Marley blinked when he heard the sound of grunting up ahead. Was someone working down here? As he walked down the tunnel, he spotted a form in the dark...kicking? Getting closer, he was surprised to find a Hitmonlee, practicing its kicks. Now, any normal person would leave a fighting pokemon to their training. Marley was not a normal person.
"Oi!" he called out, getting the Hitmonlee's attention. Marley smirked and brought his arms up. "How'sabout a spar?"
The Hitmonlee, not expecting a human of all things to challenge her to a sparring match, blinked, before a wave fo excitement ran through her. She charged at Marley, swinging out a leg at him. Marley grinned, bracing himself as he brought an arm up to catch the kick. "Hehe, not bad!" he laughed, before swinging a punch. The Hitmonlee ducked back, avoiding the punch before swinging out a leg to trip him up. Marley jumped, the leg sweeping underneath him before he swung another fist, this time catching the Hitmonlee on the side of the 'head'. The fighting pokemon let out a grunt, before swinging a roundhouse kick, catching Marley in the side.
Marley grunted in pain, catching the leg and holding it against him. "Got some good legs on ya," Marley said with a pained laugh, before gripping her leg and swinging her around. The Hitmonlee let out a yelp as she was thrown against the wall. Hitmonlee grunted as she fell to the floor, before suddenly pushing herself off of the ground, both feet catching Marley in the stomach. The air was knocked from his lungs as he was knocked back against the wall.
As Marley tried to snap out of it, the Hitmonlee leaped out to deliver a flying kick. Without thinking, Marley brought his hand up.
Unaware that he had grabbed an Ultra Ball. The Hitmonlee's foot connected with the ball, and there's a flash of light at the surprised pokemon was pulled inside.

Marley blinked, before looking at the pokeball in his hand. Well, he certainly hadn't intended that. "Erm, sorry about that," he murmured, climbing to his feet. "Once I'm out of this cave, we'll have a proper sparrin' match." Heck, Brawly would be very happy to have a sparring partner. Tucking the Hitmonlee's pokeball away, Marley continued on his way through the cave.

Well, he was getting close to the end of this cave. He could see the light in the distance. And then, as Marley walked along, he felt something nudge against his foot. The lanky man blinked and looked down, seeing what appeared to be a large mushroom.
A large mushroom with legs and claws. A Parasect.
Marley blinked. "Oh, hey there." he spoke up, bending down. It was certainly a small thing for a Parasect. However, the little bug didn't seem to appreciate Marley accidently walking into him. The result was Marley getting a face full of spores.
"Gah! MotherF%$@er! Marley yelled out, falling onto his back and frantically trying to brush the spores out of his face. "Damn you!" he yelled out, grabbing a pokeball and throwing it at the Parasect. Lets see how it likes having something thrown at it.

Marley grunted as he brushed the rest of the spores out of his face. Well, that was that. He now had a Parasect. Picking up the pokeball, he looked down at it for a moment before tucking it away into his jacket. He could see some light at the end of the tunnel. He was almost out of here. Good. While Marley was normally fine underground, he really needed to get moving.
