Set in the original region of Arciel, Legends Rising is a route-inspired, but not strictly route-based, Pokemon roleplay. Pick a faction, pick a class, and strike out into the wild to take on the League, master Contest coordination, research the mysteries of Pokemon and Arciel, and much, much more. Will you be a classic trainer? A criminal? A farmer? Choose your destiny on Legends Rising.
Three optional icebreaker questions are offered: 1. If you could be granted three wishes, what would they be? 2. What is the cheesiest pickup line you have heard? 3. If your friends compared you to a Pokemon, which Pokemon would it be?
Feel free to discuss any of these or use your own icebreaker!
What a stellar career opportunity! The moment this valentines thing had been advertised Eri had signed up- not because she wanted to date people, nuh-uh, star guides weren't allowed to date stares- rather- it's a perfect way to get clients! She'd made up business cards o'plenty, tarot cards with her name, her contact details, her services, all that cosmic stuff! And of course, when arriving to the event it was no surprise she was in the company of so many shining stars, their radiance simply indescribable! She couldn't wait to meet some of them and possibly get new clients, or even new friends!
Of course, it wouldn't be appropriate if she didn't look her best! Unlike her usual ringlets Eri'd put her hair up in spacebuns, adored with some space ribbons and clips, and of course finished off with glitter spray! Who was she if she had forgotten sparkles, anyway?! Her dress was a little less floofy than her usual ones, though still very obvious lolita inspired. It might have been... a bit cold- but Eri didn't care! First impressions always mattered!
As she found her seat and table Eri began fiddling with her business cards, each with a different tarot on the back, pausing for a moment to read over the card on the table with the details of whoever she was supposed to meet with- uh- wait a second! She knew that name! Koray... Koray! He was at this thing?
He already knew about her business- oh! But she could show him her new business cards and ask for his opinion! Maybe give him some to pass around to the other people he met with! Eri adjusted how she was sitting now, smoothing out her skirts and adjusting how she sat in her seat so she could bounce her legs a little. She was excited for this business presentation to commence. At the appearance of a familiar figure approaching Eri's mouth settled into a large beam and she brought a hand up in a wave. "Sirius!"
While Koray wasn't exactly sure if he was ready to put himself out there, the speed dating event sounded fun enough. So he'd signed up and hoped that there would at least be a chance to make some new friends if nothing else. He had chosen to wear more casual clothes and had donned a black t-shirt under a dark brown jacket with a white fleece trim. His black pants and dark brown boots completed the ensemble. Koray looked neat and perhaps a little cool, but in comparison to some of the other people he was seeing... he felt rather out of place.
Well, that was until he saw who his first date for the evening was going to be. Eri's coming? Koray hadn't expected that in the slightest, but was pleased nonetheless. It helped him to calm down a little and not be near as nervous as earlier. Eri's dress was beautiful... if not exactly appropriate for the weather, but it was dazzling nonetheless. Without thinking about it, he went up to her and kissed her cheek before sitting down at the table. It... might have been a bit forward to do that, but well, it was a date. "I didn't expect to see you here~," Koray mused, smiling warmly at her. Things always seemed to be a little brighter when Eri was around.
"Oh, there's a few ice breaker questions at the table. Do you want to do those?"
Now, what Eri was expecting was Sirius to sit down and her to get her mock business presentation underway! She was already shuffling her business tarot cards and was fairly certain he'd be a decent judge of how well she did! Of course, the girl was completely startled out of her thoughts as the star... kissed... her cheek?! Is that customary for these things!? She hadn't looked up the proper customs online for it- but?? A confused squeak left her mouth and her face flushed, eyes narrowing ever so slightly at the perpetrator of the crime! That's- he's not supposed to do that!
The girl clicks her tongue, a mumbled "O-Only my mummas are allowed to do that?" Leaving her- ugh! She had no idea what to do now! Her head was fuzzy, thanks a lot Sirius. She focused on shuffling her cards for a moment, not saying anything until her mind was at peace and the stars were once more aligned, perfect! As he spoke suddenly it was clear- oh he thought she was here for dating! Noooo! "Ah- I'm here on business, actually! There's so many stars around, it's a great way to get my name out there!"
She showed him the cards now that were in her hand, looking farrrr too proud of herself for her idea to use a place where stars all gather to hand out cards. "...ice breaker questions?" Eri blinked, tilting her head. "...I was just gonna get whoever I was paired with to do a tarot reading- wait oh! You tell me, what's the better option? Surely a star knows best!"
