It was rather impressive, seeing just how far ahead Josh was getting with Blinky; quickly becoming a little yellow dot in the distance, as Borzil rode along on Daisy. "..." He, initially, was a little speechless from it all - although... "... Guess he's gone, then?" He'd murmur quizzically - to which Rose simply shrugged, and Tulip brayed, as if trying to encourage them to go catch up. Borzil, though, would simply continue at the same steady and careful pace - not wanting to risk Daisy crashing into anyone, by going too fast.
Along the way though, he would briefly stop to pick up a couple of Burn Heals that were left at the side of the road. In addition, it seemed as though Josh would begin to slow down a little on Blinky's back - not that Borzil could really see, from how far ahead the trainer was by now. Perhaps now, though, he'd be coming back soon - and they'd be able to continue onwards together. Updating Daisy's level. Ignore Honeybunch when rolling, please!

A dust cloud extended behind Josh, Blinky feeling a burning sensation in her paws while slowing from what her rider thought was a dead aprint. It wasn't that far off, and it sure felt like one with the wind assisting. Most speedy land Pokémon used their claws to help them slow down after a run. With Blinky's meant for the opposite, that put immense pressure on her bare paws, particularly when needing to suddenly stop. There was no suddenly about it, though - not with how quick the electric-type was. By the time the dust cloud cleared, the two had stopped, Josh dismounting his Pokémon and feeding her a well-deserved treat before recalling her. He had a lot of work to do to get her race ready - after all, with great speed comes great responsibility.
As he was about to bring out a replacement for Blinky, he caught sight of an electric Pokémon trainer that seemed eager for a quick battle, especially with the wind starting to die down. It was still a blustery afternoon, but conditions were far from hazardous like they were earlier in the day. When the opposing trainer revealed his three electric Pokémon, including a strange Graveler he had remembered from a previous battle, Josh realized his team had more holes in it that just ground Pokémon - perhaps even worse was fighting his own favored type. He presented Resheph, Aslan, and Nitro to fight this battle, in that order, with no substitutions permitted.
Expecting Josh to field his most powerful Pokémon first, the performer immediately ordered his Graveler to detonate. While Resheph was fast, she wasn't fast enough to outrun a shock wave from what Kantonians often called the "boulder bomb". Even the trainers had to face away from the attack, both their backs pelted with debris. Josh's foe was right, too - Resheph was the best Pokémon for this battle, indeed.
The second round pit Aslan against a strange-looking Raichu Josh had vaguely remembered hearing about quite some time ago - it certainly wasn't the Kantonian variety. Aslan's first instinct was to flex and show his sharp claws in an effort to get the electric-type to back down. The opposing Pokémon retaliated by telekinetically rearing the Pyroar's front legs up well beyond what his back legs could naturally hold, the fire Pokémon tipping over and landing uncomfortably on his back. The humiliation sent Aslan into a frenzy, opening his mouth wide and shooting a devastating Hyper Beam that echoed so loudly, even Borzil had to be able to hear it. While potent, the recoil from the attack left Aslan delirious long enough for the guitarist's final Pokémon, a Dedenne, to clean up with a modest electric jolt.
Josh was down to his final Pokémon, a Gogoat. Given their typing, as well as a trump card in the Dedenne's bag of tricks, his opponent was confident he could win a long, drawn-out battle. All it would take, though, was a single ram-and-trample of the green Pokémon's paws to prove otherwise - no Electric-type could handle being Bulldozed over repeatedly. After a couple of exchanges, Josh was able to seize victory. Phew! That battle took a lot longer than he thought. With Nitro still in fairly good shape, Josh switch to riding the grass-type and turned him around. Now where was Borzil?

