With his two pokemon, an Azurill and and a Goomy, Andy was now ready to get started journeying along Arciel. The day proving to be great if a little bit on the windy side, but that didn't really bother Andy at all or Quartz, though Aqua was being buffeted a bit thanks to the breeze as she bounced alongside, The trio looking around to take in the view of the serene area for a bit before continuing on again, Aqua having a bit of fun along the hills rolling around on the grass a bit with the Goomy inching along the grass slowly with Andy going extra slow for the moment to not leave her behind, though this only lasts for a minute before they both move on, now at a decent walking pace
For now the area, was very open and expansive, what kind of things would they see as they move along? Only way was to to move on and find out, would it be pokemon or another human possibly? All 3 of them rather excited to see what would happen, Quartz being on the hunt for pokemon mainly. Why she was looking for pokemon was Andy's guess, high-spirited battler or wasshe more a benevolent sort? Who knows?

Jazz had heard about some new trainers getting into trouble on Route 1 and had decided to go patrolling of their own volition. It usually was pretty calm on the route, but last time they'd gone with a few rangers, all chaos had broken loose. Maybe it had just been poor luck, but still. It didn't hurt to double check that everything was alright.
Sure enough, there seemed to be what looked like a new trainer with an adorable Azurill and Goomy. Well now, that was quite the special one. Releasing Pup just in case, Jazz walked up to the assumed trainer with a wave. From first glance, it didn't look like they were a ranger as they were dressed in jeans, some comfortable boots, a teal long-sleeve shirt and a black, fur-lined heavy jacket. Still, their normal attire was much warmer than the ranger uniform and this wasn't exactly official business anyway. Their long green hair was pulled back in a loose braid and wrapped around one shoulder mostly to keep it out of the way as much as create a makeshift scarf.
"Hey there, surprised anyone's out here in this freezing weather. You doing alright?" Jazz asked kindly while their Lucario nodded and waved, "My name's Jazz and this is Pup. Are you new around here?"
While the pokemon questions are yet to be answered, one thing was for sure, it was freezing cold now! "Well this is what i brought a jacket for" he remarks before setting the 2 pokemon down for a moment and pulling out a heavy jacket. The jacket, unlike the rest of his outfit, was more designed for function rather than fashiion in this type of weather. It being a black color with fur lining the hood area, it was also made to be a bit big for him but it surely worked, Andy being warmer after 4 minutes of walking with it on, or should that be waddling with how bulky it was.
Two minutes later from behind him came a voice "Hey there, surprised anyone's out here in this freezing weather. You doing alright, "My name's Jazz and this is Pup. Are you new around here?"
Andy turns slowly thanks to the jacket he recently put on noticing that this person was far more prepared for this weather in a scarf, a heavy jacket boots the whole nine yards. "Yes I am new here sir, i am mainly out here for pokemon and to explore this new Region. Though I didn't expect to do it in such cold weather so early," a sheepish smile following this response. "At least i did bring a jacket in case weather like this didoccur. Goomy looking a little uncomfortable in the cold weather while Azurill is just fine giving a few squeaks in greeting to this new person. "My name is Andy Richter, the blue cutie down there is Aquamarine and this goomy here is Quartz, though she is a little uncomfortable in this weather. he frowns putting Quartz into the bag for the moment.
At being called 'sir', Jazz tilted their head and hummed. They hadn't exactly been trying to dress masculine that day, in fact they had even used a bit of makeup to bring out their eyes and just experiment with what looked good and what didn't. Mmm, they'd correct the kid after they finished explaining what they were doing on this route. Besides, it wouldn't do to alienate a newbie to the region. Even if Jazz wasn't exactly on duty that day, they still needed to make sure that the kid, Andy, felt welcome.
As the pokemon were introduced, Jazz bent down to greet them, smiling warmly at the two adorable babies, "Nice to meet you two~," they hummed, patting both of them. The Goomy was put in Andy's bag which Jazz approved of, the poor dear had to be cold, but then Pokemon were far more resilient than humans were. Standing fully, Jazz nodded at Andy's explanation, "Indeed~, though I'm impressed you found a Goomy so early in your journey. They're quite rare~" they mused, smiling a little before putting a hand on their cheek in thought.