Koray certainly didn't miss the way Eri blushed when he kissed her cheek. Was that too forward? It was technically a date so it shouldn't be anything out of the ordinary? And it wasn't like he kissed her on the lips. Confused, Koray raised his hands in surrender when she narrowed her eyes at him. Of course then the mumble made sense. Oh, was that what she thought? A soft chuckle followed that, "This is a date, Eri. Have you never been on one? It's not like I kissed you, relax. I won't do anything else," Koray assured, smiling warmly at her, "You look beautiful, by the way."
Another confused expression came and went from Koray's face as she explained why she was there, that there was a purpose to it. Business? "That's... not what speed dating's about though? I mean, you could absolutely mention it, but it shouldn't be the focus of your time with someone," Koray explained briefly, shrugging a little before asking about the ice breaker questions.
Eri's confusion at this however made Koray blink slowly. Did she not see the card on the table with them? "Yes? Icebreakers are a way to get conversation started. It helps break awkward silence between two strangers. Not that it's a problem with us but they're usually pretty fun," Koray explained before Eri stated what she had planned for the date. Hmmm, that could be fun certainly. He didn't know much about tarot cards anyway. Though when she immediately gave the decision over to him, Koray shook his head. "Eri, we've been over this. I'm not a star, and we can do both, there's still time. Please, stop telling me I know best. That's not always true," he sighed, rubbing his face a little, "What do you want to do?"
As he relented she moved to shuffle through the business cards now, it was fine if he didn't wanna do tarot readings, she'd give him a few cards anyway- oh! And extra to give whatever other stars he met! At his words though the girl faltered... Has she ever been on a date? "Star guides aren't allowed to date." She said simply, with a shrug of her shoulders, "But the stars told me this would be a stellar opportunity! I even painted up these tarot cards- there's glitter and everything!" At his compliment Eri fidgeted, bringing a hand to bush at one of her buns. "I...uh..." So... maybe her cheeks were a little pink, but... whatever! "I have to make my best first impression with possible clients! So- good thing it worked out!"
Yep. Good one Eri. The girl was back to shuffling her business cards, date this, date that- maybe this wasn't the best event to go to for star seeking after all.. but now that she's here she can't waste the opportunity! Don't falter or delay, sell yourself! "I mean... speed dating...could be just presenting business strategies and convincing people to buy your stuff- or to use you if necessary for whatever their stellar selves require!" Like if they needed help towards their future, she was glad to offer herself!
The rest of his works kinda went over her head, the girl slightly bummed that he didn't seem to understand her goal for this night, but it was fine! With as much determination as possible she went, "We've been over this. You're a star, and everything is up to the stars- it shouldn't be my decision when there's a star right before me, that's just cosmically rude." She pouted then, and set her tarot cards down infront of her, six face-down on the table.
"...If you wanna do the stars version of a tarot reading... pick one." The cars seemed to be fairly painted, the backsides only visible as of current with Eri's stores logo and her details. She sat with a smile on her face, raising an eyebrow, "Or... if you wanna do an icebreaker, ask a question! The choice, star, is up to you!"
When Eri explained that star guides (that was what she called herself, right) weren't allowed to date, Koray just stared at her. That... made no sense? Eri was an adult? "You're... kidding, right?" Koray asked, hoping that he'd misheard about the whole dating thing, "I mean, you're an adult and can make your own choices?" he continued, only smiling again when Eri blushed at his comment about her beauty.
Of course Eri still went on about business strategies and the like, Koray had to fight the urge to groan, "Did you... hear anything I just said?" he asked, rubbing his face a little. The thing about the stars was really starting to grate on his nerves but Koray only rolled his eyes and waved a hand dismissively. He didn't understand how saying she could choose what they did was rude and shook his head after that.
While he could've argued about how it wasn't his right to chose or make all the decisions, Koray instead shut his mouth and opted to choose a tarot card, completely ignoring the follow up question. Eri had expressed interest in doing a tarot reading, so that was what they were going to do... even if the way she'd gone about it annoyed him to no end. "Alright. How about my future then?" Koray hummed, not really putting much stock in this whole tarot business. Either way he held out the card he'd chosen to Eri.
As he spoke the girl raised an eyebrow, "...No... not kidding! I do everything for the stars, and it's fairly wrong and inappropriate to date then when my whole life is focused on appeasing them!" A nod, then, as if she was happy with her explanation. She shifted a little then to brush at her fringe, sometimes... life would be better if she was a star, she'd get to enjoy things they did- but giving up appeasing the stars? Talking to the celestials? Seeing a star becoming the brightest they can be? That's rewarding and lets her know her life is all worth it. "And... I can't.. really... if a choice goes against a stars well wishes? It's very frowned upon by the celestials!"
She really wanted to get around to whatever Koray wanted! Did he wanna have his fortune told orrr... did he wanna do the question things! Whatever the star wanted, Eri was obliged to do! As he brought up her... having not listened Eri had to force a pout, no, she totally listened! "...Yeah? I was listening- I wouldn't not pay attention to somebody really bright..."
