Big fluffy clouds traversed the skyline greying it into a murky questionable color. It was a snow-sky, one that threatened to drop anything from flurries to sheets of the powder white stuff. Staring up at it, Gabe could only frown softly in response. It was… only going to get colder as the season went on. For now, at least, his shirt, sweater, and jacket were enough to keep his top half insulated while his leggings under his jeans were enough to seal in his lower half. Cleated hiking boots had been exchanged for his traditional shoes and made some subtle crunching sounds as he walked down the path of Route 7.
Walking along next to Gabe was a brownish red Vulpix named Ignis who was much much much less affected by the cold and much much much more interested in the scenery around them. His tails all twitched in unison as his vision bounced from one snow covered tree to the next. This would be his first actual winter and he was more than excited to experience it. At least until something caught his eye and his focus changed. That color stood out against the white! What was it? A call escaped from him before he went bounding forward to examine. Gabe jolted from his thoughts and watched as he did so—
Bounding right into a snowbank and fishing up a frozen berry in his mouth. A small laugh escaped from Gabe. “My what a treat there…” he teased stopping to extend a gloved hand to Ignis. The Vulpix refused to hand it over, though, and instead went bounding in the opposite direction to find some place to lay down and munch on it if possible. Gabe’s brow quirked, but he righted himself, set a hand on his hip, and just sort of watched.

tag notes hover pkm for info | "W-Wai-- Arg!!" The shrill cry of a feminine voiced echoed across the snowy plains. "I swear... when I catch you...!"
Raising Pokemon had never come naturally to Amyrie. In school, she excelled in her battling studies and performed well enough on the test rounds, but actually managing and teaching a Pokemon? There's a reason she veered hard away from being labeled a Trainer by any standard. Her Pokemon were companions and bodyguards during her travels. Nothing more.
So why on this green earth did she pick such a troublemaker?
Salvation -- her Weavile -- was a handful. The species itself was incredibly intelligent and prone to being restless. A pack animal with a strong desire to hunt and chase. On top of that, the Pokemon came with some serious baggage. Pride and stress mixed an awful cocktail of unruly behavior from the Pokemon forced to evolve at such a young age. Ever since day one, the Dark type walked a fine line of being tense and stoic, to aggressive and prone to explosive outburst for no discernible reason.
If it wasn't obvious, paying little to nothing for this "problem child" had been an impulse buy.
Now, here Amyrie was, sprinting through shin-high snow in pursuit of her problem child. One minute they were walking peacefully along one of the winding side paths along Route 7, the next Salvation's ears twitched and... Well...
The blur of black and red crested the small hill, pausing only to sniff the air and then focus her attention on her prize: a brightly colored berry. Salvation glanced over her shoulder, back down the hill, tilted her head as if to consider what to do next, and then looked forward. She didn't hesitate for much longer than that before a cloud of snow was kicked up and she nearly disappeared in a burst of speed.
As easy as it would have been to just snatch the berry straight from the canine's mouth, it seemed the Dark side of Salvation wasn't very strong today. She came to a bouncing stop just a few feet from the Fire type and extended a claw.
Gemme, gemme, was the near-universal understanding of the way she waggled her claws expectantly at the fox.
Just as she did, Amyrie lumbered up the hill. More like a mountain when you're trying to push through so much snow. Her face was red and thick clouds wheezed from her dry lips. Trembling knees just managed to reach the top of the hill before she doubled over them, gasping and panting.

Ignis had found a nice little spot to lay down and much on the berry. Though he could have burned it up and consumed it on the spot, he was actually having fun sinking his sharp teeth into the ice and occasionally chomping on a berry. As the blur of red and black came up to him, though, he looked up and tilted his head to one side. What? She wanted his? No! He bit down harder on the berry, stood up on all fours again, and backed up a step unwilling to part with it.
Gabe, meanwhile, had been moving at a slower pace towards Ignis. He hadn’t been in a rush to take the berry from him and wasn’t in a rush to get off the route right then. As the flurry of color bounding across his field of vision, however, he found himself walking much quicker to close the distance between himself and Ignis. “Ig—“ And right after the trainer of this Weavile came collapsing up the bluff. “Nis….” Gabe’s eyes flicked from the Weavile to its trainer and back again.
Ignis growled a little more still irritated that this creature was trying to take his hard-earned treat away! (Never mind it had been found by chance alone. ) A fire boiled in his stomach and rather quickly burned up the berry before he chomped down on it hard and fast eating it up to taunt the Weavile. A small puff of air escaped from Gabe. His attention flicked to the trainer. “Are you alright?” he started around towards her.
