Set in the original region of Arciel, Legends Rising is a route-inspired, but not strictly route-based, Pokemon roleplay. Pick a faction, pick a class, and strike out into the wild to take on the League, master Contest coordination, research the mysteries of Pokemon and Arciel, and much, much more. Will you be a classic trainer? A criminal? A farmer? Choose your destiny on Legends Rising.
To participate in the Swarm, first post in this thread looking for a Pokemon. A mod will tag you and reply with stats for one Pokemon you find, including color and possibly even evolution depending on the species. Reply again encountering and trying to capture the Pokemon. Once you succeed, do not post in the thread again.
You may only find one per character, no rerolls. This is to prevent spamming to find special Pokemon. If for any IC reason you need to encounter another, use the same stats originally rolled and pretend it's a different individual.
Pokemon in Swarms have a 20% chance of being a special coloration!
Pokemon in swarms have a +20% capture rate with any ball, and will never flee.
Swarms close at 11:59pm on the last day of each month. After that, no new encounters will be spawned. However, anyone who has an ongoing encounter that isn't yet finished has until 11:59pm on the 15th of the following month to finish trying to catch their encounter. After that, the thread will be locked and archived.
…Snubbull were very cute and Juni was hoping to high heavens to find a good canine companion for Fetch as he got older. That was why she was out there in the cold with her long tan trench coat and heavy winter boots and scarf with her signature old man dog Fetch by her side.
The Growlithe in question was sniffing around curiously on the search for any potential leads. He hadn’t been made partial to the connection that Juni hoped to establish between him and a wild Snubbull right then, though. All he knew was Juni was out here searching for one, so he might as well too. A scent caught his nose, and his head jolted up and searched out.
“Find one?” Juni asked starting to look around as well.

Cricket and her Litten decided to look for a wild Snubbull on this particular day. A gentle, fluffy snow fell from the sky, bringing the very bundled up Cricket in her scarf, hat, gloves, coat, two pairs of pants, and boots plenty of delight as she grinned up at the sky. She glanced around, then placed the fire cat onto the flatter part of the snow. It melted around him just a little, and he purred, sniffing around.
"It's beautiful out, Litten! What do you think?" The cat mrrowed at his trainer, flicking his tail, and then sat licking his front paw and running it over one ear carefully. "Now, be alert! We are looking for a new friend today, after all!" Cricket looked pumped, despite the cold.
A low growl reverberated through the area, and every hair on Juni’s body stood on end. “Wha—“ Fetch’s ears twitched, but he stood upright unhampered by the sound. A small yip came from him, a questionably friendly call. Rustling came and went, and a Granbull stood there squinting at the two of them.
“Woah….” Juni breathed not entirely believing what she was seeing. It… it didn’t look like a Granbull she had ever seen before. It was … brown? And striped? But its body was definitely that of a Granbull and—
A friendly bark from Fetch pulled Juni from her thoughts. She looked at the Growlithe as he happily walked over, tail wagging, and started to sniff around the Granbull. The latter looked at him warily, and Juni bit the inside of her mouth. Could they…. would they… possibly get along? The Granbull hesitated before sniffing Fetch. Fetch sniffed back, and they walked around each other in circles slowly smelling. The Ganbull growled, and Fetch lowered himself and wagged his tail. The Granbull eased up and snorted shaking his head. The Growlithe laughed and hopped around.
Oh… good… A soft smile pulled on Juni’s features, and she shook her head a little to clear it. This was good. They seemed to be… to be getting along alright. She stepped back and watched them play for a while just smiling softly to herslf. “Hey, Granbull! You wanna come with us?” she called tossing a Pokeball that way.
“Ah shoot…” Juni muttered under her breath as the ball snapped open immediately and released the Granbull. She hoped it wasn’t going to run or want to battle Fetch of all Pokemon. “Uh—“ But rather than either o fthose two things happening, the Granbull immediately started to bounce around Fetch again, and they were … playing again. Oh, ok. Maybe they just wanted to play a little longer. That was fine? She guessed? Standing back and watching the strange puppy pair play some more, she’d wait a little before trying again. “Would you consider coming with us? You could play all the time with Fetch…” she commented holding the ball out this time and waiting.
Play?! Now that got the Granbull's attention! A soft cry leaves his lips as he moves forward, booping the ball with his nose and joining Juni's team! One pokeball has been removed.