Did... it seem like she wasn't? Ahhh, that's not what she wanted at all! What if she made the star mad? Uhhhm... er.. before she could dwell on it further Koray picked up one of the cards she'd set out, and her face brightened significantly! Alllright!

Eri flipped the two cards over next to what Koray had picked up, meaning three in total had been turned. The cards seem all the be hand-painted, with art of stars and a bunch of glitter. The card Koray's holding seems to be 'gemini - the lover' while the two upturned are 'cygnus - the guide' and 'scorpius - the passion'. She smiles, "Oh! That's actually stellar!" She points to the card he's holding, "I'm gonna need you to go into this with an open mind, okay Sirius? This isn't my usual type of prediction."
She moves to grab the other two cards and peers at them, "So... your main card is the lover, with your minimal fates also being... passion and guide." A breath, then a smile. Looking to the skies (or rathe, to the roof) she took a deep breath, channeling all she had... concentrate, Eri! "A dancer. Your future is guided by your love and passion for dance- I see you on a stage, engulfed by the stars of the stage." She holds a finger over the passion card, "A passion will guide you far in life- the kitchen, restaurant... I see warmth, surrounded by happiness. A passion held for everything you do- dishes everchanging." She brought her hand back and re-turned the cards before her, moving to point to the one in his hands.
"...And the lover." She brought her hands to her chest and closed her eyes, "..I see...A vision of happiness. Friends and family engulf you, proud, supportive. Whisps of... purple- life with a girl. I see pain, frustration- the inability to let go- passion momentarily lost- but." Eri reels herself back then, scooping her cards towards her and shuffling, as if she was done. "The guide brings you back towards your passion, and all isn't lost! What a stellar set of predictions!"
Koray could hardly believe what he was hearing. Arceus, whoever had convinced Eri that this star thing made it wrong to date was clearly bullshitting her. That was... so bizaare. No wonder Eri had no clue what she was supposed to do on these dates. Whatever, he wasn't going to respond to anymore of this star stuff though he would make a mental note about not being able to go against a star's wishes. He hated the very idea that Eri might not be free to make her own choices but... maybe there was a way to phrase a request precisely so she could do what she wanted to. Heh, that would require some thought to say the least of things.
After handing the card to Eri, Koray sat back and waited to see what this 'prediction' had in store for his future. At the statement prefacing the prediction, he just shrugged and placed the card down in front of him. It looked like the cards had been hand made with a bunch of glitter all over them. Ugh, it would take forever to get all the specks of glitter off his hands. Lover, passion, and guide? That seemed a little strange... though it did make his stomach turn at what this lover card might be.
As Eri started to explain, Koray felt the blood drain from his face. Sure he'd talked to Eri about the restaurant and being a chef... but not about being a dancer. That was one of his secrets, one that he was loathe to share with anyone. Well, ever since Ara at any rate. The lover card held pain too and Koray was quickly shaking his head. It sounded too good to be true... so that meant it wasn't true. It just couldn't be. After a few moments of silence, Koray cleared his throat and looked back at the icebreakers. "Achem... anyway... If your friends compared you to a Pokemon, which Pokemon would it be?" No, his hands weren't shaking, not one bit. Just...just focus on the questions... he could survive this.
Eri sincerly couldn't tell if he liked her tarot predictions or not, but she did nudge the card back towards him. Maybe the stars had messed with her with what she'd been told? Well... whatever! If the star didn't wanna mention anything, that was his choice! "It's also a business card, star, you're supposed to keep it! I have doubles- oh! And did you want more to give your other dates?" The girl moved to her bag again, wrestling through it to come up with a handful more of cards, attempting to pass them in Koray's direction.
As he spoke again Eri blinked, oh?! An icebreaker? Yeah! Those things Koray mentioned! The girl moved to pack up her cards for now as she hummed softly, "...I don't have many friends- mainly clients. But... fellow star guides have said i'm similar to Clefairy! Something about how I carry myself along in life?" She tilted her head, "...Though Clefairy are their own star-guide, I shouldn't be compared to them..."
A finger to her chin then, "...Oh! I'm supposed to ask you the same thing too, right? What pokemon??"
Arceus, his hands just wouldn't stop shaking. That prediction had really spooked him and Koray was finding it hard to stay calm. Even when Eri told him to keep it, he didn't... really want to. Not when it would remind him of the prediction that was... way too good to be true. He'd take only the one he'd chosen and waved his hand when she offered more. She'd be able to advertise without his help, of that Koray was certain.
