To participate in the Swarm, first post in this thread looking for a Pokemon. A mod will tag you and reply with stats for one Pokemon you find, including color and possibly even evolution depending on the species. Reply again encountering and trying to capture the Pokemon. Once you succeed, do not post in the thread again.
You may only find one per character, no rerolls. This is to prevent spamming to find special Pokemon. If for any IC reason you need to encounter another, use the same stats originally rolled and pretend it's a different individual.
Pokemon in Swarms have a 20% chance of being a special coloration!
Pokemon in swarms have a +20% capture rate with any ball, and will never flee.
This swarm closes at 11:59pm site time on May 31. After that, no new encounters will be spawned. However, anyone who has an ongoing encounter that isn't yet finished has until 11:59pm on the 15th of the following month to finish trying to catch their encounter. After that, the thread will be locked and archived.
Another of Soren's walks took him out a different gate, and thankfully the weather this time around was more windy and less wet. Dizzy took to the skies gratefully, flapping her little bird wings to keep her aloft and occasionally retreating to Soren's shoulder when the occasional straggler or rider passed by. Like before, she would peek out under the curtain of his hair, waiting until the strangers had passed before making warning coos and puffing herself up proudly, like she had been the one to scare them away. At Soren's side the newly-christened Testament, the "barry" Soren had coaxed to come along with him, was happily munching on some wildflowers he'd picked along the way and from time to time would steal glances at the bird hiding in Soren's hair.
He'd actually managed to catch a glimpse of one of the local news stations and as such, was a little more informed as to what swarms were and what it was actually called. He couldn't remember the name of the pokemon outright, but they had such large noses that he absolutely had to have one. Since there was a Mr. Mime in Kanto, Soren wagered that the species name was Mr. Nose, which seemed to fit it well enough. With a new egg packed securely in his satchel - the old one had hatched into a weird, four-legged creature (Darjeeling, if he remembered right, which was also a weird name, but he wasn't a scientist so what did he know!) - he picked his way over rough and smooth terrain, keeping an eye out for potential signs of Mr. Nose.
It didn't take much long for him to stumble upon what he was looking for, a rock-colored pokemon with a big red nose. The grin that split Soren's face was infectious, sheer delight showing in his expression at seeing the ... rather large pokemon emerge from its hiding spot in a bush. He had a limited number of pokeballs left, and after pawing through his bag and nudging the eggy out of the way, he managed to come up with a few just in case the first pokeball didn't keep.
The Mr. Nose remained hovering not too far away, so still it looked like a statue, and without further ado Soren took aim and threw a pokeball at it, as hard as he could.
One shake, then two... Soren held his breath as the pokeball began to tremble a third time, and let it out all at once when he heard the resounding click, so final even around the sounds of the wind blowing all around him. He couldn't help but give a little fist-pump in excitement before he jogged a little forward to retrieve the now-still pokeball, Dizzy still keeping a firm grip on his shoulder with her little bird feets. As he examined it, Testament also coming along to get a quick peek at his new teammate, he mulled over a name for only a fraction of a second before he decided on, "Mr. Satan." Because who else had such an amazing mustache, really? It also lined up nicely with the original Mr. Nose appellation, so he saw absolutely no problems with it.
If any of the other pokemon disagreed with him they didn't say anything - how could they, really, in the fact of such a name - and after tucking the pokeball away into some pocket or other to examine at a later date, Soren got up and adjusted the strap of his now wiggling satchel, his sights turned back towards the city where he was staying.

Pine Town could now be seen in the distance but an alert popped up on Elizabeth's phone. It seemed that a swarm of nosepass was in the vicinity. Though the sun had set and dusk was upon them, the ranger figured it couldn't hurt to see if they could happen upon one of these rock types before finishing their trip into the mining town.
Chisulo banked and dropped closer to the ground so the trainer could get a better look at their surroundings. The route had turned rugged here and the town looked like it was nestled directly at the base of the mountain range. That made sense naturally for a mining town, what better place then to be deep in the mountains. It also made sense that rock types would feel quite at home here.
"Slight change of plans guys, keep an eye out for Nosepass."
The group nodded in response and began to spread out keeping their eyes open for the rather obvious rock type pokemon. Even in the evening light it shouldn't be too difficult to recognize a nosepass.

Sure enough a dark outline of a nosepass could be seen marching toward the group. This nosepass seemed a little smaller than most but completely undeterred by the presence of the ranger and her team. In fact he stomped right up to Raya and gave a come hither motion. It seemed it was challenging the lucario to battle.
"Well if you insist."
The jackal dropped from Ares's back and stood opposite the rock type. Chisulo dropped to the ground so Liz could dismount as well. The ranger drew up behind the lucario and crossed her arms giving the nosepass a curious look.
"Alright then, Raya, Swords Dance."
Elizabeth instructed and the lucario immediately increased her own strength, as faint swords of energy danced around her. Nosepass raises both hands and seemed to be sizing Raya up as he Locked On to his target. Now he couldn't possibly miss the lucario even if she dodged.
The ranger pursed her lips and nodded to Raya who rushed forward both arms raised across her chest. The lucario hit hard with a devastating Cross Chop though the nosepass did nothing to avoid the attack taking it full on. He was still standing, his Sturdy frame holding up even under the powerful attack. Liz smirked wondering if that was part of why he'd been so bold.
Nosepass quickly retaliated with a surge of power. Electrical Discharge went everywhere and struck Raya true. The electric energy even managed to cause her muscles to seize in a temporary paralysis. Raya struggled against the paralysis as she tried to remain on her feet.
"Well done Raya. Hang in there just a moment."
The ranger encouraged as she pulled out a pokeball and quickly tossed it toward the nosepass. She hoped he'd been sufficiently weakened by the lucario's attack and the ball would hold. If not, Tansy would likely need to step in and put the nosepass under.