"I prefer they/them pronouns currently, by the way~," Jazz hummed, tucking a stray strand of hair behind their ear, "Welcome to Arciel, by the way~, if there's anything I could help you with, please don't hesitate to ask~. For now however, perhaps you wouldn't mind riding one of my pokemon to speed up the journey to the next town~?"
With that, Jazz would release their Druddigon and Skiddo in front of them. Ryuu yawned, not exactly appreciating being awoken from his nap. Meanwhile, Willow bleated and looked curiously at Andy while Jazz put a hand on her head. "This is Willow, she's a sweetheart and I think she'll be able to give you and your pokemon a lift easily enough. Ryuu can carry me, Pup can keep up with us easily enough," Jazz explained, gesturing for their Skiddo to go up to Andy. Willow did as she was told and looked up at Andy expectantly, wondering if he was going to get on. Jazz meanwhile climbed on Ryuu who let out a whining growl. Fiiine he would be just fine with this... though he better get a lot of treats later!
The two pokemon gave little squeaks and a "Goo!" at them before he was put into the bag
"Indeed~, though I'm impressed you found a Goomy so early in your journey. They're quite rare~"
"Well i more adopted the little cutie, she has been through alot thanks to a trainer that subjected her to alot of abuse before she taken to adoption center." a visible scowl now on Andy's face as he says this, considering Jazz is a ranger perhaps they knew what Andy was talking about. Andy despised people like that, the scowl going away after he takes a breath.
"Welcome to Arciel, by the way~, if there's anything I could help you with, please don't hesitate to ask~. For now however, perhaps you wouldn't mind riding one of my pokemon to speed up the journey to the next town~?"
"Sure,it would take me quite awhile to traverse this route on my own, thank you," he replies as Jazz releases two pokemon from pokeballs.
"This is Willow, she's a sweetheart and I think she'll be able to give you and your pokemon a lift easily enough. Ryuu can carry me, Pup can keep up with us easily enough,"
Andy smiles as the little goat trots up to him, "Aww, she is adorable, I may even try getting my own at some point. Also sorry for calling you by the wrong pronoun" he apologizes before getting onto willow as carefully as possible. Sure she looked like she could have no problem supporting his weight, but she was still just a little kid. "Are you alright Willow?" he asks mainly expecting either a bleat or nothing saying otherwise. It didn't matter if it was his own or someone else's pokemon, he would always look to be this careful with them.
At the explanation of the Goomy, Jazz gave a nod, a softer smile coming to their features. Yes, it was really too bad that some Pokemon were abused. Some people just weren't cut out to be trainers but given how calm and happy the Goomy appeared to be, Jazz trusted that she was in good hands. A hum would be given as Andy promptly ignored their correction on the use of pronouns before a shrug would be given. They wouldn't rescind their offer to help but didn't have any desire to stick around beyond that anymore.
As the Skiddo and Druddigon were released and explanation given, Jazz watched as Willow obliged Andy and waited to be mounted. The affirmative sound in response earned a laugh from Jazz before noting that Andy had in fact apologized. Ah, that's a little better. Another shrug would be given as Jazz climbed on Ryuu, urging both their pokemon onward thereafter. " 's no big deal, really~. Willow's a good girl, she's stronger than she looks." With that, Jazz urged their Druddigon to move faster. They picked up speed that Willow quickly mimicked, giving an excited bleat at the race of sorts.
"What brought you to Arciel in the first place?" Jazz opted to ask in way of conversation, giving a brief glance to make sure that yes, Pup was still following them easily. Of course the Lucario had no trouble keeping up. That's my girl~.
Andy continues riding Willow the Skiddo for now after making that mistake with pronouns. Jazz easing Andy's worries a bit concerning the weight tolerance of Willow. Willow's a good girl, she's stronger than she looks." The wind picking up quickly thanks to the kid galloping through the grass. It's at this point that he recalls a racer by the name of Josh, "Perhaps I could try getting a Skiddo myself and racing against him...nah." that rather silly idea of being rival to Josh, at least on the racing circuit, going out of his mind as quickly as it went in, he would have to not be sent tumbling along the grass should Willow suddenly stop.
