Set in the original region of Arciel, Legends Rising is a route-inspired, but not strictly route-based, Pokemon roleplay. Pick a faction, pick a class, and strike out into the wild to take on the League, master Contest coordination, research the mysteries of Pokemon and Arciel, and much, much more. Will you be a classic trainer? A criminal? A farmer? Choose your destiny on Legends Rising.
To participate in the Swarm, first post in this thread looking for a Pokemon. A mod will tag you and reply with stats for one Pokemon you find, including color and possibly even evolution depending on the species. Reply again encountering and trying to capture the Pokemon. Once you succeed, do not post in the thread again.
You may only find one per character, no rerolls. This is to prevent spamming to find special Pokemon. If for any IC reason you need to encounter another, use the same stats originally rolled and pretend it's a different individual.
Pokemon in Swarms have a 20% chance of being a special coloration!
Pokemon in swarms have a +20% capture rate with any ball, and will never flee.
THIS swarm closes at 11:59pm on MARCH 15. After that, no new encounters will be spawned. However, anyone who has an ongoing encounter that isn't yet finished has until 11:59pm on March 31 to finish trying to catch their encounter. After that, the thread will be locked and archived.
It was literally freezing, the snowfall the previous night had left blankets of snow upon every surface imaginable, and the temperature just kept dropping- of course- that never kept Eri Novae from going about her buisness. The stars had told her that today was a day for egg hatching, for getting her eggs used to the cold rRciel weather in it's most extreme conditions, and so here she was. For once, the girl wore a pastel coat over her underskirts and poofy dress, though her legs were bare with nothing but thin tights keeping the cold at bay- she really wasn't that smart when it came to dressing.
Since it was an egg day, she'd loaded up a small makeshift trolley with a few of her eggs, gently loaded them all side by side and fitting them with purple scarves that she'd woven, intertwined with glitter. Doing a quick headcount, the Oshwaott, Sandile, Rowlett, Mareanie and Larvesta eggs were all accounted for, phew! Most of them were also covered with blankets as to further protect them from the harsh weather. She'd gone to a route close to home, where she didn't have to think too much.
She brought her darling Juno instead of another egg to act as her pair of eyes- Juno was one of the smartest mons she had, hell, he was awfully watchful, and though he'd never admit it he was really good at looking after her eggs. "It's a stellar morning, Juno!" She beamed at the Alakazam as she walked, basically bouncing with each step she took. The Alakazam stayed close to her side, a hand raising upwards as a small snowflake fell downwards, staring at it curiously. In her head she heard echoed back, rather softly. '...but it's snowing. i'd rather it be warm.' "Oh, but isn't it so pretty?" Eri tried again, insistant smile on her features. Now that she thought about it she hadn't worn gloves either, and everytime she attempted to adjust her grasp on the trolley her fingers ached ever so slightly, which Juno had noticed. Letting out a low tsk the mon moved to grab one of Eri's hands with one of his to keep it warm. 'it should be warm for your sake, and the eggs.'
Eri just giggled, rolling her eyes at Juno's antics. "I'm fine! The stars told me to come out here, so obviously nothing bad will happen!"

Senara likes Steel-type Pokemon. Has this been said before? Because she really, really likes Steel-type Pokemon. Now, Drilbur themselves were only Ground-type, but their evolutionary form--Excadrill--was partially Steel, and thus it was well worth a little detour on the way to the mines to look for one of these little suckers. She was still pretty much dressed for going into the mines--and had her team of mine-appropriate Pokemon with her to boot--but that was fine. Route six was really rocky anyway, so the heavy boots did just as much to help as they did in the underground.
Anywho, Drilbur. Where are the little rodents...
I wonder if I can convince the men at city hall that this is a business expense, Senara giggled aloud, giving Veneur a small scratch where he sat on her shoulder, Maybe get them to comp the pokeball! They do dig really big tunnels. I could set it and Chanceux loose in the mines for a while and they'd make a whole new district perfect for minning.

