Set in the original region of Arciel, Legends Rising is a route-inspired, but not strictly route-based, Pokemon roleplay. Pick a faction, pick a class, and strike out into the wild to take on the League, master Contest coordination, research the mysteries of Pokemon and Arciel, and much, much more. Will you be a classic trainer? A criminal? A farmer? Choose your destiny on Legends Rising.
To participate in the Swarm, first post in this thread looking for a Pokemon. A mod will tag you and reply with stats for one Pokemon you find, including color and possibly even evolution depending on the species. Reply again encountering and trying to capture the Pokemon. Once you succeed, do not post in the thread again.
You may only find one per character, no rerolls. This is to prevent spamming to find special Pokemon. If for any IC reason you need to encounter another, use the same stats originally rolled and pretend it's a different individual.
Pokemon in Swarms have a 20% chance of being a special coloration!
Pokemon in swarms have a +20% capture rate with any ball, and will never flee.
This swarm closes at 11:59pm site time on October 7. After that, no new encounters will be spawned. However, anyone who has an ongoing encounter that isn't yet finished has until 11:59pm on the 20th of October to finish trying to catch their encounter. After that, the thread will be locked and archived.
You know, the beach was a very lovely place. The sun was shining, the waves lapped at the half sand half rocky shore. And you know Adi's favorite thing? With each change of the tide, the beach changed, leaving something new to be found. Tidepools changed daily, and he had already found one alcove along the rocky cliff face. Who said that there wouldn't be another? And that is what Adi was looking for as he walked down the beach, large bag hanging heavily by his side. After all, it had three eggs in it that were tucked away for their safety.
Tri was active, sometimes inconsiderate in his play. But he knew better than to attack the bag. Whenever it was in his vicinity, he was very, very careful. Though the teal canine would much rather give it a wide berth. Which also saved his blonde trainer from getting his legs swept out from underneath him. All the better when Piani and Fortio were on their usual places on his shoulder.
They were walking at a slow pace, Adi seeing what was to be found, occasionally checking the tide pools for any interesting stones or shells, picking up any beach plastic or garbage that would have otherwise been swept back out to see.
Then he came across something that made him feel guilty. A Krabby, pincers clamped shut by the plastic rings that would hold a six pack of pop together.
"Hold on buddy. Let me help you out." Adi kneeled down in the sand, ignoring how a rock dug into his knee in favor of pulling out his knife. Inserting the blade between the claw and plastic, then cut it before doing the same to the other. "There you go." Adi smiled, snapping each ring to turn the plastic into one singular strand before adding it to his garbage bag. He patted the crab pokemon before wandering off.
It took twenty or so minutes, but Adi was getting that feeling that he was being watched.
Adi frowned, neck tingling as if he was getting stalked. Definitely not a feeling he liked, especially with the UB's getting spotted every so often. If not them, then their destruction. So with that assumption, Adi was prepared for something bad.
So under the guise of checking his eggs, placing a palm on them to test their temperature, Adi looked out of the corner of his eye. But whatever it was skittered behind a large rock. Adi frowned and continued walking. He could hear the tap tap of something against rock. The blonde continued walking, discreetly looking back over his shoulder but never seeing what followed him. This process last for a good hour of searching. Adi found several gorgeous shells, including a lovely blue one that he was definitely going to save for the next time he saw Liam. He found some other nonconsequential items.
But it wasn't until he sat down for lunch that his pursuer made themselves known. Adi was biting into a sandwich when a Krabby came scuttling to his side. Adi looked down at the crab, which simply tucked itself up against his thigh, even tucking it's legs under it's body. Adi raised an eyebrow but just continued to eat his lunch after dishing out food for Tri and his Joltik pairs.
To be honest, he wasn't really interested in the Krabby other than he knew that it's coloration wasn't that of the norm. It was a shiny, which just meant it was yellow rather than your typical orange. But it made no move to get it's own food, and Adi was getting concerned as it seemed only interested in following him rather than taking care of itself. The blonde sighed, placing a handful of the pokefood in front of it. Which was gobbled up eagerly might I add. But when Adi made a move to stand up, the claw came up and grabbed the edge of his sleeve, preventing him from moving further. Adi blinked before sitting back down, the crab once again tucking itself partially under his thigh.
"You really like me huh?" Adi asked, the Pokemon's eyes opening to look at him before chittering at him. "Well, you're not the usual kind of Pokemon I'd train. But, if you are going to stick to me like this I might as well give it a shot. I don’twant you to not take care of yourself because of me." Adi sighed, fishing out a pokeball before tapping the button.

Adi was admittedly confused. Didn't the Krabby want to come with him? Had he misunderstood it's intentions? It had been following him for a couple of hours easily now. And it wasn't eating, shouldn't it have been hungry by now? Adi tilted his head, blonde locks falling into his eyes. Just what did it want?
The crab chittered, eyes narrowing slightly before one of it's claws was grabbing Adi's sleeve and tugging on it. It definitely wanted something? The it let go, raising it's claws and bubbling.
"You want to fight?" Adi asked, the crab chittering more aggressively. Well, it seemed it either wanted to earn it's spot on his team. Or wanted Adi to prove himself a good enough trainer. Well, that wasn't too hard, it was almost unfair really. He had the type advantage for certain, but he also didn't want Tri to completely knock it out. So, he had Ani and Tio, as eggs very obviously could not fight. He frowned, peeking towards the eggs as they began to twitch and pulse. He'd have to make it quick.
"Tio?" The blonde asked, extending an arm out. The white joltik in question clicked his approval, hurrying down Adi's arm as fast as his little legs could carry him. He jumped once he reached Adi's hand, already blasting the larger Pokemon with the strongest Powder Snow he could manage.

