The rain was still welcome to Gilbert. He loved standing in it as he took in a deep breath and clutched the straps of his backpack. Because Birb wasn't a big fan of the rain though she was snuggled into her pokeball. Nancy however was happy to occompany Gilbert outside today. The shiny ditto following along the grass path that they wer following. At the moment he had a nice warm nest that his Toxel egg was sitting in. Protecting from the weather by his backpack as he searched for more wild pokemon to catch. "I wonder if we'll run into anything interesting this morning Nancy." Gilbert wondered out loud as he looked at the ditto. They wiggled in excitement. 

"I guess it's time everyone had a chance to train though as well." he wasn't big on fighting but he wanted to fully level his pokemon so they would create better quality eggs. Gilbert found a tree to sit under then, placing his backpack on the grass sheltered from the rain. He opened it up and pulled out the Toxel egg. Sitting down with the egg on his lap - it was good to take a break sometimes and this was the perfect time to do it as well. Nancy crawled over next to him as he kept a close eye on the wilds for something interesting.

Gilbert was a bit surprised when he saw the pidgey in the rain. It landed a few feet away from him. Although he had to stop his urge from catching it. He made a promise to himself that he would only catch pokemon if he didn't have one yet. He felt bad for the pokemon. Standing while he held onto the Toxel egg he fished a pokeball out of his pocket. Tossing it forward a Trapinch came shooting out. Salamance would chomp her teeth a bit as she looked at Gilbert. "Yup it's go time Salamance" he smiled as he shifted the toxel egg a bit. It definitely was warm and he was excited for its hatching. "Go ahead and use Feint Attack." Gilbert watched as Salamance boldly shot forward. The Pidgey was surprised, but as the Trapinch feinged one way and tackled the bird it flapped its wings.

The Pidgey snapped out of being surprised and hit the trapinch with a gust. Salamance didn't seem to mind, her eyes focused on the opponent. "Bite!" Gilbert leaned agains the tree as he watched the fight. The two pokemon despite what was happening seemed happy. He wasn't too happy about battling but he knew his pokemon needed to train. Plus many wild pokemon seemed to enjoy it. As Salamance bit into the pidgey it attempted to tackle her. However it seemed the trapinch was far too strong. Shaking the bird off to the side. The Pidgey flew up panting. "Feint attack one more time!" Trapinch headed straight for the bird as it got closer to the ground to land. Tricking it again as the trapinch took the pidgey down from the sky. The pidgey lay in the grass passed out as Gilbert ran forward. He felt obligated to make sure it stayed out of the rain. Placing the tired bird into another tree as it wobbled a bit. Gilbert took his toxel egg back to the tree and sat. Grinning as he pet Salamance on the head as she crawled over to him.

Tl:dr: Salamance took down the pidgey.

Salamance did great against the pokemon, Gilbert was impressed. As he held onto the Toxel egg it was getting super warm and he could tell it was very close to hatching. "Great job Salamance." Gilbert praised his pokemon as he reached down and pet her a bit more. It was then that a slowpoke moved out of the water. He awed for a moment, pressing his free hand against his cheeks. The creature was so adorable - as he moved closer the slowpoke simply looked up to him. The pokemon didn't seem to mind him too much and was attentive to the egg in Gilbert's hand. Carefully he settled the Toxel egg down and the slowpoke sniffed the warm object.

"Would you like to come with me?" Gilbert asked softly as he pulled out a pokeball. He pushed it in the sand and the slowpoke stared blankly at it. "I'm a breeder, I take care of pokemon just like this one." he patted the egg gently as the Slowpoke almost seemed happy softly wagging his tail back and forth as it made a soft noise. Gilbert wasn't sure if it was out of fear or out of want. Reaching forward his large hand settled on the slowpoke's head rather easily. Stroking through its soft white fur. The slowpoke poked at the pokeball with its tail.

Tl:dr: Gilbert throws pokeball at the slowpoke! Or rather the slowpoke does it.

Toxel egg HATCHED!

Gilbert happily picked up the pokeball as Salamance looked up to him. Nancy wandered over to the egg as it began to wiggle and crack. Giblert gasped as he placed the newly caught pokemon in his pocket as he leaned down. The man got as close to the egg as possible. Watching the purple shell break away until Bam! It broke apart revealing the baby punk pokemon. The Toxel squeked landing in front of Gilbert. The man clapped his hand in delight picking up the pokemon.

"Oh you beautiful thing you!" he smiled at the pokemon. Cradling it in his arms as the Toxel let out a rasberry. He was in love already. Taking a pokeball he had saved just for the egg he placed the pokemon inside and stashed it in his pocket. "I'll have to get you settled when we get back home, for now Nancy Salamance let's go." he had more pokemon to catch and more to fight. He wanted to get to the next town as fast as he could!

Now that he had hatched a toxel he felt a lot more accomplished. It meant he could move onto new eggs to hatch since he already had a few back at home waiting for him to take care of. Gilbert looked over at Salamance and Nancy as they followed him down the path. Reaching what looked like a bundle of abandoned buildings near the shore. He wondered what sort of pokemon were hidden in there. As the breeder made his way into the abandoned urban area though what he found as two pokeballs in a corner.

Salamance moved over to them and made an excited chittering noise. The Trapinch seemed happy about the items as Gilbert laughed leaning towards them to inspect them further. "Look they're Timer balls!" he picked them up and placed them into his pockets. They could come in handy some time, but there didn't seem to be any pokemon around. As Nancy came up next to him he turned and looked around. Making sure there was nothing hiding underneath the rubel or if he could hear any in the water down by the shore.