Amid the rocks and brush, Senara could make out the sound of scraping stones and dirt against what might have been a shovel, were they in the mines. Out here, though, it had to be the claws of a Drilbur! Senara stopped and started scanning around. Drilbur should stand out against the white snow with their dark coats, if they're on the surface... AH!
She ducked down at the sight of it. Small and round and digging with long sharp claws was a Drilbur, making just a shallow little hole in the hillside. It seemed to be content as could be, just digging away, and hadn't appeared to notice her yet. Senara lifted Veneur from her shoulder and set him on the ground. "Que pensez-vous, chéri? L'attaquer ou l'endormir?" She mumbled to the tiny Ivysaur, who put a vine to his chin in thought before giving two little nods. "Très bien alors! Utilisez de la poudre de sommeil!"
Before the Drilbur had even registered their presence, a sudden blanket of soft blue powder fell from seemingly nowhere, covering its little body like a thin layer of, well, pollen! He started to turn around to look, but breathing in the spores made him suddenly very, very sleepy, and in hardly a second he was fast asleep in the pile of freshly dug dirt that he'd been working on. Senara gave Veneur a high-five (well, high-vine, whatever) and threw out beautiful black pokeball, luxurious enough to hopefully make up for the sneaky surprise attack that they'd just dealt the unsuspecting Drilbur.
These "Swarms," as far as Kaisei could gather from the locals, were a regular phenomenon in Arciel. And so it was that he was headed east looking for a little mole Pokemon sticking its head up to see its shadow and announce the coming end of winter. Or was that Patrat? Whatever. He didn't have time to indulge on researching the local superstitions. What he did know was that it was a Ground-type, a type he didn't have among his arsenal yet. Strong trainers always had a diversity of types on their teams, for maximum versatility. Aiming for a swift encounter, Kaisei had sent out the Grass-type Hinata, the Cherubi not having a good time of it at all as his leaf blew back and forth in the wind. Something popped its head out of the dirt. Is that it? Kaisei thought. But no, it couldn't be, Drilbur were supposed to be dark brown, the color of the mountains, and this creature... [break][break] It was blue. A bright, brilliant, neon blue. [break][break] Kaisei had next to no time to react before the oddly colored mole screeched a battle cry and rushed down the pair faster than he could have thought was possible. "Hinata! Leech Seed, now!" Heedless of the seedy missile flying at it, the Drilbur caught it right on the nose, and squalled again when the seed started draining away its energy. It scraped its claws against each other, Honing their edges, then laid into the Cherubi with a barrage of Fury Swipes. Only the rejuvenating energy of the seed was keeping Hinata in the fight. [break][break] "If you can't dodge it, fight back. Tackle, now!" Kaisei commanded as the Drilbur backed off to sharpen its claws again. This time, charge was met with charge, and the smaller 'mon took a bonk in the chest from the Cherubi's vestigial head and tumbled to the ground. Before it could get back up again, Kaisei threw a Pokeball at it. Nothing bad would happen, she said, it'd be fun, she said. Her trolley full of eggs was getting harder to push with the more minutes that passed, Juno had attempted a fair few times to just push it using his psychic powers however Eri was adamant she could do it herself! The stars had made her a star guide, she could handle this and so much more!
Of course, a large Drilbur seemed to have heard the pushing of the trolleys wheels and curiously ran out to get a look, oh-so nearly getting run over in the process and letting out a loud yelp, diving out of the way! Eri in turn let out a squeak, all at once pulling the cart to a halt and staring at the offending mon- a Drillbur?! Is that what the stars wanted for her to see?? "A-Ah, Stars! I'm so sorry!" All at once she was letting go of the cart to rush to the big guy, radiating concern and smothering it with immediate attention. The Drilbur seemed confused, and a little curious. He leaned forward slightly, his tiny nose bopping into Eri's palm and the girl grinned- oh!
A ball was taken out and offered, "Here, as an apology- I have a warm house! Come get out of the cold and join the other star guides~"
