is the one place on their body that shows the most muscle tone. The pants they wear are generally loose-fitting and flowy because they like to be able to move. Shoes, if worn at all, are light tennis shoes or cotton shoes. Greer has three piercings: their right tragus (a stainless steel stud) and their lobes (the earrings change semi-frequently). They also have one tattoo which is on their ribs on their left side and therefore mostly covered by their shirt. Part does usually show, however, and this part is a daffodil. The other portion includes a light purple chrysanthemum which is set behind the daffodil. Aura Greer's aura is a gently pulsing bubble of orange and yellow. Little orbs of green, blue, and black with tails circle this bubble and if there is some excitement or trouble they will make stranger movements but usually circle in horizontal order. |

"Sans" being that there seems to be no real trend in what kind of person Greer finds attractive. Feminine, masculine, androgynous, man, woman, neither, both... We don't know. This does not necessarily mean they are attracted to anyone, but it does mean their attraction to a person may change over time. Greer is not likely to find themselves attracted to someone only because that person is attracted to them. Pokemon
