Marley whistled a small tune as he strolled along the path, hands tucked into his pocket, and his Zoruo, Alley, walking alongside him. He had decided to head down to Pine, perhaps do some mining work for a bit of cash. After all, with the likes of Ironton in his arsenal, Marley had proven to be pretty useful around the mines. And he wasn't a bad digger himself. In his pack, one of his eggs sat, nestled and tucked away safely. The weather was quite nice. A nice, refreshing day, really. He could only wonder what sort of things would happen on a day like this. This sort of weather caused everything to come out of the woodwork. And that's what made things more exciting.

Over in a grassy field, not far from the path, a blonde girl was training with her Pokemon. Her Bulbasaur, Rafflesia, was sparring with Clover the Mareep, causing flashes of electricity and colorful leaves to fly into the air. The pair were fighting as hard as any two Pokemon that otherwise got along fine, and the trainer, Aster, was directing them from the sidelines.
"Raff, your Magical Leaf's lookin' fine! Cloves, y'gotta slow down on those Thunder Shocks and Charge in between when ya can, it'll make 'em stronger! Y'all are doin great!" Alighted upon her shoulder, Iris crowed, watching the fight with interest. Both Pokemon looked like they were getting tired, but they were both strong and determined to keep going as long as they could. They kept on for another minute or so, continuously striking one another with attacks until they both looked ready to collapse.
"Alright, alright, y'all, y'gotta slow down and rest now. Ya did real good!" The attacks slowed rapidly to a halt, one more Magical Leaf sending colorful leaves into the sky, but Rafflesia didn't have the energy right now to finish the attack, so they fell onto the already colorful leaf litter on the ground. The purple, red, and blue leaves were a jarring contrast to the mostly yellow and brown leaves already there.
Marley paused as he glanced over, taking note of the electricity and the leaves shooting up into the air, not too far from him. Were some pokemon fighting? Marley was always up for a good fight. With Alley by his side, the pair of them headed over, strolling off of the path towards the sounds of the conflict. He could only wonder what they would find.
What they found was a couple of pokemon sparring, and a strong looking woman with them. Ah, so it was someone training their pokemon. He could get behind that. He often sparred with his pokemon as well. The two of them certainly seemed to have worked hard. The pair of them could barely stand, after their little battle. They hadn't seemed to have noticed them yet.
And thus, the urge to pull a little joke was too strong for him. I mean, he just had to do it. Quietly, he reached for his pokeball, and threw it.
The ball soared through the air, and then, with a flash of light, a massive Steelix, about double the size of a regular one, had appeared right before the woman and her pokemon, looking down at them. Imagine their surprise.

Returning her tired Pokemon to their Poke Balls, Aster stretched her arms up into the air, closing her eyes to relax for a moment. She heard a flash and, when she opened her eyes, a huge Steelix was there, right in front of her! She couldn't help but startle, falling backwards a bit and just barely catching herself from falling on the ground.
"Whoa!" she exclaimed, staring up in awe and a hint of fear. She hoped it was friendly. "Er. Hi there, big guy.. Ah hope we didn't disturb you?"
Iris had cowered behind her own wings, fearful of the huge Pokemon, and opened her eyes facing backwards to see a large man standing behind her trainer. She saw the empty Poke Ball in his hand and put two and two together, figuring out the trick, but decided to keep going along with it and winked at the other trainer, continuing to cower and throwing in some whimpery bird sounds to convince Aster she was also super concerned about this Pokemon.
Seeing her stumble back in shock was just priceless. Even better, her own pokemon had caught onto the joke, and was deciding to play along! This was just perfect! It was impossible not to laugh. As Ironton looked down at the woman, letting out a low, grumbling sound as he stared her down, Marley slowly crept up behind her, his pokemon providing more than enough distraction.
His hands suddenly came down on her shoulders. "Boo!"
Marley jumped back, laughing loudly, as the Steelix pulled back, making a chuckling sound as well. "Hehe, sorry about that. Just couldn't resist," he said before laughs, wiping a small tear from his eye.