Thank Arceus she took the bait and went on to say she was a Clefairy. Oh, right. That made a lot of sense, actually. "What about Clefable? They're really beautiful and rare," Koray mused, smiling more before the question was turned back to him. Oh... well, that was a little harder and perhaps dark but umm... "I guess a ghost type. Probably a Phantump, like Rowan. Something that can turn invisible... but I also have an affinity with ghosts and... spirits in general." At least his hands had stopped shaking. That was something.
He wasn't taking her cards?? Well... she guesses that's fine. She'll just hand out more to whoever else she's matched with, easy! As he suggested Clefable Eri shook her head a few times, "It doesn't fit! They're verrry rare, it's something much more fitted for a star.- the terms 'beautiful' and 'rare' are simply super fitting!" that and Clefable were basically star guide royalty. As he likened himself to a ghost type, specifically a phantump she grinned, "Ooooh! I can see that! Phantump's also have the healing leaves right? You already have a great presence, i'm sure you're able to 'heal' peoples moods and stuff, there's no wonder you're so stellar, Sirius!"
As she moved to point at him, she paused, squinting at his hands... either she had too much sugar before coming here and was slightly jittery or the dude was shaking? Eri leaned slightly closer, almost without realizing. "...Uhm..." She raised her eyes to his, "Either the stars are meddling with me, or you're shaking- was my prediction really that bad? I knew I should have done the normal way and not through tarot!" She was pouting now, "Maybe my luck in Arciel really is just as bad as it was in Johto- the stars just wanna mess with me, and the stars?? I have a drink card- do you wanna drink?"
At the rebuttal about choosing a Clefable instead, Koray sighed and shook his head. He didn't agree with her words in the slightest but at the same time knew better than to try and change her mind here. There just wasn't time. Still, he did his best to smile and still the shaking when Eri talked about his choice of pokemon. Shrugging his shoulders as she continued on about being able to heal people. He didn't think that was true but again, there wasn't enough time to contest her.
Arceus dammit.... Of course Eri would notice the shaking in his hands. Of course she would think that it was because of her prediction. Another shake of his head, "No... it was... actually really good," Koray whispered, trying to keep his voice even, "But... it can't happen..." he continued before looking at the icebreaker card. Right, was there enough time for another one? It looked like time was running out.
"Uh-... umm, if you could be granted three wishes, what would they be?" That should hopefully distract them from the elephant in the room. At least until the next date started.
Eri was frankly even more confused as he spoke again, after a beat of silence- it was... really good?! So- she got stuff right???! Her expression lit up and she reeled back then, bringing a hand to her forehead and letting out an exaggerated 'phew'. "Stars! I'm glad- I thought they were for sure meddling with me! I'll have to jot it down then to be able to better determine what was seen!" An excited nod, however as he said it... can't happen her expression dropped slightly. "...huh? But it's fated! Which means it's gonne happen- and if you don't think it will..." Eri paused, then pointed to herself, "It's my job to help people to their fates, Sirius! I can help you!" Another pause, "...but then why are you... shaking?"
Before she could get into it he asked another question and Eri furrowed her brows. "...Well... i'd probably only wish one thing!" A head tilt, "For all the stars in this world, and all other worlds to shine as bright as possible and be happy- they deserve it... everybody should achieve their fates, and be able to sparkle!" Hands brought together then, and she grinned, Koray's shaking forgotten. "And i'd put the other two aside for any stars who need it more than me, even if they're all happy there'll still be others who need it!"
Before she could repeat the question back there was the sound of an alarm going off, signalling the end, and Eri's eyes widened. "Oh?! Already??" She quickly put everything she could back into her bag, "Stars, time goes so quick! Guess i've got another star to entertain- ah- but if you do need me you know where I live, and you have my number- my emails also on the card you've got~"
She beamed then, and moved to stand up, slinging her bag over her shoulder and pulling her skirts out in a mock curtsy. "I hope the other stars treat you well tonight, Sirius~ you'll blow them away, being as stellar as you are."
As Eri looked relieved that the prediction was a good one, Koray did his best to smile even though the shaking never did really cease. The stars were messing with her? Huh, that was rather odd. He didn't really think that was possible, but at the same time, who knew when it came to premonitions. Thankfully he was able to distract Eri from trying to help him with the prediction (and from his constant shaking) when he asked about the wishes.
Somehow, he knew she was going to say that. It sounded like an 'Eri' thing to say for lack of a better term. Mmm, maybe there was something she wanted, really wanted aside from something that sounded pretty. Of course, before Koray got the chance to ask, the bell rang indicating time was up. Saved by the bell. In more ways than one. Standing up, Koray leaned forward to kiss Eri's cheek once more, giving her a soft smile.
"Have fun, Eri~. Try to remember it's not all business," Koray mused, waving goodbye to her before waiting to see who his next partner would be.