For the stroll that Borzil was going at as he made his way up towards Josh, it was safe to say that there wasn't much of interest going on. The only thing to note, would be Tulip straying off the path to bring over a Great Ball - the young filly braying excitedly as she batted the ball along, until Daisy brought her to a gentle stop, so that Borzil could retrieve the ball. "Hm.." He'd hum - frowning slightly. They had been finding a bunch of objects along the road, hadn't they? Though a lot of this could likely be attributed to the windstorm snatching peoples' items and bags away, he considered suggesting to his fellow rangers about doing some sort of anti-littering campaign...
"A wild pokemon's gonna get hurt, sooner or later, if they decide to chew on these things..." Borzil sighed, pocketing the Great Ball.
As far as Josh and his battle went though, Borzil would - initially - not really be able to make out much of it, due to the distance. He wasn't really able to tell who was winning and who was losing though, or what pokemon the two trainers were having, until he managed to get closer... but by then, the fight was just about over. Seeing Nitro Bulldoze a poor Dedenne into submission, Borzil would nod a little to himself; supposing that Josh was the winner, if the exchange the two trainers had was of any indication.
As Josh glanced about, Borzil would give a wave to Josh, and file back in alongside the older man. "Looks like we're just about to Cedar," He'd mention idly - gesturing up ahead, to the buildings that were coming into view, much to the young man's relief. Who knew how long this lull in the windstorm would last, after all? Ignore Honeybunch when rolling, please!

Josh started sweating a bit when he looked all around for his missing companion, the south gate of Cedar Town now visible. The wind was still uncomfortable, though not as dangerous as it was before. Thankfully, Nitro was in good shape even after the battle, eager to get a bit of a run himself. It wouldn't be much of one, though, what with the gate in sight. Josh was also a bit concerned that the wind would dry the grass Pokémon up too much.
It was at that moment Borzil came up in Josh's blind spot, the only sign of his presence being Tulip's clopping, barely-audible hooves. "She really wanted to run, huh?" Josh laughed, unable to bring himself to an apology for leaving him in the dust in not exactly the best of weather conditions. There was a Stantler grazing very close to town - he wasn't exactly certain whether it was wild or not. Probably so, given the lack of trainers in the area. "Thank goodness," Josh answered, Nitro happy to walk at Borzil's pace. "I've had enough of this wild weather for one day. Maybe tonight I'll see if I can find some of Plum City's gym battles online and study. If the other Gyms here have told me anything, I'll need every edge I can get."

As Josh commented on Blinky having really wanted to run, Borzil would nod a bit, smiling in as friendly as a fashion as ever. "Can't blame her for being excited," He'd agree with a chuckle; though he'd also soon mention in a somewhat concerned hue "Riding on her seems like it could get dangerous quick, if you had a tumble mid-run, though. Maybe you oughta invest in some protective equipment for yourself, if you haven't already?"
Borzil had fallen from Daisy once, when she was going at full speed, back when they still lived in Unova - and it wasn't fun at all, to say the least. Though the injuries he had healed up alright, it wasn't something he'd wish on other riders, that was for sure. Though, thankfully, it wasn't like they'd have much reason to go on any more crazy rides. They were starting to near Cedar Town, and by extension, shelter; be it at one of the many hotels in this place, or at the Pokemon Center.
As Josh mentioned an interest in studying some of Plum City's gym battles, Borzil would nod; smiling to the older man. "Well, I wish you luck with all that, then; you seem like you got some tough pokemon, for sure!" He'd chirp, grinning in an encouraging fashion. He'd soon turn Daisy back south, towards Birch, and give Josh a brief wave. "I'm probably gonna be heading back down to Birch, though, to keep patrolling. Be safe, y'hear?"
It was unsurprising Borzil expressed concerns about an accident while racing Blinky around. "The league organizers make races as safe as possible," Josh replied. "It seems like every race has at least one bad accident. Got to see one myself earlier this season when watching one of my races back." It was a terrible one, too - one that cost the involved team most of the rest of their season. "Probably wouldn't be a bad idea for the wilderness, though. I'll have to look into it."
Josh was at first sad that Borzil wasn't following him past Cedar, but it made sense - the teen was on duty, after all. "Maybe you'll get to see the rest of my team on the way back from Plum, once I win that badge!" Nitro let out a shout of approval - at last, his time to shine! "I'm qualified for the Silver League championship at the end of the season - it'll be in Plum City in early November if you can get away for a weekend are into that sort of thing. In any case, see you around!" He waved back to Borzil, Nitro trotting beyond the gate and into town.