Convinced she was being attacked, Aster's first instinct was somehow to spin around and swing a fist. Luckily, the person, who was now laughing at her reaction to.. she guessed, his Steelix, had stepped back and didn't get hit. She lowered her fist and chuckled a bit, nervously.
"Ohh, I get it.. You wanted t' startle me, so ya sent yer Pokemon out in front o' me so I would think I was under attack.. heh.. Glad ya moved outta the way, I would'a decked ya a good one." She wasn't too happy with it, but she would admit that the prank would have been funny happening to someone else. "That's a good one.. Who're you again? I don't believe we've met.."
Prank-happy Iris decided to fly a few circles around the man and look him over to make sure he wasn't going to try anything worse; while she did very much appreciate that joke, she didn't want her trainer to get actually hurt.
It certainly was a good thing Marley decided to take a step back. That swing, which thankfully missed, looking like it could hurt if it hit. His laughter died down as he tried to control himself. Thankfully she seemed pretty reasonable, realizing he had only been joking, rather than meaning anything malicious by it all. "Good thing too. Looked like that coulda hurt," he replied, the accent in his voice more noticable this time that he wasn't laughing. Meanwhile, Ironton pulled back, and was now curling up on the ground.
"This is the first time we've met,"Marley replied, holding a hand out to her, "The name's Marley Hyde. And the big guy over there be Ironton."He blinked when he felt something nudge his leg and looked down, seeing Alley there. "Oh right, and this here's Alley. Pleasure to meetcha."

"Ahm Aster, this here's Iris," Iris cawed confirmation at that, "and I'm guessin' you saw my Bulbasaur and Mareep earlier? That was Rafflesia and Clover." She decided that she'd be friendly; this guy didn't seem all that bad, and he was a little charming, even, after her fearful heart had started to slow back down. So, she put out a hand for a handshake and gave a reassuring grin.
"So, what're ya doin' out here? It's fine weather fer fall, but there's not much out this way, I hear. 'Cept the next town, o' course, but I'm sure ya know that." The wind stirred up some leaves, and she adjusted her jacket to block some of the wind from getting to her. "I was jus' out here to train my Pokemon a little for th' day, but I just finished that up, obviously."
He couldn't put his finger on it. Whether it was the accent, her personality, or perhaps the strength she had hidden behind that good looking face, but there was something about Aster that Marley liked. Good to see she was the forgiving type after his little prank. "Yeah, saw the fightin' from all the way by the road. Got a lot of energy in those guys," he chuckled. His mind went back to Brawly and Janus. Those guys were just bristling with energy.
When she asked what he was doing out here, Marley chuckled. "Yeah, was headin' down to Pine meself. Do a bit o' work in the mines now and again. Helps when you got a big guy like Ironton here to help ya out." Ironton let out a small sound of pride. Marley smiled. "But, that don't mean I ain't taken' me time and seein' what I run into out here. Perfect weather for somethin' to happen'."
A little tug on his leg caused Marley to glace down at Alley. "What is it girl?" The Zoruo was gesturing to Marley's bag, which was shifting lightly. The lanky Galarian's visible eye widened. "Oh %#$@, the little guy's 'atchin'!" He quickly squatted down, opening his bag to reveal the shifting egg inside of it.

"Oh, that's neat! What kind o' egg is it?" Aster had, herself, hatched a few eggs recently, but wasn't sure yet what she would do with the Pokemon that had come out of them. The Oddish was a gift sent from her family, and she'd likely train it up into a Vileplume or something, but the Bulbasaur and Mareep were bred from her own Pokemon, and she hadn't thought through what to do with them yet. She could sell them, as a continuation of the line of her moms' Ampharos line, or she could keep them around to start her own herd and.. forest? Is that what a group of Bulbasaurs were called? A forest? She wasn't sure.
"I jus' got an Oddish and some babies from my team, so I'm havin' a great time carin' for those." She chuckled, stroking Iris's feathers. "I'm thinkin' o' gettin' some babies outta ol' Iris here soon, too."
"No idea. The prof gave it to me after I did a favour for her." Marley replied, lifting the egg out of the pack and gently setting it down on the grass. His eye was fixated on it, watching it shift and move, the gentle sounds of cracking could be heard. He wasn't paying much attention to what Aster said, after all, a little pokemon was about to be born!
The shell started to crack. Once. Twice. And then, small pieces fell away. At first, Marley thought it was a shark of some kind, from the shape of the little guy's face. It took him a second or two to realize just what it was. A Gible. The professor had given him a dragon type?
The little baby dragon blinked, looking around before its large eyes fell on Marley. The one eyed Galarian gave a small, caring smile. "Hey there." he said softly, unable to remove the smile from his face. The little dragon looked up at him and then smiled, before letting out a sound that anyone would recognize meant 'Papa!'. Marley let out a chuckle, petting the little guy on the head. "That's right. I'm your dad," he said, making a mental note to be a better parent than his own father.
The little Gible cooed, before looking over and seeing Aster. The little dragon blinked before smiling, and letting out a similar sound. It didn't take a genius to figure out what the little dragon was saying.