However, now he felt like a dweeb for just messing that up, "So much for making a good first impression" he thought annoyed at himself. Well at least he was able to slightly smooth things over with an apology, hopefully, Jazz didn't see him as a no-mannered tourist.
Thankfully, Jazz seems to ignore this for now asking instead about what brought Andy to Arciel in the first place."I look to become a nurse here Jazz. While I do have a bit of experience using really only potions and berries, I look to expand upon that here caring for the pokemon here, maybe eventually opening a Pokemon Center of my own if possible. he would explain to Jazz, while the 'race' continues.
That is until Andy would catch a glimpse of a pokemon in a little lake that was coming up fast "Hey Jazz, you see the two pokemon by the river? Perhaps we can have our pokemon practice with them?" she picking on pokemon that were just going about the day was at least in bad taste, to say the least, but he did know they had to battle to get stronger, not to mention Andy realized it would be a mirror match he would be faced with which would be interesting, to say the least. That plan was scrapped by the Goomy making excited noises upon seeing the two pokemon. "You really want to battle huh?" Andy would sigh at the eager drake "Sure, let's see how you do against the other Azurill there."
Goomy couldn't be happier, she would finally get to show she wasn't some weak pokemon that was only a punching bag. She would wait for Andy to give the order for now, really only because Willow was still mobile.
Looking over at Andy as he explained why he was in Arciel, Jazz hummed a bit. That was a noble pursuit, and it did make their opinion of the boy raise ever so slightly. Perhaps there was hope for him yet. It seemed that he was still so young though and had quite a bit to learn about caring for pokemon. "That's a pretty big dream there," Jazz mused, already spotting what appeared to be a Shellos that was in trouble. Oh dear... They only had to exchange glances with Pup before the Lucario went bounding over to the river where the Shellos was struggling to cross and picked her up, cradling the small Shellos to her. While the Shellos did seem startled to find herself suddenly in the Lucario's arms, the calming aura helped her to relax.
Andy's comment about using the young pokemon as 'practice' didn't endear Jazz to them in the slightest. Sighing, they gave a small shake of their head. "Lesson one, Andy. Not all pokemon are as battle ready as you might think. Learn to judge when to fight, and when to talk. There are more ways to get stronger than just by battling." Taking the Shellos from Pup's arms, Jazz looked her over. "Shhh, it's alright little one, I'm here to help~." That seemed to soothe the Shellos at least a little bit. Ah, but it appeared there were some berries nearby... or perhaps there was a move the Shellos knew? Either way, it was better safe than sorry.
Climbing off of Ryuu for the time being, Jazz picked a few berries and fed them to the Shellos. That seemed to help perk her right up but it would be best to get her to a pokecenter first. Willow meanwhile was a little conflicted given Jazz's disapproval and gave an uncertain bleet. She would go closer to the Azurill, but only enough that she wouldn't be seen as a threat to him.
"Lesson one, Andy. Not all pokemon are as battle ready as you might think. Learn to judge when to fight, and when to talk. There are more ways to get stronger than just by battling."
Well that was as clear a 'nope' as he was ever going to get, rather wise words as well. While Jazz tends to the Shellos for the moment, Andy would dismount Willow and approach the fellow Water Mouse along with Aqua herself. The mouse, like the Shellos seemed to be quite the cautious one, just watching the two for the moment. This mouse didn't seem to be harmed in ways he could tell, scared but not harmed and he certainly wasn't going to do anything like that now. Meanwhile, Aqua would try chatting with the fellow mouse, "Hello, is everything alright?" Aqua only being met with silence and the other mouse practically scanning Andy just watching what he would do.
This being to get down to eye level with the mouse and look to give it a few pets on the head to hopefully get the point across that he didnt mean any harm. Aqua giving a bit of help with this by actually explaining that to the other pokemon, whether it would listen and believe her was to be seen. Jazz Johnson