It didn't freeze the krabby like he had hoped, and the crab retaliated with a Leer. Tio cried out angrily and summoned up energy. A blue orb formed in front of his mouth, shooting out beams of blue light that began to rapidly freeze the air around the crab.

Once again it wasn't frozen, but it was definitely cold. Sluggishly it brought it's claws up to it's face and hardened it's body. Tio launched one more Freeze Dry at it.

And still no luck freezing it. Tio was angry, huffing and chittering, but was very quickly stopped by apaw. Tri nosed the Joltik, he had done good after all. But Tri sparked, sending a quick Thunder Wave at the crab. Adi retireved his ball, double checked it for damages before shrugging and tossing it at the now paralyzed crab.

His lazy summer was fading fast. Kaisei had made special arrangements to enjoy this day on a private islet, in the company of one Sayuri and ten eggs. Four of them sat in his bag, which was surrounded by a sand formation that was less a sand castle and more a fortress. Sayuri, delighting in the loose sand that made it impossible for her to get stuck in place, patted down the sides of the corner tower she had just assembled and and set to work building a second. Her eight tentacles carrying her to the water's edge in perfect coordination, she felt at the wet sand with a tip, then scooped up a clump in each of six tentacles before bringing herself back to the sand, balancing awkwardly on the only two that were still free.[break][break]
The other six eggs were Kaisei's Exeggcute, Niji. In the time they had spent working on the farm together, it appeared that a genuine friendship had formed between the two, piquing Kaisei's interest as to how they would behave outside of a strict work environment. In fact, it was Niji who had the original idea to build the "sand fortress" in the first place; he was convinced the eggs were going to hatch soon and wanted them to be as "protected" as possible when the time came. Kaisei was skeptical of this but saw no reason not to indulge his Pokemon. What was this trip if not a chance to indulge himself, after all.

There were a surprising amount of swarms active for this month, something which she wrote off to the rumblings of Ultra Beast activity she'd heard of over the past few days. While the subject filled her with trepidation and unease, dredging up old memories she'd just as soon forget (the mad flapping of wings, the death rattle of the great bird protecting her) she steeled herself with the knowledge she wouldn't be running into anything like that any time soon, especially not in areas filled with pokemon like this, and made her way out to route 3. More specifically, the beach bordering the route, which at this time of day was less clustered with trainers than she thought.
For the excursion - and for battling the inevitable Krabby that might pop up - she'd forgone taking Fembra and Reddy in favor of types with an advantage over water, of which she had very few. She had two of her eggs swaddled at her hip (Teddiursa and Darumaka, respectively) and was picking her way over rocky formations down to the flowing dunes of sand far below. Once she'd gotten to more stable ground she proceeded to go for a leisurely stroll along the waves, catching glimpses of the occasional Krabby before they scuttled into the waves or some dug out hole, waiting for one to cross her path with the want to battle.
No sooner had Faolan deliberated over stopping to maybe get some lunch or take a break altogether did a Krabby suddenly scuttle into her path, very carefully. It approached with its pincers lifted menacingly, staring her down with its beady little eyes as a spew of bubbles erupted from its mouth. She was familiar with the Gigantamaxed Kingler, and she found herself wondering if the bubbles were acidic in normal Krabbys. She doubted it, but she imagined it was best to take caution anyway.
Her hand sought out the pokeball at her belt, the one housing the Morelull, nudging aside one of the satchels containing a wriggling egg with muffled noise seeping through the fabric. It seemed like a short time for hatching, but she had been at it for some time so she imagined that her walking and scouring the beaches had something to do with it. The Morelull was released, and as it took a stand the Krabby pinched its claws together menacingly before the battle began.
With Morelull in position of not one, but two self-healing moves, and being at the same level as the Krabby, the battle was an easy win. A combination of Absorb and Moonlight ensured that any of the Krabby's attempts at whittling down its health was instantly thwarted, and try as it might the Krabby couldn't hold up with either Mud Shot or Metal Claw to try to turn the tide in its favor. The Krabby scuttled this way and that while Morelull remained firmly planted, occasionally Flashing to blind it before hitting it with another Absorb and sapping away its health.
In no time the Krabby was moving slower, sluggish as it tried to maintain its upright position with minimal health, but it was obvious to see the way this battle was going. Taking advantage of the crustacean's sluggishness, Faolan removed a pokeball from her belt and gave it a light toss, aiming it to smack the Krabby gently on top of its little pointed crown.
So the Krabby wouldn't go down without a fight, it seemed. Not wanting to completely knock it out and faint it - because she imagined it wasn't exactly catchable that way, and also, she'd prefer not to have that particular detail souring their relationship - Faolan looked to Morelull, who was gazing at the Krabby with a vacant smile on its face. Krabby pinched its little claws menacingly, and scuttled forward to begin the second round.
Like before, Morelull's combination of Moonlight coupled with the newly learned Mega Drain helped to sap the Krabby of both her health and her energy. The Krabby threw a few more moves into the mix, including a Hardening of its shell coupled with a Mud Shot and a few Metal Claws, but with Morelull being able to restore its health in increments through the battle, along with the type advantage, it was an easy enough battle.
Faolan looked at the Krabby, sizing it up before tossing the pokeball as the eggs in her satchel began to hatch.