Aster approached the egg as it hatched, curious about what it would become. It hatched into the cutest little landshark Aster had ever seen, all round and big eyes and sharp little claws. She melted a little and smiled at the new baby, especially after it called its new trainer 'papa', but then it turned to her...
"Oh, geeze, little guy, I'm not.. I can see why you'd think, but I'm not yer mama, little fella!" She laughed, shaking her head. "I'm just passin' by, lil Gible. This here's yer dad, an' I'm no relation." Her Murkrow flew down to check out the baby, and gave a gentle, experimental peck with her beak. "Hey now, Iris, you behave. That's a newborn, I'm sure he can defend himself already, but still."
Iris cawed, returning to Aster's shoulder, but not taking her eyes off of the little Gible. Aster also couldn't stop staring at the newborn Pokemon; she knew this one was pretty rare, and she knew it wasn't from Johto, but wasn't sure exactly what type it was by looking. She'd guess Water, but when she checked her Pokedex app in her phone, she found that it was actually Dragon- and Ground-type.
"That's a strong little dude. I've never actually seen a dragon Pokemon up close n' personal," she remarked to Marley. "He's gonna get even stronger, too, right? What do you even feed a dragon?"
Marley let out a laugh at Aster's reaction. Well, could you blame the little guy? He hatches to find two humans, one male and one female, looking down on him. He patted the little guy on the head, who was looking a little disappointed. "Ah, it's ok little guy. I've got plenty here for ya. Welcome to the family." It was amazing he ended up with a second dragon type pokemon. Kamodo was one thing, but to hatch a second one. And Aster certainly seemed impressed as well.
"Eh, I've had experience," he chuckled, reaching for a pokeball, "In fact, the little guy here ain't my first dragon. Come on out Komoda!" he flicked the ball into the air, and there was a brief flash of light. The Jangmo-o appeared before them, blinking and looking around curiously before spotting the Gible. The little dragon let out a cute sound, one that was repeated by Jangmo-o as she approached him. "Komoda, this is..." he paused, "Hmm. I need to give you a name."
Komoda glanced over at Aster, something which didn't go unnoticed by Marley. "Komoda, this is Aster, and that on her shoulder is Iris."[/b] The little dragon gave a small sound of greeting, happy to meet her.

Aster crouched down to get a good look at the other dragon Pokemon. It was armored like a tiny samurai, and it was pretty darn cute! "Nice t'meet ya!" she said to the Jangmo-o. Iris crowed her own greeting, flying down to land on its head and flinging her wings out wide.
Aster stood back up and looked forward; ahead of her, she could see two shapes coming this way. A yellow bird and a blue dog creature were rushing towards them, not seeming to see the trainers or their Pokemon at all, too focused on whatever they were disagreeing about. The bird chattered angrily, swooping to peck at the dog creature, and the dog creature kept spitting water up at the bird. Aster nudged Marley and pointed out the pair of wild Pokemon as she was checking her phone to find out what they were: an Oricorio, a yellow, Electric-type one, and a Vaporeon.
"Should we... stop 'em? Or let 'em go?" The pair of Pokemon was coming uncomfortably close and still hadn't noticed the trainers.
I just wanted to start out their appearance, have them do whatever you want!
Well, this was certainly an interesting sight. A Vaporion and an Oricorio, arguing as they were coming towards them. Marley couldn't help but smirk as he watched the pair of them. "Well, we all know how this little argument is goin' to end. After all, ain't Oricorio an electric type?" Indeed, it wouldn't be long before the bird would start throwing sparks around, and the Vaporion would be on some very, very rough ground.
The two pokemon continued to argue as they approached them, still unaware of the two trainers. Marley was curious how long it would take the pair of them to realize they were not alone. Well, turns out it wasn't until the Vaporion bumped right into Marley's leg. The water pokemon paused, blinking and looking up at Marley, as the bird, in turn, noticed that they weren't entirely alone.
Marley couldn't help but chuckle, looking down at them. "Hey there."