Fayne had heard rumors of a Nosepass swarm making its way through the territory, but she hadn't actually expected to come across any on her way to Pine Town. She probably should've, given that they were moving en masse and were large creatures by their own right. It would be hard not to come across one or two during her travels. Though rock and steel types weren't exactly her favorite, Fayne still kept an eye out for the hoard. Having a Nosepass to train up, use in combat, and potentially even use in mining would certainly make any wasted Pokeballs well worth it. Eventually, as she crested a ridge and spotted Pine Town's faint outline on the horizon, Fayne heard a humming, droning noise from some ways off. The young researcher slowed and turned her attention to where the humming seemed to be emanating from -- through some rough terrain and behind a handful of sizeable boulders. There was a moment of hesitation before Fayne stepped off the path and walked around a small hill of sand and earth. As the noise got louder, so too did the sound of gurgling rocks and ringing steel. It was possible there was some construction or mining operations causing the auditory disruptions, but Fayne couldn't pass up the opportunity to check it out for herself. With any luck, it'd be a Nosepass or Probopass.

The very moment Fayne rounded the corner, she spotted a swarm of Nosepass waddling away. On the outskirts of the group was an average-sized Nosepass that looked... strange in comparison to its kin. It was orange instead of blue, with a blue nose instead of an orange one. The colors were inverted, it seemed. The petrologist froze in place and watched as it wandered farther from the rest of its peers, absentmindedly nearing Fayne with humming a happy tune in its gravelly voice. While moving with deliberate caution, the novice trainer pulled out her Pokedex and scanned the creature before it. It wasn't shiny, albino, or melanistic, but it wasn't a natural variation either. The Pokemon was a rare find, indeed! Not wanting to waste her chance to catch such a peculiar and unique Nosepass, Fayne pulled a Quick Ball from her bag and threw it at the orange anomaly. The Pokemon was sucked instead, and Fayne held her breath with anticipation.

After the flat lands of Routes 1 and 2, it was a welcome change to be back on Route 6 again, where the hills scattered among the meadows broke up what would have otherwise been a monotonous landscape. The added speed provided by the downward slope of the hills didn't hurt, either. Thus it was that Kaisei was flying down one such slope, letting go of the pedals and feeling the wind in his hair, when -- was that a rock in the middle of the road? [break][break] He was moving too fast to safely avoid hitting the rock by braking, so he veered off the trail into the grass before bringing himself to a stop. "Who the fucking hell just leaves--" He marched up to the rock with arms crossed, ready to punt it into the ditch on the other side, when he realized that up close it was much bigger and much heavier than he had initially given it credit for. The rock was mostly squarish, but with a triangular protrusion on the top that resembled a nose. Its odd coloration, separate from the rest of the rock, lent credence to the supposition that this was a highly unusual prank. Why else would a rock obviously not originating from the area have been dragged all the way here? [break][break] And... was it moving? [break][break] Party: Cherubi (Hinata, Lv13, 5/5 Energy), Heracross (Masaki, Lv12, 5/5 Energy), Remoraid (Minami, Lv12, 5/5 Energy), Dottler (Ayumu, Lv11, 5/5 Energy), Togepi Egg (6/10 hatching posts), Bagon Egg (6/15 hatching posts) [break][break] Notes: 222 WC[break]
The rock slowly picked itself up onto two stumpy legs, and Kaisei realized it was a Nosepass - just an unusually large one. He stood by the side of the road tapping his foot rapidly. Slowly, the Nosepass turned to look up at him. [break][break] "Move," he snapped. The Nosepass seemed to acknowledge this at least. It slowly turned away, and... was it just rotating in place to face magnetic north? It was, wasn't it. Just his luck that his bike ride had to be disrupted by a Pokemon as stupid as it was annoying. What little patience he had permitted for the Nosepass had evaporated. He placed his foot up against it and gave it a hard shove. [break][break] The Nosepass toppled... and rolled... and kept rolling... and sweet mother of Mewtwo was it using Rollout? Kaisei clenched his teeth and put his arms in a guard stance; he wasn't sure he could withstand a rolling stone like that, but gods damnit he had to try at least, trying to run away would just make him look like an even bigger fool. He braced himself for the attack that never came, the Nosepass veering away suddenly. He blinked in confusion, turned his head to follow the Nosepass's trajectory, just in time to hear the crunch... [break][break] "MY BIKE!!!" [break][break] He grabbed a random Pokeball from his belt, from which emerged his Remoraid. "Minami, DESTROY IT!" He pointed a shaking finger at the Rock-type, which was still rolling along. Minami charged up energy in her water bubble and fired it at the Nosepass, the first Water Pulse shot missing entirely, but the second one splashing down right in front of the Nosepass, causing it to unroll in a panic. The third shot hit it dead-on, and Kaisei was already readying a Pokeball to throw at it. [break][break] Party: Cherubi (Hinata, Lv13, 5/5 Energy), Heracross (Masaki, Lv12, 5/5 Energy), Remoraid (Minami, Lv12>Lv13, 5/5 Energy), Dottler (Ayumu, Lv11, 5/5 Energy), Togepi Egg (7/10 hatching posts), Bagon Egg (7/15 hatching posts) [break][break] Notes: 303 WC[break] Attempting capture with a Pokeball.