Cricket and Litten were both mildly startled by a low growl coming from.. inside of a snow drift? Concerned, Cricket approached the drift, looking it over this way and that, and decided it was safe to dig into with her hands. She dug just about a foot down and a Snubbull's head popped out! The Pokemon must have been digging beneath the snow and got stuck in this drift, poor thing. Cricket reached carefully into the hole and lifted the Pokemon out, placing it on the ground.
"Hi, Snubbull! Are you alright?" The Pokemon gave a shiver and a growl, and Cricket realized that must just be how this Pokemon talks, not a sign of aggression per se. "You're cold, huh? Here.. Do you want to get into my jacket?" Cricket unzipped her jacket about halfway before the Snubbull shook its head no. "Hm.. Then, Litten, can you help it?"
The black cat nodded and spat a little Ember onto the ground, using his paws to clear some of the snow away, then motioned to the Snubbull to get onto the ground, which was already a bit warm from Litten's Ember, then he snuggled into the dog Pokemon, keeping it warm with his own body heat. Cricket sat down with her legs on either side of the cleared area where the Pokemon were snuggled together, still warm enough in her winter clothes to not need more heat but not wanting to leave them alone either.
After a short rest, the Snubbull seemed to be thawed out and much happier. The Pokemon gave a happy growl and made as if it was going to leave, but Cricket said, "Wait, Snubbull! Why don't you come with us? We can keep each other out of trouble and journey together and be friends!"
The pink Pokemon turned around to face Cricket, who was already holding a Poke Ball in her hands.
Silas surveyed Route 1 for a moment before starting along it, gloved hands shoved in his pockets and face buried in his scarf. Psyche trotted along next to him, and he grumbled good-naturedly at her, "Aren't you cold? Your fur isn't that thick." The Riolu ducked her head in embarrassment, but Silas could tell she wasn't upset by the remark. It didn't take them long to see signs of the Snubbull that were in the area, for the snow both on and off the path was broken with paw tracks. Silas knew that Snubbull and its evolution didn't make the best guard dogs, but he was willing to put in the time to train one.
"Why don't you pick out one that would work well with us?" he suggested to Psyche, who yipped in surprise and stared at him. "Go on, I believe in you," he encouraged, raising his face from the scarf long enough to give her a smile. With a hesitant nod, the Riolu focused for a moment and then headed off the path following one of the many lines of pawpints.
Silas trudged through the snow for a few minutes until they came upon a small pack of Snubbull. The young man winced at the array of emotions that washed over him once he was in range, but politely stopped a little ways off from the group as the apparent leader broke off from the pack and swaggered up to them, growling faintly.
Psyche fled behind Silas' legs, but he patted her on the head and nodded at the Snubbull. "Hello there." It was bigger than the others, and was a different colour - dark brown with yellow markings instead of pink and blue. The Snubbull growled again, but Silas could sense that it was just for show. "How about a battle? Prove that you're strong enough to guard my farm, and you can come with me." The Snubbull perked up at that and barked in agreement.
"You're up, Psyche," he murmured, and the Riolu took a deep breath before dashing out from behind him and launching herself at her foe with Quick Attack. The Snubbull had good moves, Silas saw, nodding in approval as it used Fire Fang and Ice Fang alongside more standard moves like Tackle. Psyche was stronger though, retaliating with Counter for the stronger moves and Quick Attack for everything else.
Seeing the Snubbull stumble after being struck, he quickly threw a Pokeball.

Kairo actually somehow missed the news of a Snubbull Swarm appearing on Route 1 this month.. it wasn't sure how he managed to do that, but he was probably just too invested in caring for his newly adopted Tropius which seemed to be quiet the hassle to deal with.. but he wouldn't give him up so easily! so he was actually quiet surprised once he set out to Route 1 and not even shortly after entering it he already ran into one of the Canine Pokemons.. and another one.. in the beginning he tried to avoid them as best as possible, not sure if confronting any of them would be a good idea.. but in the end he didn't have much of a choice in it. Jultan deciding he had enough of just avoiding everything coming their way decided to take off and run straight ahead towards one of the Fairy types. "wait no! come back!" Kairo managed to yell before running after him and quickly calling him back into his Pokeball before he could use any of his moves on the surprised Snubbull in front of him.

"wow.." Kairo starred at the Snubbull for a full second, not believing what his eyes are showing him. the normally little Pokemon that could be picked up and cuddled was HUGE! maybe he should try catching it? i mean.. it might be a good partner to train Jultan with, since he would be the most close to the grass Pokemons size out of his whole team. yes, he would try! "H-Hey there big guy, i don't really want to hurt you so but i would like to be friends with you." Kairo stuttered a bit while slowly pulling out a few treats out of his pocket and holding them out to the big Snubbull in front of him. "here you can have these" he added and let them fall to the ground before picking out one of his few Pokeballs. "i got more treats if you go into this ball and join my team!"

a bit disappointed at his failed throw Kairo decided maybe it would be best to get a bit down close to the Pokemons actual height.. even thought it was very big, still smaller then Kairo himself of course. he knelled down on one knee and smiled softly at the pink Pokemon. "come now, i will give you a nice and warm home, food every day and ill make sure to get you a nice and cozy bed. you dont even need to stay in the Pokeball if you would prefer to be outside" he took out another of the pokeballs he carried on his person and held it towards the Pokemon while smiling at it. "you just gotta touch the ball and get inside if you would like to" he reminded the Snubbull and took out a few more snacks for the Pokemon "if you get inside ill give you some more of these"