The Oricorio finally noticed the humans and looked away from his argument, but decided that the humans were a problem now, even though he had been the one going this way without looking where it was going. He puffed out his chest and got closer to Aster, daring her to do something about it, and Iris cawed, swooping down to begin the fight with an Astonish. The wild Pokemon startled and considered fleeing the fight, but his pride was on the line now!
He attacked back with an Air Cutter, slashing the wind in the direction of Iris, who flew into it head-on and got knocked away. His next attack was Peck, striking Iris hard in the chest. She looked like she was starting to hurt, but she toughed it out and struck back with another Astonish, hitting the Oricorio and knocking him back, using Peck while he flinched and doing more damage. The Oricorio angrily sent another Air Cutter at the Murkrow, who got wise and moved out of the way this time, then retaliated with a second Peck attack.
Seeing that Iris was already getting winded, even if she was holding out okay for now, Aster decided to end it by throwing a Poke Ball.
"I wonder what their problem is? I've never seen wild Pokemon arguin' like that, especially two different kinds o'em." Aster puzzled over the issue as she watched the ball shake, hoping it would catch, or that the Oricorio might leave if he busted out. Iris wasn't looking great, but she wouldn't like almost losing to the same species of Pokemon twice.
With their presence now noticed by the two of them, it seemed like the battle was on. When eyes meet, it's time to battle. Seems those words were true even in the pokemon world. As Aster and Iris faced off against the Oricorio, Marley looked down at Komoda. "You think you can handle this girl?" The little Jangmo-o nodded, giving a small chirp before moving to position herself in front of Marley. Meanwhile, the Vaporeon moved to square off against them.
From the looks of it, it certainly seemed a strong one. Marley smirked. "Alright, set up a Bide Komoda!" The Jangmo-o nodded, as a feint glow began to surround her. The Vaporeon, not entirely understanding what was going on, let loose with a Water Gun, hitting the little dragon head on. Though, instead of sending her flying back like it thought, Kamoda stood firm. "Hang on there girl, you can do it!" Marley encouraged as the Jangmo-o stood firm, still glowing. The Vaporeon gave an annoyed huff, blasting again with another Water Gun. Still nothing. The damn dragon was still standing.
Marley smirked. "Ok girl, let 'er have it!" The glow surrounding Komoda flared up, and with a mighty little roar from the dragon, a burst of energy shot out. All the power the Vaporeon had thrown at her, paid back double. The water pokemon barely had time to react before the attack hit, sending it bouncing back along the ground in an utter daze. It tried to get back up, only to stumble over and collapse to the floor.
Marley pumped a fist. "Score!" he cheered, his tired pokemon letting out a cute roar of triumph. Meanwhile, it seemed the battle between Aster and her pokemon was winding down. "Honestly, no idea. Wish I could speak pokemon, learn what it was they were talkin' about."
[Choosing to defeat Vaporeon, no capture attempt.]

A breeze wafted by, carrying a horde of wild Vivillon. They crowded around, gossiping to each other, judging the trainers and their Pokemon, and giggling to themselves about it. Aster barely noticed as a Pineco rolled up and bumped into her leg, as she was totally distracted by the pretty butterflies. The Pineco bounced back, looked like he was hurt that Aster didn't notice him, then spotted the other trainer and hopped over to stand in front of him, looking up pleadingly.
"Oh, wow.. These are so pretty. Ah wonder if they'd be at home on the ranch?" Aster was totally entranced with the Pokemon; she imagined they'd be great at collecting sweet-scented pollen for her, plus they were gorgeous to look at with their many-colored wings. The lead Vivillon, the brown and green one, seemed to sense that the trainer wanted to catch some of them, and arranged the other Vivillon with practiced ease until they floated gently in front of the trainers in a jagged line. Iris flung out her wings and gave a sharp cry to indicate that she wanted to fight, and she leaned off Aster's shoulder to flap to the ground.
"Let's fight 'em together, Marley. They can't be too tough wi' those thin wings, but there's still a lot of 'em." The lead Vivillon puffed up at the mention of not being too tough, and he set up a Light Screen immediately, to make it harder for Special moves to harm the whole lot of butterflies. Iris, not expecting that, hesitated a tick too long and got struck by Struggle Bug by the green Vivillon. She flew to the lead Vivillon and used Astonish, causing it to flinch, then got attacked by the other three Vivillon: Psybeam from one, Gust from another, and a third one attempted to use Sleep Powder, which unfortunately worked fine. Iris got hit by the Gust, but Psybeam struck her harmlessly, and then she passed out, crumpled on the ground.
"Aw, heck.. Iris, wake up! C'mon, darlin', there's a fight goin' on, ya gotta fight it."
In Aster's bag, meanwhile, her phone made a gentle 'blip' noise to indicate that the eggs she'd ordered had arrived in her PC, and she would have to swap them into her party to hatch them.
